Sloane Reed's not looking for love. But after a few years of guest starring in other people’s fantasies, being a ‘unicorn’ no longer feels like enough.
Freddie Lane is drawn to Sloane the moment he clocks her at the bar at Salt. He's just got one small problem: the woman of his dreams only wants him if he comes as a package deal.
Cole Avery has wanted his best friend for longer than he'd like to admit. He's made his peace with it. For the most part.
When the three of them agree to give dating go, old feelings re-ignite - and as they both fall for Sloane, Freddie finds himself drawn to Cole in ways he'd never imagined. One reckless dare and a very slippery first date later, the three of them are navigating a romance none of them saw coming.
But with Sloane's fear of commitment, Cole's buried feelings, and Freddie's world quietly turning upside down - can three people who never planned to fall in love make it work?
Spicy Honey is a contemporary poly MMF romance with Juno Rose North's signature blend of heart, heat, and a happily ever after.
This book was a why choose with so many fun relationship dynamics.
Sloane is sexy and fearless. She has no problem saying exactly what she wants with intimacy. Freddie and Cole are best friends who go to a hook up club where they meet Sloane… and sis made an impression! She made it very clear she wants BOTH! (Literally not mad at it)
It was so fun watching them try to impress her and convince her they can get on her level. The relationship between Freddie and Cole was also wild because Cole has a thing for Freddie. Their dynamic was sooo hot!
The tension, chemistry, and everything from public Os to sexy little glasses! Spicy Honey is such a fun read!
I went into this expecting a fun read, but it ended up becoming one of my favorite why-choose romances.
I’ve already read it twice, and it somehow hit even harder the second time. Watching Sloane move beyond being someone’s temporary option and find a love that was truly hers felt incredibly satisfying. The chemistry between Sloane, Freddie, and Cole was undeniable, balancing sweet, intense, and heartfelt moments perfectly.
What surprised me most was the emotional depth. Beneath the steam was a story about vulnerability, growth, and three people learning how to fully choose each other. The polyamorous relationship felt authentic and earned, and I especially loved seeing Freddie and Cole navigate their feelings for both Sloane and each other. Combined with the cozy setting and supportive side characters, the story felt warm, grounded, and full of heart.
This book struck the perfect balance between funny, tender, and seriously addictive. I loved watching Sloane find a relationship that respected her boundaries and gave her the love she deserved.
Messy, emotional, and deeply romantic, this is the kind of story that leaves you with the biggest smile at the end!

Huge thank you to the loveliest, Juno Rose North, for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
Number 1 how am I jealous of a fictional character Number 2 this book had absolutely no business being this Hot Number 3 Cole had no business being so hot, he was Daddy and that’s all I’m saying. Every time that man opened his mouth I was panting and audible screaming at what he was gonna say next when he was in scene, his other ego 😮💨let’s jus say I’m obsessed with this man and that is all I can say. Freddie 😍my typical ballsy man I love the growth from where he started to how he changed as a man and omg he got hotter 🤣. The spice in this book made me feral and want more as I continued to read. I was actually unhappy when it ended as I stared at a wall at 3am contemplating what plot could be made so I could have another book of this amazing trio. I would settle for just a novella because this book was that good. When I saw why choose bi awakening I obviously was like let me just read this book and it didn’t disappoint I loved how confident Sloane was in her decision to not engage in a typical monogamous relationship but also made sure communication was at the forefront. No one was strung along, in scenes at the spicy club, communication, boundaries and safe words was spoken about before anything happened and that made the spice in the book so much better. I loved how each character had their chance to show their vunerable side as they fight their inner demons more on society standards. I could write a whole book review about this book because it was so good but I think you should experience it for yourself. I leave this last note I suggest you read book one salt & sweet to truly appreciate this book and you see sloane and meet her character to understand why she is the way she is. All I’m gonna say is where is this spicy club because I need to sign myself up
Spicy Honey was such a fun book to read. I don’t remember the last time I read a book and smiled almost throughout the whole thing. I loved how confident and forward Sloane is with what she wants and needs. A lot of the times FMCs are portrayed as lost little lambs in need of saving but Sloane is absolutely not that. She is assertive and she draws you (and the guys) in. Freddie is such a sweetheart makes you wish you could meet a Freddie in real life! And Cole is an amazingly complex character who is selfless and so giving. To be honest I haven’t always been a huge fan of Why Choose romance involving MM. However, after reading Spicy Honey I realise that I was just not reading the right ones! Cole and Freddie’s storyline isn’t about 2 guys that suddenly realised they were attracted to each other. It’s a deeper love story that is as intense and genuine as the one with the FMC. Spicy honey has the perfect title. Such a sweet and lovely story but it doesn’t shy away from the spice meter and it doesn’t leave you hanging with the steamy scenes. Absolutely loved it. Highly recommend for Why Choose fans and romance readers alike.
This was my first time reading a poly romance and I was expecting drama and jealousy, but this was such a fun, heartwarming read!
There’s lots of very well written spice, but I also enjoyed how all three characters had their own emotional journeys as well. I really bought into the love story and it was refreshing how open and mature they all were.
For me this series is getting better and better, and I can’t wait for Jessie’s story next 😍
This trio has my heart. Lovely to read them coming together & finding their dynamic. I really enjoyed the bi awakening component. It was just a wholesome throuple falling in love peppered with very fun spice.
To quote Freddie, “Green. So much f*cking green.” Juno North has done it again! Her story telling feels effortless and is so easy to read. This book was the perfect sequel to Salt & Sweet. I again got lost in her characters and forgot what time it was every time I picked this book up. Sloane, Freddie, and Cole were all the perfect combinations of everything you want in a why choose story. I can’t recommend this sequel enough. I cannot wait for Jessie’s story next!
I have so so many feelings and thoughts about this book, and I'm sure I'll edit this review and add more. I was a little worried that this one might fall short for me because I loved Salt & Sweet so very much. This has topped it though. More spice, and I do mean SPICE. This book has some definite heat to it, and I loved every single second of it.
I loved all of the characters in this book. I love Sloane, I see some of her in myself (I'm sure a lot of us do) and I really enjoyed the way she learned to accept and let herself relax into who she is. To pull down those walls and let Freddie and Cole in. The friends and family support for her, the patience and care from both Freddie and Cole. It all made me switch back between loved-up-and-mushy and ohmygod-open-the-window-its-too-damn-hot-in-here.
I love how all three of them compliment each others quirks and personalities, and even caught myself thinking this has some definite Pucking Around vibes, and then this pops up..
"What book?" "Oh, it's like the textbook for polyamory. I saw it on TikTok." "There's a textbook?" "It's called Pucking Around." "Pucking Around? You're getting your polyamory advice from hockey smut?" "Oh, you know it? It's fucking hot. I'd recommend it, actually. Not sure why more men aren't reading romance books - it's given me loads of ideas." He waggles his eyebrows suggestively and grins.
I did definitely squeal and kick my feet.
I loved watching the way Cole and Freddie felt out their feelings for each other. It was beautiful to see Freddie be so brave and ask for more. I can't say I blame him though, a Daddy with slutty glasses is IMPOSSIBLE to resist.
I can't even pick a favourite character in this book because I love them all so so much. Except for Sloanes' pig of a father - he can go sit on a cactus. Oh, and while we're talking about side characters - Freddie's beautiful Mum, Carol. I so wish I had a Mum like her. She is unflinchingly accepting and loving of everyone and it is so beautiful to see such a supportive mother figure. It makes total sense why Freddie is the bold, beautiful man he is.
Juno has again written an absolutely amazing book. One that I can definitely see myself re-reading again and again. We get a bit more of Luke and Emmy in this one, which links us nicely to the first book, and seeing more from Jessie was awesome - I can't wait to see what surprises Juno has for us with Jessie's book. I feel like we're going to be in deep with the next one. I was lucky enough to get an arc copy of this book, and I'm so bloody glad that I did. (I'll be buying it anyway, don't worry) Juno - if you see this review, THANK YOU for writing another amazing book, your success is so very well deserved, and thank you for bringing to life such beautiful characters - its such a bummer they're not real people.
The first polyamorous book I’ve read & I found it so beautiful. The love between these 3 is just wonderful. The character development was so lovely to see & I really feel like I learnt so much about a world I’ve no knowledge or experience of. Sloane is as wonderful as you think she’d be after reading book 1. Freddie is just so bloody lovable & kind & full of love to give. Cole, the caretaker & daddy. I think i loved him the most. The way he quietly loved Freddie for so so long!
4.5 ⭐️ 3.5 🌶️ Will have you laughing crying & blushing sometimes all at once. Lovely read & I CAN NOT wait for book number 3
Thank you so much for selecting me to read an ARC copy 🫶🏼
Favorite quotes: ‘Love comes in all shapes & sizes & sexuality is a spectrum.’
‘I will always love you, no matter what. I don’t mind if you come home with a whole harem. Anyone you care about will have a place in my life. You just have to tell me how many Yorkshires I’m making.’
‘Freddie might have fallen first, but I am jumping in right after him.’
Absolutely f***ing excellent! What a triumph. Sloane was beloved by all following Salt & Sweet and with a character like that there’s a risk of doing their story an injustice. Well, that has not happened here, I’ve somehow enjoyed Spicy Honey even more!! North teaches those of us unfamiliar with certain aspects gently and maturely, same as she did with book 1. The scenes where they visited Brighton were definitely my favourite. I loved both the boys but Daddy Cole has my heart! Thanks for the ARC Juno - what a second novel this is
I was lucky enough to recieve an ARC copy of Spicy Honey and I had a great time! Such a fun and heartwarming story topped off with a good helping of spice!
Meet Sloane the black cat FMC who has realised that being a unicorn is not all as sparkly as it seems. Freddie Lane, happy, go lucky with his golden retriever vibes and my favourite, Mr Slutty Little Glasses himself (and his delicious mouth), Cole.
This book will you laughing, gasping and shimmy those shoulders in delight!
I finish this masterpiece yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about it. After reading the first book in The Salt Collection “Salt & Sweet” I was so curious about Sloan and I must say: Juni Rose North delivered with the second book! Getting addicted to Sloan, Freddie and Cole was so easy. I ate this book up and loved it even more than the first book. The dynamic between the 3 of them was amazing. This was the first book I’ve ever read that was a MMF romance and I was so surprised that I liked it sooo much.
Read this if you love…spicy and sweet books. FMM relationship. Sex club. ADHD rep. Three point of view chapters. Talented painter.
Juno’s writing is so addictive and once I’d opened this book I didn’t want to put it down. After ARC reading Salt and Sweet I’ve been a huge fan of them! It’s romance genre but with a twist. I loved the mental health representation in Salt and Sweet and the characters we got to know. Loooove that we got a character appearance or two that we already know in this book 👀
In Spicy honey we follow Sloane’s story who is Emmy’s roommate. We get an orgasm in the first five minutes after we meet both Freddie and Cole. They still don’t know her name yet and Freddie is determined to do everything he can to get her to tell him it. I loved that we had each main characters pov in chapters. It meant we got to know them individually as well as a trio. Spicy, wholesome and so sweet.
Shout out to Freddie’s mum because she’s the best 🥹
I can’t wait for Jessie’s story! She intrigues so much and deserves a huge love story
“It’s chapter one, Cole. Of what I hope is going to be a wild and unforgettable story.”
Wow! I didn’t think this was going to beat book 1, but wow Juno!! Girlll, you smashed this out of the park!
I went into this book not knowing if I would like the relationship dynamic of Sloane, Cole & Freddie; but I absolutely loved it! I loved learning new terminology about their relationship!
I also like the fact that we see people accept them for their relationship, Carole is just a diamond! I was not expecting Harry to react how he did either!!
There is a lot of spice in this book, which is described amazingly, and thoughtfully!
Overall, 5/5, would definitely recommend to anyone who likes a spicy romance!
Would like to say a massive thank you to Juno for letting me be an ARC reader again! 🫶🏻
It had the perfect amount of spice and incredible chemistry between the characters.
After reading the first book in the series and being introduced to Sloane, I knew she needed her own story.
The relationship between Sloane, Freddie, and Cole was beautifully written. It was wonderful to watch Sloane’s walls gradually come down and to see the growth each character experienced throughout the story.
I particularly enjoyed Freddie’s journey as he comes to terms with his growing feelings for Cole. His development felt authentic and emotionally engaging.
This is a lovely story of acceptance, self-discovery, and awakening, told with heart and sensitivity.
I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to read this as an ARC, and I’ll definitely be purchasing a physical copy to sit alongside the first book on my shelf.
When I say this book had me giggling on a train I mean it!! I was lucky to get an ARC for the book and I simply loved it. This is definitely one of my top reads for this year.
This is the 2nd book is the Salt Collection. This can be read as a standalone.
Sloane is tried of being the unicorn to couples’ fantasy and is just done with the hookup scene. When at Salt catching up with friends in walks in Freddie. After having a disappointing date she is not in the mood to be hit on but Freddie just doesn’t know when to quiet.
Freddie sees Sloane from across the room as is lost on her at first sight. But he is here with his best friend Cole and doesn’t want to just leave him hanging.
Cole sees the reaction that Freddie has for Sloane and knows this is going to be interesting. When Freddie please to see if Cole can get Sloane to have a drink with them he caved and see what he can do.
Sloane has been eyeing the two of them from where she is and when Cole walks up she is taken back. What is the worst that can happen?
This was emotionally as well as super hot and I can’t wait to see more of all the characters is this series. This author is now on my auto buy list!!
I love this book so much! I knew from the first book that Sloane’s story would be super hot, and this exceeded my expectations! The dynamic between Sloane, Freddie and Cole is so authentic and joyful, and the spice is 🥵
Juno has done it again a perfect book focusing on love and respect with the perfect amount of spice. Sloane's journey to accept herself fully is so relatable
While reading Salt & Sweet, I fell in love with Sloane's character and was eager to read her story. This book is so good! I love Freddie's golden retriever energy. He's sweet and the perfect partner. Cole is quiet and caring. His friendship with Freddie is everything. The three of them are perfect for each other, and it was amazing to watch their relationship develop.
I could not be more obsessed with this book and this series more!! I absolutely devoured these two books and thought they were so well done and still had plenty of plot right along all the smut!! Can’t wait for what’s to come in this series in the future!!
***ARC received from author in exchange for my honest review***
Simply sublime! I knew following on from Salt&Sweet that this was going to be good. I was not disappointed!!
A fantastic MMF Poly Romance with very likeable and relatable characters, great spice, banter and tenderness. Sloane (FMC) is sexy, sassy and confident, but we see glimpses of vulnerability and get to know what makes her tic, which is lovely. Freddie (MMC) is all golden retriever energy and I love him! He jumps in with both feet and when he starts to realise he has feelings for Cole, we get to go through the processing of that with him. Cole (MMC) embodies Daddy energy and his love for Freddie (and how long he has loved him, even through their platonic friendship) is really beautiful 😍
All of the characters are really well rounded, it's just a shame we don't get more of their story (please Juno, give us more)
A perfect feelgood, empowering and emotional book that will get you right in the feels.
Easy 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 read that I will definitely be coming back to.
Can't wait for Jessie's story!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book has become one of my favourite stories because it is so emotionally intelligent, and I have to continually remind myself that these men were created by a woman.
If you swoon over a man that makes consent sexy, if you love a bad ass female main character, who knows what she wants and men who support her with some of the spiciest scenes, I’ve read in a while than this book is for you. This book is a 10 out of 10.
What a follow up to Salt & Sweet! This book was just fun. I had a great time reading it. Not going to lie, the scene where Cole winks at Freddy from behind Sloane (iykyk) is playing on repeat in my head! This book is spicy yes, and it should be given its title, but it is so much more than that. Juno has a way of capturing the unique insecurities and tribulations of being a modern woman. She nailed it with Emmy in the first book and again this time with Sloane. What I was not expecting was how well she captured Freddy and Cole, without one chracter taking over the story too much. I did not know I was going to enjoy the throuple dynamic as much as I did. I found myself laughing and cheering for them. Her writing is engaging and she discusses hot topics and controversies without being heavy handed. You will become invested in these characters and the universe so I suggest you read book one, but you can read this as a stand-alone (but why miss out on Daddy Dom, Luke?) I cannot wait for the next book in this series, but Iwould read anything Juno puts out.
Cute, heartwarming and relatable! (spoilers ahead)
(spoilers ahead!)
Freddie's ADHD-ness is so real 😭 absolutely on point, it was like reading about myself from the hyper fixation to the timekeeping issues. I loooove the modern pop culture references - Pedro pascal's daddy mindset, she's in her princess era, slutty little glasses a la Jonathan Bailey... Sloane's self confidence crisis is so relatable. The relationship that forms is just so heartwarming. No third act breakup, and lots of spice!
What’s it about? -this is the 2nd book in a series of interconnected standalones, it follows Sloane, and American in London, who is a ‘unicorn’ aka the third one in couples threesome fantasies. However lately she feels that’s not enough for her anymore but she’s also not sure if she’s looking for love either. Enter Freddie who she runs into at Salt, a members only sex club. Freddie is immediately enamoured by her but the only problem is she wants a poly relationship. Freddie’s best mate Cole is openly bisexual and has been burying his feelings for Freddie as long as he can remember. Sloane, Freddie & Cole all agree to give dating a go and they both fall for Sloane but slowly Freddie is also starting to see Cole in a new light..
-okay so this was such a wholesome and cute read. I liked Sloane she was a sassy and assertive fmc with a take no shit attitude, Cole’s daddy energy was hot 🥵 but for me the star of the show was Freddie 😮💨 I’m absolutely feral for him! he was just such a happy go lucky character and just the ultimate golden retriever 🥹 the way Juno wrote his bi-awakening and him slowly starting to notice Cole in a different light and then finally realising his true feelings for him was just so beautifully written! 😭💜 I can’t believe this is only her 2nd book because both of them have been so well written with character development that just draws you in 🤌🏻 also soooo many funny moments where I was laughing out loud and the spice was great so the name definitely lives up to it 🤣🔥
So glad to have read this arc and I’m very much looking forward to reading the 3rd book which will be coming out later this year!
Juno, Juno, Juno, you’ve done it again. Sloane, Freddie and Cole are stunning. I’m so deeply jealous of Sloane it’s crazy, I want to be her. Freddie my sweet cocky golden retriever with his bisexual awakening. Love you. Cole shocked me, did not expect daddy vibes from him but I’m not mad about it at all, his slutty little glasses can order me around the bedroom any day of the week. I love the world of Salt, it allows a safe place to explore new desires and fantasies. Who’d have thought olive oil could be so sexy. The cameos from other characters from the series were so lively when they popped in for a visit. I think Freddie’s mum won the award for best side character in this book. She’s an absolute queen!! The smut was smutting but in such a delicious way I ate it all up. Bring on Jessie’s story next, can’t wait.
Spicy Honey is the very spicy sequel to Salt and Sweet. This is for all those “why choose” fans as it is a MMF. Freddie is adorable and Cole is amazing too. I also love how supportive certain characters were in this book. There are plenty of “firsts” for the characters in this book while being literally filled with spice from start to finish. Thank you so much for the digital ARC.
Read this for: -romance -throuple (MMF) -bi-awakening -golden retriever mmc -soft dom mmc -black cat fmc -slutty little glasses -s*x club -found family
I received an ARC copy of this book and enjoyed it just as much as the first one. The characters are fab and the story was paced well. I enjoyed the 3 points of view 🫶
Overall rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This together with 'Salt and Sweet', book one of The Salt Collection, has been some of my favorite books of 2026!
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Three hot, sensual chilis for spicy scenes that are filled with emotion, sensuality, and just some really hot MMF sex with a little twist of kink .
This was such a great book and I love so many things about it from the writing, to the vibe, the amazing cast of characters, great romance, spice that is spicing and a lot about self acceptance and three authentic people being so incredibly brave in their pursuit of their HEA! 🩷
Our three protagonists: 🐈⬛ Sloane 🐈⬛ (our resident hot pansexual girl from book one) Sloane was already introduced as this amazing and brilliant openminded woman from the US and play an important part in book one of the series. Sloane prefers her sexual encounters hot, no strings attached and preferably with multiple partners, as such she has been acting as a unicorn for a lot of hot threesome encounters, but lately being the third wheel has lost it's sparkles. 🦄
🐕 Freddie Lane 🐕 If sunshine and a golden retriever ever were to have a lovechild, that lovechild would be Freddie! ☀️ Freddie is a happy go lucky guy, but with so much heart, depth and love for his people that you can't help but fall heads over heels for him. He immediately notices Sloane and their first encounter is... memorable to say the least! 🥵 His best friend is Cole, and let me tell you, these two make the most delicious and complementary pair!
👓 Cole Avery 👓 What can I say, this guy is that scrumptious mix of slighty introverted, a bit nerdy, a lot sexy and a whole lotta hot hidden soft dom vibes! 🫠 Cole is a creative, caring soul, who has secretly been pining forever for Freddie, but never acting on it out of fear to loose their friendship, and because Freddie is straight(-ish).
I love the way Juno's characters feels so incredibly real, the dialogue is easy and incredibly clever with lots of banter and sharp observations and overall the writing is just incredibly easy to read (in the best way possible) and draws out characters, atmosphere and feeling.
There are some tropes in the book by I feel like Juno beautifully navigates them all and make them her own and doesn't walk into any of the pitfalls that are associated with some tropes. At certain points I was sure the throuple was going to face a lot of bias and discrimination and it was amazing to see a refreshing take with support and people who had their back, it honestly was really uplifting.
Sloane as an FMC with her background could easily have become this oversexualised woman with daddy issues and miscommunication trope. But rather she is a self aware woman, that takes accountability while also being incredibly relatable, fallible and in the end, human. I can't rave enough about Sloane, but also Emmy from book one too, Juno's female characters feel like a love letter to women and them embracing themselves, mistakes and all! The found family in this series is heartwarming.
The spice to plot ratio hits perfectly and the story, the characters and the spice work well together to create the ultimate page turner and I can't wait to see what other stories and characters Juno will grace with in The Salt Collection series! I do know that in just two books Juno Rose North has managed to become an auto buy author, if she wrote it, I am reading it!
❤️ MMF ❤️ADHD Rep ❤️ Golden Retriever MMC ❤️ Soft Dom MMC 🖤 Black Cat FMC ❤️ Smex Club ❤️ Found Family ❤️ Bi-awakening (yay!) ❤️ Sex positive
