This is book twenty two in the "Eva Rae Thomas Mystery" series but they never get stale. This story in written over two timelines, two separate stories which do not connect until the very end, a concept that Willow Rose excels at.
When Ray Donovan went down to the Indian River to do some early morning fishing, it wasn't a fish he pulled from the water, it was a body, a body of a young woman, a young woman without a face.
Ex FBI profiler, Eva Rae Thomas and her long time partner, ex detective Matt Miller, had opened up a PI agency, predominantly to help the wrongly accused. Eva Rae and Matt were asked to consult on the case of the body without a face, the police quickly had a suspect but Eva Rae wasn't convinced.
The Thomas and Miller lives were in chaos at the moment, they had hardly opened the packing cases in their new office, the father of their daughter Christine's baby, was filing for total custody stating that Eva Rae was unstable, the household was in chaos and that they had a dangerous child living with them, he had the backing of his ultra wealthy parents with friends in high places, but mostly his controlling mother.
Eva Rae and Matt had fostered Tommy, Tommy had been traumatised, he had seen things that no child should ever see, Tommy needed constant therapy to pull him from the dark places, places no child should go
THEN
Silvia Hartwell thought that the birth of her twin daughters was hard, but she had no idea of the trouble that was to follow. Jennifer and Lucy were identical twins, from the start Silvia knew that something was wrong but she had a hard time convincing her husband, Mark. The twins were non verbal, they didn't mix, frightening things happened when they were separated, people were afraid of them, Silvia and Mark feared for their future.
This is a great story with wonderful characters, it has tension, it has suspense, it has danger and it kept me reading for most of the night.
Thank you Willow Rose for this ARC, my review is totally voluntary.

This is another great installment of the very popular Eva Rae series. Willow Rose is known for her double time frame, second story format in her books. Eva Rae and her long-time partner, Matt, have started their own investigation firm and they have been brought in by the local police to consult on the finding of a faceless body. At the same time this is underway, they are struggling with a troubled foster son who has been traumatized - and the father of Eva Rae's granddaughter is trying to get full custody of the baby. That is the "now" story.

In the "then" story, a new mother gives birth to absolutely identical twin girls. Right from birth, they seem to be unusually strongly bonded to each other. They cannot be separated from each other, not even a few feet, and they breath in an alternate sync. One breaths in while the other breaths out. Always. The reader knows they are creepy right away. Even their mother is watchful.

This book is a bit easier than most to make the connection between the then and now stories, but there are still surprises and lots of tension, excitement, and suspense. It's well written and exciting. I couldn't put the book down.

Thanks to Willow Rose for providing me with an early copy of the e-book.

Their first case.

Eva Rae and Matt have opened their new investigative company specializing in clients who have been falsely accused of a crime. When a woman’s body is found floating in the river and the victim is presumed to have been a tourist, the police quickly arrest a local man. He turns to Eva Rae, a former FBI profiler and her partner Matt, a former police detective. Desperate to prove his innocence he becomes their first official case, and it turns out to be a doozy, with connections neither of them saw coming.

Wow, I loved this book, I love all of this author's books, and as always, I was kept guessing until the very end. There are so many twists and turns in the plot that I was left reeling. I highly recommend this fantastic mystery with complex and beautifully narrated characters to any reader.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by the author.

This is an incredible, unputdownable book is the 22nd book in the Eva Rae Thomas FBI Mystery series. Former FBI profiler, Eva Rae and her partner, Matt opened a PI firm specializing in the wrongfully accused. When a faceless dead woman is discovered floating in the Indian River, Eva and Matt are asked by a man who was arrested for the murder to help prove his innocence. This is their first big case and it is a doozy! Who is this woman? Who wanted her murdered? With so many twists and turns and edge of your seat moments, we are taken to a surprise ending with so much psychological overtones leading the case. WOW! What a thriller this is! Once you begin, there is no way you can put this book down. Not only do I highly recommend this book, but I highly recommend the entire series. Each book in the series is also unputdownable! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Every Breath You Take - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Queen of the Plot Twist Willow Rose's Every Breath You Take sees former FBI Agents turned PIs, Eva Rae Thomas and her partner Matt Miller, called in as police consultants to investigate a gruesome discovery by a fisherman.
From there the madness of dual family storylines grows more intense by the chapter, until your nerves are shredded with dreadful anticipation of what comes next. Gradually the layers of insanity proceeding from a normal childhood are compared with Eva Rae's family situation, where they blend into a twisted, shocking finale - that's like fingernails scraping down a blackboard - before a calming, satisfying ending.

Don't miss psychological thriller Every Breath You Take, but beware, it's not for those of a nervous disposition!

Did not disappoint

This story was as good as the ones before it. I know I can count on Willow Rose to write a suspenseful story. With the same characters that I watched go thru crazy situations and come out ok on the other side. And the writer builds on the previous experiences and life events that make the story familiar but traumatic at the same time. Great story!

Willow Rose does it again. She is a master at weaving two seemingly unrelated situations together to make an intriguing story. She slowly mixes little bits of information to lead you to a surprising ending. She knows how to grab you from page one and keep you reading until the end.

A set of twins, one controls the other, and one goes missing. A faceless body found in the water brings Eva Rae and her husband, both PIs, are helping the police with the case. When I start a Willow Rose novel, I have to keep reading. Her novels keep you captivated.

Every breath you take

I was thrilled when I saw willow rose had another new book. I love how she combines stories that do not appear to have any connection. I can't say anything more or I will ruin it. Please keep up the good work Willow. A faithful reader— sue
