There are three things I will never do (again) in my life: 1. Agree to be filmed doing something stupid 2. Let someone else decide if I’m worthy 3. Fall in love
Four years ago, I went viral in a moment that earned me the nickname The Wedding Wrecker. I’ve been in hiding at a closed winery with a small group of other accidentally viral women ever since.
But the winery is in financial trouble, and we’re taking every opportunity we get to try to save it.
Including agreeing to be the focus of a documentary about re-opening.
Unfortunately, the documentarian is my ex’s best friend.
My ex’s best friend who always hated me with the passion of a million angry internet users.
But if it’ll save our home, then fine. I’ll tolerate Declan Fox again.
Except the Declan I last knew four years ago is different.
Kinder.
Less arrogant.
More charming.
Unexpectedly attractive.
And finally free to tell me that he’s always loved me.
Thanks, life. I really needed this plot twist.
While You Were Trending is a funny, feel-good romance featuring a retired hockey star who’s always come in second, the world’s most infamous former child reality star, and an unbreakable sisterhood. It’s perfect for readers who love second chances and need a reminder that we can always be the person we want to be.
Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.
This is the second book in this series. Reading the first book would be really helpful but this could be read as a standalone. I really loved this one. The multicast narration was AMAZING and the characters are genuinely lovable. I cannot wait for the third in series!
Tropes: RomCom, Found Family, Ex’s Best Friend, He Falls First, It’s Always Been You, Forced Proximity, Hurt/Comfort
Multicast Narration by: Samantha Brentmoor Connor Crais with Kristyna Zaharek and Jason Clarke
If you're in the mood for a rom-com THIS IS FOR YOU!
Set at a winery that's a safe haven and escape for everyone who has gone viral, it's perfectly set up for drama and hilarious situations. (this is the second book in the series and I just jumped in to read this one and had no problems at all!)
Read this when you're in the mood for... - rom com - forced proximity - her ex's best friend - DRAMA
This is the second book in the Accidentally Infamous series. The story takes place at a winery that acts as an escape for people who have gone viral and need somewhere to reset.
Ginny and Declan were good main characters to follow. I liked seeing how Ginny grew as the story progressed and how Declan was patient with her.
Where the romance was concerned I did find it a little frustrating. It was both really slow to develop, yet really rushed at the same time.
Although I enjoyed this fun and heartwarming story, I didn’t like it nearly as much as I liked the first book in the series.
Read this if you like: 🎥 Enemies to lovers 💕 Best friend’s ex 🎥 Forced proximity 💕 Ex hockey player 🎥 Small town
Thank you @IngramSparkBooks for the gifted copy of the book.
DNF. Maybe it's my fault for not reading the other books in this series first. I'm 56 pages in and I just can't read anymore of the silliness or care to figure out what's going on here. From all the positive reviews this book has high appeal. Unfortunately it's just not for me.
This was such a fun and heartwarming read! I loved the unique concept of a winery that serves as a safe haven for women who have gone viral online and need a place to escape the spotlight, heal, and start over. It was such a refreshing take on the “found family” trope, and I loved getting to know all of the women who called the winery home.
Ginny was a wonderful FMC. She grew up as a child star in a family reality show. And after going viral later as an adult as “The Wedding Wrecker,” she has been hiding away at the closed winery, trying to rebuild her life away from the judgment and attention of the internet. I really enjoyed watching her find her confidence again and learn that she doesn’t have to hide who she really is.
Declan was such a great MMC. As a retired hockey star and Ginny’s ex’s best friend, he could have easily been complicated in all the wrong ways, but instead he was attentive, kind, and genuinely supportive. I loved watching his and Ginny’s relationship develop. Their history made things messy, but they worked through the complications and found a way to make things work.
One of my favorite parts of the book was Ginny’s friendships with the other women at the winery. Their bond, support, and loyalty to each other really brought the story to life. And of course, I can’t forget Flow the dog! She was an absolute delight and stole every scene she was in!
This was my first book by Pippa Grant and my first book in this series, even though it’s technically the second book. I had no trouble jumping into the story, but I’m definitely going back to read the first book soon!
Thank you to Pippa Grant for providing me with an ARC and ALC of this book. I had such a great time reading it!
Another funny book from Pippa. The cast of characters is wacky, the animals are adorable and out of control, the friendships are incredible. And, of course, the talk of food always makes me hungry. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal cookies, chicken tenders: yes, thank you.
Thank you to Pippa for providing me with an early copy of the ebook and audiobook!
Pippa is quickly becoming one of those authors whose books I know will make me smile, laugh, and leave me feeling good by the end, and this book was no exception.
I had so much fun with this story! The full cast audiobook was fantastic, and I highly recommend doing an immersive read if you can, it made the experience even more enjoyable.
One of my favorite parts was Declan. He spent so much of his life feeling like the backup plan or an afterthought, so it was incredibly satisfying to watch him realize he deserved to be someone's first choice. I also loved seeing him and Ginny reconnect. As Ginny tried to move forward from the public image that had followed her for years, Declan became someone she could lean on and encouraged her to stop letting the opinions of strangers define her.
The romance was sweet, funny, and easy to root for, and I loved the found family feel at the winery and the strong female friendships throughout the story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Declan is a TOTAL green flag and I seriously adored him! 💚 Protective, attentive, supportive, and completely in Ginny’s corner, he spent this entire book showing her just how wonderful she was and reminding her that she was worthy of being loved exactly as she was. And honestly? My he owned my heart.
I loved Ginny’s character growth so much. After being humiliated time and time again for an audience by the one person who should have loved her unconditionally, watching her slowly find her confidence again was beautiful. I couldn't help but cheer for her strength in finding herself! Loving that Declan was there every step of the way and it just made this relationship so much more engaging for me and absolutely had me wanting them to be together!
And Declan’s PINING. 👀 Watching him pine for Ginny and then finally decide to just GO FOR IT had me cheering him on like I personally had a stake in this relationship. 😂
But honestly, one of my favorite things about this series continues to be this completely chaotic found family. They are fiercely loyal, ridiculously protective, and just the right amount of unhinged. I am so drawn to them! And Aunt Pip? I need more Aunt Pip in my life because I absolutely cannot get enough of her.
Ginny’s mom, on the other hand... I REALLY disliked her, which I’m pretty sure means Pippa Grant did exactly what she intended.
I also loved all the name drops and cameos from some of Pippa’s other books. Those little connections always make me smile, and of course we can’t forget the animals! They have minds of their own and somehow manage to add an entirely different kind of magic and chaos to the story.
I enjoyed this book SO much. This series just keeps getting better and better, and I am already ridiculously excited for book three! thank you to Pippa for the ARC copy of this book!
A swoony romance, an absolute green-flag hero, a heroine finding her confidence, and a found family I want to adopt myself. What’s not to love? 💚
The Accidentally Infamous series keeps getting better and better! You've Got Hate Mail was my introduction to Pippa Grant. Now, I can say without a doubt that I'm hooked on the way she writes about thoughtful topics and life experiences that make you think and feel, banter that leaves you laughing out loud, and found family who steal your heart.
I adore a man who's not only down bad but has been secretly, undercover down bad for years. This is our MMC Declan to a T, and I melted every time he pined for Ginny, made her feel special, lifted her up, stood up for her, and did everything possible to show her that she was the most important thing in his world *squee*
Declan has had a thing for Ginny since he met her through his best friend, Alex. However, since Alex got the girl, he put distance between them, hiding his feelings with snark and cold shoulders, and hurting Ginny in the process. Now, years later, he's back in her life, trying to show her how special she is and to prove to her that he never hated her. Once he realizes that he needs to confess why he treated her so poorly and bare his heart to her, how will she take it? Will she allow him in or push him out?
🍷 What do you do when the guy who hated your guts during your rock-bottom viral disaster suddenly reappears, looking unexpectedly attractive and confessing he’s always been in love with you? You panic, obviously! 😱❤️
I just finished reading While You Were Trending by Pippa Grant, and let me tell you, my heart is still spinning! If you love enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and the absolute chaos of second chances, this book needs to go straight to the top of your TBR list.
Here’s the setup: Four years ago, our heroine earned the internet's worst moniker, "The Wedding Wrecker," after a viral disaster ruined her life. Ever since, she’s been hiding out at a quiet, secluded winery with a group of other accidentally viral women. But when the winery hits financial trouble, they agree to star in a documentary to help save their home.
The catch? The documentarian sent to film them is Declan Fox. Her ex’s best friend. The guy who used to despise her with the intensity of a thousand angry comment sections.
Only four years have passed, and Declan isn't the arrogant jerk she remembers. He’s kinder, ridiculously charming, and ready to drop the ultimate plot twist: he’s actually been in love with her this whole time. 🫠🔥
This book is pure, unadulterated fun with so much heart. The banter between Declan and our heroine is off-the-charts electric, and the sisterhood among the viral women living at the winery adds such a warm, hilarious dynamic to the whole story. Watching Declan work to earn her trust and her heart while she tries desperately to stick to her "no falling in love" rule had me kicking my feet! It’s funny, swoony, deeply emotional, and impossible to put down.
THANK YOU to Pippa Grant for sharing an early copy of While You Were Trending with me! 💖
🎁 GIVEAWAY ALERT! Keep an eye out on my feed very soon because a fun giveaway for this incredible book is coming your way! You are not going to want to miss it! 🥳✨
If there is one thing I know, it’s that Pippa Grant is always going to give me a book I can laugh with & characters I will absolutely love! This one was no different!!
I was lucky enough to receive the audio for this book & it was perfect!! Connor Crais, Samantha Brentmoor, & the rest of the full cast just brought so much humor and emotion to this story!!
This series has had the best found family & friend group! I have just been loving these characters. Book 1 was so good, but I think I loved this one even more!! Ginny & Declan just had my heart from the beginning! Both in the spotlight of social media, but for very different reasons. Ginny is struggling with her past as a child star & also a very viral moment gone wrong. Declan is our former hockey star focused on filming a documentary for the town winery.
These two definitely have a past & not one in the best light, but knowing how many feelings Declan harbored for Ginny & watching it all unfold from the enemies to lovers vibes just absolutely had me swooning! These two had so much banter & chemistry together!! & boy did the heat between them spice up this book!!
If you’re looking for a rom com that will have you swooning, cackling, and falling head over heels in love with so many of the characters, this is definitely for you!! I have absolutely loved this series so far & I definitely recommend!!
Thank you Pippa Grant for the early copies of this book!!
Declan is the best friend of Ginny's ex boyfriend. He's always been so rude to her and seemed like he hated her. But little does she know, that's completely wrong. When Declan ends up filming a documentary at the winery she's living at, she gets to see the side of him she's never seen before. He is a total green flag and I seriously adored him. He was protective, attentive and so incredibly supportive of Ginny. The character growth in Ginny was beautiful. After being humiliated time and time again, I loved seeing her get her confidence back and Declan was by her side every step of the way. These two had some undeniable chemistry and I was seriously invested in their relationship.
I absolutely love this little found family. They're so loyal & protective of each other and it really is just so sweet. I've said it before but Pippa Grant is a rom-com queen so you know this book isn't short on humor! My goodness, I am seriously loving this series so much.
🎧 This was a full cast narration with Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais as Ginny & Declan. Then we also had Stella Hunter & Kristyna Zaharek who voiced multiple side characters. Let me tell you... this is a TALENTED cast of narrators. Like, they were all amazing. This audiobook was a complete experience and I absolutely devoured it.
Thank you to Pippa Grant & team for this e-ARC/ALC. All opinions are my own.
4.5⭐️ Made my way back to the winery that also doubles as a commune of sorts for women needing to take a step away from the world due to unexpected online infamy.
This is Ginny and Declan’s story and I was fully invested the moment we got a different Declan than Ginny was expecting. In their past life, he was her ex’s best friend and he wasn’t always the nicest to her. Here, he’s a completely different man. Retired from hockey, filming a documentary on the rehabilitation of the winery, and quietly pining for the woman he could never have.
This boy was so down bad and it was evident. I adored the tension between the two, the eventual honesty that ignited their chemistry. Pippa wrote their romance perfectly.
Naturally, we’ve got the entire cast of characters from the first book. Aunt Pip is back with her shenanigans and I’m still in love with her. (Pippa, please give us -at minimum- a novella from Pip’s POV. She completely cracks me up.) Lavender is still the most astute child around. This particular read added Flow, Declan’s adorable canine companion and she was the bestest girl ever.
I liked the first one, I liked this one a little more. I’m fully on board for this series, and can’t wait for the next one!
If you’re looking for a laugh-out-loud rom-com, this series IS FOR YOUUUU!!!
what to expect: *1st person *dual POV *found family (at its absolute finest) *NO 3rd act breakup or miscommunication trope TY JESUS🙏 *emotionally mature MMC 🫡 *nudist, saucy old lady side character 😂 *chaotic/loveable animal sidekicks *so much banter
I CANNOT get enough of these characters. Yes, it’s a rom-com. Yes, there’s an HEA and you pretty much know where we’re headed. But somehow Mama Pippa keeps coming up with the most ridiculous situations and I am sat!
Also can we PLEASE take a moment to appreciate a MMC who communicates???!!! And no random 3rd act breakup just because we’re at 80% and apparently everyone has to suddenly forget how to speak to each other?? THANK YOU.
The found family is probably my favorite part of this whole series though. I’m attached to all of them. Even the animals (especially the animals). 🫣
Imagine hiding from the internet for FOUR YEARS… only to have your ex’s best friend show up with a camera. 😬📹
📚 While You Were Trending by Pippa Grant
✨ ex’s best friend ✨ he’s always loved her ✨ retired hockey player ✨ forced proximity ✨ found sisterhood ✨ healing & starting over ✨ documentary shenanigans
After becoming infamous as “The Wedding Wrecker,” Ginny has spent years hiding at a winery that’s become a safe haven for women whose worst moments went viral.
I loved watching Ginny slowly reclaim her confidence and realize that she doesn’t have to let strangers on the internet decide who she gets to be. 💕
And Declan surprised me in the best way. He’s attentive, patient, supportive... and has been carrying feelings for Ginny for YEARS. Apparently being her ex’s best friend wasn’t complicated enough. 😂
But once again, one of my favorite parts of this series is the women at the winery. Their friendship, loyalty, and determination to protect the home they’ve created together give these books so much heart.
And Flow the dog? Scene stealer. No notes. 🐶
Funny, sweet, and surprisingly thoughtful, this was another reminder that Pippa Grant can give me ridiculous situations AND characters with something meaningful to say.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
QOTD: Could you forgive someone who spent years pretending they didn’t like you… only to discover they were secretly in love with you? 👀
The concept of a rehab/recovery home for people who went viral for the absolute wrong reasons is absolutely GENIUS and why I keep coming back for the series! I am so happy we got another pet POV epilogue!!
𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦: ♥︎ a rehab of sorts for the accidentally internet famous (not the good famous) ♥︎ bff’s ex-gf x ex-bf’s bff ♥︎ he’s loved her for years ♥︎ ex pro hockey player turned influencer mmc ♥︎ former child reality tv star fmc ♥︎ found family ♥︎ forced proximity ♥︎ small town ♥︎ the one, the only — aunt pip!
I had a great time listening to this one. Pippa’s comedic timing is spot on, she doesn’t go for the obvious joke, she picks the perfect times for the funny which makes it even funnier.
We are back in Sonoma, with Aunt Pip and the gang. This time it’s Ginny’s turn for her HEA. After spending her whole life in the spotlight she has finally found peace, and then Declan walks in. The rest is pure Pippa magic.
This world she has created is filled with hilarious characters and moments that you will not be able to forget. With humor, heart and the perfect amount of heat Pippa writes stories I can’t stop reading. Don’t miss out on this one.
I seriously LOVE this series! It’s so much fun, the characters are amazing, and every book feels like hanging out with your favorite chaotic friends. 😂
This one focuses on Jenny and Declan. Jenny and her friends are hosting Declan while he films a documentary about the opening of the winery. And of course, all our favorite characters are back. Yes, this includes a cat, chickens, and a dog!
Jenny has to work through some old insecurities, while Declan realizes he’s falling harder than ever for his past love. Add in a mystery donor, grapes that desperately need picking 🍇, and plenty of romance, and you’ve got another winner!🍷
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️.5 Book 2 in the Accidentally Infamous series focuses on Ginny, second-longest resident, and Declan, former hockey player and Ginny’s ex’s best friend…. This romcom had me laughing just as much as the first book, with the character’s wittiness, banter, and unique personalities. I also loved that Declan had been secretly pining for Ginny for the last decade almost, and when the tension finally snaps, their relationship blossoms. Ginny is relatable as she’s hesitant to trust and second guesses other’s intentions (and rightfully so). Both Declan and Ginny bring out the best in each other, and I think that’s admirable and something we all should look for in relationships, platonic or romantic. If you’re looking for a feel-good romcom with a found family dynamic, add this series to your tbr ASAP! Thank you again Pippa for my arc and alc! 🫶
I love this found family at the winery. Jenny and Declan have some history, but I liked watching them admit things from the past. Jenny’s mom was ridiculous, top tier stage mom!! I think I enjoyed this book even more than the first one; Pip was still a riot, and Flow was a great pet add on! Now I can’t wait for Mabel and Tenn’s story, because you know there is something juicy there! The narration was perfection, even the epilogue from Flow!
Ok this was such an amazing book and I was sneaking reading time whenever I could! It was so hard to put down cause I was rooting so hard for the characters to figure out their lives and be happy! The continuing story of the winery opening was so fun to continue seeing and I’m so excited for the next book to see how it continues!
Best part of the book was Flow and her caring personality 💕
Oh my goodness Jenny and Declan are so cute! In true Pippa Grant fashion this book has you giggling the whole time. Jenny is still traumatized from her past and what made her go viral over, watching her, overcome her fears and believe in herself again and believe in love just made your heart smile. Declan is so stinking sweet and genuine. I love that he has had a crush on her since forever and that he would do anything to for her. I am honestly so sucked in on the series. I can’t wait for the next book.
The premise behind this series is great and the characters strong. I love Pippa’s books, particularly the thrusters/fireballs/bro code books. Despite the strengths of the story though, I’m finding that the writing is so choppy - lots of single sentences without flow - that I find it hard to absorb the story. I’ve noticed this in the last few Pippa books I’ve read, a real change in style from her previous works. Great premise, strong story, good characters (apart from the auntie who is just….!!) but the change in style recently isn’t for me.
The whole Pip confusing every statement and turning it into something stupid got pretty tired half way through the first book. It was downright unbearable in this one.
Ginny's been hiding out here at this haven for those who've unwillingly gone viral, but when Declan arrives, it sparks a change. He's her ex's best friend, the ex whose wedding she tried to crash when she went viral in the most humiliating way. Declan never approved of her as her ex's girlfriend, and he treated her as such. So why's he here now acting all nice and kind and not a dick? Does he have some ulterior motive, like the documentary she and the women at the winery have only agreed to because they need the money? Or does he have some feelings she was never aware of before?
Declan could never bring himself to tell Ginny how he really felt about her while she was dating his best friend. So he pushed her away by being a colossal dick to her. He was there when she tried to crash Alex's wedding, when she accidentally went viral, and it's bothered him ever since. But now he's found her and he's determined to be better, do better, by her. And just maybe he can tell her how he really feels, and just maybe she might reciprocate his pining.
Pippa's rom coms are some of my favorites, but I honestly think Ginny and Declan have them all topped. Declan is absolutely the sweetest golden retriever of a man, so attentive and down so incredibly bad for Ginny. He was doing everything possible to show her he wasn't the guy he'd been who treated her so badly before. Thankfully it worked and Ginny finally started to realize her own feelings and that Declan was really the good guy she'd never known he was before. Both of them have strong character growth, and I was cheering them on as Ginny's confidence grew and Declan's did also. Ginny has the best support network at the winery, all her girls, Heath, and Lavender's cat and now Declan's dog. Declan too has this amazing group - his sassy, loveable brother Zander and Zander's drag crew and his hockey buddies. The found family and support network in this series are so beautiful the way they love each other, it's part of why I love this series so much so far. Ginny and Declan, though, are my favorite part of their story. The way they evolve from enemies of a sort, to wary acceptance to full on in love is heartfelt, sweet and funny. I can't wait for Mabel and Ginny's brother Ten (Tennessee) to fall in love next when How to Troll a Guy in Ten Days releases.
Our story begins with Ginny, a former child reality TV star, four years ago she also went viral for trying to stop her ex-boyfriend’s wedding in an unforgettable moment that earned her the nickname “the wedding wrecker”, could a person die of mortification? Maybe? She went into hiding after that and has been living in a winery with a group of other women who have also accidentally gone viral. Unfortunately the winery is in financial trouble, so all of them are willing to do anything it takes to try and save it, that includes agreeing to film a documentary about it’s re-opening. As only the universe would have it the documentarian is no other than Ginny’s ex-boyfriend’s best friend.
In comes Declan, a retired hockey player who has always had to pretend to hate her with the passion of a million internet trolls, only it’s just an act, he’s been in love with her since he first laid eyes on her, but she’s off limits, she’s his best friend’s ex, so he’s always had to keep his distance before he did something he would regret and that would inevitably lead him to losing both of them. As soon as Declan sees Ginny it’s like no time has passed, sparks fly, all the chemistry and love he’s always felt for her comes rushing back (if we’re being honest: it never truly left) which is why he needs to try and keep things professional no matter what, except he’s done pretending he hates her, he decides he needs to make amends and set the record straight.
Ginny is in for the biggest plot twist of her life the Declan she thought she knew four years ago is gone, in his place is a kinder, less arrogant, more charming, attractive man who’s telling her he’s always loved her… the more time they spend together the blurrier the lines between them get, feelings start to change and things get significantly more complicated…
Let me start by saying I loved this book! I was fortunate enough to not only receive an ARC but also an ALC, this was a full cast narration with Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais as Ginny and Declan, the narrators did an incredible job at bringing all of the characters to life and made this an engaging and immersive experience that I truly adored! The story was amazing, hilarious and heartfelt all at the same time, the found family in this book was outstanding, I loved that everyone was so fiercely protective of each other and the way it was written had me feeling like I was a part of the family. I also loved the banter and chemistry between our main characters Ginny and Declan, they had me kicking my feet and giggling the entire time while rooting for them to work things out.
I also really enjoyed the character growth on both of our main characters, but the change in Ginny was incredible, after being humiliated time and time again by her narcissistic mother while the whole world was watching seeing her get her confidence back and realize that she doesn’t have to change herself to earn anyone’s love but instead that love is something to be given freely had me crying literal happy tears because it’s a reminder we could all use.
Favorite Quotes: 🎥“Don’t do it, my brain tells my heart. Don’t fall for her again. This isn’t a second chance. This is a job.”
🍷“And now I know how right it was to keep her at a distance when Alex was dating her. Because one taste of Ginny, and I know. I know I’ll never want anyone else. Even when she’ll never want me back.”
🐾“Kissing Declan is like finding where I belong.”
While you were trending is a feel good romance about second chances, emotional growth and forgiveness, found family, lovable characters, banter and soooo much yearning! After finishing the book I immediately wanted to reach for the next book in the Accidentally Infamous series, I can’t wait for Ten and Mabel’s story! This was my first Pippa Grant book and it certainly won’t be my last! Thank you so much to Pippa Grant & her team for the amazing story, the e-ARC / ALC and paperback!
