What if the ache you carry isn't a wound, but a whisper?
In The Unwritten Path, Sam walks through symbolic landscapes where Fear, Obligation, Control, Comparison, and other hidden forces take on voice and form. Each encounter becomes a mirror, revealing the patterns, defences, and longings that quietly shape a life.
Written in lyrical, allegorical prose, the book moves through forests that become thresholds, towers that echo with the weight of judgement, and a stillness that waits beneath it all.
At its heart is a meeting with yourself, and a remembering of what was never lost.
A modern fable for readers of The Alchemist and Siddhartha.

Well I was pleasantly surprised by this book and the writing style!
I thoroughly enjoyed taking a walk with @kendumogu through these pages. Sadly it often takes a major life event for us to see our lives from a different perspective and I think this was captured beautifully by this book.
As we progress through each chapter and stop and truly take in what it says, it brings a comfort - an inner peace if you will. It makes sense to deal with every one of these subjects on their own and the guidance given here was calm and inviting. I loved the poems and the writing style, I felt calm after finishing this and I have so much to ponder over, I feel like I will go back and dip into certain of the chapters again.
A thoughtful little fable about all the invisible things we carry around with us! Things like fear, control, comparison, obligation and what happens when we actually stop and listen to them. Following Sam through a strange, symbolic journey, this felt less like a traditional story and more like wandering through someone’s inner world. I particularly liked the idea that the uncomfortable parts of ourselves aren’t always enemies to defeat; sometimes they’re things that need to be understood. It’s dreamy, spiritual and quite meditative, with plenty of moments that make you stop and think. Definitely one for readers who enjoy reflective fiction and stories about self-discovery.
The Unwritten Path was such a fascinating read that I found myself unable to put down but wanting to savour. I loved the fable feel and most importantly the writing. While of course fables do offer a meaning I feel that The Unwritten Path does so much more. It makes you stop, think and reflect in a way that many self-help books should do but sometimes don’t. Dumogu has created a book that honestly I know I will return to again and again and I am not exaggerating when I say I couldn’t have read this at a better point in my life. It’s so comforting to realise that negative aspects of ourself can and should be dealt with, not fought against, but rather understood and accepted. I will most definitely be recommending this to my friends and family. As always thank you to ZooLoo’s Book Tours, publishers and author for the copy to review. My reviews are always given freely and my honest opinion of the book is given.
Thank you @zooloosBT for letting me be part of this tour and revieing this book. I received a hard copy of the unwritten path. The front cover itself has lovely light colours and it really works. The blurb interest me straight away and I wanted to read this book. I like it the beginning of each chapter there is a picture. And is also quotes running through the book which really works as well. The book is 168 pages and is a fiction read. The story is about Sam that becomes a mirror for your in a life moving through different landscapes with fear obligation control and other hidden forces take on voice and form. I found this to be a really interesting and spiritual read and definitely made me pause and think about things it was written in the book. It was also nice to be something completely different to what I normally read. The story is written beautifully and is very well written. I was engaged from start to finish a brilliant read five stars
The Unwritten Path is a book to be read in quiet contemplation, savoured not rushed. I read it each day as the city awoke and the birds began their morning tribute, while I sipped on a steaming coffee.
Sometimes, I found myself lost in one of the illustrations for the longest pause. Sometimes, I read and re-read a passage to ponder its meaning and why it had resonated with me. As a cancer survivor, I appreciate these moments more than I would have before, especially holding up the metaphorical mirror which reminded me of what is truly important.
This is more than just a book; this is a meditation on the journey of Sam, as well as your inner self. If you feel rushed, lost, misunderstood or in need of a pause, I encourage you to read The Unwritten Path.
This is a reflective fiction book which has lots of different moving parts-there are some beautiful pieces of artwork dotted throughout that, much like the book as a whole, make you contemplate things in your own life.
The main body of the story follows Sam who after a sudden near death experience with covid pneumonia looks at the inner workings and deeper thoughts that make up a life and shapes a person overall.
The end of the book contains a number of poems that hopefully resonate with readers alongside the message i took from this one…
‘Life is not a problem to solve or finish line to reach’
I was kindly sent a free copy of this book as part of a book tour in exchange for an honest review. This is quite an introspective read, encouraging inner reflection and meditation on the invisible forces that shape our lives without us even realising. It’s a relatively short read but it covers a lot of material. It’s a bit of an odd read and it doesn’t really read as a story as such. I liked the idea of it but it felt a bit too abstract for me overall. 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 for Goodreads).
The Unwritten Path is a great book for those looking for a little self-reflection and maybe even self-correction in their life. If you really get into the book and open yourself up to the lessons in there, you can really see a better path forward in your life thanks to it. Got some of the same vibes as The Celestine Prophecy, but I think Unwritten Path wasn’t as subtle. And sometimes we need that
