STORM OF RAGING SEAS is Book Two in The FALLEN REALMS Trilogy
Sara Clement is from a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada. Her career as a wedding and sports photographer allowed her the opportunity to interact with a variety of people from all walks of life and have an outlet to let her extroverted side thrive.
She can be found driving her three children to and from hockey all over the province for eight months of the year, running around her neighbourhood, and in races any time she can find a spare weekend. Sara and her husband enjoy travelling, with and without their kids, worldwide.
Becoming an author has been a lifelong dream, as she relied heavily on books for company while growing up. Her stories come from her inability to fall asleep without imagining all the fake scenarios that could result in a happily ever after.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Storm of Raging Seas was such a strong follow-up, and honestly improved on so many things I already loved in the first book.
What stood out most to me was the deeper emotional character development. This book really takes its time exploring trauma, healing, forgiveness, and the difficult process of acknowledging wrongdoing and pursuing truth. Nothing feels glossed over. The emotional moments are raw, hard-hitting, and given the space they deserve. We also get much more expansion on the world and political maneuvering, which added a lot of depth to the story.
But once again, the absolute standout of this series for me is the FMC, Solveig. It is SO refreshing to read a fantasy romance that completely flips the typical FMC/MMC dynamic on its head. Solveig is powerful, competent, sexually liberated, emotionally mature, and fully secure in who she is. She doesn’t let the men around her walk all over her or overshadow her, and I genuinely think she might be one of the best FMCs I’ve read in a long time - which is saying something considering how much fantasy romance I read.
I get really tired of fantasy romances where the FMC constantly feels naive, dependent, or perpetually on the back foot compared to the MMC, but Clement never falls into that trap. Solveig shines in every scene she’s in.
West was equally refreshing as an MMC because he breaks so many of the usual conventions too. He’s vulnerable, emotional, thoughtful, and deeply introspective rather than just brooding in the corner looking intimidating. He feels things deeply, wears his emotions openly, and genuinely questions the world he was raised in when he realises it may all be false. This book gives him so much room for growth, and honestly? The yearning in this man is ELITE. The pining, groveling, and tension throughout this book were absolutely delicious. BookTok would devour this if it ever went viral (and it really, really should🤞).
After the revelations at the end of the first book, I genuinely wondered whether West could redeem himself in my eyes, but I loved how much care the author put into unpacking his actions and forcing him to truly reflect on them. The themes of deception, indoctrination, and realising your entire worldview has been built on lies were explored thoughtfully and emotionally. His arc felt earned, painful, and very human.
Another huge highlight was the expansion of the supporting cast and world. I especially loved seeing more strong and intelligent female characters who supported each other rather than falling into unnecessary cattiness or rivalry. Gerrie, North, Easta, the queens of Asgard, and even the queen of Alfheim all brought so much personality, wit, and cunning to the story. The added POVs also really helped the pacing, which felt much stronger than the first book while still allowing plenty of room for character development.
The writing itself flows really well. The dialogue is witty and engaging, the banter is fantastic (I was genuinely cackling at points), and the emotional scenes carry real weight. Some moments were so gut-wrenching that they genuinely had me questioning why I keep reading books that emotionally destroy me like this.
And finally - the fated mates trope??? SOOO well done here. The angst, tension, longing, and emotional pull between the characters was absolutely smoldering.
So yeah… this was an emotional, character-driven sequel with fantastic relationship development, stronger pacing, and some of the most refreshing fantasy romance character dynamics I’ve read in a while. I’m very excited to see where the third book goes.
Thanks so much again to the author for the eARC! 🫶🏽
This is the second book in the continuation of the Fallen Realms trilogy and oh, did the author deliver - AGAIN!
I finished this within a few days, completely tangled up with these characters we had been introduced to in Book 1, along with some new ones. I loved how easy it was to return to this world and the author’s seamless writing style. It was fast-paced and intricately woven in Norse mythology and prophecy, secrets and betrayals, and fated mates with delectable banter that made me laugh out loud. You’re given just enough to keep you hooked before the plot shifts direction with another POV, adding a layered depth that truly works. It had me fully engaged in how the story was continuing to unfold.
The relationship between our main couple, Solveig and Westley, continued to grow and develop and, at times, this frustrated me as I wanted more to happen (and faster). By the end of this book, however, I felt this was exactly what was needed. The author really does justice to how the traumatic events our badass FMC experienced in Book 1 complicates what is evolving between them. The themes of forgiveness and how much penance one subjects themselves to with a betrayal heavily intertwines to make for some heart-wrenching character development and choices.
I also loved how Solveig and Westley worked together (creating them as equals) when they found themselves in extremely dire situations. I felt this was really refreshing and something you don’t always see with MCs in the romantasy genre.
In the final chapters, there is a devastating reveal I didn’t see coming but it brought together many threads to understand how we ended up at this point in the story. Then there was another cliffhanger to end on which I should have been expecting after Book 1! As a result, I am SO eagerly awaiting the final instalment - to know how this is all going to come together in its EPIC conclusion.
Thank you so much to the author for sharing an ARC with me. All thoughts are my own.
I had the pleasure of receiving this book as an ARC after absolutely loving book 1. Where book 1 I found focused on the initial development of the world, our FMC, and paved the ground work of the over arching plot (while adding in excellent character development, slow burn, female friendships and plot twists). Book 2 i found focused on continued character growth and development, story / world expansion and the journey (plot, character, romantic, forgiveness, etc). There are a lot more characters and aspects of the world introduced and we get to deeply understand the environment our characters are living in. This book had a great balance of humour and depth, while still maintaining plot development. Due to the nature of what happens in the plot (no spoilers) this book felt a slower pace compared to the first one, but because of the action and the stakes this slower pace does suite the journey. I appreciated that we also did get different POVs in this book as well! West is of course a swoon worthy MMC but man, Sol is just so great. Shes charismatic, stubborn, strong, and really is such an excellent depiction of what a badass FMC is. Love Love Sol. The emotional depth throughout this book was so well done and I love the way that Sara paints the picture of not just Sol but Wests healing journey. She doesn’t just quickly wrap it up, she lets it breath and have its moment and truly gives space to what happened in book 1. This book has made me VERY SUSPICIOUS of some of these other characters (you know who you are). And the ending?? Floored.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, it was a great continuation of the story and I cannot wait to see how it all ends!
WOW! I am going to need 3-5 business days to recover from this book. After the first book I did not think it could get any better but it did! What and incredible read!
'Storm of Raging Seas' effortlessly begins where the last ended, full of tension and danger. Solveig and Westley remain in the heat of their standoff as Solveig's world has just crumbled around her after the betrayal of the ones closest to her. After every persons trust has been shattered everyone starts from the beginning building trust and forming new heartfelt connections.
When it comes to books it's hard for me to be shocked but this book threw curveball after curveball at me... I was gripping my kindle so hard I thought it would break. There's only one other series that has done this to me and that is Throne of Glass. The lore was crafted to be easy to follow and incredibly intricate. Sara introduces more POVs which can always be a risk but she has managed to transition between POVs smoothly without confusion and chose the best character's for those extra POVs. I also would like to note the slow burn pace... she nailed it. Not too fast or too slow but gave us enough breadcrumbs to keep us begging for more.
This book truly has it all, magic, politics, love and betrayal... what more could you want! Trust me... go read it

I just cannot deal with this series. I absolutely adore Sol. She is a queen and a grown up. It's a small thing but I love the fact she wears chub rub shorts.
West had such incredible moments of vulnerability and watching them fall into each other and be so open was amazing. It's so rare to read books where honest communication, even in the face of withheld information, is central to the relationship. Neither are plot dumb and I am so grateful for it.
There is spice in this and it's pretty concentrated in one particular section that I won't share because I don't want to spoil. I think any more would have made it 4.5 stars for me but it was just enough to serve genre expectations without sacrificing this sensational plot. I would have read this in a single sitting but I didn't want it to end and now I have to wait six months to see how Sol and West's story ends.
200% 5 star vibes read. It was fast past, the characters were engaging, the stakes were clear and the plot shone. Cannot wait for book three.
This book is everything I wanted my second book in a series to be! I think that the second book should be better than the first, and (hopefully I'm not raising your expectations too high) I think this accomplishes that goal!
I'm obsessed with this cast of characters and I hope you fall in love with them as much as I have.
If you love an epic romantic fantasy reminiscent of Throne of Glass but with Thor vibes, you're going to love this series. Full of twists and turns, falling in love, feminine rage, revenge, fated mates, unique magic systems, and loveable side characters (I'm looking at you Conalle, Gerrie, and Helle), this series is for you. Oh and also that sweet, delicious slow burn for our main couple. I promise this book has more heat than the last one!
Even if all the reviews that come in are negative, you can't convince me this isn't the best book I've written because I just love it that much!
Happy reading and I'm sorry in advance for the emotional turmoil you're about to face.
My first thought after finishing this book was "WHY SARA!?" Another 5 star read!
There are SO many secrets in this gods forsaken story! You're always learning something new (often something jaw-dropping). It keeps you at the edge of your seat! I have not known peace since starting this book. There were a lot more POVs this time. Many important things happening at once!
I'm obsessed with the chemistry between Westley and Solveig. I love fated mates and the mind-speaking feeds my soul, honestly. Their relationship is refreshing in the sense that, Solveig is absolutely not a damsel in distress and she isn't going to lose herself to a man because she's a badass bitch! Her relationship with West strengthens her.
There's more spice in this book than the first, and not just between our two main characters *wink wink*
Also, I'm obsessed with Helle. Just adding that here because it needed to be said.
Thanks to Sara for another ARC that has left me with a book hangover! I need the next book immediately!
