This board book full of triangles and clever cut-outs is a wonderful way to introduce babies and toddlers to shapes.
Is it a house? A sailboat? A hat or a flag? Read aloud and create a clever guessing game about shapes that will delight and stimulate the youngest readers. Triangles are everywhere, and the shapes and colors found in everyday objects come to life when the pages of the book are turned.
Learning shapes is a lot of fun when there are surprises involved—this die-cut board book from master artist and designer Yusuke Yonezu is full of them.
Love this sturdy board book that teaches about triangles in a way that engages the child to think about triangles are in everyday life. Primary colors used in the illustrations are brilliant in hue and the die cuts are used at appropriate times. Great example of what a board book can be!
This is the fourth book from Yusuke Yonezu we've read together, and Rowan enjoys it as much as the other three. Follows the same basic format, and is just as successful too. Really consistently good stuff. Very simple, very accessible. Throw this in alongside some more narrative-based tales during nap- and bedtime for a good assortment of books. Great stuff.
It would be cute for toddlers I think as a one-on-one read along. Getting the kids to think about and take guesses at what the triangle could be. It would not work in a larger group I don't think, which is what I had previewed it for. The colors are simple, the text is very minimal. Good for the target audience.
Perfect for teaching youngsters about shapes, this board book from Switzerland focuses on triangles. Using die-cuts that allow different objects to be revealed, the book shows several objects such as a flag, a tree, or even a mouse or a piece of cheese that have triangle shapes as parts of their composition. I have enjoyed all the books in this shape series, and this one is no exception to that enjoyment.
Triangles can be all sorts of things as this clever board book demonstrates again and again. There are flags, sails, trees, animals, and even a wedge of cheese. Children will delight in the final page which can be lifted to a little face as a mask. There will be lots of fun in guessing what the triangle has become as well as naming colors and animals too.
