The first in an assassin academy, why choose romance, for fans of Tate James and Jaymin Eve.

CHOOSE: DEATH OR WINGS.

These are the only two options presented to Adelaide Sinclair when she’s plucked out of her tragic life and dragged straight into a place that will either forge her into a killer… or kill her.

Welcome to Blackwing Academy: where initiates can only leave in one of two ways—Graduation or a body bag. Adelaide quickly learns that here, survival means more than passing deadly assessments and outsmarting classmates with murderous intentions—it means surviving the three instructors ordered to break her down and remake her into their deadliest asset yet.

One hones her body. One sharpens her mind. One perfects her aim.
All inspire violence.

Will the boys of Blackwing steal her heart?
Or will they cut it from her chest?

The “I’ll just read one more chapter” mentality absolutely ruined my sleep with this one… and I regret nothing. Hunted had me completely hooked, I read this in 2 days.

This is the perfect mix of action, suspense, romance, and mystery. The story never lets up, with twists that kept me guessing and enough tension that I genuinely struggled to put it down.

One of my favourite things was that the romance never overshadowed the actual plot. Yes, the chemistry is there (and wow… it’s there 😮‍💨), but the storyline is so strong that the romance only makes everything better instead of becoming the whole focus.

And can we please talk about the why choose romance? Three ridiculously sexy instructors? Say less. 😍 I never thought I’d say this because I’m definitely not a why choose girlie… but maybe I am now? 👀 Kate may have just converted me.

The whole time I was getting serious ALIAS vibes, and as someone who always wanted to be Sydney Bristow growing up, Addie Sinclair quickly became my new obsession. Watching her navigate everything thrown at her while uncovering the truth had me turning pages as fast as I could.

This story is addictive, fast-paced, and impossible to stop thinking about. If you love secret organisations, high-stakes missions, found family, birds 🦆 , and a romance that enhances an already brilliant story, you need this book on your TBR.

Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for the next book because I need answers.

This is well over a five star read for me.

I am super lucky to have received an advanced copy of this book by the amazing Kate Asher and it did not disappoint!!

Just like her original series Crown of Olympus, we have the best sassy humour from our main female character (assassian life come at us) we also had amazing different points of views from our lovely little trio of sexy assassin men (damn new book boyfriends activated 🔥🔥🔥).

Our main gal is Addie a young woman taken off the streets and plopped into an assassin academy with some smoking hot 🔥 teachers, friends she has made in her time at the academy, training courses she must survive and a villains you really hope die painfully!

I really really connected with this book on a very emotional level. There were some things that happened that I feel a lot of women are experiencing and it’s really good to read it in a book that has a bit of humour.
Yes there were tears but they were connection tears and a feeling of not being alone.

Overall this was a fabulous, tension filled, assassin academy read and I will not be able to recommend this enough so if you’re after some sassy female badass in a situation that one did not chose then this novel is the one for you.

Thank you so much to Kate for the early copy and I look forward to more tears and a superb follow up book 🤍🙏✨

ARC Review

I loved going into this completely blind. Trigger warnings and trope lists are spoilers for my soul, and the moment I discover an author I love, I'll happily dive into anything they write without a second thought.

Kate, you'll always be on that list.

By 15% in, I was messaging saying I was getting why choose vibes...only to be told it had been all over the posts. By 25%, I was desperately trying not to cry. By 100%, I was left staring at yet another cliffhanger, wondering why Kate keeps doing this to me.

What a story.
Three ridiculously hot instructors I desperately wish were real. A witty, badass FMC I aspire to be when I grow up.
A perfect mix of survival, watching assholes get exactly what they deserve, and friendships that make everything worthwhile.

This series is easily one of the best I've ever read, and I can't wait to see it get all the attention it (and Kate) deserves.

I'd happily use other big named books as kindling just to keep Hunted warm.

And if anyone sees a Blackwing van pull up beside me and someone throws me inside... mind your own business.
I'm exactly where I want to be.

I was given the opportunity to Beta read this on behalf of the author*

WHERE DO I START?! I think this is the fastest I’ve ever finished a book. I didn’t want to put it down, I couldn’t it was addictive. Following Addie through the end of her training as an assassin at Blackwing academy then into her first mission is full of drama, many laughs, sadness (yes Kate broke my heart again) and a lot of “hot damn” 🥵

Reverse harem? YES PLEASE
Assassin Academy? ABSOLUTELY
Betrayal? There sure is.

I’ve been a huge fan of Kate’s since I first picked up Crown of Olympus and couldn’t wait to see how she brought a new book in a different genre to life and she KILLED it… assassinated it if you will…

I cannot wait for the rest of this series to see where it goes. Like I need it right now!!

ARC REVIEW - Thanks to Kate for the early copy.

I am a huge fan of Kate’s Hades Trials series and went into this series a little behind. I AM SO GLAD I DID! I was expecting a why choose read, but I was not expecting to adore Addie (the female assassin) and her handlers. All three of her handlers have different personalities which makes Addie’s snark all the better.

In true Kate form, you ride an emotional rollercoaster all the way through but always come back to laughter. Her humor is just genius.

Everything worked for me and can’t wait for book 2. On that note, thanks, yet again Kate, for the cliffhanger that makes me cuss you. 😂

I received this as an ARC, and honestly am going to be eagerly awaiting the next book!

This why choose romance based in an academy for assassins with a snarky FMC and 3 MMC’s had me turning the pages so fast. Asher’s writing is cheeky and grabs you and pulls you into the story. I love the nicknames, the banter, and the dynamic of these characters. I cannot wait to find out what happens to our deadly foursome!

"Your goal, no matter your assignment, is erasure without authorship."
.
Kate Asher writes books like no one I've read before, and she definitely doesn't shy away from dropping witty one liners and letting her Aussie humour creep in.
.
As a sucker for academia, and a drooler for a 'why choose' moment, I was very excited to get stuck into this ARC read. HUNTED was academia like I hadn't come across before. Blackwing Academy is an assassin school, so the classes are a bit on the wild side, which I LOVED, and the rivalry between some of the characters were kicked up a notch...because - assassins! Throw in some drool worthy professors, a best friend who is literally sleeping his way through the academy, school bullies and an evil commander.
.
This book is very fast paced at the beginning, so don't make plans. You won't want to put this baby down. If you're anything like me and the other ARC readers, you will eat this up!

ARC REVIEW

Well Kate has done it again. I read her first novel, Crown of Olympus, in less than 24 hours and this one pulled me in just the same.
This was a wild ride in an assassin academy that holds nothing back and in which no one is really safe.
Adelaide is a feisty FMC, determined to get a sniper designation that no female recruit has ever gotten. But she must first get past her three delectable instructors, her deadly classmates, and Blackwing academy itself.
This is a fast paced, plot heavy, dark academia romance that features three MMCs and one tough FMC who is about done with the lot life has given her.
I loved this story and the story telling. I can’t wait to see where the series will go. Add this to your TBR for August. Just beware the cliff.

Consider me an addict because I devoured this book in 24 hours like my life depended on it. I genuinely couldn’t stop reading, and when I wasn’t reading it, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Hunted follows Adelaide Sinclair, whose life is completely turned upside down when she is given two choices: death or wings. And just like that, she finds herself at Blackwing Academy, a place where initiates are trained to become deadly assassins and there are only two ways out—graduation or a body bag.

From the moment Addie arrives at Blackwing, she is thrown into a world where basically everyone is a threat. Between brutal assessments, classmates who would happily take her out to get ahead, secrets, betrayals and three instructors determined to push her to her absolute limits, survival is anything but guaranteed.

And let me tell you, I ate up EVERY. SINGLE. SECOND.

I also now have three new obsessions in the form of Beck, Van and Dek because apparently one book boyfriend is no longer enough and Kate Asher has decided I need three. Although, if you forced me to choose right now, Van and Dek may have a slight lead. I mean… slutty little glasses and tattoos? I’m just a girl. I like what I like.

Each of the MMCs is responsible for shaping Addie into the assassin Blackwing wants her to become, but what I loved was how different each of their relationships with her felt. One pushes her physically, one challenges her mentally and one sharpens the skills that could ultimately keep her alive. Each dynamic brings something completely different to the story, and I already know I’m going to spend this entire series changing my mind about who my favourite is.

I’ll admit, I’m not usually a why choose reader. It’s never been something I actively reach for, so I went into this curious to see whether it would work for me. Well… Kate, consider me converted.

The chemistry was chemistrying. The tension was tensioning. And I was utterly INVESTED.

What really worked for me, though, was that the romance never took over the actual story. Yes, there is plenty of sexual tension—and trust me, I was here for it—but I was just as invested in Addie surviving Blackwing, uncovering its secrets and figuring out who the hell she could actually trust.

Plot wise, this book MOVES. There is so much packed into just over 300 pages, and I genuinely struggled to put it down. I WAS ADDICTED. The action had me on the edge of my seat, the mystery kept me guessing, the romance had me blushing, the banter had me cackling, and the emotional moments had me questioning why I continue to let Kate Asher hurt me like this.

Because Kate wasted absolutely NO time with the emotional damage. I was only eight chapters in. EIGHT CHAPTERS. And I was already being dealt punch after punch directly to the heart.

Like, KATE. WHY?! 😭

Between assassins assassinating, deadly training, secrets, betrayals, pop culture references and three men I am now apparently emotionally attached to, Hunted was fast, flirty, suspenseful and completely addictive.

*Please note, I was provided with an ARC version of this book by the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review*

Addie is definitely a k!ller queen! Or at least, she will be once she graduates. There is so much to enjoy in this first instalment of the Blackwing Hearts series in and of itself, while also building an epic foundation for when the drama inevitably heats up further in future books.

My absolute favourite thing about Kate Asher's writing is that, right from page one, there is a constant forward momentum that keeps you completely hooked in. But there is NEVER any sacrificing of depth, plot or characterisation for the sake of that pacing. 'Hunted' is no exception. Putting yourself in Addie's shoes, right from the word go you feel surrounded, whether that be by the fellow students you don't entirely trust, the walls which you're convinced have ears... or by the three handlers which ooze dark and dangerous appeal.

Addie's character in particular is also portrayed really well. There is an almost perfect balance between making her a complete badass and allowing her some vulnerability and softness. She might be an FMC that can handle herself and her weaponry, but she is absolutely fallible, and thus feels very believable. There is clearly still a lot to learn about this lethal lady, but I'm certainly convinced by her thus far!

I would perhaps like to have gotten to know Beck, Van and Dek a little more as individuals, or indeed as a group, outside of their roles as Addie's tutors/handlers, but equally I love the fact that there's a bit of an air of mystery surrounding them that compliments their positions within the story. There are definitely glimpses of personality beyond 'stone cold k!llers' peppered throughout (side note: Kate, as if I needed more encouragement to reHeat... again...), and ultimately this feels like an enticing introduction to these men that will, I'm sure, end up causing severe damage to my current book boyfriend rankings by the end of the series.

If you're at all familiar with Kate's work then you know that she collects the tears of her readers, caused from the emotional devastation she leaves in her wake. The peaks and troughs of this story leave your feelings bouncing all over the place, from smug satisfaction to outright terror, from warm fuzzies to desperation to know what happens next. And yet, it's so easy to read; the words seep in like the bl00d of the victims, and they've definitely stained my soul... I really need more!

I absolutely devoured this, and loved every second!

“And now I was being sent into every lion’s den—armed with the tools to slay the beast, but still in range of his claws. I guess I’d just have to sharpen my own to match.”

What an absolute whirlwind of a journey! Addie and her guys story consumed me from the first page, honestly from the first sentence.

I am well and truly head over heels for these characters, I knew from reading Kate’s Hades Trials series that she has the ability to break your heart, put it back together again and then sucker punch you just when you thought it was safe. Her writing brings out all of the emotions, from the truly excellent banter to the magnetism between our main characters. You really feel what they all go through and just how strong and relentless they are. I love every second of it!

The romance balances the plot so flawlessly, it really was the perfect accompaniment to all of the action, suspense and the mystery. Adding the chemistry and the tension of this MFMM dynamic was the exact ingredient for perfection Addies story deserved.

All the characters had such depth and Addie especially was so relatable, some of the things she goes through so so so many women can connect with. Having that women’s health representation added even more emotion to this story.

“Blackwing would never feel like home to me. But as I stared between the faces of all three of my handlers, I wondered if I could find it somewhere else.”

It’s a very rare occasion when I find a book set in my home city of London and it was so fun to see it through the eyes of this story.

I kid you not, as soon as I saw this was set in an assassin academy I knew I needed to read this. It was like this book was made for me, with the trials that had me literally glued to the page, the twists that I did not see coming, and the absolute resilience of the characters? Incredible.

“I’ll be your beast if that’s what you need. I’ll be the devil in the darkness to protect you. I’ll be whatever monster you need me to be.”

The brutal intensity of this why-choose dark romance kicks off immediately in the opening pages - like a bucket of ice water to the face. Literally, that’s what our FMC, Addie was subjected to as part of her merciless assassin training. But, she totally cops it like a champ, being the fierce, determined, unrelenting fighter that she is. Attributes that turn out to be absolutely necessary in Blackwing Academy.

Our three MMCs, Hunter, Deklan, and Evander are a well-rounded trio of skillful sexiness embodied (smash) and the dynamic between the three of them, as well as their interactions with Addie was intriguing from start to finish. There is still so much we have to learn about these three, with so many questions left unanswered by the end of the book that we’re left wanting more and in need of book two immediately!

Hunted is fast-paced, action-packed, and entirely bingable. The trials and tribulations in the academy setting were vividly exhilarating, and had me rooting HARD for Addie, while despising another nepo-baby trainee who rivals the obnoxious viciousness of Jack Barlowe from Fourth Wing. You can’t not hate him.

Conversely, I really loved Addie’s two closest friends and fellow assassins in training, with accompanying found-family vibes that felt genuine even with so few pages in which to achieve it. The banter between these three and their unconventional relationship was entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable.

I loved the premise of this story so much that I would’ve loved it to be a bit longer and some aspects explored a little deeper (dirty), but I guess I’ll have to patiently wait until the sequel to get more!!

Highly recommend, especially if you’re in the mood for something short and sharp, with a perfect balance of spice and plot.

Completing a genre switch successfully can be difficult but Kate has absolutely pulled it off here.

Addie is my girl (i don't care what the men in the book say). She's strong, she's smart, she is an all around badass. As for the boys I am sure I'll spend weeks trying to decide on a favourite, only to change my mind and then change it again.

Plot wise the book is very fast paced. A lot happens in the 300ish pages and i loved every single second of it. The moments of action are very well done, i was on the edge of my seat from the start.

The romances are also quite quick moving (also very full of sexual tension, i am here for it) but I think with the way trust works for these characters the ongoing development in that will continue to strengthen the bonds as the series continues.

Kate as always nails the comedy to emotion ratio. I laughed out loud several times. For some reason this quote from addie "...assassin. murderess. She who taketh the lives-eth" took me out completely.

But one of what I know is going to be my favourite parts of the series is definitely only just beginning and thats the more emotional aspect of Addies past and how every thing that comes is going to shape her alongside that.

Big thank you to Kate for the early copy of the book, when's the next one? I need more of these people immediately.

If ruthless assassin academies, dangerously attractive men, and heroines with sharp tongues are your thing… add this to your TBR immediately. 🔥

Adelaide Sinclair arrives at Blackwing Academy knowing one brutal truth: the weak don’t survive. Every challenge is designed to break her, every recruit is a potential enemy, and even her instructors are as lethal as they are irresistible.

From the very first page, this book throws you into a relentless world of deadly training, impossible odds, shocking secrets, and heart pounding tension. Addie is fierce, fearless, and never backs down, even when she has a target on her back. Watching her fight for every victory had me completely hooked.

And the chemistry? Absolutely off the charts. The slow-burn tension between Addie and her three handlers had me giggling, kicking my feet, and yelling at my book in equal measure. 😮‍💨

The action never slows, the twists keep coming, and that ending… Kate Asher, I need book two RIGHT NOW.

Kate, you have done it again!! You pulled me in from the very first page, and I completely devoured this book. I was hooked right from the start and couldn't put it down.

Hunted is book one in Kate Asher's brand new Blackwing Hearts series, and it's the perfect mix of action, suspense, romance, shocking plot twists, and jaw dropping "OMG" moments that kept me turning the pages.
Adelaide is such a feisty, badass, and sassy FMC. Her witty comments and thoughts had me laughing out loud, and I loved following her journey through the brutal world of Blackwing Academy while refusing to back down.

The academy setting was intense, the mystery had me constantly guessing, and I loved getting multiple POVs, which added so much depth to the story. The chemistry between Adelaide and her men was full of tension, banter, and just enough slow-burn to leave me desperate for more.

Kate is such a talented author, and once again she's created a story that completely consumed me. Hunted was addictive from beginning to end, and I still can't stop thinking about it.

I had the absolute pleasure of Beta Reading Hunted by Kate Asher, and when I tell you "you'll be obsessed" I mean it.

Buckle up, fuckers - you are not at all ready for how hott, tense, amusing, and downright consuming Blackwing Academy is.

Between assassins assassinating, glorious pop culture references, and characters that will have you either swooning, gagging or cackling, you may also find yourself with a new book boyfriend (or three).

I believe I said it best when I told Kate herself "I LOVED crown and blood. LOVED.
Hunted though? Totally different kind of love. Crown and Blood feel like home and family now. Hunted feels like becoming acquainted with another part of myself, like empowering but thrilling all at once."

It was flirty, fun, and absolutely had me scowling at my dead vibe. But in true Kate Asher fashion, our girl PULLED ZERO FUCKING PUNCHES. There were characters I loathed, moments I teared up (okay, sobbed and called Kate a bitch... again), and events that had me blushing or gnawing on my cheek (sometimes both).

All of that to say...
✨️ this book is fucking lush.
✨️ Dek is my new obsession, and I will ANNIHILATE anyone who tries to take him from me.
✨️ we should all worship the ground Kate walks on for the remainder of our lives.

ARC review 10/07/2026:
While battling the migraine from hell, immediately bursting into tears at the dedication, then sliding into the authors DMs to yell at her AGAIN for making me learn new things at 9:17pm.. I devoured Hunted in 2 hours and 34 minutes.

As usual, Kate Asher's writing kept me in an absolute chokehold at the end of my seat, begging my eyes to devour the words quicker. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, and then I laughed again. I got to experience the joy of listening and reading simultaneously that scratched my ADHD brain just right.

I took multiple ice buckets to get through some of the scenes and slightly resented my parents living down the end of the hallway for my poor dear B.O.B being neglected yet again.

This why choose, assassin's academy deliciously hilarious and heartbreaking book will steal a bit of your soul, and I'm yet to find a reason to be mad about it. I cannot wait to read this again, and again, and again.

Check out the amazing character reveal art on Kate's pages, hype my girl up and give this book the love it deserves.

Wow, Kate Asher has done it again.
What an incredible time I had reading this book.
The stakes = high
the setting: assassin training academy (ACADEMY SETTINGS ARE MY FAVOURITE!!)
the FMC: fierce, funny, loyal, strong, compassionate.
And best of all, the MMC. Wait, I mean MMCS. YES. MULTIPLE. Ughhh the way I am in love with these men!!!
Each with their own addictive traits and the way the tension plays out is so satisfying. 🥵

YES TO HAVING THEM ALL. I deserve that. Oops, I mean Addie deserves that.

This book isn’t just lead by the romance it is equally plot heavy and it will leave you on the edge of your seat. Literally. The rollercoaster I have gone through. Idk if this book was healthy for me because of how much many drastic cortisol, adrenaline, dopamine spikes I was going through😂

I NEED BOOK TWO IMMEDIATELY!!!

I had the most amazing opportunity to be a beta reader for Kate for her next book, Hunted

If Kate Asher writes it, I will be reading it! I have been a fan of Kate's since her debut - Crown of Olympus - and this next journey of hers absolutely did not disappoint.

Hunted is the first novel in a new assassin academy series. Fans of Tate James will absolutely be obsessed with this.

In Hunted we follow Addie as she graduates the assassin academy and is sent on her first mission with her three, very sexy, handlers.

If you love reverse harem, why choose, with a stabby, sarcastic FMC and a plethora of ingenious 2000s pop culture references then this is definitely the one for you!

The writing is witty and addictive, the story is fast paced and thrilling, and the spice is *chefs kiss*. Kate will have you belly laughing, kicking your feet, blushing, all of it!! Oh and she'll leave you open mouthed and begging for book 2 with that ending!!

If you liked the TV series Alias or the movie, Red Sparrow, then you will love Hunted, as it had all those vibes. I whipped through this book in half a day. It is a quick read, action packed, fast paced and super addictive, I just couldn't put it down from the time I picked it up.

I felt the chemistry between the three hunky instructors and Adelaide right from the outset; it was woven into the story without being overbearing, I loved the why choose, it was done beautifully.

I loved learning about Adelaide throughout the book, getting to know how she ended up in the Academy, unravelling secrets, mysteries and then the betrayal at the end, OMG. I really need book 2 to unravel all the questions I now have from that cliffhanger.

I think Kate puts actual crack in her books because what the heck?!

This book immediately drew me in, with Kate's easy to read writing and wit. Addie is easily likeable, I found myself wishing I could be just as confident and badass. And the boys? Ooof don't even get me started. I love that they're a mix of different personalities and that they all absolutely adore Addie in their own way. The slow burn absolutely paid off but left me needing more! This book was incredibly fast paced almost leaving me with whiplash as I devoured it but it was a refreshing change from some of my much slower reads recently.

And of course a cliffhanger ending, did I expect anything else?! It's okay... I'll just be here not so patiently waiting for now book two in this series but also book three in Kaye's other series. Sigh.

Once again, Kate wrote another masterpiece full of suspense, humor and spice. Thank you for trusting me with an ARC!

Welcome to Blackwing: an assassin academy. Adelaide Sinclair, our FMC, was taken out of the streets by the academy and is now trained by three hot instructors. YES LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS IS A WHY-CHOOSE. 😍🥵

Get ready to cry a little, laugh a lot, and gasp a fckton too. Bonus point if you're a millennial and love Shrek.

Kate is an incredible writer and storyteller, because she always makes you feel all the feelings in a single book. A greek inspired romantasy or an assassin academy why-choose romance... She nails perfection every time.

Tropes to look for:

🐦‍⬛ Assassin academy romance
🐦‍⬛ Why-choose
🐦‍⬛ Forced proximity
🐦‍⬛ Nicknames
🐦‍⬛ Women's health rep.
🐦‍⬛ Betrayal

I received this book as an ARC.

This the why choose of my dreams! Kate Asher has done it again and created a new obsession.

This story made me laugh, fall in love with not one but THREE men, stressed me out with unpredictability, and kept me wanting multiple scenes to turn x rated but to my dismay, did not.

The FMC Addie is a badass at assassin academy with a spicy attitude and she truly is the luckiest girl when it comes to her MMC situation. She hit the lottery there.

Speaking of, I NEED more Beck, Dek and Van. Their chapters were not nearly long enough. You start to really get to know them and then the damn story ends.

Which means, this is well written because I am hungry for more.

Hunted is captivating and will keep you hooked until you turn the page and realize you’re at the acknowledgments.

Can’t wait for book two already!

I’ve been a Kate Asher fan since I was lucky enough to become an ARC and then Beta reader for her The Hades Trials series and I am so thrilled to be an ARC reader for her new contemporary romance series, Blackwing Hearts. Once again, Kate is the queen of one-line zingers, making even the most unrelatable situations relatable by infusing them with humor and levity. I’m not usually a why choose reader, so this book definitely surprised me. Each of the MMCs in this book brought something different to the dynamics, almost like if you took all 3 of them and put them together, they’d be your best friend and your biggest rivalry all at once and something about that, just felt right with this book! I may or may not have rambled a list of “I NEED TO KNOW” questions at Kate immediately after finishing the book, so now the wait begins for when book 2 is in my grabby little raccoon hands.

Kate has done it again and served up another delicious story you are going to eat up.
With an Assassin Academy setting you can bet that the stakes are going to be high. Adelaide Sinclaire has a goal and isn't about to let anyone get in her way. Not the commanders son who wants her dead and especially not her 3 annoyingly hot instructors.
Good thing this is a why choose and just like Addie you don't need to pick your next book boyfriend ( i did though and Beckett is mine so pick someone else)

You will find well placed humour, the best pop culture references (shrek anyone?), characters you will love and ones you will love to hate. A story that is fast paced but hits all the marks along the way.
This is only the beginning though and I cannot wait to see what book 2 is going to bring.

HOLY FXCKING SHIT!
WHAT DID I JUST READ?
THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!

I am in awe with Kate's writing. She's truly phenomenal and hits the mark all the damn time. Every chapter, every page is humming with desire for more.

I loved every character, even the naughty ones. Kate knows. 😏🤭

The dialogue was well done. I loved the conversations between all the characters. I found myself laughing so much.

The shocks and twists had me in a literal fxcking chokehold. Like, excuse me? What a unique story!!!

I need book 2 in my hands YESTERDAY. After that ending, I'm dying to know what happens next.

I'm so excited for the next Kate Asher book I get to pick up and read.

Firstly I want to thank Kate for this arc, I’m extremely lucky to witness your glory first hand.

This book was great! Without giving anything away, this really gave me Assassins Blade feels as far as the academy assassin setting was concerned but then implemented the dark twisted sarcastic humour that Kate is renowned for.

This book is filled with more pop culture references than the amount of rom coms set in the nineties. My favourite revolves around a particular short fashionista with a bob cut from an “incredible” film.

If you love why choose, academy setting, sassy bad ass fmcs and a good cliffhanger, this is gonna be right up your alley.
