Oh. My. Goodness. with each installment in Lauren Smith's Surrender Series, the heat factor gets turned up a few more notches. Gilded Chain was no exception.
When The Gilded Cage ended, sweet Callie was heartbroken. Fenn left to begin planning his future life with Hayden and get to know his long lost twin. Sweet, young Callie doesn't think she can recover and vows that she won't love again. It's just too much heartache.
Thankfully, Wes Thorne (Hayden's brother), is there to pick up the pieces. He already has an undeniable attraction to Callie, but seeing how heartbroken she was, he took it upon himself to help her past the hurt; while getting the opportunity to satisfy his lust-filled urges.
A trip to Paris will do the trick, right? He literally sweeps her away to one of the most romantic cities in the world. *sigh* Because he believes so much in her talent, he uses his experience and connections in the art world as a chance to help her visualize and pursue her dreams of becoming an artist.
Sweet, young and innocent Callie was so pure at heart. It's no wonder Wes is drawn to her. She was like a light that beckoned and he was drawn to it like a moth to a flame.
Let's talk about the HEAT factor in this book. Any fan of the series knows that the men have very particular tastes, when it comes to the bedroom, and that just amps up the heat to the nth degree. *fans self* The scenes in this book are filled with all the desire, passion and steam anyone could ask for. Not once did this story falter or fizzle, in that department.☺
I ❤ this series and can't wait to dig in to Royce's story when it's released. Having already met him in the previous books, I know his is going to be very entertaining. He's such a naughty and mischievous character and I can't wait to see how he gets tamed. The little teaser given at the end of The Gilded Chain definitely left me thirsty for more.
