This is part 1 of a 3 part series. All 3 Parts of this Series are Available Now! "I've earned every single thing I've got in this world, and not on my knees." Kendra knows what it's like to watch someone work three jobs and still struggle to pay the rent. She has spent her entire young adult life determined to do better. In a few months, the lifetime of sacrifices will finally be worth it. She will be graduating at the top of her prestigious masters program at Columbia, and finally leave her job at the diner to venture into the world of business. The only thing that could make this moment sweeter would be if her mama was still here to watch her cross that stage and clutch that diploma she's given up everything for.
When Matthew Blackwell, the infamous billionaire bad-boy bachelor, shows up out of the blue in her diner asking for a date, Kendra's world is lurched sideways. With girls lined up around the block to be his "next mistake", Matthew could have almost any woman in New York City, or possibly the world. However, Kendra isn't interested in being his flavor of the week, until he hits her in her soft spot... her ambition. Despite her best attempts to keep her distance, Matthew's stunning good-looks and mischievous flare keep pulling her toward him.
Will she unlock the heart of the unbreakable bad-boy or will Kendra become another victim of Matthew Blackwell's reputation?

Sadie Black is a 30-something author living on the east coast. She's married to a man who isn't a billionaire, but is her happily ever after (and they have four rugrats to prove it).
If she isn't dreaming up steamy romance stories or chasing her children then someone should file a missing person report, because she is always doing one or the other.
And here we have another 50 Shades ripoff with a billionaire with a pension for black coochie and diner food. Look. I can't take this overdone IR cliche anymore. STOP IT! The impoverished, overwrought, sexually repressed, judgmental chick gets her mind and her pussy blown wide open must stop. I seriously could not even finish. I know this review is kind of mean, but c'mon! There's no excuse for lazy writing. This genre has to get it together. Everyone is acting like they did not see the other 300 authors who wrote the same story!
Indebted by Sadie Black in one incredible romance that every woman will want to read. A stunning story how how one young woman pulls herself up in the world working on finishing her Masters degree in Business when fate decides to intervene. Thus, the hot white blue-eyed bachelor, Matthew Blackwell. A major Business man who has his way with the ladies. And it's no wonder. His sexy hot looks and his money make him an irresistible target. From the first moment, Sadie saw him at her table she felt lust instantly but as soon as he spoke the lust all but disappeared. Now, Matthew wants to make it up to Sadie and prove to her that he is indeed a better man than what she thinks, but can he pull it off?
Sadie Black has beautifully crafted a timeless romance story that her readers won't forget. A woman finding the courage deep within her to put her heart out on the line for a man who is way beyond her social status. A novel that shows no matter what walk of one comes from or what color your skin tone is, that anyone can make a better life for themselves if they take the chance. An inspiring and realistic story set in its own unique way. I enjoyed reading this well written plot and look forward to reading Indebted part 2 and Indebted part 3 by Sadie Back. I highly recommend this novel to readers everywhere and rate it a five out of five stars.
I had to rest a lot before completely reading this book
This book had so much potential, the writer is not without skill, she has it but she makes the characters so spinelessly weak, only person strength was Marjorie, sad strong characters bring a good story line, not done here.
This is a wonderful erotic romance. I will review all three parts of the series on each of the novellas review page. Books 2 is a continuation of Book 1 and Book 3 is the conclusion. (You can purchase all three books as a set now for $.99) I would snap up the set today in case the price increases soon. I read all 3--one after the other the same day. These are easy reads that move at a great pace. There are no long dragged out times dwelling on their demons--and they do have some to overcome.
It is the story of a notorious new York billionaire player who falls in love with a beautiful African-american waitress. Race is never an issue except when Matthew's ex, Marjorie, who desperately wants him back, uses it to try and scare Kendra off. Marjorie is either a very evil adversary or a psychopath, or maybe both. She does cause them to break up twice, but loses in the end.
Kendra works in a greasy spoon diner helping to pay her way through Columbia toward a Master's degree in business. She is only a short time from reaching her goal. Her mother killed herself in her early 40's working 3 jobs trying to keep her children in a safe neighborhood and food on the table. Her father was killed when Kendra was young.
The big question is why does a billionaire playboy who could have any woman in New York state, show up at the lowly diner asking Kendra to accompany him to a gala fundraiser at his Hampton's estate. What is his connection with Kendra? This is the question that is not fully answered until near the end of Book 3. The title gives you an idea, but no clue as to the answer.
He comes to the diner to tell her something and falls for her the first time he sees her--no makeup, her hair a curly mess and wearing a dingy waitress outfit. He is the most handsome man she has ever seen and is drawn to him immediately. And no matter how hard she tries to not fall for him her virgin body betrays her every time he gets close to her. He does not tell her the secret he came to the diner to tell as he is afraid of losing her.
They have the most incredible sex and a lot of it. There is no bad language, but a lot of descriptive sex. It is not gratuitous, but helps bind them together as they both seek to let go of their pasts.
Book 3 is Act 3 of the story, so I will not give away any spoilers.
I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves a great love story with some fabulous sex.
I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest opinion and a review.
Kendra is a very hard working grad student and she is putting herself through school by waiting tables at a local diner. While working a long double shift, Kendra has a very unpleasant encounter with a customer, who she finds out that he is one of the city's most eligible wealthy bachelors.
Matthew very much wants to make up for his rude and horrid behaviour by taking Kendra out on a date. And this date is explosive it leads to the beginning of a fast paced romance. However, a misunderstanding occurs and just may fracture there romance and love before it has a chance to take flight.
Kendra and Matthew are very likeable characters. And their chemistry was sublime right from the very start. Kendra she is a girl with drive and goals for her life and is willing to put in the hard work and all the extra work to make her dreams come true as well as being a successful.
As she is very focused on school and her future, her love life or lack of one has suffered. Kendra is 24 and still a virgin. For me, this is where you have to give and take. Kendra held on to her virginity for a reason, but very easily gave it Matthew without any promise of a future at all. I found it hard to be overly believable.
I couldnt help but find Matthew self absorbed am still half and half if he is the one for Kendra, and if he is he needs to put her first.
This is the first instalment and i found it quick fast paced and a great read. I am so looking forward to the next instalment of this book i have to find out how the cliffhanger is resolved.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I liked Kendra and Matthew. You could sense their chemistry from their first meeting. Kendra has drive and goals and is willing to work hard and put in the extra work to make her dreams a success. Because she is so focused on school and her future, her love life has suffered. At twenty-four, Kendra is still a virgin. For me, this is where you have to suspend reality. Kendra held on to her virginity, but easily gave it Matthew without any promise of a future. I didn't find that to be believable.
Overall, the first installment of Indebted was quick and captivating read. I am looking forward to the next installment to find out how the cliffhanger is resolved.
I was surprised by this book. I wasn't expected to move as quickly as it did. This novella had quite a punch for its length. It almost has a serial feel, where the action rises and keeps going until close to the very end.
Kendra is very driven and focused, She's going to make something of herself, all on her own, and there is no one that can stop her. Although she has siblings, I get the feeling she is very alone after the death of her parents. Her attraction to Matthew is immediate. The fact that she is a 24 year old virgin who has never seen a naked man seems a little too unbelievable to me, but I just went with it. It wasn't enough to keep me from enjoying the story though. I would have enjoyed it just as much no matter what her sexual experience. She did give it up a little quickly for her inexperience, especially since their first date ended in such a hurtful way.
I'm not so sure about Matthew though. I have so many questions I need answered where his is concerned. Right now, I'm not sure if he is the right man for Kendra. He seems a little too self-absorbed for my taste. Kendra is out of her element and he doesn't seem to be doing anything to help her adjust.
I foresee Matthew's ex can be a huge problem too. Can't wait to see what trouble she can stir up.
i absolutely HATE to write bad reviews because i know how much time and effort authors put into their work; however, i had a hard time with this one because everything was happening so fast and sex seemed to be included as a filler. there were many, many moments when i thought, stop reading, but i kept going, hoping it would get better. unfortunately it did not, for me. the story idea itself was not bad, but the execution of words just didn't work for me. if you like quick reads with no substance, this might work for you. i personally like to get to know the characters and feel somewhat invested in their lives since i'm spending so much time with them.
spoilers
kendra is a waitress pursuing her doctorate. matthew is a gazillionaire who stops in for a burger. that right there was my red flag to stop reading #1, altho it was explained much later. they go on a date a couple of days later. he wants sex. she kinda does but stops him. after all, she's a virgin. this whole scene is so unreal. he actually sends her home in his car. wth! blinking red flag #2. and it just continued on like that. not surprisingly, i believe he confesses his love for her within the first couple of days.

Kendra Cole was a college student who was getting her Master’s in Business. She was a well-educated black woman who worked hard to get thru school and make ends meet. I love the strength that Kendra shows. She is a type of girl that takes nothing off of no one.
Matthew Blackwell was a handsome successful billionaire. He just happened into the dinner that Kendra was working in. There was just something about her that he just could not resist asking her out. He found out pretty quickly that Kendra was not easy to win over and not easy to impress.
In this book you will find love, passion, new found hope, betrayal, and heartbreak. This was an awesome book and cannot wait to see what happens next. You will not want to put this book down when you start reading.
I was introduced to Sadie Black a few weeks ago. This is the 2nd book I have read of hers. She is an awesome author. She is a type of writer that can pull you right into the story and you hang on every word you are reading. I so recommend her books.
I didn’t realize this was a cliff hanger, so I’ll say the ending caught me by surprise, and left me feeling miffed. I loved the start of this book. Kendra is a hard working young female putting herself through college. She’s smart, independent, and incredibly driven. I was cheering her on as she left class, and went to the diner that paid the bills, but left her dead on her feet. I also agreed with the way she handled rude customers. Then Matt comes on the scene.
The attractive billionaire seemed to run hot and cold. I could never trust him for that reason. One minute he was all about her, and the next he was brisk and dismissive. Their romance went hyper speed, and I had a hard time believing the twenty-four year old virgin would decide to sleep with a man after two dates, and an incredibly rocky start. I really wanted to see more from Matt, so I could decide how I felt about him. For that reason I gave this a four star. I’m interested in reading more from Sadie and seeing how she continues to hone her skills.
I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book. I read and read review after review. I finally decided to take a chance and read it. Luckily I also knew from the reviews that it was only book one of a three books series so I bought them all together. I must say I was very pleased with the story. Yes it moved fast but not as fast as some others I have read which was actually a good thing. Most short romance books tend to cram an entire porn into like to pages and it is just disturbing. These stories actually had some sustenance and grit. I really did enjoy the story and I would recommend this book.
This book starts out showing how through hurt pain and loss one woman continues working to achieve her goal in life by graduating with the master degree in business. Kendra meet Matthew at her job in a diner. he asked her out and she decline. but being one of connection in the business world she decided to date him. there is clearly A connection between the two. Kendra is a woman who is strong and will not allow anyone to mess over her. book 1 ended on a very high and a cliffhanger that was not expect.
Okay this is short and simple, which I'm sure this is what it was intended. The plot of the story is an old one and it works. The fire and chemistry between the two main characters. What I don't get are the steps missing in the telling of the story.I love the fun best friend and her antics. This has the makings of a good solid story, just wish the writer had taken time
Not bad. The plot is pretty good. I just wish it was longer so that the characters are flushed out a bit more. At the moment it reads as a really good concept and skeleton of a book.
I think the author should add more l, more detail, more story otherwise it moves just so quickly. But I do l like it just wish there was more of it. I feel the same way about part 2.
This book is no longer available on Amazon. Truly an enjoyable, but predictable read. Another author that breaks up, what should be one book, into three. It was a pleasant story and likable characters, but I didn't have that, "I'm sorry it's over" feeling that normally comes after reading a great book. It's consistent with most of the IRR books on the market.
This is my first time reading Ms Black, and I'm impressed. Her story is simple but real. I can identify with the characters. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Kendra has caught the eye of billionaire bad boy Matthew Blackwell. They have a few dates and she realizes that she really likes him. But she sees him with another woman and gets upset. Looking for part 2.
Really liked this one. Did she jump into the sack with him to soon....hmmm. yes but at the same time she felt something for him so understandable. Is Brianna innocent ...yes.is he not so sure. Will decide in next book. It's.
This is a good love story. It focused on a young black woman pushing her way in the world. She doesn't go for handouts. She tries to do it on her own. Unfortunately, sometimes you need help from your friends and people who care about you. Don't take everything for granted or jump to conclusions.
Author did a great job of writing this book. Absolutely love the hard working young lady who is just trying to better herself. This young lady has integrity and she wants to be loved. Excited about next book.
Love the book even though I'm not normally in to falling in love so quickly or books that are written a few chapters a at a time. With all that said I can't wait for the next one.
I really enjoyed this 1st installment. It has me sitting on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to get to some WiFi to get the next installment. Great Read!!!
