Review for 'The Hot Honey Hideaway' by Harper Graham

This is a fantastically written book that has vivid descriptions which will make you feel like you have escaped on a beautiful break, breathing the the scent of coffee and falling in love with everything around you!! It takes you on a journey to Maple Falls and I was devastated when I had to pack my case to come back home and leave Maple Falls behind 😭 The title, synopsis and cover suit the storyline perfectly.

This is the third book I have read by this absolutely incredible author! I have also read 'The Spiced Cocoa Café' which is the second book in this gorgeous series and  'The Cherry Crush Flower Shop' (book 3).  I would also highly recommend them both to anyone and everyone looking for a tasty page turner!! I absolutely Love, LOVE, LOVED this absolutely STUNNING AND LUSHIOUS page turner!! It was just absolutely beautiful and I was hooked from the very first page to the last!! An absolute must read!!! This book is also the fourth book in Harper's STUNNING 'Maple Falls' series but can be read as a standalone as can the rest of the books in this series.

AN AMAZING, SPICY, TASTY AND STUNNING ESCAPISM THAT WILL WHISK YOU AWAY TO THE DREAMY MAPLE FALLS!!

ALL BOOKS IN THIS BEAUTIFUL SERIES ARE FREE WITH KINDLE UNLIMITED! WHY ARE YOU STILL WASTING YOUR TIME HERE INSTEAD OF READING THESE PAGE TURNERS!! GO, GO, GO!

This book has absolutely GORGEOUS and evocative descriptions that set you straight in the scenes. I am ABSOLUTELY devastated to come to the end of this book and leave Maple Falls behind. I really cannot wait to get stuck in to all of Harper's previous and future books!! They are just guaranteed to be stunning even if they are only half as gorgeous as this beauty!! I absolutely adored the gorgeous heart-warming and feel good storyline. As you may, possibly, have been able to work out I absolutely adored this captivating, stunning and delicious page turner from the very moment I even looked at the front cover to the very last word and beyond. As soon as I started reading it genuinely felt like I was returning to a favourite place, feeling like I was wrapping my favourite blanket around me with my favourite drink. the characters, settings and just everything and returning to meet favourite friends again! Now THAT , lady and gentleman truly is a sign of an amazing author, when they can make you feel like you are meeting old friends each and every single time you grab one of their books!!  What an absolutely feel good, heart warming, turn a frown upside down escapism! I fell in love with Harper's writing skills and I am so pleased that I can go back and read the first book in this series along with the rest of her books. I would not normally recommend reading books in a series out of order but if you have jumped straight into this one, and nobody would blame you with it's stunning cover, synopsis and title, then fear not!! There is a silver lining and that is that you can immediately jump into the first three beautiful books while you are waiting for the next book! Speaking of which, the next book in the series is available to pre-order now so run do not walk!! It is called 'The Pumpkin Pie Book Nook' and it will be published on the 18th August! It promises to be just as tasty as this charming stunner! This gorgeous storyline is authentic and realistic as well as easy to read and heart-warming. It is just one of those absolutely beautiful books that promises that the reader gets completely lost in the pages for hours. I am so glad that I discovered this extremely talented author after reading 'The Spiced Cocoa Café' and really cannot wait to get stuck in to the rest of her books that I have yet to read. If they are only half as addictive and heart warming as the 3 gorgeous books I have read in this series they are guaranteed to be completely compelling and addictive!! Harper really does transport her readers from their reading spots to Maple Falls where they will see the café, characters, surroundings and loads more come alive!  Her stunning evocative and emotive writing skills will sweep you away to Maple Falls where you will be able to taste the stunning coffee as you fall in love with the settings and the characters. I really did absolutely fell in love with everything about this beautiful book. It is a gorgeous story ram packed with romance, new beginnings, scrummy treats, family, spice, beautiful settings, community, kindness, drama, friendship, laughter and absolutely everything you could ask for and so much more!! It really does tick every single box in everything you could want in a beautiful escapism. It will have you feeling like you are on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Harper's beautiful, vivid fantastic immersive writing skills and gorgeous imagination will keep you sucked in from beginning to end. I completely devoured the book in one sitting of several hours while curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea . It is one of those beauties where regardless if you are reading it in the sun with a cocktail or curled up next to the fire with a hot chocolate Harper will transport you to Maple Falls at the turn of a page!

Pack your bags, get comfortable, clear your schedules and get ready to go on a humour, flower and love filled break to Maple Falls in this gorgeous read!

You need to book the day off whatever you had planned as once you pick up this book and turn the pages I can guarantee you will not want to put it down!! I found myself picking it up every spare second I had and not wanting to put it down and devoured it in a few short hours!!  AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS MUST READ!!

The characters were all unique with their own realistic traits, strengths, flaws, quirks and weaknesses. It was intriguing to watch and I was completely invested in each and every single one of them keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a happy ever after. Harper really does ensure they come to life at every turn of the page and I was sad to leave them when I came to the end and had to say Goodbye. Although I am looking forward to meeting them again in the previous and future books in this series.  All characters worked perfectly with the storyline and I would love to see this made into a series or even a movie!!!

Well done Harper on an yet ANOTHER absolutely stunning page turner, I will definitely be looking for your books any time I need a stunning escapism and a smile on my face! This is the exact reason you are on to my favourite authors list!

Overall a brilliant, stunning, sweet, spicy and beautiful page turning escapism!! An absolute must read!!

Krista loves her little business, running The Hot Honey Hideaway in Maple Falls. She certainly doesn't have time for romance. Until a photographer turns up and sparks begin to fly.

I love spending time at Maple Falls, so it was lovely to return for summer with The Hot Honey Hideaway by Harper Graham. This is book 4 in the series and can easily be read as a standalone; however, if you really want to get a true taste of the town and learn more about the characters who pop up in the story, I would recommend reading the previous three books.

Krista is a lovely character, one of those people who never seems to stand still; she's willing to help anyone. Unfortunately, this means that she's run ragged, particularly as her elderly grandparents are struggling with the campground they run. As a result, Krista is considering selling her business so that she'll have more time to support the people who raised her.

Photographer Joe has no roots; he enjoys travelling the world. As part of his current assignment, he agrees to swap roles with Krista, giving him a better picture of the small town. The attraction between the pair is immediate, but he's only around for a few days, so nothing major is going to happen.

As the pair spends time together, they struggle to fight the chemistry. Fate seems determined to throw them together in some compromising situations, which all adds to the spiciness of the storyline. The longer the pair spends time together, the more they begin to question their future plans. Joe has fallen in love with Maple Falls and is considering it as a permanent base. Could the couple survive a long-distance relationship?

The solution isn't straightforward, and you begin to wonder if this is a doomed relationship. Thankfully, the community of Maple Falls offers the support it is famous for.

The narrator, Andi Eloise, has narrated all the books in the series. This really helped me to quickly immerse myself in the story as it felt as if I was visiting a friend and catching up with news (or gossip). I was a little bit worried that, having covered the four seasons, this was to be the final book in the series. It was lovely, therefore, to see the author set up the next book in the series towards the end of the story. I'm already looking forward to The Pumpkin Pie Book Nook.

🚨 SPOILER ALERT: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Is it possible to fall more in love with the people of Maple Falls? You’d say no, but you’d be wrong! Another 5-star, 6-star, 10-star book from Harper Graham, and I was lucky enough to get an exclusive early look at it.
I’m giving this 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
ARC & ALC Disclosure: A huge thank you to NetGalley, the author Harper Graham, and the publisher for this exclusive early ARC and the advanced listening copy (ALC) of the audiobook! All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
The Review
I read this book in one sitting, and though here in Argentina it’s autumn, I can honestly say I felt the summer breeze and vibes this book gives. The story sweeps you right back into the heart of the community, wrapping you in that familiar small-town warmth where every neighbor feels like family.
The Good
I absolutely loved Krista as the FMC; after all, she’d been quietly around for all three other books. And Joe as the MMC is absolutely the best! Well, still no one beats Liam for me, but Joe is a close second. Their love story felt true, honest, and real in ways I didn't think were possible. I was also happy to see a couple of hints for next books coming too—Robyn’s story is confirmed as the next installment, but I’m pretty sure Anita’s is coming soon too... wink wink!
There’s something magical about a book that takes you to a place you love, with people gasping for breath all together when there’s a love confession, cheering, clapping, and reacting together. You feel right there with them, smiling and feeling utterly content and at home. The way this story makes you feel part of the community is just unmatched.
The Not So Good
The only bad thing is that I can't stay away from Maple Falls for too long! I’ll just have to read all the books again and listen to them too while I wait for the next one. The "book hangover" is real when a place feels this much like home.
🎧 AUDIOBOOK CORNER
As for the audiobook, the pacing was excellent! There is honestly nothing better than getting back to Maple Falls in audio format while you wait for your paperback to come out so you can buy it and read it all over again. The narrator brought the cozy atmosphere to life flawlessly, making the heartfelt emotional beats and the lively town banter stand out even more. It is an absolute treat for your ears

🎧 Audio Review: Enjoyed the narration for this one.

📝 Story Review: So this is book 4 in the Maple Falls Series, I’ve already read the first two books and I really enjoyed them!

This particular story gave me mixed feelings. I wasn’t a fan of the first half of the book, the insta-love feelings happened basically right away and for quite a while I felt it was simply based off looks, because they didn’t know each other. For me it was lacking character development and the romantic build up I prefer, at least in the first half. - The second half of the story delivered though! More insight into the two MC’s and they actually began to get to know the other. More feelings and depth showed up.

Overall, I enjoyed returning to Maple Falls and reuniting with familiar characters. I could relate to the FMC who felt as if she had to do everything on her own and was spread way too thin as she tried to be everything for everyone and kind of lost herself in the midst of things. The MMC was kind and I loved that he was able to find a home in Maple Falls after having been a foster kid and always going from place to place with no roots and then a job that allowed him to live that same lifestyle, so he never knew what it felt like to feel at home until he arrived there.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5/5
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3/5

Vibes: Small town cozy with some financial drama and insta-love.

Tropes 👇

- Small town
- Found family
- Insta-love (1 wk)
- Raising funds to help grandparents
- Family obligations
- Life swap for 1 wk between MC’s
- Photographer MMC
- Overwhelmed FMC
- Sexual fantasies lead up to spicy scenes
- Little bit of a family mystery to solve

CW’s 👇

- Strained parental relationship
- Discussion of uprooted foster kid life
- Financial difficulties
- Grandparent with memory issues

The Hot Honey Hideaway – Harper Graham | 4/5
The Hot Honey Hideaway is a warm, charming, and thoroughly enjoyable summer romance that earns its place as arguably the best entry in Graham's Maple Falls series yet. Equal parts cozy and spicy, it's the kind of read that feels like the first hit of sunshine on your face — easy, feel-good, and deeply satisfying.
The story follows Krista and Joe, two well-drawn leads whose connection feels genuine rather than manufactured. While some readers may find the romance moves at a brisk pace, others will find their relationship believable and well-developed — a testament to Graham's ability to make you care quickly. What gives this installment an extra edge over its predecessors is the added storyline of the Hideaway café facing closure, with the whole town rallying together in a delightfully inventive way to save it. That community-driven plot thread adds real depth and makes the stakes feel meaningful beyond the central romance.
Yes, the series is formulaic — but that's part of the appeal. Graham always finds a fresh layer to keep things from feeling stale, and the strong sense of community woven throughout Maple Falls is what makes the world so easy to return to. New readers needn't worry: the book works perfectly well as a standalone, though fans of the earlier books will find extra richness in being back among familiar faces.
The audiobook, narrated by Andi Eloise, is a particular highlight. She keeps the energy lively and engaging without veering into the theatrical, giving listeners just enough room to imagine the world for themselves — and holds up beautifully even at double speed.
A cozy, spicy, feel-good read that will leave you immediately reaching for whatever Graham writes next.

📚The Hot Honey Hideaway by Harper Graham
🎤Andi Eloise

3.5 ⭐

Thanks to Harper Graham, Bookouture, BookedWithTheEmilys and NetGalley for a physical copy of the book and for a #gifted copy of the ALC. All thoughts are my own.

If you're looking for a great summer read, with cozy vibes, a very sweet romance with a touch of mystery, then pick this one up. Krista and Joe's story was so sweet. It's one of those summer reads that leaves you with a warm feeling and wanting to spend the summer in an idyllic small-town, swimming in the lake and sipping on hot honey coffee while eating sweet treats all day.

When Joe arrives to Maple Falls, there's an instant attraction with Krista. Krista runs The Hideaway Cafe and it's at risk of having to be closed so the town pulls together and comes up with a creative scheme to help save it. Joe's only in town for a week but he gets pulled into help saving the Hideaway and this creates the perfect opportunity for these two to get to know each other.

There's a touch of mystery that Graham adds to the story involving Krista's grandmother and this added a really fun touch to the story. Is this book formulaic? Yes, but so many cozy romances are and that's why they usually end up being comfort reads for most of us. Usually a romance this fast would bother me, but a sweet summer romance usually moves quickly and I found myself just enjoying the story for what it was. It didn't feel like insta-lust, their attraction just felt natural. This is the perfect book to read on a summer getaway, in the mountains or by the lake.

🎤Let's talk audio: Andi Eloise gave a terrific performance narrating this sweet story. She gives Krista a sweet, bubbly demeanor and made her character so likeable. Her tone and inflection are spot on. No issues with her at all, I only wish this had a dual POV with a male narrator to voice Joe's character.

If you like the vibes of Stars Hallow with a dash of mystery, then The Hot Honey Hideaway might be your destination. You'll get cozy seasonal beverages, small-town vibes and some good ol' summer yearning.

This book is part of a series but this is the first one I've read and it absolutely can be read as a standalone. I'm excited to check out the other books in this series for my summer TBR.

✨Book releases June 3rd in Ebook, paperback and audio.

I’m so sorry for the late review! I realize it’s not too late, but I wanted to make sure I included it. I absolutely adore these books, and this one is my absolute favorite. The narrator did such an amazing job keeping me hooked on the audiobook.

These characters are going to stay with me forever. I love the author’s writing, the world she creates, and the characters she brings to life.

I’m just speculating, but I think there might be a book five. That ending left a bit of room for another small-town Maple Falls romance.

This one really stood out because the spice was handled so differently from the others, and I was totally on board.

Each book features a different couple in love with Maple Falls and the small town.
I highly recommend these books and anything the author releases.
This audiobook is available now, so definitely give these books a listen.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the opportunity to listen and share my honest thoughts and review. My reviews are posted on Goodreads, Amazon, and BookBub. I’d also love for you to check out my review posts on TikTok and Instagram.

Krista and Joe. 3.0 ⭐️’s. I really wanted to love this story, however it just fell a little short for me. I loved a small town romance. I think the start of their romance just put me off, it was really quick and while the spice is there, I just don’t think it adds to the plot of the story. I know this is a stand alone in the series and maybe you don’t need to read the others, but I wonder if reading the other stories would have help me build more of an attachment to the characters in this one. I just did not feel connected to them. As for the narrator, Andi Eloise I think she does a good job. It’s a bit hard to see the transition between characters but not bad. It kept me engaged to atleast keep on listening. I do think that this story would be appreciated by those who love small town romances and fast burn romance. I do advise reading series from the beginning to build more of a connection with all the characters. For the hopeless romantic in me, it just fell a little short.

Thank you Booked With the Emilys, Harper Graham and Bookouture for the advance copy.

The Hot Honey Hideaway by Heather Graham (Pub Date 6/3/26) was exactly the kind of sweet, cozy escape I was in the mood for. I’d love to spend my days at Krista’s cafe sipping one of those delicious honey spiced drinks.

Krista and Joe had instant chemistry, and I loved watching their connection grow from flirtatious sparks to something much deeper. Their romance delivered plenty of swoony moments along with just the right amount of steam. Joe’s search for a place that feels like home and Krista’s determination to keep her dream alive made it easy to root for them both.

The side characters really made this story shine, especially Krista’s grandparents, who completely stole my heart.

I loved their job swap and the way the whole town got into it as well.

This was warm, cozy, romantic, and full of small town charm, this was such a delightful read.

Thank you Bookouture for the e-arc and alc!

The Hot Honey Hideaway was such a sweet, summery escape. I loved seeing familiar faces from the previous novel show up again — it made the whole story feel cozy and connected, like stepping back into a world I already cared about. The setting had this warm, sun‑kissed charm that made the perfect backdrop for all the emotional moments and character growth.

Harper Graham balanced lighthearted fun with deeper, more personal flow, and the relationships — romantic and otherwise — were thought out wonderfully.

Andi Eloise’s narration added so much personality to the story. She captured the tone beautifully, gave each character a distinct presence, and kept me engaged the entire time. Her delivery really elevated the experience.

Overall, this was a delightful listen with familiar faces, a summery setting, and a story that felt comforting in all the best ways.

Hot Honey Hideaway
🌶️🌶️🌶️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cozy cafes, a colorful cast, and a sizzling summer nights? The Hot Honey Hideaway is the next perfect small town spicy romance.

This is a very fast paced, insta-love type of story. There is no slow burn, which worked with the pacing of the rest of the book.

This is book four in an interconnected series- I didn’t know that going in, so I probably missed some context in certain scenes, but I was able to follow along and enjoy the book without having read the previous stories.

I listened to the audiobook, and Andi Eloise did a fantastic job on bringing the story to life.

The Hot Honey Hideaway blends romance, community spirit, and a touch of mystery as Krista and Joe work together to save the beloved café at the heart of Maple Falls. The romance moves quickly, which may not suit everyone, but it does grow more satisfying in the second half as the characters open up and their connection deepens. The added storyline involving Krista’s grandmother brings a nice touch of intrigue and emotional weight.
On audio, Andi Eloise does a great job bringing the story to life. Her narration is clear, expressive, and easy to listen to, keeping the story engaging throughout. Overall, a light, cosy romance perfect for summer listening if you enjoy fast-burn love stories and small-town charm.

Many thanks to Bookouture Audio for providing me with an ARC!

I am really liking Maple Falls. Hot Honey Hideaway takes us on a journey with Krista, who owns said beach cafe/bar. Joe comes to town to do a story. He’s a photo journalist.
There is a whole lot going on in Krista’s life, and things get more complicated as she and Joe grow close.
It’s a romance so a happy ending is expected, but longevity of the relationship doesn’t look so good for a while.
This is a spicy romance.
I enjoyed the story and the ending was sweet. There are a few sound bites of wisdom that come out of the narrative.
I listened to the audiobook and like the narrator.

Thank you so much NetGalley for the ARC!

This is my first read by Harper Graham and what a gorgeous introduction! It had quite a lot of similarities to Laurie Gilmore’s ‘Daisy Chain Flower Shop’ so if you’re a fan of her books then you’ll love this!

Krista & Joe had such a beautiful love story, I loved the added layer of Krista’s history aligning with her own love story.

Technically the audiobook was perfect, voices and actors were great. Quality was perfect!

4 stars for me over all

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this ALC. this is a small town summer cute read. A little spice. Krista runs a small business and Joe is a photographer.

This was just ok for me I found it kind of lacking but for a cute summer read it wasn’t bad.
