Plot is plotting
Getting a Lil obsessed now friend 🤣. I hope the story is going where I think its going since we get to meet the parents and see how everyone always tries to circle the block with Erica!!!

amazing!
This one was really great! I enjoyed it and cannot wait for the next book. It’s slow burn for sure but it’s worth it. I enjoyed the angst.

This series is panning out to be different from her others
In general, I am very interested in the direction of the story. I want to know how it will all work out. There is so much going on it’s hard to say which way it could go especially since we know this author is anything but obvious or predictable. This is a story of a battle of wills. Who will corrupt/influence who?
Starting with the good, this book does not follow the formula that she has used on her other books which is exciting. There are a lot more characters that could play a significant part and none of them fit a typical villain/OW or OM/other love interest mold. I don’t know where they fit and I like finding out as I go. In ADG’a other books, the BFMC is a doormat with unrequited luv, the WFMC is the chosen distraction/unexpected villain, there is a OM to distract the BFMC for a minute, and the WMMC is stuck in the middle.
That is not the case with this series. The BFMC is not a doormat and is morally grey. The WMMC is trying to do what he considers is the right thing and there are so many characters that could fit into the WFMC/OM role. I like that the focus is on the two MCs and that the supporting characters are there to show how they are evolving as characters.
I love all of the Easter eggs that are being dropped. It is making everything all the more interesting and intriguing. After reading the book, I’m wondering if this series is going to be a supernatural one. I am too invested on how this will all play out.
The bad and reason why I couldn’t give more than 3 stars. (If I could I would probably give 3.5 or 3.75.): Erica is really a horrible person when it comes to King. Her passion to bring him low is very cringy at times. She SAs him, railroads him, drugs him against his will and is robbing him of his autonomy. No does not mean no when King says it and that is sad to read. He is not developing an attraction to her. It is more so a version of Stockholm syndrome. Erica is a super likable and relatable FMC so I don’t want to dislike her but a lot of the stuff she does specifically to King is disappointing. Watching King struggle and slowly loose is kinda sad. It’s like watching an addict backslide after a decade of sobriety. He is fighting the good fight and loosing. Erica on the other hand does seem like she is being affected by King but not as quickly as she is rubbing off on him.
This book is an extremely slow burn. There are so many unnecessary details in the book that make way longer than it has to be.
The formatting is still atrocious, but to me it is typical ADG.
Overall, I’m loving this series. There is such a huge chance for a redemption and fall from grace that I’m interested to see how the characters survive it to make it to a HEA.
Small spoiler: If you follow ADG insta acct and watch her visuals for her series. Connecting that the drummer in the first few post are King and not Tyler is chef’s kiss. I wondered why Tyler’s description didn’t match the image and now I see why. I can’t wait to get more of Kings background and I can’t wait to see how that info affects Erica.

I like the way the book started off. It picked right up after the chaos of the last ending. I could not believe how long they were stuck out there in the forest and how far they was taken away from, where they were. She is a bit overly salty about religion and God and Christians and church, and I have to ask what in the world happened to her to push her over the edge like that. She never thought at no point during the ordeal that they had gone through that possibly God put King there to save her life for her because during everything he was who kept her alive right down to the bear.
With that being said, it seems like he's working in her slowly but surely, for the life of me, I can't understand why she would even entertain a conversation with Tyler, let alone what they did, then why she would take the steps with her friend when she know there is nothing there.
The friend in her twin brother are weird. During the earlier book, I had to ask myself, are they involved with one another sister and brother? Because we all know that's not out of the wheelhouse of this author. It seems like to me that king is EX band member of some kind that for whatever reason he changed his life, something probably happened,Maybe? But after watching him at the Christmas table, the Christian side of King is the best side. That alcohol let something slip out and oh my goodness, Oh, my goodness. But it didn't slip out too much because he stopped and it ended there. We finally start to see the slow burn on both sides. I bet he rocked her down to her toes. I don't appreciate how she keeps stepping over his boundaries when he says no don't want this. He don't want that and the whole deal with the medication was a violation. That's why in a previous review? I had to ask, did she get her behindWhippe as a kid? Dad said she did but you can't tell, because normal lines and boundaries that people have does not mean anything to her.
I'm wondering how young could her daddy possibly look what's up with that?
I was so disappointed when she entertained conversation with Tyler, and when what happened with the friend happened. But even in that God is working. She didn't feel right about it. Something was off, but it was crazy. Because she was so careless, so I'm interested in seeing what the next book brings. I want to see her grow up and mature please

This was a build up, for sure. Erica got on my nerves, though slightly less in this book. Growth, maybe? King has some secrets....hmmmmmmm....

Screaming 😱 I'm really glad to see some growth from the fmc bc 👀. And that TWIST🙆🏾♀️I wasn't expecting that journey, it took me thru ALL the feels...but the cliffy!! 🥲

Scorching
Loved this book. Erica and King are getting closer. The dude doesn't realise how much he actually likes Erica. He clearly has some feelings for her. He is protective of her and massively attracted to her. Their Christmas together was hot. I absolutely really can't wait for the next book!!
