In this pink candy heart romance set in a holiday-obsessed town during Valentine’s Day, two teenage girls—one of whom comes from a family of love witches—fall for each other while exchanging anonymous hate-to-love letters.

Piper Blake is not a witch. Which wouldn’t be a problem, except that she comes from a family of Fableview love witches. She’s been pretending to read people’s romantic fortunes for years, but between her parents’ divorce and her dad’s penchant for serial dating, Piper knows that love is a con.

Ivy Collins wants revenge. Some scam artist imploded her life last summer by giving her mom a fake love reading, and now Ivy has arrived in Fableview just in time to suffer through the town’s obsessive Love Month celebrations.

When Ivy discovers that the scam artist in question is Piper Blake, she vows to take her down. And what better way to reveal what a fraud Piper is than by writing her through Fableview’s anonymous love letter project? As the hate-to-love letters fly between them, an unlikely connection forms—but can a love story that starts with a lie end in anything but disaster?

A sapphic YA romance with love witches, anonymous letters, enemies to lovers, and a town that takes Valentine’s Day VERY seriously? Yeah, I was absolutely here for this one!

Piper and Ivy were such a fun pairing, especially because neither of them particularly believes in love, albeit for very different reasons. Piper has spent years pretending to possess the magic her family is known for, while Ivy has every reason to resent the girl whose supposed love reading turned her life upside down. Naturally, their solution is to exchange anonymous letters filled with spite that slowly turn into something much sweeter. And I ate that up!

What I really appreciated was that beneath all the pink, hearts, and adorable romantic moments, there was a genuine exploration of how our experiences shape our beliefs about love. Both girls are carrying hurt and resentment, and watching them slowly challenge those feelings while getting to know each other was incredibly endearing.

The whimsical setting of Fableview was another highlight. I loved the Valentine’s Day obsession, the magical family dynamics, and the overall cozy atmosphere. It was charming without completely overshadowing the emotional aspects of the story.

I did wish certain emotional developments had a little more room to breathe, particularly as things started coming together toward the end. Some of the conflict and resolution felt a touch convenient, but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the journey.

Overall, this was such a sweet, charming, and heartfelt sapphic romance about vulnerability, trust, and learning that love doesn’t have to look like the examples we’ve grown up with. A little messy, a little magical, and a whole lot of heart. Definitely a lovely read!

Thanks to Random House Children's Books and NetGalley for the ARC!

I have loved every Bridget Morrissey book I have read so far, and this one might be a favorite. This book is such an absolute delight from start to finish. I loved coming back to Fableview in another season, and seeing the town really commit to the themes of holidays. The town is so charming with all of its whimsical vibes. The whole concept of the Love Month celebrations and its traditions with the love letter wall is such a joyful environment to read about.

I really loved both of the main characters, Piper and Ivy. I really liked seeing how both characters have different struggles involving their families, and there is so much growth throughout the book regarding their family relations and I loved seeing it. I loved Piper's trying to fit with the love witch family despite not having the powers herself, and Ivy's one-sided beef with Piper after being new to town. Despite Ivy's initial dislike, I loved how Piper could charm her with the letters and in person.

If you've read some of Bridget Morrissey's other books, you can really tell that this book is truly her vibe and voice and I just love it so much, she's definitely becoming one of my favorites lately. I read this in one night and just really loved this so much.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked, "Everything She Does Is Magic", and so I was glad to be able to receive this sequel. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first, but it is still cute in its own way.

I loved that it still followed the holiday theme, but this time with Valentine's day. As well, I was happy to see cameos from the old characters, and I really liked the idea of the letter exchanges.

Although, the idea was solid, I felt like the execution of the letters was a bit all over the place. As well, when it came time for the reveal, the scene felt rushed and therefore not as satisfying as anticipated. I also would have loved to learn more about the family's magic and the "love touch" felt a bit underutilized for a romance book.

Overall though, while not my favorite from this author, this is still a pretty cute read and a nice quick YA holiday romance. 3.4/5 stars

I Put a Spell on You is a super-sweet return to the world of Fableview! I'm normally not a magical realism fan, but Bridget Morrissey has a special touch. Her books feel so wonderfully magical, even though the magic itself is mostly set dressing, and this one is no exception. I loved the Valentine's Day theme, and all the attention to even the smallest of details. The enemies-to-lovers-via-letters is such a fun trope, and it's smooth and effortless in Morrissey's hands. The interpersonal issues that FMCs Ivy and Piper are working through are believable and relatable, especially for a young audience, and their romance is picture-perfect.

I Put a Spell on You is another excellent sapphic YA romance from Bridget Morrissey, confirming that I'll buy literally any sapphic story she wants to tell!

Thank you to Edelweiss for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was so so so good! I didn't read the first book in the series, so I was a little afraid that I would be missing some things, but I still had so much fun and I really didn't think I missed anything.

I absolutely love Piper and Ivy and their complicated relationships. Reading the letters between them was so fun and I loved seeing Piper finally realize who was sending them. This was a great romance story, but it's also a story about embracing and loving yourself!

I was SO excited to read another book from the Fableview verse and this one did not disappoint. I love the premise of love witches and Valentine’s Day absolutely taking over the town. The small details of the book, like the love events, the local pie shop, and charm of the stores make this book so fun to read. I love that our main characters are skeptical of love and contain so much complexity. I hope we get another book in this series!

I'm obsessed with book 1 in this series, so I was beyond excited to see what book 2 would be about. I was a little nervous because Valentine's Day is not my favorite. But I adored this book. I loved how the story unfolded. I can't wait to buy a copy for my shelves. I hope we get more in the series because I need more. I highly recommend this book and the series!

This book was just as cute and fun as I was hoping it would be. I love this return to the witchy town with the focus on Valentine's Day and love. Piper and Ivy are so adorable, as are the friends. I adore every aspect of this story, especially the fun worldbuilding and how fully flushed out the characters are. The romance is slow and sweet, with a one-sided enemy turned friends turned girlfriends.

Thank you to Delacorte Romance for the opportunity to read and review.

i loved Everything She Does Is Magic but i may have loved this more!! ivy and piper are both stressed out beyond belief at 17 years old, and are stupidly oblivious to their feelings for each other (typical sapphic behavior)

loved it. can’t wait to see if we are getting more stories from fableview!!

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this arc! I thought this book was really sweet. I usually don’t love the added elements of magic and things like that in my romance books, but I thought this one was well done! It felt a bit slow at parts, but overall it was cute.

This was a cute book it was everything I expected it to be. The setting was cute with its Valentine theme, and the town everything felt so lived in I liked the aspect of the love witches and the store everything felt so surreal, and it had this witchy vibe that I liked there powers were interesting to read about Piper was a good character, her, and Ivy had this whimsical feel to them that I liked they expressed themselves through their choices be it in fashion, or things they liked, and they felt strong about it it made them unique, and different characters I think it maybe one of the reasons they fell in love with each other. They both wrote letters to each other, and they both grew both their voices were distinct enough, and the book was fast paced I liked how everything felt supernatural, and gave this book a mystic vibe it all connected together beautifully. It was a good book to read.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher for the arc.
