Julie Richards has fantasized about deliciously handsome, younger man Brad MacGregor, ever since she moved to the small mountain town, but believes he deserves someone closer to his age, sexier and without the baggage of her stalker ex-husband. When he is close, though, she forgets all the reasons why it would never work between them.
Little does she know, Brad has a secret too.
Brad is a werewolf, who knows voluptuous Julie is meant to be his mate. Despite the curse haunting his family, he can't resist the need to be with her, claim her. But every time he thinks he is getting closer to her, she turns away.
When a fierce blizzard hits, he seizes the opportunity to show her how he can look after her and protect her. With luck, he also hopes to convince her that he is the perfect man—and beast—for her. After all, she isn't the only one who has been kept awake at night by naughty fantasies and dreams of something more.
Julie moved to the small town to get away from her ex. She has been there for 3 years. Brad a shifter has watched over her the whole time. They finally get together. However, there is a cliffhanger at the end.
This book was free, and it's the reason I picked it up. I will not be continuing with the series as I will not pay 1.99 for 36 to 80 pages.
One small village has become a safe haven for one one on the run. Never did she imagine that she would find a lifetime of love, familt, security and freedom.
The build up is good. The unraveling of one BBW and her hot protector gets sizzle points. Who knew 24 hours could hold so much impact?
Synopsis: Julie fled an abusive ex to a small town where she hoped to hide and build a quiet life for herself. At night from her small cabin, she notices a wolf watching her from the woods. During the day, she works in the small corner store she opens while Brad, the town’s favorite bachelor, installs a security system for her. When a blizzard hits, he only intends to get her home safe. Then everything changes.
Review: I don’t have a lot to say about this book – I only finished it because it was so short. The unfortunate thing is that it had decent bones and if the author would of just made it a bit longer to flesh out a few ideas – it could have been decent. Unfortunately, it was wham bam and then done mam. The biggest aspect of the story was just glanced right over – and so I wasn’t tied to it, didn’t love it, don’t recommend it. Happy reading just the same.
Julie moved to a small mountain town to hide from her abusive ex husband. Brad has known Julie is his mate since she arrived two years ago but isn't sure how to approach her. He finally decides to make his move on the same night her ex catches up with her and he doesn't get the chance to ease her into the whole werewolf thing.
This was ok. I think I would have liked a little more story on the werewolf/witch relationship along with whatever that curse is. I also didn't like Julie...she went to a vulnerable sweet woman to a presumptuous biatch...and then she gave Brad a hard time for caring about her feelings, not cool.
Listed as a novella, but it seems shorter than other novellas I have read. The story and characters were interesting and made me wanting more. More character, world, drama, and over all development. The 3 star rating is solely based on how short, and thus rushed feeling, the story is. Had this been novel length, I probably would have rated it 5 stars. Will I recommend this story? Yeah, but it would have the caveat that it is readable within an hour. I will happily read an extended novel version of this story if the author ever decides to expand the story in the future.
Good book, but too short of a book. Julie was Brad's mate that he was watching for about 2 years before he actually met her. Julie met Brad after moving away from her ex-boyfriend, that use to abuse her. But her wolf protected her when her ex boyfriend decided to knock on the door and got a surprise. Brad protected her and told him he was not welcomed. Finally, Julie was safe and Brad took the ex outside for some wolf action, but he lived.
This novella has a typical storyline for its genre: woman runs from abusive ex to start a new life. Wolf shifter knows when she arrives that she is his mate. So far he’s done nothing about it but now the first blizzard of the season is about to hit and he’s finished with waiting. It’s not bad except for the fact that nobody who worked on this story knows the difference between ‘affect’ and ‘effect’!
Protected By the Wolf ( a werewolves Curse Book One)
a strong and sensual love story. Characters were both strong with their feelings for each other. A no nonsense story of two people who knew what they were looking for and took the chance of being together. Beautifully written. Definitely will be looking forward to reading the next books Love the rare and open feelings vs between the characters that found themselves pulled together. Sounds a lot like true Love.
This is definitely a must read. Julie is fighting temptation from the towns most delicious Brad! If she turned him away, I was very close to jumping in the book to have him myself.
Brad is one of the hottest and kindest shifters I’ve read in a while. I have to read the rest of this series! I need more of the wolves in this town.
This was a quick and easy read. Took me an hour. I’ve been itching for a shifter romance lately but wanted something quick and this definitely did the trick. Even though it was short I feel the author covered all the issues they brought up in this novella. I do love the little cliffie it ended on making you need to read book two.
1st off, it was 2 short. 2nd, it was good but it doesn't say exactly what's going on with her ex 2 understand why he tried 2 kill her. It was good she was protected by him and she agreed 2 b with him ASAP b4 she knows all the rules.
This was a short read, a novella. It ends their story but as stated has an underlying theme that is not complete. Character development is minimal but I like the characters and the premise of the books to come.
4 Stars What you expect from a Wold shifter story with an alpha wolf who finds their mate. It has sexy scenes with an over the top protective alpha and this time with a older woman who doesn't feel worthy of the young hot hunk. It was a decent storyline, and I enjoyed the characters.
Short and quick read, which wasn't bad. Julie and Brad weren't bad characters, but the ending was quite abrupt. It ended on a cliffhanger but the next book continues with another couple? Granted the issue will likely be resolved then, but I wasn't a fan of this ending.
Loved how sweet and caring he was with her. Also how the fmc wasn’t afraid to stand up for what she wanted. Sweet romance in a snow blizzard. Very tempting to now buy book 2.
Fated mates Reverse age gap Forced proximity Sweet romance Wolf shifter
I love werewolves but this was written in 3rd person WHICH I HATE! And they called a vagina “her sex” which I also am not a fan of. Overall, the story was cute and I’m curious to read the next book since this one left on a cliff hanger!
Too short, not much development. The meet-cute and most of their interactions happened before this story, so we are told a lot of things instead of them being shown on page. And it ends on a cliffhanger.
