Rescue: Interstellar Trader Book Six

Rate this book
Jericho continues to work on developing his fleet in preparation for the Norvandans. He isn’t sure when they will come, but hopes it will be after he can properly be ready for them.

Before trying to goad the Norvandans into attacking, Jericho has many things to accomplish. Among them is to continue the economic development of the Korson Cluster and initiate the evacuation of the Jamrualians to Arcadia.

The evacuation itself starts without a hitch, however, some of the Jamrualian politicians find a way to jump ahead in the line of evacuation. Jericho’s reaction is both rapid and devastating to the wrongdoers. Everything that happens to them is fully prescribed within the evacuation agreement.

A highly entertaining space trader series

The series is highly entertaining with a young man, turning into a trader, and then setting the whole trading world in his quadrant on its ear. My quibble is this. Many things are happening off screen. And yes, traders would be quite into jumping and out of bed because what else are you going to do in the deep dark? But the main character seems to be at this particular stage of the books 30 something-year-old with a 14-year-old emotional maturity. Now this may be intentional on the author’s part. Or the author may have no idea that they’re actually doing that. Reading this book as an adult woman does make me have times where I just shake my head at the character and think, why the heck are you doing that? It’s like there’s a 14-year-old’s version of sexuality in this book and not an adult’s. I’m still going to continue to read the series because it’s entertaining, and there are plenty of interesting things that the character is doing. There’s also the fact that the author may genuinely be making a statement about what people who live a very long time will be like in the future. Namely, that they may mature more slowly.

Hurray, this book gives me hope for at least 2 more books! Yea!!

Evacuation has begun to Arcadia and, of course, some of the politicians think that the rules don't apply to them. Jericho quickly disabuses them of that!
We discover some of his family history that was only hinted at previously. New ship designs continue to come forth. His love life continues to be healthy, but with some gaps, due to his standards of conduct.
And we still haven't encountered the expected enemy.
Can't wait!

Jericho finally admits his feelings.

The evacuation begins. (I admit that I skipped over the politicians and business owners on Arcadia part.) But the big story is Jericho and his first roommate on the Mattin FINALLY admit their feelings for each other. Everyone who has been invested in the series knew it from book one before Jericho, apparently.
