Ren’s so angsty.

I think Ren's crush on Mei is cute and I really do hope we get Yamato confronting his jealousy and talking with Mei about it in a healthy, constructive way.
I absolutely DETEST that Megumi is with a 30 year old. I hate it and how no one seemed to question it at all. And if the series ends without them breaking up and talking about how she was being horribly taken advantage of, then I'm truly going to be disappointed. I want to have faith but fuck... i really don't know.
I truly adore Kai. I don't think he ever liked Rin, the way that she liked him. I think he just knew she was a beautiful girl and felt insecure that someone like her would fall for him. I'm kinda glad they broke up but I didnt expect it to be because she saw his scars.
Seeing everyone go through some of their last high school experiences makes me feel a bit sad and also made me realize how close I am to the end of the series.

nooo megu! your “30 yo white boyfriend” is not something to brag about, omg the power imbalance is crazyyy, NOW i feel bad for her lol. also the twins are starting to annoy me (and let’s not talk about the homophobic scenes made for “comedy purposes“)

《 Plot 》
The pace of the story is good. Although there are 18 volumes all over, it doesn’t make you lose interest in it. The story starts by introducing Mei who's a bully victim. She doesn’t have any friends because she always distances herself from people. This is because she has been betrayed by her friends back in the middle school. Ever since then, she never trusts people anymore. However, she begins to change when she gets to know Yamato. Yamato is a popular guy that has many friends and is wayyy too friendly with girls. He starts to approach Mei when she kicked him because of some misunderstanding that happened. Yamato pursues Mei every day which eventually leads them being together. The story starts to develop from there and it’s being told from Mei’s POV.
《 Characters 》
❐ Mei Tachibana, the heroine
When Mei starts falling in love with Yamato, she feels scared of showing everything to him. I can relate to that a lot because you don't know how things will be so it's scary. There are other moments that I can relate to but I won't tell you to avoid spoiler.
At one point, Mei begins to change herself by engaging more with people around her. That's what makes her strong and kind girl. She is very observant of people around her and tries to help them the best she can. I love her character development.
❐ Yamato Kurosawa, the hero
Yamato is a typical cool who is popular for his kindness. Despite being a cool popular guy, he still has his own flaws. There are some issues that he struggles with but didn't let people see him in that way. I wouldn't really picture him as a really good guy. He has his flaw but he learns to change little by little.
《 Pros & Cons 》
☑ Realistic & healthy relationship
↳ There are several couples born in this comic and each of them shows what relationship is likely to be in real life especially Mei’s relationship. If you have been in a relationship, several situations that happened will make you go “Omg, I went through that too!”. On top of that, most of them are in a healthy relationship making it enjoyable to read.
☑ Positive messages
↳ It touches the issue of bully and friendship. Although Mei has been bullied, she doesn’t retaliate at those who had betrayed her back then. It also shows that life is more wonderful with loyal companions being by your side.
☒ The art drawn
↳ It’s not that the art are bad or anything. It’s just not really my cup of tea. I noticed that the art was changing slightly as the volume continues on. It got better in my opinion.

My favourite manga! I keep going back to this whenever I feel like reading something light and fun. This is my first manga that I read when I first started to read comic. I was so happy when I found out this comic had completed in English version. These are several quotes that I love from this story.

I didn't expect for this volume to make me think so much, and getting emotional too...or maybe, unconsciously, I had a feeling it might--as it's about the characters finding their way and thinking about their own futures--and that’s why I delayed reading this...
I feel like in this volume, we really get to see how much Yamato has grown as a person. After seeing Megumi and Mei making decisions about what they want to do in the future, he came to realize that he himself needs to work hard and fight for what he wants as well. [Potential spoilers] Perhaps he was hesitant at first but I think he seems to really enjoy taking photos, and even if it's not something he would do for the rest of his life, it's what he wants to do now--and that's enough of a reason to try and go after it. [Potential spoilers over]

Ya estoy en la recta final y por eso sigo leyendo. Acá mi compita el Ren saca toda su misoginia para bardear a Mei y su relación con Yamato en lugar de admitir que tiene sentimientos por la chica. Igual no aporta mucho su historia, la vdd. Nadie aporta mucho, en realidad.
Cosa que no había mencionado porque ni siquiera tengo orden en estas reseñas, pero qué onda con que Megumi esté saliendo con un vato de 30 años cuando ella apenas tiene 18 y ni había acabado la prepa cuando lo conoció. Que además el wey tiene un claro fetiche con las asiáticas. Entiendo que él es necesario para la trama porque fue quien hizo que Megumi tuviera oportunidades para modelar y una parte de mí dice "bueno, pero es que esa industria está llena de grooming y en parte es realista" y otra parte me cachetea y dice "¡pero no lo justifica!". Y, ciertamente, no lo hace.

Ren gets a strong spotlight here as he deals with his confusion around women and his feelings for Mei. I enjoy his loner and prickly demeanor and seeing his view of women create some differences and turbulence as he begins to enjoy Mei was nice to read.
I'm disappointed Mei ends up with Angelo. I'm a fan of Mei and Kai but I get with Mei doing the world modeling it's hard to continue their deal. Instead we get a lot of Rin and Kai and they're relationship is getting more interesting albeit still due to Kai's lack of self-confidence. It's like a neat mirror to Yamato and Mei where that lack of self confidence hurts the relationship with Rin frustrated and sad instead of taking it more like Yamato did. I am glad Kai realizes he's not able to properly give feelings back and breaks up with Rin. I am glad this relationship happened though as it was a great way to introduce Rin and show us that more moodier side of Takamura that we haven't seen in awhile.

Ah! Second cover of someone other than Yamato and Mei! And it's kind of appropriate now that Ren is no longer emotionally constipated lol
So Ren likes Mei now... I wish I was surprised but alas this is high school we are talking about lol
Rin and Kai have broken up :( and Megumi now has straight long black hair and is back from Paris with a 30 year old white boyfriend! Yes those exact words were used to describe him! I had a hunch about Megumi x Kai but now I'm not so sure...
Mei and Yamato still show up here and there for a lil fluff but so far they're just vining and enjoying their last memories in high school
Not much of Aiko or Asami in this volume which is to be expected given that we have more healing for Kai and Ren and Rin and Megumi to be done.

This book highlighted a student's life as they embark on their last year of high school. It touches on relationships and what does it mean to actually like someone. What are the signs that they like you back? How much should one compromise or change in that process for someone else or just for yourself? The series continues to explore personal growth in figuring out who you are, as you enter adulthood soon. That it's ok too to not know... the answers will come, as you experience life.

Hate to give it such a low rating compared to my other ratings, but…. Megumi girl. You are a victim!!! Nobody questioning her dating a 30 yo guy is insane too someone needs to stick up for her!!! Im also quite sad about Kai and Rin breaking up they could have been so cute together why why why…. And I don’t even wanna talk about ren liking Mei now this can’t be….

So, apparently Len is the one character that is tough to accept now that Megumi's annoying fase seems to be passing. I can't really bring myself to like a character that is so negative that the dark thoughts he has on other people end up seeping to his own self.

I really enjoy this series. It's been a month or so since I read volumes 1-13...and it was so easy to fall back into this with these characters that I've grown so attached to. Looking forward to reading more.

Reminiscent of the beginning of the series when Mei first made friends, the group goes on a trip to the beach. Only this time, it’s not so awkward and a lot more fun and carefree, with each of them paired off in a couple. It’s sweet and relaxing, something all of them need. Mei and Yamato are particularly adorable in this volume.
In the background, we see Ren, and how he’s starting to form light feelings for Mei. And then we get to see how Rin and Kai are doing. Rin is a bright girl, dramatic and optimistic, but it’s obvious that Kai doesn’t like her the way she likes him. Things aren’t working out so well. We especially see it when Kai has scars and Rin doesn’t quite know how to react. And now Megumi is back, a big change from when she left, and with an older boyfriend.
I’m still wondering what’s going to happen there. Other than that, it’s nice to see them all growing up.

I read this out of order b/c I saw it on my new shelf and wanted to see what it was about.
I like the plot. Lots of young high school romance, some who are models, some who get bullied, some who are popular. I am not a big Manga fan, but I have serveral Teens at the library who enjoy Manga so I wanted to give it a try. Also a teen who saw me reading Say I Love YOu, suggested I read BLOODY MARY. I will give it a try next.

Wow, everyone seems so mature by this volume! Looking at the drama of Ren and Rin, I really appreciate how far everyone has come. I love watching Mei with the children, and see some great glimpses of her as an adult. I'm sad to see the high school years drawing to a close, but also can't wait to see what things are like in the future for all of them. Meg looks so different when she gets back!

Ich kam schon gut in den Bd. 14 rein. Aber ich finde die Haupt Handlung bleibt auf der Stelle stehen. Die aktuelle Handlung ist von der Haupt Handlung ziemlich weiter geht. Bzw. Ich weißt nicht wo die Handlung hin geht.
Ich finde auch das die Reihe langsam wirklich etwas langweilig wird. Ich hoffe das die Reihe endlich ein Ende findet.

This short review will be repeated on every single volume. Previously, it sat at four stars; I was young and into dumb shit.
Because it was trendy to like books where the popular guy gets with the nerdy girl, I liked this back then. Now, I’m so over these tropes. He’s not even that great. Hell, just about everyone sucks here.
