Who better to trip head over heels for than my own personal life saver?
Lian When my boyfriend breaks up with me, I’m left with two nonrefundable tickets to my dream Alaskan cruise and no one to accompany me. Seeing that as a problem easily solved, I hit up the Heart2Heart app to find myself a plus-one.
What I don’t expect is Foster, a dimple-possessing sweetheart who doesn’t seem to mind my perpetually bad luck and cheery optimism.
The only hitch? Foster has a fear of open water.
Oh, and I have no clue if he’s remotely interested in me as more than a friend.
Good thing I have fourteen days full of romantic activities to find out. I mean, really, between my two left feet and Foster’s seafood allergy, what could possibly go wrong?
Catch Me Again is a 17,500 word short story rom-com featuring one cruise cabin for two strangers, a series of humorous mishaps, adventures in whale watching and tantric breathing, and a swoon-worthy HEA. It originally appeared in Heart2Heart Anthology Volume 8.
Emmy Sanders, author of sweet, steamy, swoony MM romance, would describe herself as a lover of love. She's obsessed with both reading and writing romance and believes everyone deserves their happy ending. Queer herself, Emmy has a soft spot for LGBTQ+ fiction, but MM is where her heart lies. Her debut novel, Fool Hearts, released in 2022.
What a sweet read for Valentine’s Day! Lian (like Liam with an N) and Foster were so sweet and so funny! I had a great time with them, and at under 80 pages I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t read and love these two. Be prepared to laugh and swoon ! 💙

What do you do when your boyfriend dumps you right before you're supposed to go on a romantic 2 week cruise to Alaska? Put an ad on the Heart2Heart app for a companion, of course!
Lian is the perfect combo of sweet, unintentionally funny and clumsy. He places the ad and Foster accepts which is..great... Even though he has a phobia of open water and is deathly allergic to seafood. What could possibly go wrong?
This cute novella will have you laughing along with these two cuties. Follow along while these strangers do couples massages, tantric workshops all while dodging The Cruise Killer and hidden seafood in the pilaf. I highly recommend!
(PS the audiobook is fabulously narrated by Nick J Russo and is awesome too)
Sometimes, all you need is a small and sweet read to make your day brighter and I’m always counting on Emmy Sanders for taking care of my poor heart. <3
Fabulous short romcom! Lian is a force of nature, a true sunshine. After he was dumped by his boyfriend, he is left with a prepaid cruise to Alaska…what to do? Post an ad at the Heart2heart app for a companion 🤷♀️ We meet Foster a man with a phobia of open water and sea food allergy, hhmmm what could go wrong!? This was hilarious and endearing, I wished it was a full novel 🌸 The audio is narrated by Nick J Russo - amazing job!
I rarely rate a novella 5 stars...they are usually my palate cleansers or, like in this case, I worked later than normal and wanted a story but nothing long. Lord...this was such a cute, fun romcom. I loved Lian and Foster!!! Definitely check this out if you want a good palate cleanser and some funny storyline. Emmy never misses. 🩵🩵🩵🩵
So cute! Lian was a little ball of sunshine but also a bit of a disaster and I loved how Foster was there to catch him every time. They were so sweet together. If you want a quick read that’ll leave you grinning, definitely check this out!
Catch Me Again is such a sweet, funny novella that perfectly captures the feeling of a romantic comedy.
After a painful breakup, Lian decides to go on the all-expenses-paid cruise his ex had originally booked for them. Rather than letting the trip go to waste, he posts an ad looking for a plus-one.
Little does he know that one decision is about to change everything. Enter Foster.
Ironically, the man joining him on a cruise is afraid of open water and allergic to most of the seafood being served.
Thankfully, he's not allergic to Lian 🤣
That alone should tell you exactly what kind of fun this story becomes.
Lian is an absolute ray of sunshine, hyperactive, straightforward about his feelings, endlessly charming and just enough of a dork to make every interaction entertaining. Foster is quieter but equally lovable, and watching him slowly open up throughout the trip was one of my favourite parts of the story.
As the vacation unfolds, the pair find themselves doing all the things couples normally do because many of the reservations were made for two. Those shared experiences gradually bring them closer, making their growing romance feel effortless and believable.
Beneath the humour and adorable moments, the novella also explores overcoming fears. Foster's journey toward confronting his fear of open water adds emotional depth to an otherwise lighthearted romance.
What I loved most was the idea that life's disappointments can unexpectedly become new beginnings.
Lian's breakup felt like the end of one chapter, but it quietly became the beginning of a much happier one.
This novella is warm, funny, romantic and perfect if you're looking for something quick that leaves you smiling.
The characters earned their happy ending, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
Sweet, Swoony, and Sea-Breeze Perfect 🌊 Narrated by Nick J. Russo
A cozy, romantic escape with lovable characters and just the right amount of swoon—perfect for when you need something light and uplifting 💙
____________________________ After finishing a couple of longer reads, I was in the mood for something short, light, and sweet—and this book delivered on every level.
Lian and Foster are such lovable characters. Lian (with an N 😄) is this sweet, lighthearted, unintentionally funny and slightly clumsy sunshine of a man. Even after his breakup, he still chooses to see the positive side of life, which made him so easy to adore. Foster, on the other hand, is his perfect counterpart—levelheaded, grounded, quietly sexy (hello swoonworthy dimple!) and dealing with his own vulnerability, including his aquaphobia.
Throw them together on a 14-day romantic Alaska cruise with only one bed, forced proximity, couple massages, and even tantric breathing workshops… I mean—do I really need to say more? 🤭
This was such a fun, feel-good read. I laughed, I swooned, and I genuinely enjoyed every moment of their journey together. The only thing I wished for was just a little bit more spice—but that’s honestly a minor complaint.
The narration by Nick J. Russo was fantastic. He brought both characters to life beautifully and really captured their personalities and emotional nuances.
"You're good at that." "Preventing you from sustaining injury?" "No, just... being there to catch me."
cute, silly, easy little read that's pure fluff and has basically no substance (which is perfectly fine sometimes!)
not my kind of humor, but similar to the over the top silliness in "10 ways to accidentally fall in love". i suppose the books by this author that are specifically labeled as romcoms are the ones i like the least, and i actually find the other ones funnier and more enjoyable. that said, i will continue reading absolutely anything emmy sanders ever writes! i almost read the entire anthology this was part of, just to continue my streak of reading everything she's ever published, but i'm glad this was released as a stand alone and i didn't have to.
"You're not a mess, Li. You're smart and competent and so very bright. You have a lot of life in you. A lot of passion. If anyone tells you that's a bad thing, well... I don't think they deserve any part of it."
M/M 2 week cruise vacation 🛳 Close proximity - one bed Anonymous online date Short story
After Lian gets dumped and has a 2 week cruise vacation for two booked that he can't cancel, he goes on the heart2heart app and asks who wants to join him on a free vacation. As crazy as that sounds Foster agrees to go with him despite his fear of water and seafood allergy. Lian is a bit of a basketcase but it was cute. They had amazing chemistry. This was a quick, fun, angst free story. I loved it and will definitely listen to it again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely adorable novella. Foster and Lian were just the biggest sweethearts and so cute together. I love how seriously Lian took Foster’s fear of the ocean and his seafood allergy. It was so flipping sweet how he held onto Foster every time they left the room so he wouldn’t go overboard even when it wasn’t physically possibly for that to happen. Just super adorable overall.
Idk how Emmy Sanders always manages to make me laugh and get emotional no matter how short the book is. This was literally an 80-page novella and I still felt everything.
It was so adorable.
I’m so obsessed with Lian and Foster’s dynamic and chemistry. I love them so much. I really wish they had a full-length book because I wasn’t ready to let them go yet.
Read Catch Me Again when you want a sweet MM with adorable characters and a romance that is not too angsty! It makes a good pick me upper for between angsty darker books! Onto my next Emmy Sanders book!
So cute and silly! I would've loved to have seen them back on land and meeting each other's people for the first time but that's because I always want more of characters that I love. But overall this was great with just the right amount of humor for the length and subject of the story. 😊
