Who could possibly save an entire solar system?
Naturally, the task falls to Veyla, a newly-awakened clone of an extinct Primordial species. If she fails, AION, a holographic AI owl with a flawed mission to preserve planetary balance, will succeed in her latest wiping out every magick user with her army of nightmare-fuel bots.
On top of that, there are interplanetary tensions and cute girls with questionable agendas to contend with. Typical teenage problems.
No pressure, right? At least she has an unreasonable amount of optimism to work with!
Armed with ancient magick (that she’s still kind of winging) and cutting-edge tech (mostly under control, give or take a few explosions) Veyla and her friends might just be the only ones capable of uniting people, planets, and the slightly-unhinged AI who was supposed to protect them in the first place. And if enthusiasm, stubborn hope, and the occasional wildly-improvised plan can save a system, then they’ve got a real shot.
The only question can they do it all in time?

It's like... Winx Club meets Barbie Starlight Adventure, but with queer rep!
This book boasts many excellent analogies and creative descriptions! I found myself smirking constantly at the characters personalities and inner dialogues.
The way it's written is very animated in nature, with expressive emotions and gestures. I appreciate the queer and disability representation.
Place and character names are very cool! I am truly a sucker for alliterations.
INCREDIBLE world building! So great at outlining all the specifics and leaving my "What about..." questions answered. I had no problem understanding the backgrounds and motives of characters, or their experiences, despite how intricate and vast the setting is. Lots of original and diverse concepts and characters. I love the barter system as well.
The ART! We love a book with art, and this is some of the most gorgeous and detailed art I've ever seen! My favourite part, to be sure. I am in love with every illustration, and I was originally drawn to read this story because of the authors art posts online. That's the coolest part too; the author shares the process!
Ori and Nim are my favourite side characters, Nim might even be my favourite character of all.
Very talented art, very imaginative writing. An absolutely legendary author and creator!

This book has it all. Academia, sci, fantasy, grumpyXsunshine, giant robot battles, adorable animal sidekicks, magical girl goodness, and some absolutely beautiful poetry. I laughed, I cried, I never wanted it to end. V is the sweetest bean in all of existence and it feels so good to root for her. This book will give you hope, I swear to you. I loved this book more than I can say. And also, the artwork?! I found myself devouring it half just so I could get to the next piece of art. I can't wait til this comes out so I can get a copy for my neice. She'll LOVE this. God I can't wait for part two!
