Favors, be careful asking for them, because they have to be repaid. Repaying her debt Gerald Shem has sent Mia to New Orleans, Louisiana to be part of a team of sensitives and psychics who were coming together to aid in the crossing of lost spirits. Mia assumed that she was just replacing a team member that had fallen ill, but there is more at stake in the Big Easy than it appears. A soul eater has been released in the French Quarter, and according to Judge Roumain, only Mia has the skills to fight it.

Meanwhile, the PEEPs are investigating the Little Goodwin Village Library where a bevy of ghosts have entered and have yet to check out. Without Mia, they have to do things the old school way, relying on Murphy to communicate with the dead.

Separated from each other, Mia and PEEPS will be tested to see it they have what it takes to cross the lost, and in Mia’s case, survive NOLA.
“NOLA” is the 14th full length novel of the “Haunted Series.”

My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read.
Once upon a time…
I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads.
It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.

The 14th book of the "Haunted Series," first draft was finished on the 14th day of February. NOLA takes Mia far from her beloved husband and new child. And also far from her partner in the paranormal, Stephen Murphy. PEEPs also has to learn to work without Mia's particular insights. I thought this book would give the reader a better look into some of the other characters. While Mia is away the PEEPs will play.

NOLA a great read!

This is a little different than the other Peep books. Here we see Mia somewhat on her own. She meets with others that help ghosts go on to other plains as well as defeating evil spirits and a young demon or two. There is an entity trying to take over the big easy and Mia is the go-to girl to get it done. Some questions are answered about Mia's powers and insight into her past.
The Peeps have their own investigation and are keeping busy. It is once again, a great read!

Loved it

I'm writing this review because I have enjoyed all Alexie Aaron's book. Her story line is great and I would love to be friends with her characters. This one takes place in NOLA (New Orleans) where the dead are respected and in a small library up north. They intertwine very well. If you love ghost stories check out this author's books. They have a lot of humor in them too

2 more to go

I have been reading this series from the first book and maybe this could be my favorite. Mia had to go to new Orleans to help send souls to the light and to do away with a soul catcher. I really love the interactions mia has with everyone and especially with Ted her husband. They are so funny together. I got my daughter reading these and she is almost up with me.

When opening an Alexie Aaron book, I feel as though I am opening a present. I am filled with joyful anticipation of hours spent with old friends. This book in the Haunted Series finds Mia on her own in New Orleans. To say more would ruin the adventure. Simply stated, Ms. Aaron remains my favorite writer of paranormal fiction.

Yet another fantastic PEEPs novel. Mardi Gra, Soul Eaters, Romanov princes, and demons all in one! Just when you think there can't be another supernatural being on the planet, Alexie Aaron finds one - just brilliant. I love these books so much.

This book has more depth and was a bit more unpredictable than previous books. I've liked them all, but this is my favorite.
