Sweet Deception

Rate this book
Calculated. Guarded. Ruthless.

Nathan Edge built his life on strategy and the billion-dollar record empire he runs thrives on it. With his inheritance hanging on one impossible condition in his late father’s will, the last thing the billionaire CEO needs is emotional complications.

But Elise Alexandre—his stunning, sweet assistant and the woman he must convince to marry him—is quickly becoming the one variable he can’t control…especially when winning her heart means deceiving it first.

Driven. Resilient. Unaware.

Elise Alexandre has worked too hard to rebuild her life to fall for the wrong man again.

A choreographer with dreams bigger than the office she works in, she refuses to be distracted—especially not by her dangerously charismatic boss.

Nathan is polished. Powerful. Impossible to ignore.

And when he starts looking at her like she’s more than just his assistant, Elise begins to believe in something she swore she’d never risk again.

But the deeper she falls, the more devastating the truth will be.

Because loving Nathan Edge was never the mistake.

Trusting him was.

Absolutely loved this book so much! Elise Alexandre had my heart throughout this whole book and Nathan Edge eventually warmed up to me and they were so cute together. A great 4 star read for me! Such a great debut novel.

I have been waiting for months for this book to come out and it was most definitely worth the wait! There were times I was blushing and kicking my feet or tearing up (It’s very hard for me to start crying). Beautifully written I can’t wait for the next book!

MUST READ

5 stars well earned and deserved. This is for all the readers wanting a fade to black grumpy sunshine book with a STRONG and RISILIENT female lead. This is an office romance with plenty of sweet moments, a black /haitian representing woman, a hot young billionaire with a surprising personality twist. I thoroughly enjoyed delving into Elise's dancer/ choreographer world. This is not just a story of romance but of a woman learning to overcome her deepest insecurities and "weaknesses" but really she learns those things made her strong too. I love how Nathan is a reflective individual and truly comes to grow as a man who has his flaws but chooses to be better for himself and for his future with the woman he wants. And trust me Mr. Edge KNOWS what he wants. He already has it all but can he truly enjoy everything without his one ? I was left wanting even more and I cannot wait to see how this world of characters make their own paths and how they interconnect with eachother. This book is HOT. Cheeks red and burning , heart left yearning. Not to mention the detail and the way you can really put yourself in their shoes. Do not skip it !!!

Pretty good

This is my first time reading this author and I think this is a debut book and it was written really good

Elise and Nathan( after he stop mentioning be Calculated/manipulator) were both likable. I like how even though in the beginning, he kept saying it was because of the stipulation, but he always liked her. You can tell from him kept the coffee shirt, and I love that once Elise found out she really made him work to get back to what they were instead of being over it quick/weak

The timeline was a little off to me, especially regarding Elise resignation. Example they had dinner together right after she gave the letter. If mentioned that that was two weeks ago in the next chapter, and then a few chapters later it said she still had three

Overall, this is a really enjoyable book. If you’re looking for spice, you’re not gonna find it (implied but not on page) I wish we did get one scene tho lol

Nathan como jefe es un tirano que trata a sus empleados de manera horrible. Me sorprendió que, con lo buena que era Elise, pensara en seguir trabajando con él. Luego medio se redime, pero por cómo era al principio me costó verlo de otra manera.
