I do NOT write this review lightly. I don’t. I wanted to love this.
It had all my favorite things; fated mates, nerdy characters, easy relationships, hockey, werewolves, witches etc.
Who doesn’t love those things? But I got half way through it and I had said “wait, what?” More than 10 times. The story jumps from point to point. The points are GREAT but there is no room for the story to grow on those points bc the author didn’t make room.
There’s a reference to a kidnapping, well more than a few. And no chapters on the kidnapping but it JUST happened. And it’s made him jumpy and it was because of rival werewolf packs? Whyyyyyy is there to meat to that part of the story!
Yall can try this if you’re used to this kinda writing. But it’s not for me. I’m giving 2 stars because while I couldn’t finish it I still have hope that it would get better
But honestly? Not a fan. I’m so sorry 😞 I really really tried. But I just….cannot.

This was an entertaining paranormal romance with plenty of twists along the way.
Kyle was easily my favourite part of the book. He's such a supportive, caring hero, and as Destiny enters his life, he's all in. Their relationship is sweet, even as a decision and a spell gone wrong sends their lives in an unexpected direction.
The story packs in a lot. Werewolves, witches, unicorns, hockey, surrogacy, family drama, and fated mates… While I enjoyed many of those elements individually, together they made the story feel a little busy at times, with so much happening that it occasionally struggled to give every plotline room to develop properly.
Overall, though, Kyle and Destiny were easy to root for, and Kyle in particular made this a worthwhile read, especially with those funny moments towards the end...
I’m actually giving this book 3.5 stars. Romantasy is not usually my go to type of romance, though I do read it on occasion, but I am trying to expand my reading. This book was sweet and a pretty quick, easy read. It took a little to get into at first, unsure why, but I definitely settled in about a third of the way through. Destiny an Kyle were likeable characters, and sweet together. It did feel at times like I’d missed something, or felt a bit disjointed. I was gifted a free ARC of this book by Kat, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I recieved this book as an ARC for my honest review.
I have to say I had high hopes for this book. However, it felt disjointed, and choppy. There was no warning when it would jump forward in time. To me it felt more like a detailed outline than a finished book. There were times I was confused and wanted to put it down. I felt like there were major pieces missing. I also did not feel connected to the characters at all.
Unusually entertaining, this story is more about connections than romance. While Kyle and Destiny instantly fall for each other and turn out to be mates, circumstances change their paths towards something unexpected. This was an interesting read with complex characters and unique world building. It was absolutely enjoyable!.

This was a quick, enjoyable read. I do think there are parts that feel a bit rushed and confusing for the reader (the kidnapping situation isn't explained at all). Some additional explanation would have gone a long way.
But, I did enjoy the characters and the nerdy aspects.
The relationship between the FMC and MMC was completely adorable.
I'm voluntarily leaving a review after receiving a free copy. I liked how Kyle and Destiny meet and fall in love. It was great how she helped him. I found it really interesting and special in the lengths Destiny and Kyle went to to help Dino and Theo have a child and for the first years of Diem's life.
This is a good story about fated mates, friends, witches, werewolves and hockey players that become more to each other. It is a fairly quick read that is a bit different and a little bit rushed in spots. The story is about Kyle and Destiny. I like the build between the characters and the plot line.
this was a quick read. parts of it were cute, fun and exciting. but finding a fated mate isn’t always easy and tough questions get asked. the plot was choppy in places. the characters were good and i appreciate the decisions made for their friends
Forbidden Play by Kat Obie is a great paranormal sport shifter romance. The story is entertaining, enjoyable, steamy, spicy, and more. Forbidden Play is the fifth book in Love the Pack series.

Unfortunately I ended up abandoning this book only a quarter of the way through because I was just so infuriated by all the plot jumps and missing details. Kyle finally had his transition to being a werewolf and this started at the end of a chapter. In the very next chapter it is two weeks later and we never hear more about his transition. It also then transpires that he was kidnapped in that time, but the details of that are not revealed either. And then there is another time jump, this time of about a month, during which him and Destiny had progressed from flirting to being in a full-on relationship. And we are given NO details of how this happened. This is extremely frustrating, but especially so in a Romance novel.
