Dixie Fontaine is a planner. Her life is laid out before her down to the last detail. But when her fiancé announces that he has other plans just weeks before the holidays, Dixie’s carefully constructed life begins to crumble.
A last-minute decision to travel home to see her family for the holidays leads Dixie to become stranded at the airport by a sudden snowstorm of epic proportions. All flights are cancelled, and no one’s going anywhere. Dixie’s plans? Foiled again.
Lucky for Dixie, she’s not the only one snowed in. When Brogan, a tall Irish transplant with a wicked grin and a panty-dropping accent wanders into her path, Dixie realizes that there are worse ways to spend Christmas Eve.
A heartwarming (and sexy) holiday tale for lovers of wine, chocolate and romance!
I'm USA Today Bestselling author Delancey Stewart. My contemporary romances run the gamut of settings and setups, but they always deliver humor, heart and heat. It's a guarantee.
I write from my home in Denver, CO, where I manage a household full of boys and men. Okay, only one man. The hubs. But two boys. I mean, three if you count the hubs. (You see why I do words and not numbers. I was told there'd be no math in this bio. Someone lied.)
I grew up in California and have had more jobs than anyone on earth (personal trainer, pharmaceutical rep, copywriter, tech writer, marketing director, wine seller, elementary school teacher... I'm not kidding. The list. It goes on.) But the one I love the most is writing, in part because I get to meet people who love books and stories as much as I do! Please don't hesitate to get in touch to say hello, and don't forget to join my newsletter!
I found two covers for this book. The first one is on Goodreads and the other is on Amazon. I like Amazon's. I been in plenty of airports, but I've never been snowed in one. Finding love in an airport would not be safe, but these two seemed to click from the moment they met. Brogan is self-assured and knows what a woman needs. In case of Dixie, it was a chocolate cupcake. They make their own little Christmas in the airport while waiting for the airport to open back up. This tale is heartwarming and just a little bit scary.
This was a cute holiday read. The MC were snowed in while waiting to go home for Christmas. Dixie and Brogan meet and sparks fly right away. They get to know one another and spend one of the most exciting Christmas Eve’s together.
We all know the hustle and bustle the holiday season brings! Throw in travel plans and you have a mix destined for hiccoughs!!! This is particularly distressing for people who plan everything they do by the letter, like Dixie! Dixie has made arrangements to fly home to Texas, from New York, to spend Christmas with her family--after her initial plans (with her now EX-fiancé had been called off. Frustrated by the grounding of all flights, Dixie found her coffee shop and settled in for a cup, and a chance meeting with a very handsome man, Brogan. Their interests in one another were rapidly growing despite the fact; they just met. The two strangers were left spend the night in the terminals. Dixie and Brogan found more by being stranded at the airport on Christmas Eve night, than either would have if they had made the flight! This novellas was gifted to me by the author, in exchange for a review. All thoughts and conjecture made within the review are mine alone and are solely my own opinions. I loved this holiday novella! Dixie was a big, hot, mess! This is what made her such an appealing character! Although, she is an efficient planner-even off the cuff, she gets in her own way as she tries to decipher her thoughts, feelings, and rationality. This all makes her charming, alluring, and passionate. Brogan, was cool and collected in the face of adversity. He instantly provides a sense of security, smoothness, and mystery. I loved that he both anticipated Dixie's thoughts and wishes and was still surprised by her actions! It was a budding and brewing start of an affair with a connection promising possibility of a future, and definitively a Merry Christmas! This novella seems to be written with a constant lilt of humor as the backbone that branches into moments of seriousness, compassion, despair, and hope. It is another brilliant composition of Delancey Stewart!
A short read that shows the power of attraction. After all flights are cancelled Dixie is stuck in the airport in which she meets Brogan a hot Irishman. As the night moves on they become closer and eventually they decide they like each other. I none short night they learn everything they can about each other and the night ends with them making a decision. A cute holiday read it is easy to read through the hustle and bustle of the holiday
** I received a copy of this book for an honest review**
This book hooks you in right away. There wasn't much in terms of character development, just a little bit, but the author did a good job making the MCs likable. I don't really know if I like a story of two strangers sleeping with each other within hours of meeting, but they were very cute together and it did seem like things were going somewhere with them. This felt like the beginning chapters of a longer book. If the MCs' relationship develops more, I wouldn't mind reading it! :)
What a fun, sexy & hot quick read! I just loved Dixie & Brogan! Who wouldn't want to be stranded in an airport with a hot Irishman?? I so enjoyed their interaction and chemistry. It's short, but you definitely feel the "Happily Ever After" in this story!!
