London Daniels works her way up the ladder at her job. The one night she decides to celebrate her new promotion, she meets a man, and after a few drinks, she finds herself tangled in the sheets in a hotel room with him.
Genesis Lancaster has just returned to his hometown when he meets London. He wasn’t looking for anything more than one night, and when he gets what he wants, she becomes an everlasting memory.
When the two of them are set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, Genesis discovers he left something special behind.
Just One Night had all the ingredients for a bomb book: a one night stand, a blind date, and a secret baby trope? Yeah, this should’ve hit every single time. But somehow… it completely fumbled the execution. The premise had so much potential, especially with Genesis and London at the center of it, but the story never really took off. I kept waiting for the plot to give me something exciting, emotional, or memorable, and it just never got there. Once the baby’s paternity was confirmed, the story lost almost all momentum for me. While the book was relatively unproblematic, it also felt very flat and uneventful. One thing I did enjoy was how Genesis immediately locked in once he found out Paris was his daughter. That kind of protective, intentional energy from a male lead will almost always work for me. I also appreciated how London’s friends and family never judged her for getting pregnant from a one night stand, they simply supported her, and I loved that dynamic. The blind date aspect of the story also had a lot of potential and honestly could’ve been really cute if it had been developed more. Unfortunately, even the romance, dates, and relationship development struggled to hold my attention. I kept reading hoping the story would eventually pick up, but it never fully did. I can see what the author was trying to do, but for me, it just didn’t land. It was boring
I absolutely loved this story. It’s the perfect palate cleanser after some heavier reads. Genesis and London, or rather Gary & Lisa (😏), had one unforgettable night together. Fast forward, and that night left behind more than either of them expected. A chance blind date put them back into each other’s orbit, and things went on from there.
What I appreciated most was that the author didn’t drag out the baby reveal. That’s a pet peeve of mine with the secret baby trope. When the FMC takes forever to tell the MMC he’s a father, it often creates unnecessary frustration. That wasn’t the case here, and it allowed the story to focus on what mattered most: watching their relationship develop.
I loved watching Genesis step up and follow London’s lead as he got to know his child. It was adorable seeing him in daddy mode, and I appreciated the intention with which they built their relationship. I enjoyed the dates, but I especially loved the mundane moments of them hanging around the house, playing and reading together, or grocery shopping. Also Ms. London…you better talk him through it, sis. 😏
Anyway, this was a super sweet no tension, no drama no angst kinda romance.
Genesis and London’s story was the perfect palate cleanser! 🥰✨ There was no unnecessary drama—just a beautiful journey of love, fate, and family. ❤️
What started as a one-night stand resulted in the greatest surprise of all: a precious baby. 👶🏽💕 Unfortunately, no names or numbers were exchanged, leaving their connection as nothing more than a memory. But fate had other plans! 🌟
The two were reunited through a blind date arranged by London’s best friend. From the very beginning of reconnecting, London let Genesis know he was a father, and together they began building a friendship that gradually blossomed into a loving family. 🏡💖
This was a beautiful, heartwarming read that left me smiling. 📚💕✨
Best one night stand EVER!! Gary and Lisa aka Genesis and London met while having dinner and drinks with their friends. Her smile captivated him from across the room, so he had to go over and introduce himself. Her smile sent Cupid's arrow straight to his heart.
Since he didn't want to leave her just yet, he asked her to club down from the restaurant to listen to music. The vibe and danced heating things up. Still not wanting to part ways he invites her to his room. The chemistry is off the charts, and she dips in the morning.
Eight months later, she is set up on a blind date with her baby daddy. Best date ever!!!
London and her friend go out to celebrate her job promotion. Genesis approached London in the restaurant, and they are immediately attracted to one another which leads to them having a one-night stand. London runs out on him, but they see each other again some months later on a blind date. I'm glad that there was no drama when Genesis finds out that there is a surprise from their night together. I loved the family that Genesis, London and Paris formed. You could feel the love that they had for each other. This was a really beautiful love story that had my interest from the very beginning. You need to 1 Click for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
When I read Soleil’s contribution to the BLP MC Series, I made it my mission to read the rest of her catalog and that’s exactly what I did and enjoyed every minute of it. So if you haven’t read any of her books, go ahead and add all of them to your TBR, you will not be disappointed!!
London and Genesis’ story was simply amazing. What started as a chance meeting while she was out celebrating a promotion at work, turned into so much more. When you know you know, even when you don’t exchange information and give each other fake name. Cause what’s meant to be will be, all in the right time!
No strings, no ties, no attachments or so they thought. A spicy night turned into something neither of them could’ve ever imagined. London and Genesis OMG love them. S/O to London for her control and dominance in the bedroom. I love to see it! It was spicy, gentle, beautiful, and sexy. They bonded, built a friendship, and just had dope times together growing. What they made together in just one night tied them together forever and held so much promise. It was more than others share in a lifetime.
Quick read(wished it didn’t end), great plot. I loved the characters. This is something that I know is fiction, but I’ve known people to live in the same town and not see each other years and have mutuals in common. This felt like I was watching a movie. I loved how London and Genesis both were respectful and understanding of the situation at hand. Real grown up behavior. I also loved the spice in this book🔥🔥 GO READ IT!!
Such a cute read ! Soleil definitely knows how to write a cute heartwarming black romance.
The fact that neither of them found or wanted anyone after that one and ended up being set up on a blind date together is crazy ! The universe was talking hunny lol .
I love how once Q found out he was a dad he immediately stepped up !!!
I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Genesis and London were so cute together. I loved their energy and vibe. One night truly lead to forever with them.
If you love an unproblematic couple and a story without any drama, this one is a great and quick read.
Now London know how to celebrate a promotion. Drinks with the girls and fun with a man until the next lifetime. This was definitely an enjoyable read with mature characters. There was areas where things could have been messy but they handled it with class.
I needed a short, low-stakes romance. I found it. I loved this book from beginning to end. The FMC and MMC were grown ups in their decision making and came together like adults. I loved how Genesis loved London, and I loved how London lowered her guard and allowed Genesis to love her properly. Black women need that type of love.
Now this is a break from my usually unhinged characters but it did not disappoint. It kept me engaged and entertained. The way Genesis did not play about London just made me smile. He always put her first even on their "one night stand" lol. This was definitely a feel good love story. It's smooth and well written and a good read.
London and Genesis had an unexpected night and connection which led to more. Hannah knew what she was doing for Genesis and her friend. Liked how the relationship developed between and Paris. Genesis was real surprised by those books loll.
This was a great quick read. Great character development. It kept you engaged. This is always my favorite trope. This was my first read by this author and i can't wait to see what else they have.
My favorite trope surprise pregnancy…the second meeting of Genesis & London was so cute..this had no drama just two grown adults who knew what they wanted and took responsibility
I am a fan of love and this story hits every angle of it. It was nice to read maturity in a situation that happenstance created a child out of it. I like how Genesis didn’t trip out or act like an axx. The time spent to build was amazing. Really enjoyed their story
The "surpise baby" trope done right. I loved everything about this story and how grown and mature the characters handled their surprise. This was the perfect combo of sweet and spicy!
It was so cute. Short beautiful book. You never know what would happen in one night. I was glad London was able to find her baby daddy Genius. Their love story was cute
Love his story was amazing from beginning to end the way they came together as a family was everything so beautiful awww very romantic one of my favorite 🥰🥰
London and Genesis are actually both funny af for that first night🤣. But I loved their story. Reconnecting was the best thing that could've happened for them, especially with France! Genesis played no games about London & France, both together and separately. London got all that she wanted and deserved in a man & partner. And the spice? Yea. Loved this one!
