Every Single Second is a small town, single mom, second chance romance.

It only took one summer for Parker Stillwater to steal my heart. Then like the cocky cowboy he was, he never gave it back.Even when he left me in the dust, licking my wounds as I watched him live out our dream from afar. The one where I wasn't just the small town girl who polietely smiled and never made a fuss. The one where he wasn't just some useless kid who wanted to be a champion. What we had was real. Until he ruined it. But now, the infamous bull rider is back in Mayson Ridge, still handsome as ever, adn wearing a tempting smile that still makes my heart skip a beat. But when I find out that he's back after an injury, and I'm the one in charge of his rehab, my guard is stronger than ever. I'm not the same girl he fooled years ago. He may be the only man I've ever loved, but I still had my pride. And the last thing I was giving Parker Stillwater was another chance to break me. But the more time we're forced to spend together, adn the more he reveals about the truth of the day he left, the harder it becomes to push him away. He's here for more than just a second chance. But just when we think we can begin to create a new future, life throws us another curveball. When the past comes knocking, I'm terrified that one of our hearts, if not both, will have to break again.

Every Single Second is book three in the Every Single Series. It can be read as a standalone. No cheating, and a guaranteed HEA,

4🌟, 3🌶️

I was really looking forward to Parker and Laiken’s story, and it definitely delivered.

Their second chance romance had plenty of heart, and I loved the history between them. You could feel the love, regret, and unresolved feelings in every interaction, and Trace easily became one of my favorite parts of the book.

I really appreciated that the story focused on healing, forgiveness, and earning back trust instead of relying on unnecessary drama. Parker had to prove himself, and watching him slowly show up for Laiken and Trace made it easy to root for him. There were also a couple of twists that genuinely surprised me and kept me invested until the end.

While a few emotional moments felt like they could have been explored a little more, I still had a great time with this one. It was heartfelt, hopeful, and full of sweet moments that left me smiling.

If you enjoy second chance romances with lovable characters and plenty of emotion, this is definitely worth picking up.

Huge thank you to S.J. Chaynie and The Author Agency for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Stars)

I honestly think this might be my favourite book in the series so far. ❤️

Parker and Laiken's second-chance romance had me hooked from the very first chapter. Their history together was full of heartbreak, regret, and missed opportunities, but watching Parker fight to earn back Laiken's trust made every page worth it. He didn't just tell her he'd changed—he proved it through his actions, and I loved that.

Trace completely stole the show for me. He is such a funny, lovable little character, and every scene with him had me smiling (or laughing out loud!). The way Parker naturally stepped into his life was incredibly heartwarming and showed the kind of man he truly is.

I also loved that this story focused on healing, forgiveness, and rebuilding trust rather than unnecessary drama. The ranch family once again brought so much warmth to the story, and there were a couple of twists I genuinely didn't see coming that kept me turning the pages.

S.J. Chaynie has a way of writing emotional, heartfelt romances that leave you feeling completely satisfied by the end, and this book was no exception. It's full of love, hope, found family, and the reminder that sometimes the right person is worth fighting for.

If you love: 🤠 Cowboy romance
💜 Second chance romance
👩‍👦 Single mum romance

👨‍👩‍👦 Found family
💕 He falls first (and never stops)
🌶️ Sweet romance with emotion

...then you need to pick up Every Single Second. I already can't wait for Ryder's story! 🤍

The last person Laiken wants to be around is the man who broke her heart years ago. But she needs the money Parker's offering to be his exclusive PT. After all, she's a single mom with a house that needs fixing up. If she can just go in, do her job, and avoid Parker's charm until he inevitably leaves again, then she'll be fine...

Laiken and Parker were put through it in their second chance journey. There was a lot to be resolved between them, pain to be healed, and revelations to be dealt with. But as they soon discovered, the feelings they had when they were younger had only grown over the years, so they were inevitable. I like the way they finally forgave each other, the way their connection had strengthened, and I love the way Trace made everything sweeter with his adorable self.

🤠❤️ Seven Years Apart, One More Chance ❤️🤠
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 🌶️🌶️

There is something about a second-chance romance filled with years of history, heartbreak, and unresolved feelings that gets me every time, and Parker and Laiken’s story had so much heart. ❤️

Parker Stillwater and Laiken fell in love during the summers he spent at Mayson Ranch, dreaming about a future together while he chased his goal of becoming a champion bull rider. Then Parker left, and Laiken was left watching from afar as he seemingly lived out the dreams they once shared without her. Seven years later, an injury brings Parker back to the place that has always felt like home, and Laiken just happens to be the physical therapist responsible for his rehabilitation. Talk about some uncomfortable forced proximity! 😬

I really loved that Parker couldn’t simply walk back into Laiken’s life, explain himself, and expect everything to be forgiven. She had built an entirely different life while he was gone, including becoming a mom to the absolutely hilarious Trace. Parker had to earn her trust again, and watching him consistently show up for both Laiken and Trace was one of my favorite parts of their second chance. His actions slowly began to prove that he wasn’t there temporarily. He wanted the future with Laiken that they should have had all those years ago.

And TRACE! 😂 This little cowboy was easily one of my favorite parts of the entire book. Between thinking he could get away with cussing around the ranch guys as long as his mom didn’t know and worrying they would take away his “man card” because he got sick, he had me laughing so many times. I especially loved watching the relationship between Parker and Trace develop so naturally. Those moments brought an entirely different kind of tenderness to Parker’s character.

The history between Parker and Laiken made their chemistry and emotions feel even stronger because the love was clearly still there underneath all that hurt. I appreciated that their journey focused so much on forgiveness, healing, communication, and rebuilding trust rather than throwing unnecessary drama between them. There were also a couple of twists that caught me completely off guard and had me flying through the pages to see how everything would play out.

There were a few emotional moments where I wanted the story to dig just a little deeper and give those feelings more room to breathe, which is ultimately what kept this at four stars for me. But I still really enjoyed Parker and Laiken’s journey and loved being back with the ranch family.

Every Single Second is heartfelt, hopeful, funny, and full of that messy history that makes a second chance feel worth fighting for. Parker had a lot to prove when he came home, and watching him finally fight for Laiken, Trace, and the life he truly wanted made for such a satisfying romance. 🤠❤️

Thank you so much to S.J. Chaynie and The Author Agency for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Parker Stillwater and Laiken had a secret romance when Parker would come to visit the ranch each summer. Everything changed when Parker left to chase his dream of becoming a champion bull rider, leaving Laiken with a broken heart. After making one poor decision one night, Laiken gains her biggest blessing her son, Trace.
When Parker is injured after a bull riding incident he comes back to the one place that has always felt like home and makes it so Laiken is his personal Physical therapist. Laiken is determined not to let him back into her heart. Parker, on the other hand, is determined to prove that Laiken has always been the only woman he has ever loved and the only one he ever will.
Trace absolutely stole my heart. He is such a little firecracker who wants nothing more than to be just like Parker and the other cowboys on the ranch. I was laughing so hard when he thought he was sneaky because the guys let him get away with cussing when on the ranch and away from his momma. Then there was the whole “don't tell them I got sick or they'll take away my man card" moment that had me cracking up.
I loved watching Parker work to earn Laiken's trust again. Their chemistry never disappeared, but seeing him prove through his actions that he was all in made their second chance even sweeter. The ranch family was there every step of the way, reminding me why I love this series so much.
This story had me flying through the pages because I just had to know what was going to happen next. Every time I thought I had it figured out, S.J. Chaynie threw in another twist that I never saw coming.
I have loved every book in this series, and Every Single Second is another great story. These cowboys have completely stolen my heart, and now I am counting down the days until Ryder gets his story.

Years ago, Laiken thought she had found her forever in the bull rider who spent all his summers at Mayson Ranch, but one year he didn’t come home, and she was blindsided when she saw a picture of him with his new girlfriend. Seeing him live out every dream they made with someone else was almost worse than the heartbreak of losing him, but her pain led to her having her son, and she would never regret that. Now she’s a physical therapist being told that her newest client is none other than the man who left her behind, and he’s made it clear that he’s here for more than just rehab.

Parker has spent the past 7 years in a hell of his own making, constantly dreaming of the day he could come back to Laiken, but the woman he finds is not the one he left behind. She makes it clear from their first interaction that not only does she not want him here, but she doesn’t trust him either, and his actions broke them irrevocably. He is determined to make her understand what really happened all those years ago, and prove to her that she and her son are the only things he cares about now.

I received an early copy of this book from @theauthor.agency and really loved it. I had been looking forward to Laiken and Parker’s story after reading the first two, and the author did not disappoint. As with many books like this, their problems could have been solved with better communication, but at the same time, they were so young and I can understand how fear won and heartache won out. Knowing what Laiken went through after Parker ghosted her is so heartbreaking, but it brought her Trace, and seeing as he’s one of my favourite characters in the series, he will never be a bad thing. I loved watching them let each other in again, and how Parker kept showing up in small ways, never expecting anything in return. The way he embraces Trace as his own is bittersweet, as it’s a picture of what they always should have been, but the family they make together is everything.

If your idea of romance heaven is a heartfelt second-chance love story featuring a devoted single mum, an irresistibly swoon-worthy bull rider, and all the emotional feels, then Every Single Second, book three in S.J. Chaynie's Every Single series, is one you won't want to miss.

After a devastating bull-riding accident, Parker returns to the one place that has always owned his heart—the small town where he spent every summer and the woman he never stopped loving. Seven years earlier, he left town chasing his dream of being a champion bull rider, walking away from Laiken and the future they had dreamed of together. Although he went on to live his dream, leaving Laiken behind became the biggest regret of his life, and for seven years he has carried the weight of that decision.

Laiken has rebuilt her life and is now devoted to raising her adorable little boy Trace. Letting Parker back into her world? Absolutely not. He shattered her heart once, and she's determined not to give him the chance to do it again. But Parker knows exactly what he's lost, and the only future he wants is one with Laiken and her son. The question is, can she ever forgive him? And when long-buried secrets finally come to light, will they find the happily ever after they've both secretly been longing for?

What I loved most about this story was that it isn't filled with unnecessary break-ups or frustrating misunderstandings. Instead, S.J. Chaynie gives readers a beautifully emotional story about healing, forgiveness, redemption, and finding the courage to fight for the love that was always meant to be. Parker and Laiken's journey feels authentic, and watching them slowly rebuild the trust that was broken made every page impossible to put down.

S.J. Chaynie delivers all the heart, hope, and romance readers crave, wrapping it all up with a deeply satisfying, swoon-worthy happily ever after. If you love emotional second-chance romances, single-mum heroines, protective heroes determined to make things right, and stories that prove love is worth a second chance, Every Single Second is one you'll be thinking about long after you've turned the final page.

Ok S.J. Chaynie gave me a new cowboy book boyfriend! This man had me swooning with his words and I just loved the depth of love he had for Laiken! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't swipe my kindle pages fast enough. This book had me swooning, smiling, laughing, made me mad, broke my heart but then put it back together with a wonderful ending!

Parker stole Laiken's heart when they were teenagers but like all things something comes up between them and then they don't see each other for years. Now he's back because of an injury he inquired while bull riding. Now he wants Laiken's help since she's a physical therapist. He has a lot of making up to do and he hopes he can do that while spending time together.

Laiken is not happy when she finds out her new patient is Parker. He's the last person she wants to have to spend time with after he broke her heart but the money is good so of course she needs it being a single mom. As these two start spending more time together they might find out there is still something between them.

This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride in some parts and there will be some moments you will definitely get angry because of her kids father. But this book has so much heart and love that you will just melt into this story. I highly recommend this book and look forward to seeing what S.J. Chaynie has in store for us next.

Thank you S.J. Chaynie and The Author Agency for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

4/5...This was a heartfelt second-chance romance that had me invested from the very beginning. Parker and the heroine shared so much history, and the lingering hurt, unresolved feelings, and undeniable chemistry between them made every interaction feel meaningful. I really enjoyed the small-town setting and how it added warmth and familiarity to the story, making it easy to get lost in their world. One of my favorite aspects was watching the truth about their past slowly come to light. It added emotional depth and helped me understand both characters' perspectives instead of making either one feel completely right or wrong. Their journey toward forgiveness and healing felt genuine, and seeing them learn to trust each other again was satisfying. Parker was easy to root for despite his mistakes, and I appreciated that he had to earn his way back rather than everything being forgiven immediately. The heroine was strong, independent, and unwilling to settle for less than she deserved, which made their relationship feel balanced. Their banter, emotional conversations, and romantic moments all worked well together. The story did have a few predictable moments, and there were times when I wanted certain emotional scenes to be explored a little more deeply. Some conflicts wrapped up a bit quicker than I expected, but they didn't take away from my overall enjoyment.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Every Single Second is the first book I've read by S.J. Chaynie, and I was pulled in from the very start!

Seven years after Parker left Laiken to chase his dreams of being a pro bull rider and broke her heart, he's back in town to recover after a devastating injury. With Laiken as his physical therapist. Laiken rebuilt her life out of the ashes of her heartbreak and is dedicated to raising her son, Trace. She has no interest in welcoming Parker back into her life, but he is determined to fix the biggest mistake of his life.

The reunion between these two characters is a rollercoaster of emotions, and even after Laiken reluctantly agrees to let Parker back into her life, long-buried secrets threaten to tear them apart once again. Laiken and Parker had been young when they first dated, and their immaturity led to miscommunication between them. I enjoyed watching Laiken and Parker navigate the new chapter they were trying to create, and Parker was earnest in his pursuit to make things up to her by proving himself in little ways.

Every Single Second hit all the right notes for a swoony, emotional, second-chance romance! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

I’ve been so excited for Laiken and Parker’s story! I don’t know why, but I really enjoyed in the first two books anytime Parker was around her or he was brought up in conversation you could feel how much she hated him. And that carries over to their own book and it was just so fun because she truly hated him and he was so down bad for her. Some things happened to them in the past that were revealed and there’s lots of twists and turns.

There’s spice there’s really cute moments with Laiken’s son Trace. And they’re suspense and twist and turns in the story that I truly did not see coming. I was not expecting any of that to happen in this book. But it was so great I loved it.

I’m so happy I found this series and I’m dying to find out who it was that runs into Ryder at the very end. I really don’t think his is going to be a second chance romance with Hadley. I’m kind of hoping it’s Ivy‘s best friend/boss from when she was living in Georgia. Because we got some information about her and her bf at the time when Ivy spoke about this character and I’m like why would we need that information if we’re not gonna get more to her story. So that’s my guess… 🤞🏼

Omg Laiken and Parker! They are officially my new favorite couple of the series!

Parker comes back home to help heal his injuries and Laiken is the one to help him through. They have a past. One where both of them have regrets and painful memories that they’re both not over. Secrets from the past come to light and they wonder where they go from here.

Omg my heart broke for the both of them. They had so much history. Things were hidden from each other. Both living their lives only for both of them to be hurting.

Parker based his decisions around his mistakes and losing the woman he loves. He made up for it when he came back home. Laiken is a single mother trying to make it work and seeing Parker again was not in the cards. However seeing her forgive Parker and learning the truth was so emotional!

The whole plot and storyline for this book was so good. I didn’t imagine it for their story but it was so good. This book is just as great as the first 2!! My favorite couple of the series!

I was fortunate to receive an eARC to read in exchange for my honest review, so here it is:

This story has heart, a sprinkle of suspense, healing and second chance love.

While it's been years since Parker first up and left Laiken, the love of his life, she's always on his mind. Then a fateful accident brings him back to their small town and Laiken ...for good!

Laiken is not thrilled of course, she's been scorned in the past and she refuses to let that happen again. I loved her quick and fiery banter with Parker and understood why she wanted to keep him at arms length.

These two had such a magnetic push and pull throughout the story. There was much that had been left unsaid and healing that needed to happen so it was incredibly satisfying to see them sort through everything that happened in order to truly move forward together!

Their love for each other and the family they became was heartwarming!

🐂🦾💔✨🧢🐎🥞👦🏠👨‍🔧🛋️🚗🏖️✉️👪Parker, a daring bull rider who needs a physical therapist after his injury, and the only one he trusts to do it is Laiken—his first and only true love, whom he is trying to win back. But, it isn't that simple because Laiken is now a single mom of a boy and she doesn't trust Parker because he broke her heart in the past. Yet Parker persuades her to hear his side of the story—of what really happened in their breakup that tore them apart seven years ago.At first Laiken didn't want to remember the past but she does and they give there love a second chance. To make things even more beautiful is that Parker is an incredible person to Laiken’s son, Trace, that make Laiken’love him more.

Trigger warning: mentioning the death of a parent, a parent with a terminal illness, situations of domestic violence, and sexual assault (off page).

Thank you to S.J. Chaynie and The Author Agency for the opportunity to ARC read once again.

This is my favorite so far.

Parker and Laiken are perfect for one another. Their love story is my favorite for all they went through to get to their HEA.

Trace is the best cowboy on the ranch. He is the sweetest boy to his mama and loves with his whole heart.

The plot was heartbreaking and so worth it in the end.

Fingers crossed that Ryder gets his HEA next. I don’t think I will ever think about rattlesnakes and not think of this book.

This is one of my top 5 small town romance series to date.

S.J. Has written some amazing books with several different tropes at the top of my list. I have read all her books and recommend her all my bookish friends..

Every Single Second by S.J. Chaynie is an emotional, beautifully written romance that perfectly balances heartbreak, hope, and healing. From the very first chapter, the story pulled me in with the heartfelt emotion and undeniable chemistry between the main characters. Their journey was filled with tension, vulnerability, and the kind of slow-building connection that kept me reading late into the night. I really enjoyed how Chaynie didn't rely on unnecessary drama; instead, she allowed the relationship to develop naturally, making every emotional moment feel earned. Overall, Every Single Second was a touching reminder that love isn't measured by grand gestures alone, but by the countless small moments that truly matter every single second.

Thank you to The Author Agency and the author, S. J. Chaynie for an ARC of this. This is part of an interconnected series, but I think you can still enjoy it without having read the previous books. I haven’t read them and I still really enjoyed this book and it actually made me want to read the other books in the series. I love small town romances with a little western/cowboy vibes, sign me up! This is also a Second Chance romance, and in my opinion, I think it was a deserved second chance. Both main characters had to grow a bit before they were actually mature enough to be with one another. I also liked how it was a bit of force proximity them being with one another. Then it’s kind of brought up old feelings and they started to rekindle those feelings but at the same time start something new.

Every Single Second by C.J Chey
Every Single series book 3

This is a romance that depicts what true love and soul mates truly are. I freaking adore these 2 with my whole heart.
Parker and Laiken were more than just childhood sweethearts he saved her from her excruciating circumstances. Their hearts were just meshed as one from the very beginning. They had big dreams together. They wanted a life together. And then he just is gone. And years of ultimate heart break happened.
When Parker gets hurt bull riding he ends up it as Laikens patient. And the way this man still loves Laiken and her son is just so incredibly sweet. When all the secrets come out after years of hiding them it changes things. Some for the better but also scary heartbreaking ones as well! This was such a fantastic enthralling read. I’m looooving thi series 🥰

This was a great easy quick read with a good storyline! The book is based on Laiken and Parker who dated when Parker was in town for his summer holidays. But they were torn apart and continued their lives without each other. Parker comes home after a serious injury and requires a occupational therapist to help him heal. Laiken is appointed to be Parker's therapist and that is when the storyline really steps up.
Parker has always loved Laiken and makes it his mission to make Laiken's his. However, Laiken has a very nasty ex boyfriend who is also her little boy's father. He causes trouble for both Parker and Laiken.
If you have any domestic violence triggers, this book may not be for you. I haven't read the other two books in the series but I could understand the character dynamics. A great read that you will need to read to see what happens!!

I really enjoyed Parker and Laiken’s story! I love a man obsessed who returns to town to win back the woman he loves and shows up for her every step of the way.

This is my first book by this author, and it won’t be my last! I will say, while I did read this as a standalone, I do think it would be better to read the stories prior to this book. While I waan’t lost I felt I would have understood the town, and side characters so much better had I read the books prior to this.

But with all that said I would recommend this book! I am obsessed with Parker and how down bad this man is for Laiken! The way everyone was there for her and protected and looked out for her was everything!

If you are looking for a:

Romance this is for you!

Parker and Laiken are a second chance romance that also has an added element of suspense. Parker is sidelined from bull riding and is back in town for PT and the only person he wants doing PT is his first love, Laiken. She hasn’t forgiven him since he left but this may be his chance to try to win her back. You can sense the love that still exists between them despite the years and life that have gone by. They work through their issues and also have the help of family and friends to support them. However when the father of Laiken’s son starts causing trouble it opens a lot of old wounds and even some new discoveries. Parker and Laiken are a sweet match with plenty of love, but will it be enough to overcome the years lost?

Laiken and Parker’s second chance romance had me hooked from the start. Young love, years apart and all the baggage life threw at them made finally watching them find their way back to each other so worth it. And the plot twist had me absolutely stunned!😳 I won’t give anything away, you just need to read it ASAP😉🤭
Aside from all that drama, One of my favorite parts was getting to catch up with some of our favorites from the first two books. I love when a series keeps feeling like coming home🥹
If you love emotional second chance cowboy romances with plenty of heart (and a twist that’ll leave you staring at the page) then this one’s a must read!🤩🤠

This was a heartfelt second chance romance which held my attention right from the very beginning.

There is such a force pulling Parker and Laiken together throughout the story. There was so much unsaid when they initially split up, causing Parker to have to come clean with everything that kept them apart. It was great to see them sort thru all the hurt and emotions and find their way back to one another.

Laiken’s son Trace stole my heart with his cowboy sayings and wanting to be a cowboy so bad—-I can totally picture the little guy and the character that he is.

This was a good quick read filled with romance, some spice and a bit of suspense as well. Didn’t figure the ending of Rhodes would come about as it did. Loved the book and would continue reading the series

This book was amazing. Laiken is a strong independent hard working mom who will do anything for her son Trace. I love that even though she has what seems like twists and turns left and right she puts her head down and pushes through. She has so much grit and determination and the sass! Her story had a major twist and it broke my heart but she just rolled with it. Parker was dealt a crap hand too and though it came between them he would stop at nothing when he could to show her he never stopped loving her. This was a steamy second chance romance that melted my heart and took me back to Mayson Ridge with some of my favorite people. I cannot wait for the next book.

ARC Review

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Parker comes home broken, and Laiken is the one person who can help him heal… if their past doesn’t break them all over again. 💔 Their history is messy, painful, and full of secrets — but every reveal hit straight in the heart. Parker’s regret, Laiken’s strength as a single mum, and the slow road back to trust made this such an emotional read. 🥹✨

Every Single Second is a beautifully written second-chance romance about heartbreak, forgiveness, healing, and the tiny moments that make love worth fighting for. I was fully hooked from the start and absolutely loved the chemistry, vulnerability, and small-town feels. 📖🤍 Emotional, tender, and so worth the read! 🌟

A sweet “it’s always been you” romance that will tug on the heartstrings. Laiken and Parker get a second chance when he comes back home for rehab and has made arrangements for Laiken to be his physical therapist.

Parker has loved Laiken every day since he left and there hasn’t been another person for him. He is determined to earn her trust and prove that her and her son are his future. And the way he is with Trace, be still my heart!

Laiken is a single mom to the cutest little cowboy. I loved how she gave Parker a run for his money and didn’t make it easy. When they finally talk about the last, everything shifted and I loved that they started moving forward.

Laiken is a single mom and PT. Parker is the bull rider who broke her heart. When they are reunited, will Parker right his wrongs?

I thought it was good! It is on the shorter side and the action in the story kept it moving. There were a lot of side characters and I felt very lost on who they were at the beginning. I think reading the series in order would help with that situation.

The spice was minimal. There are just a few moments, but most is fade to black. I liked the flashbacks so we got to hear how they met and the moments they had together in the past.

Overall, cute second chance romance.
