Kannon wasn't happy with her life. She wanted to get her hands dirty with the big dogs. Well, her impulsivity got her in hot water when she tries to do a favor for her brother but gets the information wrong! Girl, how you snatching a grown ass man? 😮🤯 Learning the error of her ways she now has to find a way to get back in everyone's good graces. Especially the man she wronged!
Neptune stayed out of the way and minded his business. Being next in line to lead the Sinner's Spot was all he cared about, until he met her. Neptune acknowledged that he got caught slipping but who is this amateur? She has no idea what she is doing, and although he is pissed, he is amused by her audacity. Their meeting was unorthodox, but the attraction was immediate. I love when the man falls first and protects his woman against everyone, his family included. Although Kannon got on my nerves with all the whining, and acting out, she and Neptune paired well together.
This was a good time and definitely not what I expected. A botched kidnapping to happily ever after? Yeah…sign me up 🤣
I absolutely loved Kannon and Neptune (aka Kitty & Tune). They stayed bickering at first, but eventually settled into such a sweet love story. Coming from dysfunctional families, both of them were carrying a lot into the relationship. Kannon had spent her whole life looking out for herself and wanting acceptance from her family, so I liked seeing her slowly learn to trust that Neptune was actively choosing her. I especially appreciated that they communicated through those moments in a healthy way, and when Neptune needed to course correct, he did. His actions actually matched his words.
Neptune, who was always hardened except when it came to his brother, didn’t really know how to love. But through his relationship with his Kitty Kat, I loved seeing him learn how to love softly. He was a fierce protector and tolerated absolutely no disrespect when it came to his woman, and I was here for all of it 😭
This book also was not short on characters who had an abundance of audacity, which definitely kept things entertaining. Overall, this was a fun and engaging read that had humor, sweetness, and enough drama to keep things interesting.
This was a really cute read. Kannon and Neptune's relationship was so sweet, and I loved that it started with her kidnapping him. It was a cute little change from the usual. This really was a Romeo and Juliet situation, but I really loved that neither of them seemed to really care about their families' disapproval. Neptune saw something in Kannon, and the way he loved her and stood ten toes down behind her was sweet to see. I loved seeing her step into her own and let go of seeking her family's validation.
4.5 ⭐️. I really enjoyed the vibes of this story. It hit just right at the right time. The fmc Kannon wants to be put on with her family so to prove herself she kidnaps someone who owes a debt. The kicker is she kidnapped the wrong man and in walks Neptune. He is next up and taking over his dad’s organization. Even though he got caught slipping, there’s something about Kannon he can’t shake. This is just the beginning of their journey but it’s full of banter and unhinged behavior. Romeo/Juliet vibes. Lighthearted. I would recommend reading.
3.5 overall I like this book especially the snatching in the beginning. I do feel like the main character had issues with their families but that didn’t impact the relationship. Overall solid book
I enjoyed this story from beginning to end and was left wanting more of Kannon and Neptune. Their connection started off with a bit of animosity after a botched kidnapping attempt by Kannon in an attempt to be accepted into her family’s business but Neptune couldn’t fight his attraction to Kannon and pursued her. They both had issues with trust but were able to trust each other over time especially after they both chose each other despite negative opinions and objections from their families.
I hated the Kannon’s father treated her less than all because she was the result of an affair but she was better off without her daddy and his negativity. I was glad that Neptune chose her out load at every turn because that allowed her to feel safe enough to do the same in return.
I do wish we could have gotten the background on what really led to Neptune’s mothers’ disappearance. There were also a few other scenes that ended that left me with questions, but all in all, I enjoyed this story and would recommend it.
A yearning to be seen. A kidnapping. Black roses. And an unexpected love.
That's exactly what you'll find in the 173-page urban love story of Kannon Blackstone and Neptune Sinner.
Both motherless. Both raised by fathers with unapologetic expectations. Yet somehow, in the middle of family drama, old rivalries, and a hilariously botched kidnapping, love finds a way.
@tucoramonique does a wonderful job weaving together two families once considered enemies and turning their story into something heartfelt, funny, and unforgettable.
If you're looking for a quick read that will make you laugh, swoon, and shake your head all at once, pick up A Sinner's Prayer: An Urban Love Story. 🖤🌹📚
🤭😂 Well, when Tucora writes it, she gonna let ya know, "If he can do it, so can I." Nobody, and I do mean Nobody could tell Kannon that being a girl gave you limited abilities. She snatched Neptune up and dat man was neva da same. 🤭🤭 He loved it there. Neptune is a big dawg out there in dem streets, but he lays low and makes his moves in silence. His brother Easy melted my heart. 🧩 All in all, this was truly a great quick read. I definitely wanted more, but what was delivered did what it needed to. 💜💛💚
This was good, good! Kannon's daddy was way too much. Dude acted like she owed him for being his daughter. He should have stayed home with his wife and left her mother alone. All she wanted was his love, and he couldn't give her that.
Neptune's dad had secrets. I wished he could have found out before he died, but in Neptune's words "it's coo"". I'm glad he made up with him mom and brother. He and Easy needed her in their lives.
And even though Neptune will put you in the dirt, he is a loving husband and father as well.
So, this was the first book that I’ve read by this author since 2022. I’m definitely going to go back and look her catalogue. In this book, we were introduced to Kannon Blackstone and Neptune Sinner. The two were from families who had a long standing feud between them. After a kidnapping gone wrong, the two fell in love with each other. I absolutely loved the way they poured into each other, protected each other, loved each other and stood up to their families for each other. The book was well written, flowed well and definitely kept my attention.
What started out as a kidnapping turned into a beautiful love story gangsta style! Kannon wanted to be part of the Blackstone dynasty so bad that she thought it wise to kidnap who she thought was Levi Sinner, turns out it was his cousin Neptune! The families have been at odds for ever but when love comes in to play nothing else matters. Mr. Sinner lied to his sons, but the truth always comes out even in death! Valerie turned out to be what he needed in life, his mother! I really enjoyed this one!
No they didn't have normal relationship but it turned into love to explore Kannon & Neptune have a love that was wroth fighting for ...
I'm glad she let and stop worrying about what her dad wants especially the way he treated her you mad at her but you slept with her mom so make it make sense...
Neptune didn't play about his woman Kinda figured dad was not always telling the truth
Neptune and Kannon's story did not start well... at all. First of all, she kidnapped him. Unfortunately, she kidnapped the wrong Sinner. Then she found out that there was bad blood between the Blackstones and the Sinners dating back before she was born. Cherry on the top, despite everything, there was undeniable chemistry between Neptune and Kannon that they were unwilling to ignore even for family loyalty.
Wow this was a good read ! Kitty wanted so bad to be included in the family business that she decided to kidnap someone who owed her brother money … only to find out she kindnapped the wrong guy and he was the son of her fathers enemy lol 😆
Well her messed up mission turned out to be what led her life to all the things she prayed for ! I love how vulnerable Neptune was when it came to her no matter who he was up against.
A great read, Neptune and Cannon both suffered losses of their mother's, tough differently! Cannon & Neptune relationship wasn't conventional, but I love how they supported one another! The family dynamics were different but alike in terms of how neither wanted Neptune and Cannon to be together! I loved the epilogue!
Initially I thought I’d DNF this book but have it a chance. The opening going straight into action threw me a little bit him sending her black roses and threatening death or sex intrigues me. There were a few areas I wish had more of a backstory such as the Sinner Father, Valorie, Kannon but overall it was an easy read.
Tucora Monique what a good read. I love how Neptune changed his whole world. Kannon grew up with Neptune in her world . The way Kannon felt about her family was warranted. I enjoyed watching them overcome all things that were meant to stop them. In the end the new found love from a place they never thought came just when they needed it. I can't wait to read what's next for you🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I absolutely love Tune and his Kitty! The way their story started out as a mess up on Kitty’s side and blossomed into a love story was everything! I won’t divulge to much so get this book and fall into Tune and Kitty’s love story❣️🤎❣️This is my first time reading a book by Tucora Monique and it won’t be the last!
Neptune and Kannon were cute, the story was decent but there were things missing. Why would Levi borrow money from the enemy and what happened to his debt?? What was beef truly about between the dads? What was Uncle Lester’s issue? This is an insta love/ kidnapping trope story so the relationship was fast but cute.
The banter between kitty and Neptune was hilarious from the kidnapping until the wedding. I love the fact that Nep ain’t play about his kitty kat at all especially when it came down to her family and his. He didn’t give a damn. I throughly enjoyed this book.
This was the first time reading this author, Tucora Monique, and the Sinner’s Prayer was fabulous . I loved the characters. I loved the drama and most of all it was standalone book. Sometimes I just want to read a book I don’t have to wait for part 2 or 3 to find out what happens. All in all, the best and I recommend this book.
A kidnapping gone wrong? Count me in. Lol! Kannon was trying to prove a point to her family but it goes sideways. Neptune stood on business when it came to Kannon. I really wanted Kannon to throat punch her daddy. All in all it was a good read🙂
Omg!!! I loved this read so much! I thought Neptune’s situation was going to be Kannon’s, honestly. I feel like he should’ve gotten rid of his uncle and cousin. If you decided to give the twins a book, I’m sure it’ll happen further down the line…
Ms Monique, great job.. When I started I said naw I’m not gone like this . But I’m glad I didn’t stop honey. This book had a lot of true life stuff in it. And the way Kannon and Neptune healed and loved on each other I could cry. But the funky ass daddy’s was a mess
I love that Kitty kidnapped Kannon and that he wanted to fuck her when she took her mask off 🥰 Neptune needed a love that was unconditional and safe and Kannon gave her that and protected her with his whole heart
I loved how Kannon’s crazy matched Neptune’s and that’s what drew them together. They didn’t care nothing about what their families thought. They got the ending they deserved.
Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed this book. Loved how the author handled the MMC and the FMC's health conditions. This was a tasteful urban romance. Kudos to the author👏🏾👏🏾This story has alot of secrets and some family dysfunction😉😉
