Ice Planet Barbarians Part 6: Resonance

Rate this book
I've fallen in love with my alien barbarian. But there's a tiny complication with our 'mating' that I've just been made aware of. The timing is awful, because I have to decide - do I stay, or do I go? Staying means a life with him...and an awful, awful side-effect. But is the alternative even worse?

Am I brave enough to claim a strange new life on this planet with the man I've grown to love? Or should I keep my sights set on Earth?

Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.

Ruby also loves coffee and dirty books and will probably be a cat lady at some point. :)

This is a Review of The Complete Book:

Actual Rating 3.5

I had fun reading this. It was silly but thoroughly enjoyable.
It's very short so I swallowed it up in one go.

I'll keep reading this series, sometimes we need silly in or lives.

3 I'm Blue stars

description

O.K This will be the perfect book for someone who haven't read an alien paranormal book before. This one will do for that fist one!! For me I found it a bit lacking but only because I have fallen so hard in love with Lolita Lopez's aliens.

I liked the plot and the story was sweet. I just had difficulty grasping that the aliens or creatures in the avatar movie new about better technology than the aliens in this book. It's like you went back in the future caveman style. The only difference is it's caveman with horns and fangs.

But yes I am going to read the next one

MY SEXY ALIEN BARBARIAN !!!

WOWZA! I love it! Resonance is the sixth and final installment in the amazing new serial, Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon and it totally rocks! This series is my first time reading Dixon's work but it won't be my last. I am definitely a fan! I just can't get enough of this series! Each new installment gets better than the last and that's saying a lot! If you love science fiction, alien adventure, laugh out loud humor and scorching hot romance, then you will love, love, love this series. The story is exciting, original, inventive, compelling, thrilling, exhilarating, enticing, suspenseful, humorous, romantic, seductive, arousing and sensual. The dialogue is smart, sassy, well written and flows effortlessly. The characters are imaginative, captivating, engaging, endearing, sexy and at times, laugh out loud funny. When you put all this together, you get one heck of a great read! I'm not one to give spoilers but I will say this - Sexy blue aliens-check! Beautiful brave, sassy earth woman-check! Alien Ice Planet-check! Evil malevolent aliens-check! Danger, alien abduction, adventure, drama, edge of your seat suspense, lots of humor and a little snark-check! Romance and steamy alien sex-you betcha! Oh my! Buckle up my lovelies! It's one heck of a great ride! Oh my! This series just gets better and better! Sadly, this is the final installment but I want more! An absolutely wonderful conclusion! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Note to self:
Marking this as read for my readers challenge. I just did a re-read of Calm: Slice of Life Short Stories, I already read it this year so it took it off my book count for this year when I re-read it.

The men's reaction to seeing the women icked me out. Like, please calm down you're giving off frat boys in heat vibes, nobody likes that (also HOW much older are these guys and why did the women all have to be so young like WHY was that the choice made ugh).

The set-up for Liz and Raahosh's story gives me pause. It didn't seem like anyone was that bothered by what he did? Like Vektal didn't even try to stop him?? The authors gonna have to work hard in the second book to make me like him lol.

Also, yes again I'm gonna say it needed editing because there was such an easy plot hole filler she used that like, I get it, but also can we think of something else please.

Overall, this book was a fun but annoying read. Camp, but also hm. I'm gonna keep reading, obviously, but it'll be fun to overanalyze this silly series.

The six parts of Ice Planet Barbarians are fun, but spicy, reads that contain alternating POVs of Georgie and Vektal.

Still I am disappointed that this was it. There where so many other couples I would have loved to read about.

A SciFi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon is good. Not sure what to say but Sci Fi, blue alien erotica. Apparently, it is a thing and apparently, I like it. I am not sure how I stumbled upon Ruby and her books, but I love it and am rereading thewhole series and het other series.

Humans being abducted by aliens and badly mistreated only to find themselves crashed on an alien planet with other aliens. It makes for an interesting read where there are mates, language barriers, horned horney blue aliens and a severe lack of women. It is fun and witty and at times heartbreaking, but it is certainly something different and I now find myself strangely addicted.

So, I read The Alien's Mail-Order Bride by this author, and whereas I didn't much care for alien porn (it was my first experience), I was definitely curious about that spur. So, I decided to give the series that the novella was connected to, Ice Planet Barbarians a shot.

I still can't get my head around the alien part. I can't imagine them. I can't find them sexy because I can't see them. And when I picture something, it isn't attractive. Her writing is pretty good, and her world building is tolerable. The translation part needed some more plotting out, but the rest of the world was somewhat built. I could see the planet, just not the alien.

I said it before, I'll say it again. The fact that those spurs don't exist is also proof that intelligent design is bullshit.

Too much plot, not enough smut. Alien porn not my thing.

I read this as a serial on Kindle Unlimited. Thank you, author, for very clearly identifying that each book is part of a series and how often to expect the next installment. Cliffhangers not advertised as such tend to annoy me, even if I liked the book. This is a review that I am posting on both Part 1 and Part 6, but without spoilers about the plot.

This was a fun and steamy Earth female/alien male type of SFR read. I liked the casual and nonchalant voice of Georgie, along with the slightly stilted and more formal mannerisms of Vektal. The book covers of this series give a somewhat tame version of Vektal. Part of the fun is the two of them discovering how different they are, and Ruby Dixon did this with humor and affection. Her unfolding of the alien male physique ranks up there with a couple of oldies-but-goodies like Starkissed by Lanette Currington or Captive Surrender by Linda Mooney. All three of these books have a tender love story that is surrounded by danger.

The sci-fi elements are secondary to the romance, but Dixon does a good job of creating an alien atmosphere that is scary and intimidating. The six parts of Ice Planet Barbarians are fun, but spicy, reads that contain alternating POVs of Georgie and Vektal.

I really enjoyed the series. It was different which is a good thing. Vektor was just as sweet as can be. Good provider and protector for a barbarian. Although it will take some of the women some time to adjust they all willingly took the symbiots so they can survive the planet. Geogie is happy about the baby and planned on staying anyways because she loves Vektor. So, the aliens do come back but the women had their trackers removed and tossed so they ended up leaving since they couldnt be found...alien freaks! lol Great ending and a good series.

Totally 5 Stars Worthy

This book part one thru six was totally fantastic? I just loved it, it was funny, exciting, and romantic. Once you start reading you are hooked with the books and you just want more. Hopefully you will write another book, letting us know if the other woman found their happy ending too. This a must buy and highly recommended?

These novellas were surprisingly enjoyable and well thought out. The way problems were solved like the language gap and the sicknesses were fixed easily but also creatively and weren't predictable. I liked the world and the aliens. The romance was strange and silly at times but still really good. 5 stars.
