The loss of her father and betrayal of her stepfather have left her angry and confident that no man will ever win her trust, or possess her heart. That's all tested when the enchanting Levi Drake transfers from her rival school across town. I am sorry to say I could not finish this book. It was nothing like I thought it would be and after 33% in, I had to stop. For me it's fan fiction. There were far too many scenarios copied from Twilight(I could list them, but I won't). I also had a problem with the heroine, Charity. Her character is a damsel-in-distress type who is frequently rescued by the hero, Levi, and I wasn't convinced that she needed it some of the time - like during the fight between the rival jocks. I stopped at the point that Levi tells her he has to find a wife and said wife would need to produce an off-spring, sooner rather than later. Unlike Twilight, the subtext of this story did put me off.

I don't know how many sleepless nights I had hearing Charity And Levi's dialog in my head until I had no choice but to get out of bed and write it down. I have found that you either love Charity's character or you don't, but there is no denying she has a strong one. I just loved writing her. And to me there is no other hero as charismatic and noble as Levi. My primary goal in writing is to delight and entertain. I truly hope this story does that for you.

It was a simple, easy and fast read! Will sure recommend for all paranormal romance lovers like me!

Charity's a tough nut to crack but the newly joined Levi leaves her mushy only to make her intrigue whats the secret behind him...and when she knows it..it makes her world upside down!

Though she loves him more than anything..she has her share of panic attacks(where she applies a lot of her lip balm - i totally loved it..now i have to make sure to buy one LOL!),trust issues, and accepting her upturned life so fastly.

But she fights with all her gut n faces all the challenges given to her..though she don't mind kicking anyone in their ass she also has a heart of gold and belief in god and thinks of peace n redemption..I loved her character.

And then there's levi..the Alpha, protective of his mate, and all so sweet n sexy looks..!

I also liked Ash,Hector n how the story progressed...It has all the twists and turns that make u gasp at appropriate places..and sweet-mushy romance and undying love between Levi and Charity that u desire for.

Oh my there will be a sequel to it..waiting eagerly to see if we get to see Raven in it..and will Charity adjust in her pack with Levi..and of course there's Wesley...i also want to read of Ash n Josh..can we have the book a little earlier..pretty please..?

It definitely was an enjoyable read...would give 4.5.

I feel awful every time I don't finish a book! But I made it to the 45% mark before I gave up..
Charity at the beginning of the book was very loud, obnoxious and in-your-face, she started to change and become some what needy, and then decided to go hell for leather and promise to marry Levi and have his babies.
Their contact is limited to a few arguments, sketching each other, one kiss done for a bet and discovering he's a werewolf because she followed him, and a few 'rescues' because Levi's been stalking her.

After meeting his parents, she agrees to wed him within a few days and start working on having a baby, before she's even eighteen...and the whole point of this union? Because somebody else wants her, so becoming pregnant and married before she's even out of high school is apparently the smart thing to do..

I'm aware how much blood, sweat and tears goes into trying to make not just a book, but characters that you fall in love with so hard, it's difficult to think of stopping the book at any point. So bad reviews aren't easy, but they are honest. Some people might love this book completely, judging by the reviews, I'd say more than some, but it just wasn't for me.

Their relationship felt too similar to..you guessed it..Bella and Edward, but at least Twilight had the decency to give the couple 4 books worth of love before marriage and children was an option, this couple had..what? About 4 minutes :/

Now a glimpse: Charity is a very difficult gal, she have a toughest wall (even for the hottest guy, mind you). When the new students arrive she suspects something is up and drags her friend to ease their growing curiosity. Who would have though that was the freaking great idea she had ever had, for there was the start of their budding and smack to chest love for each other!. And the other alpha leader also wants to be with her (i know right luck girl), after many bruise and heart ache the wedding between the two was done and the scent put( just read it!). After the pack now the ever present vampires are present, they sent a beautiful alpha-female out to seduce Levi or so she though. She was eventually kidnapped and tuck away for her captor to be a bride (no surprise there Charity!). She was then returned when she was about to die from being afar to Levi due to their heart connection *insert sigh*. NOW they copulated and then BAM! she was healthy again! :)

It was an exhausting up and down, and fight and make-up. BUT the story was so much better than I thought, loved the stubborn angel that Charity presents ( ya go GIRL!) and of course the very loving and devoted Levi. So much for that, the book was awesome and More Power!

With a beautiful cover like this it's hard to resist not checking out what charity moon is all about.
This book was not what I was expecting but ohmysweetgoodness I really enjoyed it!!!!

Charity is no nonsense high school girl, she has sworn off boys and has trust issues.Enter Levi Drake who is extremely handsome and swoon worthy and has a secret that keeps her on toes all the time. I also loved Ashley, Charity’s BFF and partner in crime.

When Charity and Ashley plan to find all about the secret they did not realize that they have signed in for the biggest roller coaster ride of their life.
And of course there is lots of romance I'm so glad I decided to read this. This is exactly the kind of book that I love to read. There was a solid story line, action, strong characters, and a great writing style.

I can’t wait for the sequel, I want it right now !!!!

I just couldn't read this book without thinking how cheesy and how fake it felt. Nearly every line that starts with 'oh Levi!' and 'thank you!' made me cringe, the writing was completely amateur and parts of it felt like wannabe twilight. I felt that I had to be stupid to actually read it without criticizing every plot twist. Charity is too weird a character for my liking. She gives a very unbelievable reason for not speaking out about her stepfather, also Levi seems too good to be true. Predictable Cheesy and Blah,It may appeal a bit more to Christian Readers due to the spiritual aspect in Charity's character, but not my cup of tea.

There was just something about this book that had me from the start. There wasn't all of the graphic violence associated with many paranormal books, so it made for a nice, leisurely read. The teenaged main character was pretty self-confident, seemed to know what she wanted and the teenaged male was wise in so many ways beyond his years, while starting out a little mysterious and dark. The writing was well-done and the story flowed well from beginning to end. All I had to do was put myself into a YA mindset and I was good to go!

I look forward to more from this author.

The love story was so intense. There was so much going on. I could not put it down. I loved how Charity kept her faith through the whole book and was even able to share her faith with those who surrounded her. It was awesome!!!

This was such a disappointment and I don't even know where to start.

First of all; I understand that no book can ever be completely error-free. I get that. I'm not demanding perfection but you would think that someone who calls him or herself a published writer would know the difference between "you're" and "your". And if YOU'RE prone to those kind of mistakes, you make damn sure you have an editor who spies them.

Secondly; the heroine fails on pretty much every level. She is unlikeable from the very first page to the last. She claims to be a devout Christian but is judgemental, intolerant and simply a mean and backstabbing little b****. The first time she introduces the reader to her friends she says this one girls isn't pretty but hey, she's really smart so we all just use her as our lexicon, the other girl is very pretty but she only steals boyfriends and this guy well he just hangs around because he has a crush on the boyfriend stealer. What kind of "friend" talks like that?
She is also completely insufferable as a person. The authour tried to give her this sad background wih her father murdered and her stepfather abusing her but it didn't work. She's always angry, treats everyone like a inferiour idiot and begins to hate a guy simply because he looked at her in a way she didn't like.

She is also too inconsistent and changes her mind on a whim. Within only a handful of days she goes from hating Levi, to agreeing to marry him. Then he says one thing she doesn't like and she storms out again, blowing him off but comes back just as quickly. It's ridiculous.

Speaking of ridiculous, the entire story basically is just a chain of events in which Charity can be the damsel in distress and Levi the knight in shining armour, rescuing her. At some point it just got too bothersome. She has a bad date and gets abandoned in the woods? BOOM Levi saves her.
There's a fight at the football game and she just happens to stumble into it? BOOM Levi saves her. Her stepfather is about to attack her? BOOM Levi saves her.
Oh and if Levi doesn't happen to be around, Charity just have to plea. Wesle kidnaps her and keeps her captive, ordering one of his men to guard her. This tough guy, who is a loyal, submissive fighter for Wesley just listens to her pleas and she is so sweet and so earnest that he helps her escape and defects as well. Sure, because she is just so good and persuading....
And if after all of this you still didn't have enough of the rescuing, let's just bring in a vampire for fun!

Another thing I just couldn't get over was the sudden religious superpower element that was thrown at the reader. I have nothing against religion, just to make that clear. But: Charity is sooo religious? Really? Apart from her less than good Christian behaviour she never picks up a bible, she never says a prayer or even thinks about God throughout the entire book. But then on her wedding day she is impaled by a spear through her chest. A sharp metal object rams through her chest, probably injuring her heart and/or lungs and she dies. But all Levi has to do is say a prayer and then she's back; alive and well and they can keep on celebrating as if nothing happened? Really? I mean that was just the overkill to an otherwise already really bad story.

At the end this book only gives the wrong message in everything: it'sokay to be mean and judgemental as long as you say you're a Christian. It's okay to get married to the guy you met days ago while still in highschool if you really really love him, and let's face it: teenagers always really really love the guy they're with. It's also okay to let your stepfather abuse you wihtout ever mentioning it to your mother or the authorities because, someday theremight be that knight in shining armour, riding on a white horse coming to save you.And yes, it's also completely acceptable to get married in secret, without telling your mother....
Just horrible, all the way horrible. How this book has such a high rating here is beyond my understanding and I only advise future readers to not make the same mistake I did.

To be honest, when I first read the synopsis I didn't think that this book was going to be amazing, I just thought it would be fairly good, but I was surprised to find an engaging and page turning story that had me gripped from the very beginning. It was clear that this book was going to include some sort of paranormal or mythical creature - I assumed werewolf from the cover, and I was right. However, I wasn't sure about anything else really.

The first section of the novel is brilliant. The writing is detailed and capturing, the characters are engaging and the plot is fast paced. I was very impressed by this as I believe Charity Moon is Kinney's debut novel and I believed it to be a really great piece of fiction for young adults. I was less impressed by the second half simply because I thought there was a little bit too much going on. If I were to make a list of all the major plot elements from this first book, I'm sure I could easily separate each one and write and entire novel on each. There were some parts which I felt were very important or shocking that were only mentioned in passing and I don't think enough detail was dedicated to these parts. Nevertheless, there were many twists and turns that I couldn't predict, some of which I was truly amazed at and I commend DeAnna Kinney for her ingenuity. It is very easy to simply copy typical supernatural traits from popular myths and stories, but I think that Kinney has created her own

I would say that this is a great book for Christian teens as the protagonist, Charity Bell, clearly displays some very religious beliefs. I really admired the character Charity because she was strong and independent. It was truly refreshing to read about someone who had such a great sense of morality and a unique take on the world. As the story went on I felt that Charity may have lost some of the fire in her that she had at the beginning which is unfortunate, though necessary in order for her character to develop in other ways. The 'enchanting' Levi Drake with the 'alluring charm' is a character that I think any teenage girl will fall head over heels for. I believe the characters Levi and Charity had such a great chemistry between the two that would've sent sparks flying. Occasionally, it got a little too sappy for my liking, but for the most part, they were simply electric.

There were certain sections which spoke of sex and children which I found thoroughly awkward, though quite funnily so. Ordinarily, I'm all for talking about sex in upper YA novels just for a bit more excitement, but some of the scenes in this book really made me cringe and I couldn't imagine anyone in real life genuinely having such a conversation. That said, later on in the novel, the reader is rewarded with less awkwardness and more sexiness.

All in all, this was a fantastic read that I absolutely flew through. The first half is superb and is brilliantly written, and my only wish is that the second half had been more detailed because this was the section where the plot was at its most exciting. I definitely recommend this to all fans of young adult fiction, particularly fans of romance and the paranormal.

Okay so I have to be honest, I kind of have an obsession with werewolves. Although I mean come on lets be honest here who wouldn't werewolves have the right amount of charm to them and they also have that alpha feel to it. That's why I didn't hesitate to pick up this book when I read the blurb. Going into this I expected a kick butt heroine and well a pretty hot and swoon worthy male lead. What I got was a lot more.
Let's start with Charity. I think that she's that girl that every guy in school wants but is too scared to approach because one of two things will happen. Either a) the girl will destroy the guys ego so bad it will take him years to get over it or b) she will punch him in the face for even trying. Yeah if there was a contest for like Miss Universal Ice-Queen Charity practically has the crown in her hand. However, don't get me wrong there is a reason Charity is the way she is. Her situation at home is something that will cause any girl to behave this way. However, as soon as Levi comes along Charity changes. She opens up takes off the her layers and becomes a really sweet heroine that I totally loved. She tries to see good in everyone though she definitely isn't a Little Miss Sunshine.
Levi. Drake. Boy oh Boy... well I guess I should say Werewolf oh Werewolf :) Where do I start? In a way Levi is your typical Alpha. Protective, possessive, bossy, probably has a little book filled with smart-alecky comments. However, at the same time he is really sweet, and loyal and understanding(for the most part) and just really caring. I guess you could say he was a typical YA hero perfect in every way and there is nothing wrong with that. I mean really, who wants to read about an ugly guy who is a total nobody whose life is extremely boring and who has no idea how to talk to girls? Anyway if you like to read about the perfect guy that gets your expectations wayyyy up then trust me Levi is your guy.
The plot was actually pretty good. Sure there were some things that were pretty obvious like the fact that Levi was a werewolf I mean if the fact that he is extremely bossy didn't give it away, then all the growling should have. Besides that there were certain elements in the story that were totally unpredictable. Like jump out of a jungle smack you in the face and run away kind of unpredictable.
Overall if you like werewolves and a good romance go get this book.

Awesome book it was.

First of all I liked the cover of the book and I did make this cover as my cover photo on my facebook. After reading this book I really regretted that why didn't i read earlier .

It was so good. Let me tell you I love vampires more than werewolves that's why it seemed a little difficult for me to go start this book. It does have vampires in it though I came to know tat later.

But I am glad I finally read this awesome, fast, good book.

This book starts with Clarity who is a strong , brave and best female character . I have always loved strong characters who aren't afraid to do anything what they have to do. She was afraid but still had the strength to overcome obstacles. She had a bad experience of boys due to having her stepfather trying to molest her . She had built up a wall against her

but when Levi comes its starts to change. I really loved that she doesn't give a damn about the boys who have all the girls attention. who is just famous for being handsome.

Levi on other hand was handsome, breathtaking character.I really loved how much he loved Charity and was willing to take risk to be with her. It was love in the first sight. There scenes together was awesome.Loved the romance. And there loads of surprises in it. you gonna love it. At one point i was shocked clarity could do this. I loved the tension between Levi and Clarity. It does have humour in it too.AndI loved the names given by Clarity to Levi!!

The concept of god was just good and I found a little connection with the girl.. I too believe in him but not as much as Clarity and i am happy that she still had hope everything will be alright.

There is a surprise in the book and I think that's a good thing ..some magic !!

Lets talk about villains ...I found that Weasley was the worst of the villain in the book then Raven .. But I did like that Clarity brevity and dealing with both of them .No wonder all the villains like her and keep kidnapping her

I loved the pace of the book. And one more thing ..I am also a big fan of lip gloss and I think i need to apply those more often after reading this book.

Loved the secondary characters too.

Loads of action, love, risks are there .

Ratings-4.25 I loved this book a lot. I just wanted the romance part to be more developed that the characters should have been given a little more time to fall in love deeply but still I loved it.

“I huffed, knelt down, and was in the process of gathering them up when I stared, in disbelief, at the paper in my hand. I wasn’t sure what to make of it, but I was looking at my face drawn beautifully five different times with the emotions listed off under each one; anger, fear, depression, confusion, and awe.”Charity from Charity Moon

Amazing, right? That part had me grinning like crazy. Let’s face it, it pretty much sums up how most high school kids feel when they fall in love for the first time. A crazy mix of conflicting emotions. But it also sums up this story perfectly. Charity Moon invoked all these emotions in me and more.

Charity Moon is a cute story of girl meets werewolf and falls in love. But, like all star-crossed lovers, Charity and her love interest, Levi, face some challenges that threaten to rip them apart. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles and find true love? You’ll have to read Charity Moon by DeAnna Kinney to find out.

I absolutely loved Charity. I loved her passion, her loyalty to her beliefs, her spunk. Her spiritual aspects were a bit intense at times and sometimes seemed out of place but this also completely worked for her character and made her a bit more interesting.

The concept of the heart connection was adorable, and I loved it. I don’t want to give anything away, but I do need to say that Kinney did a wonderful job with it. I really felt what the lovers were going through and enjoyed every second of it.

The setting and descriptions were awesome. The wolf complex, where a good portion of the story took place, was described in vivid detail, and it was definitely unique and creative.

My only drawback, which I would like to stress is a personal opinion only, was how many bad guys there were. I would have loved to see this story broken into two books. Each “battle” felt rushed and made the story feel a bit unorganized. I guess, personally, I wanted more closure. But as it is, I’m still wondering, what happened with Wesley? I hope this will come up again in the second book. I have to admit that at times I was rooting for him. :) He was an awesome bad guy and a complete contrast to the extremely nice love interest, Levi.

I really enjoyed this read. It had the perfect amount of action, romance and cheesy giggling moments. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun and easy read.

Charity lost her father and soon after her mother marries a man who makes her mom happy, but every night he tries to get into Charitys room. She doesn’t trust me, she doesn’t date and she doesn’t let anybody know what her life is really like. Levi transfers to Charitys school and when he sees Charity he wants her. Charity doesn’t know why she wants Levi and she is determined to stay as far away from him as possible. Then the other students start to transfer and they all hang out with Levi. Charity and her friend want to find out what is going on, when they spy on Levi they end up find out that Levi and all the transfers are werewolves and Levi wants Charity for his mate. Charity has to decide if she can trust Levi and really love him. While they are trying to figure out their relationship other people are trying to keep them apart and more than one person wants Levi dead. These people same people want Charity for themselves. Charity is a spitfire, she sticks up for herself and doesn’t care what other people think about her, but she has a deeply hidden soft side that only comes out when she trusts a person. Levi is a young man who acts older than his age and goes for what he wants. He protects Charity and he loves her with everything he has. There friends support them and lighten the mood when it is desperately needed. The villains of the book are not your cookie cutter evil just because villains, they have some really valid reasons for doing the things that they do. I loved the world that Kinney created, the description of the wolves’ compound was beyond anything that I could imagine. I really liked how the author did not make it love at first site with the H/h, she made the relationship seem realistic especially since the main characters were still in high school. The book was really well written, each scene flowed seamlessly into the next one. The obstacles that the H/h has to overcome keep the book interesting, but there are not so many of them that it becomes confusing and you need a flow chart. I did notice a few spelling errors and couple times when I switched pages on my kindle a couple of the words got left out. There was one scene that really disappointed me, but I don’t want to spoil the book so I won’t describe it. I liked the book and can’t wait to read the second one.

Charity Moon by DeAnna Kinney is the first novel in the series and it’s an amazing read. It’s a novel that you’ll read fast, not only because it’s easy to read but also because the storyline and the characters are fabulous.

Charity Bell is an eighteen year old young woman, who lost her father and still struggles with his dead. She cannot get along with her new stepfather and is afraid to be alone with him. So she is spending a lot of time with her best friend Ash after school or locks herself up in her bedroom until her mother gets home from work. Now there is a new man in her life that turns her world upside down.

Levi Drake has been transferred from the school across town and is immediately drawn to Charity. He knows she’s forbidden for him, but he cannot ignore the huge attraction towards her. Charity knows something is up with this boy and when she discovers his secret of whom and what he really is, she freaks out a little. But it appears she is stronger than they thought by adapting in his world.

Charity and Levi are both great character, the moment you start reading you will loved them. Charity has a lip balm fetish and cannot seem to live without that stuff. Levi is definitely the alpha he needs to be, although he’s very young he takes the job very serious.

I also loved secondary characters Ash, Josh and Hector. Ash is Charity’s best friend and will do anything to keep Charity save. Josh is Levi’s second in command and also drawn to the human girls instead of their own people, so of course Ash isn’t save from him. Then we have Hector; who is really a member of the rival pack but decide to switch pack after meeting Charity.

Miss Kinney has written a fabulous novel where she created an amazing world with great characters. I found myself turning page after page because I wanted to see what happened next between Charity and Levi and if they were going to get a happy ending after what their evil enemies Wesley and Raven did to them.

I’m already looking forward to the sequel Charity Uprising and cannot wait to read it.

I would classify this book as Paranormal/YA/Christian... Perhaps a first. At least a first that I've read. The paranormal/YA elements are immediately evident with the teenage girl falling for the handsome other-worldly boy, the christian theme kinda sneaks up on you. At first with a few references to Charity's belief in God and later it becomes a more predominant part of the story with Charity being healed by a miracle from God because Levi prayed for her rather than using his own magical powers to heal her. It was unexpected to see these two elements intertwined; paranormal and christian. I've never read anything like it before. It is a unique blend of themes.
The story is reminiscent of Twilight at first, however I think any story with the premise of "teenage girl falls for handsome mythical-creature boy" will cause readers to compare and contrast the two books as they read. I was very happy to see that this story branched out into it's own territory and was not in fact a retelling of Twilight, but a story all its own.
My biggest problem with the plot was the way Charity handled the situation with the perverted step-father. I didn't agree with her logic that it was best not to tell her mother, however that was the only thing about Charity that I didn't like. Her sarcasm and wit made the character ring true to me as a typical teenage girl. I loved the knick names Charity would come up with for Levi. "Puppy" was my favorite.
I did find myself thinking of the characters when I was not reading the book, and to me that is the sign of a good book. When the characters follow you through the day. When you wonder what will happen next and look forward to re-visiting their world, then I think the author has done their job.
Overall I enjoyed reading this book. I respected the authors choice to blend two genres that usually seem at odds. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys YA or who is looking for a paranormal that steers clear of the darker elements that usually go along with that genre.

Charity Anna Bell is your average 18 year old, finishing up her last year of high school. Well, other then the fact that she has to hide herself; for example when she comes home from school she goes directly to her room, locks the door and props a chair under the door knob for the last three years; to keep her pervert stepfather out of her room. Because of this Charity has "male issues" and does not allow herself to get close to guys. That is until the day that Levi Drake transfers to her school.

Levi is the epitome of hotness. Every girl at Charity's school is drooling over him. Levi seems to be somewhat interested in Charity and she feels a spark, but Charity does not want to give him the time of day due to the above stated "daddy issues". She is downright rude to Levi, but Levi can handle himself. He is used to fighting for what he wants. On at least two separate occasions Levi saves Charity. He soon learns her "dirty little secret", then she learns his. He is not what he seems.

I quite enjoyed this book. At times it was a little Twilightish for me (I won't go into details because I want you to read the book and find out for yourselves about the paranormal surprise). Never the less, I still took joy in reading this novel. There was not a love triangle but what I would call a love trapezoid lol. (Check out my blog for the diagram http://justinevandale.blogspot.ca/ ). But Charity and Levi only had eyes for each other, they were soul connected. And had matching markings to prove it. They even went as far to prove their love as continuosly risking their lives for each other and they proved that they would rather die they be without one another.

The only thing that I felt was snuck into the book was I found a lot of "God" references that kind of made me uncomfortable. Otherwise I really enjoyed this book. I read it in a few hours. I will be looking forward to reading the next instalment.

I was given this book for an honest review.

4 stars

With young adult books I treat them a little different. I try to look at them in my daughters point of you and ask myself what would she think of this book. I think she would have really enjoy it. I liked that charity was a very strong female lead. The one that takes nothing and holds nothing back. She is strong, head strong and gets what she wants. Now also she lives with a secret that she hides from everyone. I think that this character in this book is really worth reading about. Levi, the alpha, let me tel you I loved him. He's strong, protective, and a leader. He comes to a new school and falls for charity instantly and well needless to say charity fights it terribly. I love these two. Their bickering, the monologue between the two is one of the best. The secondary characters just as good. They all have their place and well it makes you enjoy the book as it goes on. What I was disappointed that charity got a little wishy washy but didn't take away from the book. You do get invested in this book more and more as it goes on and what is extremely cool about this book there isn't just one big thing that happens in this book, it keeps giving you more and more throughout the book. Secrets are revealed and drama is there, but you still have the romance stuck right in the middle. Remember this is a paranormal book and I think that added part makes the book even more enjoyable.

Loved this author and I'm totally invested in this book. I can't wait to read more about charity and levi and I hope it only gets better. I know there is four books in this series and very excited to see where the author goes from here. This is a book that I would let my kids read and that's just an extra bonus for me. I couldn't finish reading this book. I started out with high hopes but noticed very quickly just similar it was to Twilight although I didn't see it noted anywhere that it was fan fiction.

The first time I almost stopped reading it was Not only is it highly unrealistic (even as supernatural books go) I felt almost as if I were reading the writing of a teenager.

The second time I almost stopped was at

I don't usually read paranormal stories of any kind, however, I had heard of this author and decided to take a peek at the first few pages. Immediately, I was captivated by her writing. I loved it. It was quirky and fun, so I bought the book and read it through just to enjoy her writing style.

The first third of the book was fantastic and I couldn't turn the pages quick enough. Charity was falling for the new school hunk, Levi. Her trying to resist him was very engaging and I loved they way she thought and her attempts to make him jealous. Then it turned to the paranormal elements. For readers of this genre, that would be great. For me, the pecking order of the pack etc. went a bit too detailed. Again, I would think this would be fascinating for readers who like that kind of storyline, but I was more interested in the Charity/Levi romance aspect than the order of merit for alpha werewolves. But, the author did offer great insight into life in the tribes. So well done for that.

But what kept me going the most was the writing itself. I loved the line "I don't give a rip-roaring rapids." That was gold and her wit was evident throughout the writing. I also have to compliment her ability to tell a story without the use of profanity. A true talent in this day and age.

The story itself was good if you're into the kind of plot. But the author's superior writing skills are what sold me. I would actually give the story 4 stars and the writing 5 stars. So for an average of 4.5, I'll move it to a well warranted 5 stars.

Finishing this might not happen. Charity is one of the worst mc that I have ever read. She is snotty, annoying, and has a bad case of poor me syndrome. She talks badly about her best friend, all her friends really. She talks about how strong she is but she constantly makes stupid decisions and needs to be saved.

Half way in with Levi stating his undying love for her with their soul mate status, then you know what happens? Stop reading if you don't want spoilers. Charity has known Levi for what two weeks tops and he wants to marry her for the good of the pack on Saturday. She asks for space to process this whirlwind probably the best decision she has made thus far in the whole book (even though I hate the way that she goes about it, she has a temper tantrum and storms out like a toddler). The Next Day Levi is flirting with some other girl to make her jealous and makes her cry. What?! You love her yet you want to purposely hurt her- soul mate my butt. Doesnt matter because at lunch he admits to trying to make her jealous and she is all like oh ok its fine lets get back together!?
Plus Charity is a major witch to her friends and I can't get over it. How are they even friends with her.

I understand that the author was trying to convey a broken, untrusting, immature girl but it fell flat for me. There hasn't been any growth and even the love interest is insanely stupid.

I usually don't leave books unfinished but this is painful to read and a major waste of my life.

This book would be labeled to me as a YA/ paranormal/romance/light religion. Without giving too much away or spoiling the plot. Charity moon was written in the first person, main character Charity Bell who seems like a typical teenage high school student until the layers of her life are revealed, she has a major well deserved chip on her shoulder and a negative attitude but you feel for her character from beginning to end and go through her emotions with her throughout the story, loosing her father she pulls strength and hope from his religious/spiritual background That gets her through the tough times. In comes Levi Drake a sexy new comer with a protective streak and sweet nature whose hiding something. As their lives intertwine love at first sight meets true love. Twists and turns and intrigue keep the story interesting and the reader wanting to keep reading. There were a few disappointments towards the middle/end with the second wives/first child being a son storyline; my opinion didnt need so much emphasis. The vampires were mentioned briefly in a story being told to Charity by Levi then brought in again then gone again, alittle too fast moving in that part with the foregiveness. Over all I would highly reccomend this story especially if your into YA paranormal. I think the author wrote great characters and the story was one you can't stop reading and in the end want more.. Can't wait to read the second story of this series.

This is a perfect book for Christian YA readers.

Charity Bell is brave, resourceful and has strong moral values that even the best looking boy in school, whom she loves to distraction, cannot overcome under anything but the right circumstances. The Christian theme running through the book is strong and consistent, which I admire. Charity is faced with difficult situations, decisions and dilemmas and comes through them all with flying colours and the book has a satisfying conclusion.

While all this is very well for the kind of reader I mentioned above, it's a little sanitised for the general reader. Charity finds herself in difficult situations that work out without anyone getting hurt too badly, or proving to be totally evil. Redemption is to be found within all the characters which, for me, is a little unrealistic. Given the scenarios in which Charity finds herself, and the actions some of the other characters, I would have expected a more dynamic narrative with far more contrast between good and evil. While the good is very good, the evil is not very evil and for me, the author has sacrificed the story to Christian values to the extent that it loses its dynamism.

However, it is a good read and I would certainly recommend it for the readership it is intended for.

This book was one of the best I've read this year! I was actually really excited to start this book and wasn't disappointed! The characters weren't bad—like at all. I think the only "bad" character was Wesley. Other than that I didn't really see truly evil characters. I like the events that happened in the book, although I wished some scenes were a little more described (no not the love scenes) but I felt like a lot of the scenes were rush, therefore not described to the fullest. Either way, I truly enjoed Charity, her witt and sarcasm was just hilarious! Not to mention the fact that she must have the softest lips in the world (Not to sound weird or anythin) but the girl literally wears lip balm every second of the day. I also thought Levi and Charity's relationship started off weird. They didn't go on a date or close to a date and they're getting married. I guess I do believe in insta love (and even then I thought they said I love you too early) but marriage (even for the pack) before they went on a date seemed a little rushed and weird. Then again it didn't ruin the story, which is great! Overall this book was a major love! It was like a mixure of Prince of wolves by quinn loftis (one of my favorites) and Twilight by stephanie meyers (also my favorite). So I can't really complain. So read it...I dare you!! ;)

Charity Bell is a young woman who knows what she wants, evidently self confident and proves to have a strong moral compass. She is shocked one day when a student from the “East” side is transferred to her “West” side school. It is unheard of such a transfer, you see there is a enormous rivalry between the East and West sides.

Levi Drake is the gorgeous young man that just transferred into Charity school. He is instantly attracted to Charity but she seems to find him intolerable. He knows that Charity is forbidden to him but there is a supernatural draw toward her. Charity knows something is up with Levi and secretly follows him into a woodland meeting where she discovers his secret. Although she freaks at first, she seems to adapt well to the strange new world she’s discovered.

Charity and Levi are wonderful characters and you can’t help but be pulled into this story.

First I have to say, I totally understand Charity’s lip balm obsession :D. The secondary characters are superb and brought an additional kick to the story line. All in all, Charity Moon is a fabulous read that carries you into another world with soul mates, true love, strong faith and even stronger commitment to the miracles those beliefs can produce.

Awesome books one of my favorites!

Charity Bell lives a guarded life. She's sarcastic and rude and prefers to keep people at a distance. Then a boy transfers to her school from their rival school. Levi Drake a.k.a. 'Lava hottie' is prettying what his name implies. But Levi has a secret -yeah it would really be a good book without one- and Charity is determined to find it out.

Romance: ok it was great! It wasn't completely live at first sight, they hated each other!... Well ok maybe strong dislike...
Characters: Charity and Levi are hilarious. For the most part I couldn't stop laughing, and they both evolved along with the story.
Plot: this is what lost the star. The story started becoming repetitive and felt like the author was trying to drag it out. Also there's a God part where He performs a miracle that just sounds like it doesn't belong in the story. (I mean no offense to anybody that does believe in Him) Also, the author forgot a lot of loose ends. Ok, last thing, Charity started running around like a hippie yelling "peace!" It started to hurt after a while, to me it only shows that these villains aren't really villains, they aren't true to their cause.
