Rate this book
Two strangers. A fight for survival. Their only each other.

__

Following the events in Tomorrow, Sara and Cat are trapped at an undisclosed location, fighting not only for their own lives but for each other.

Even before the world ended, Sara viewed trust as a liability. Now, in order to find Cat and break free from their captors, she must form an unlikely alliance where trust is her only hope.

Subjected to experiments more brutal than the last, Cat’s resilience is put to the test. She vows to stay strong for Sara, but as her resolve begins to fray, she might become the monster she swore she’d never be.

In this daring thriller, the will to survive is pushed to its limits—because the end of the world doesn’t mean there’s nothing left to live for.

Not sure quite how to rate this on here. I feel this one hovers between a 3 & 4 on here while not quite being either. I really hope they get a jab at Dr White in the future.

WHAT I LIKED:
I loved the parallel between Sara and Cat in the story, how their captors were only running tests on Sara, but full-on putting Cat through grueling experiments.

I loved Sara’s sarcastic attitude and how she uses comedy as a coping mechanism to deal with how powerless she feels.

I loved the minor character who was introduced in this story and I hope it’s not the last I see of her. She was so mysterious and I was curious as to why she was doing what she did.

I really love the writing style. First person is always a hit or miss with me, but I loved the way it was used for this story.

I loved the moment Sara and Cat finally reunited even if it wasn’t under the best circumstance.

I hope it’s not the last of Sara and Cat’s journey because I still have so many questions about them. Like, will Cat ever tell Sara her real name? Will she have any trauma from the experiments the scientists put her through? Will they ever have time to just be together?

I’m also so curious about two of the minor characters in this story, and I hope it’s not the last I see of them.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
There was nothing I disliked except I only wanted more. I was dreading getting to the last page because I didn’t want the story to end. I’m a bit mad at myself for reading it in one sitting.

SPICE:
One kiss scene. No spice, because who has time to get it on at a time like this?
