Screaming!! I don’t even know where to start
This book had my heart racing from the very first chapter. The intensity of this book was high and never let up!
I really really enjoyed the world building that took place in this book! It was absolutely beautiful to read about the different kingdoms and how distinct they were from each other. Something that I really enjoyed and helped the wonderful world building was the different POVs. It allowed us to really delve deep into each different region and their customs and norms.
I really enjoyed learning about all the different side characters specifically North. She adds something very unique to book that just feels right.
Will Solvieg ever not be a badass? I think not. Solvieg continues to just be this powerful independent person who fights for those she loves and those most vulnerable.
West really works hard to make amends to be who he needs to be for Sol. I think his vulnerability is really special and allows for Sol to give herself permission to be vulnerable herself
I really loved the pacing of the story and the plot just felt like it was all piecing together. The plot twists throughout felt justified and helped to move the plot in the right direction.
Now the last 30 pages or so- WHAT WAS THAT?! What do you mean it just ends…just darkness (iykyk)! Like of course the person who scarifies themselves makes that choice of course! And of course there’s going to be revenge maybe?
Cannot recommend this series enough and cannot wait for book 3!!

Storm of Raging Seas — book two of the Fallen Realms trilogy by Canadian Indie Author Sara Clement was a solid read — and yes, the cover totally baited me. Zero regrets.
Binged Dawn of Violent Skies to catch up because the main characters’ relationship had me in a chokehold, and I loved watching it grow. The worldbuilding is creative but never confusing, and hopping to new realms to see how the magic loss hits everyone? So good.
Got a bit tangled in the mythology and a few slow spots, but still a solid 4★. Not quite book one levels for me, but I NEED book three ASAP.

❤️ World Building: The world building was a good continuation from the first book, and the new places we visited were just as well done! It is a dark and gritty world. We got to see some more use of magic as well!
❤️ The Characters: I love Westly and Solveig and their relationship really evolves in this book! The side characters take a step back in this book but are still pretty prominent, and we get to know a few new ones, and some that we know are expanded upon.
❤️ The Story: I loved it! It has a totally different feel than the first book, which is honestly ok since that first one was pretty heavy (which made it amazing!). It felt a little slower in the beginning as well, but man by the end I was totally absorbed in the story and didn’t even realize the book was ending until that (another) amazing cliffhanger.
❤️🔥Overall: So far this series has been not only unique but amazing! Sara seems to be the queen of cliffhangers!!! Now I have to try to wait patiently for the next book, Rise of Fated Suns!

Whew🤯!!! 4.5 stars !! Arc Review
We pick up right where book one’s cliffhanger left off, and I loved that! The connection between Solveig and Westley intensifies, loyalties are tested, and long-held prophecies are beginning to be revealed.
Solveig is my favourite FMC. She embodies strength and female rage while holding onto deep empathy, and I was so relieved to see that resolve carry through into book two without wavering. Both her and Westley’s POVs were equally compelling and kept me fully invested throughout.
The secrets and betrayals are layered brilliantly, some you see coming, some you absolutely don’t. It’s another wild ride that makes it nearly impossible to put down.
If you thought the connection between Solveig and Westley was undeniable in book one, book two takes things to a whole new level. The mythology expands beautifully with gods, warriors, seers, fae magic and pulls you deeper into this world with every chapter.
I’ve adored this series and cannot wait to see how everything unfolds in book three. That last 30% had me absolutely floored ……. I need answers! 🤯

Sara did it again!
The world building was 5*
The romance was 4*
The spice was 🥵 5*
There were a few moments that I felt should have been expanded on a little (but were probably cut for brevity's sake since we're already taking 629 pages here).
Anyway, I wish Goodreads would let me give half stars bc I do feel like 4.5 stars is what I would rate it.
Brief summary:
Solveig and Westley's story continues and grows. The tension and the yearning is still tension-ing and yearning. We expanded on new (to us) characters, we learned more about the characters we already met. We got spice where we absolutely did not expect it, and in a way we did not expect.
We learned about the different races of the realm, who they pray to, who they align with.
The political intrigue was high. The manipulation was high. What we thought were miscommunication plot lines turned out to be something else completely. The villains run in all circles. The GoT level assassination attempts were unexpected!
There were plot twists that I thought would be the final cliffhanger and then they were resolved earlier...this story kept me on my toes.
In short - as with book 1 - I am now left eagerly waiting for book 3 to see how these twists get untangled.

Loved getting Storm of Raging Seas as an arc to get to see more of Westley and Solveig. Their growth and banter together are a fun read.
The world building was just enough to not be overwhelming. I loved all the different realms and characters.
I loved the different POV from different characters to see what they were going through and can’t wait to see them all come together again.
The twists and betrayal kept me on the edge of my seat reading this.
But no I’m not ok and can’t wait for the third in the series. 😅🥰

Jinkies batman I feel like Im just coming up from being waterboarded. First Im so glad this picks up right as book 1 ends, I absolutely loved falling back into Solveig and Westley's story. Now for those that are going to complain about the length of this story sit down. Book 2 has so much NEEDED information, and its doesnt make the story go any slower for me the amount information given just drive me to keep reading I couldnt put this down. Sara is diabolical in the sense that she can leave you reeling from book 1 only to bring complete devistation in book 2 and you still want book 2. Not a lot Authors can do that. This broke your heart all over again for Wes and Solveig their connection ugh the slow burn is the best part for me. The back stabbing and betrayals that happened you never see coming. The side character dynamic was great. As you can see Im choosing not to give too much away, but this was a perfect book 2.

I really liked book 1. Solveig is this great warrior, badass FMC, but she’s also real. I really liked West too and the tension between the two.
So, why stop?
I feel like at almost halfway through the book, nothing has happened other then them pining and denying their feelings. They travelled to Asgard and it was event free. He’s constantly saying that she deserves better than him. Many of the scenes seemed designed to cause jealousy, but not move the plot forward. I also still didn’t quite know where the general story is going other than his grandfather wants to rule the world.

I’m honestly speechless. This book had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The romance, the heartbreak, the betrayals—and that ending! A slow burn between the two main characters that you can’t help but love them and their hilarious banter. I loved getting to know the other characters more with their POV’s. Also can Helle be my horse? She’s literally the best. I’m desperately waiting for Book 3 because I need more immediately.

Review of eARC
I had the pleasure of receiving this book as an ARC after absolutely loving book 1. Where book 1 I found focused on the initial development of the world, our FMC, and paved the ground work of the over arching plot (while adding in excellent character development, slow burn, female friendships and plot twists). Book 2 i found focused on continued character growth and development, story / world expansion and the journey (plot, character, romantic, forgiveness, etc). There are a lot more characters and aspects of the world introduced and we get to deeply understand the environment our characters are living in. This book had a great balance of humour and depth, while still maintaining plot development. Due to the nature of what happens in the plot (no spoilers) this book felt a slower pace compared to the first one, but because of the action and the stakes this slower pace does suite the journey. I appreciated that we also did get different POVs in this book as well! West is of course a swoon worthy MMC but man, Sol is just so great. Shes charismatic, stubborn, strong, and really is such an excellent depiction of what a badass FMC is. Love Love Sol. The emotional depth throughout this book was so well done and I love the way that Sara paints the picture of not just Sol but Wests healing journey. She doesn’t just quickly wrap it up, she lets it breath and have its moment and truly gives space to what happened in book 1. This book has made me VERY SUSPICIOUS of some of these other characters (you know who you are). And the ending?? Floored.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, it was a great continuation of the story and I cannot wait to see how it all ends!

The way “Dawn of Violent Skies” left me reeling for months should be studied, and I’m so glad we have this book so soon, I am forever grateful to Sara for not leaving us waiting for too long between books because 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗖 𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦!! ✨I am especially grateful for the beginning recap of book 1. OMG I wish that was a standard, even though it’s only been a couple of months it was still nice to have the very concise refresher!✨
Ok let’s get in to it! This book is an amazing sequel and a perfect bridge book between the first one and what I can only assume will be a solid ending to the trilogy. It picks up exactly where we were left off, which is good considering someone may or may not have been stabbed and we didn’t know for sure what happened at the end of book 1.
This book heavily follows Solveig and Westley as they navigate relationships and roles. It is multiple POV, and more of a character based book, very emotionally driven which I loved every second of it.
Connie served as usual, and I’m so glad Gerrie is back, along with new fun side characters.
There is a lot of relationship growths, and we learn more about the gods and what’s really going on with the magic, which BTW is the biggest twist, I honestly could not have predicted it! 🤯
When I say this book is an epic I mean it more in the literal sense not just saying it is epic; no it is “an” epic! It is a fantasy filled with in depth characters, large fictional worlds, a battle between good vs evil, an immersive magical system, and different myths and lore built in. It really checks all the boxes and very well done!
My only complaint is that it is just a trilogy lol, I want to continue reading this story for forever, and I know I will be re-reading. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆 Sara Clement you have really raised the bar and standard with these books! A true 6⭐️ read!

✨I am especially grateful for the beginning recap of book 1. OMG I wish that was a standard, even though it’s only been a couple of months it was still nice to have the very concise refresher!✨
Ok let’s get in to it! This book is an amazing sequel and a perfect bridge book between the first one and what I can only assume will be a solid ending to the trilogy. It picks up exactly where we were left off, which is good considering someone may or may not have been stabbed and we didn’t know for sure what happened at the end of book 1.
This book heavily follows Solveig and Westley as they navigate relationships and roles. It is multiple POV, and more of a character based book, very emotionally driven which I loved every second of it.
Connie served as usual, and I’m so glad Gerrie is back, along with new fun side characters.
There is a lot of relationship growths, and we learn more about the gods and what’s really going on with the magic, which BTW is the biggest twist, I honestly could not have predicted it! 🤯
When I say this book is an epic I mean it more in the literal sense not just saying it is epic; no it is “an” epic! It is a fantasy filled with in depth characters, large fictional worlds, a battle between good vs evil, an immersive magical system, and different myths and lore built in. It really checks all the boxes and very well done!
My only complaint is that it is just a trilogy lol, I want to continue reading this story for forever, and I know I will be re-reading. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆 Sara Clement you have really raised the bar and standard with these books! A true 6⭐️ read!

Every time he sees her succeed or get a bit stronger he falls a little more for her, he's her absolute biggest cheerleader. I love that he isnt threatened by her power, the complete opposite, this fierce fae warrior would be all too happy to kneel for her, if only she would let him.
Gerrie, oh Gerrie, I can't wait to find out more about what she did because she has some explaining to do. She is a legend for tying those boys up though x

Storm of Raging Seas was such a strong follow-up, and honestly improved on so many things I already loved in the first book.
What stood out most to me was the deeper emotional character development. This book really takes its time exploring trauma, healing, forgiveness, and the difficult process of acknowledging wrongdoing and pursuing truth. Nothing feels glossed over. The emotional moments are raw, hard-hitting, and given the space they deserve. We also get much more expansion on the world and political maneuvering, which added a lot of depth to the story.
But once again, the absolute standout of this series for me is the FMC, Solveig. It is SO refreshing to read a fantasy romance that completely flips the typical FMC/MMC dynamic on its head. Solveig is powerful, competent, sexually liberated, emotionally mature, and fully secure in who she is. She doesn’t let the men around her walk all over her or overshadow her, and I genuinely think she might be one of the best FMCs I’ve read in a long time - which is saying something considering how much fantasy romance I read.
I get really tired of fantasy romances where the FMC constantly feels naive, dependent, or perpetually on the back foot compared to the MMC, but Clement never falls into that trap. Solveig shines in every scene she’s in.
West was equally refreshing as an MMC because he breaks so many of the usual conventions too. He’s vulnerable, emotional, thoughtful, and deeply introspective rather than just brooding in the corner looking intimidating. He feels things deeply, wears his emotions openly, and genuinely questions the world he was raised in when he realises it may all be false. This book gives him so much room for growth, and honestly? The yearning in this man is ELITE. The pining, groveling, and tension throughout this book were absolutely delicious. BookTok would devour this if it ever went viral (and it really, really should🤞).
After the revelations at the end of the first book, I genuinely wondered whether West could redeem himself in my eyes, but I loved how much care the author put into unpacking his actions and forcing him to truly reflect on them. The themes of deception, indoctrination, and realising your entire worldview has been built on lies were explored thoughtfully and emotionally. His arc felt earned, painful, and very human.
Another huge highlight was the expansion of the supporting cast and world. I especially loved seeing more strong and intelligent female characters who supported each other rather than falling into unnecessary cattiness or rivalry. Gerrie, North, Easta, the queens of Asgard, and even the queen of Alfheim all brought so much personality, wit, and cunning to the story. The added POVs also really helped the pacing, which felt much stronger than the first book while still allowing plenty of room for character development.
The writing itself flows really well. The dialogue is witty and engaging, the banter is fantastic (I was genuinely cackling at points), and the emotional scenes carry real weight. Some moments were so gut-wrenching that they genuinely had me questioning why I keep reading books that emotionally destroy me like this.
And finally - the fated mates trope??? SOOO well done here. The angst, tension, longing, and emotional pull between the characters was absolutely smoldering.
So yeah… this was an emotional, character-driven sequel with fantastic relationship development, stronger pacing, and some of the most refreshing fantasy romance character dynamics I’ve read in a while. I’m very excited to see where the third book goes.

Solveig, our bada$$ fmc, who deserves all the good in the world, still goes through so much that I would have a breakdown over, but she puts it all together and uses that to fuel herself. It makes her strong, smart, and absolutely lethal. Put her with Westley, another bada$$ lead, and you get two who are not only meant for each other, but the two everyone must fear. They are absolutely one of my favorite book couples of all time 😍
Besides loving our main characters, I also loved how much world-building we got to see compared to the first. We knew there was an entire world we couldn’t see in book 1 and now with the stakes even higher, those doors opened so wide. I am in awe with how each kingdom and their people are described. You can see where they were affected by the dark and where the good still lies. It makes me want art for every kingdom so I can stare and dream 🤤
Now, I wholeheartedly say that this is a series you need to read, devour, and sit in disbelief with. The entire plot will have you at the edge of your seat and every cliffhanger will have you screaming. Without a doubt, this will be marked as an all time favorite.

The story never feels stalled; we get some answers while being introduced to even more questions. And my goodness that cliffhanger! This series is perfect for anyone who is a fan of high fantasy, high stakes, and Norse mythology.
The world-building was one of my favourite things in Dawn of Violent Skies, so I loved getting to not only learn more about the world but actually see more of the realms. Storm of Raging Seas is overall well-paced; I felt like we lingered in the realms we visited long enough to not get whiplash, but not so long the story started to drag. The beginning was a bit of a slower start, but by the end I was grateful for the opportunity to catch my breath!
The characters are masterfully written, and I feel like the multiple POVs (3rd person) helped us as the reader get into the minds of some characters we didn't get to know as well in book 1. And of course the romance between Solveig and Westley is just *chefs kiss*. Top tier yearning and tension and the absolutely SLOWEST of slow burns. This is true enemies to lovers; there is a little bit of fate at play but I also feel the way they each approach their romance feels so true to their characters. Solveig is such a wonderfully complex FMC, she's obviously completely badass but also vulnerable and traumatised and the way she processes that trauma feels so realistic. I love her and West together, and I will be FERAL to be back with them in book 3.

This is true enemies to lovers; there is a little bit of fate at play but I also feel the way they each approach their romance feels so true to their characters. Solveig is such a wonderfully complex FMC, she's obviously completely badass but also vulnerable and traumatised and the way she processes that trauma feels so realistic. I love her and West together, and I will be FERAL to be back with them in book 3.

I just inished this book and my flabbers are seriously gasted!
We pick up right where book one left off, and from page one this story is a relentless sprint of action, chaos, betrayals, revelations, and enough twists to give me whiplash. Every time I thought I had something figured out, this book laughed and threw another surprise at me.
Sol and Westley continue to build trust... and of course something a little more. Their banter is top tier, the complexity of their relationship is delicious, and that slow burn... Curl your toes good! Every interaction had me kicking my feet and demanding more.
And the twists. Ohhh THE TWISTS! Betrayal after betrayal, secret after secret. I couldn't read fast enough to keep up with my own thoughts.
And that North and Vali arc? I like where that's going. At least I think I do. This book has plot twisted me so aggressively that trusting anything feels like a dangerous hobby.
Am I shipping it? Maybe. Am I bracing for emotional devastation instead? Also maybe.
By the end, I was staring into the void questioning everything. Now I have to wait for the next installment?
Feels like a betrayal of its own, but ok.

I loved the first book so of course I jumped at the chance to be able to read Storm.
First the book starts off with a recap of the first book, for us plebs who don't remember the finer details. This should be done in every book.
I frothed this book. The story line was so gripping, the world building was even more incredible and I just love the character development and being introduced to more of them. Also the heat in this book was stepped up a notch.
Solveig, I just love her. She is probabaly one of my favourite FMC's, a leader overcoming some series trauma. She is just so fierce can hold her own but melts into a puddle forn West. Westley, I fell for him even more in this book, I love a man who can admit his wrong doings and the tension and yearning between him and solveig was torture. Like, my heart and loins were just aching for them. This is slow burn that rivals even Penn Cole. I am sorry but also love a growling protective fae. That was so hot.The banter in this book is my favourite, from all characters.
The twists in this book were so delicious and you know what? I saw none of them coming. I just thoroughly love this series so much. Sara's writing is incredible. I cannot wait for the next book!

I was privileged enough to receive an advanced copy of this book and WOW! What a ride.
First thing to highlight is that Sara gave us a great recap of book one before getting into book 2. So for those of us who have to wait between each book it was a wonderful addition to refresh the main players and where we left off (cliffhanger….how could we forget!!)
This book really developed not only our main pair of Sloveig and West but really gave us more insight into our side characters which I really enjoyed. We got a more in depth view of the world and what we are working towards to fight the big bad (setup for book 3).
I have to say I love the slow burn of these two, the punishment of not giving into what they both want and the banter they have had me patiently waiting for when they finally give in. It will be electric ;)
We are kept on our toes and just when we think we know who to trust or where the adventure is leading there are twists and turns right to the bitter end.

Let me just say that this did not disappoint. Sara quickly became one of my top Romantasy authors.
Be prepared book two is long and a page turner you won’t want to put it down. Plus we get more character POV. Solveig and Westley are everything.
I’ve loved Westley since day 1, and book 2 just kept restoring my love for him. Solveig is top FMC.
Book 2 brings more talk of the gods and I can’t wait for book 3.
The betrayals are still betraying lol I’m just saying trust no one not even your thoughts when reading this book. And honestly I love it, you don’t know what to expect. The slow burn, the banter between Sol and Wes is 🔥. My girl Gerrie she’s so chaotic. The queens are pure chaos. And Wes and his sisters are freaking adorable. All the characters introduced and their POV are such a breath of fresh air. Please do yourself a favor and read book 2 🩷.

I loved Dawn of Violent Skies so much and had high hopes for this one. I was NOT disappointed!
I felt all of the emotions reading this. I've always loved books that put new twists on mythology and the magic, intrigue, betrayals, prophecies, just everything in these books does the Norse myths justice.
Every new thing learned adds another layer to the world, characters, and more questions!
Westley and Solveig are just adorable together. I love being in the heads of these two vicious strong characters when they talk to and think about each other. All the yearning, conflict, and work these two do is written so well.
It was so fun to get to meet more characters that had just been mentioned in DoVS like Westley's sisters and Solveig's mothers and how they all interact.
So much emotional damage occurs throughout the book and I don't know if I will recover before the next is written!

Um wow where do I start This book is so full on!!
So many key things, secrets, hidden truths, moving parts, many players, many layers to everything. This is definitely a middle book of a trilogy. From the first page this just goes full throttle and doesn’t ease.
It’s starts right from the cliffhanger of book 1, you get more characters, more layers to the story, new places, many twists and turns that definitely aren’t too overboard, this story completely flows and is very addictive to read.
The main characters are just the most addictive to read about, their crazy banter, their strength, their fights, the slow burn wow what a slow burn and the growth was perfect. I am looking forward to more in book 3 more character development, more magic returning, some Mc passion and obviously them to win this crazy war. Although first I need to get over this book and probably reread it just to be ready, there is a lot that happens.

This book NEVER has a dull moment. It is binge worthy and will keep you captivated and on the edge of your seat the entire time. I love that we get a recap in the beginning because that’ll really help if it’s been a while since finishing the first book. This is a true slow burn and will have you wanting and hoping with every chapter. West is trying and wanting to be what Sol deserves and at times their situationship can feel like more of the storyline than the actual plot but I also felt like it was necessary. Anything less would be a doing this book a disservice in the character depth and struggles.
