He’s about to play the most important role of his life.
Zak Lewis has been undercover for more than half a year for the Shifter Coalition. When one of the men in the group he’s infiltrated is put in danger, Zak has to make an agonizing decision. Whether or not to take another’s life.
Abilene Fox is working behind the scenes as her ATF partner is working undercover. When Luca is shot, their investigation crashes with the Coalition’s. The Coalition agent who steps into her life is something she’s not prepared for. But maybe that’s a good thing. Zak is used to playing a role. He’s been the bad boy, the helpless, the brute, the geek and so much more. One look at Abilene and Zak can feel in his gut that he is about to play the most important role of his life. This time, for keeps.
Publisher's Note: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series.
I live in Texas with my husband, daughter, and three Labrador retrievers. By day you can find me at my 'day job' buried under a pile of paperwork but at night I am at my computer creating new worlds!
I have always loved the paranormal. Shape-shifters, witches, and vampires have been my number one choice of reading material so when I strated to write it was the genre I chose.
I currently have several books released through Totally Bound. I have one long running series the Were Chronicles and in March 2014 a spin-off series the Shifter Chronicles will be revealed.
I also have several stand alone novellas and novels.
I am working hard to bring more stories to the readers so they can sit back and relax while losing themselves in the paranormal romance world.
Eye of the Tiger is my first book by author Crissy Smith. I walked in with no expectations but I'm coming away with needing more. This book read hot quick and loaded with what I like - Action, excitement and adventure.
What really sold me on this book are the characters. From the main to the secondary, I found them all a pleasant surprise. Zak and Abilene are the main ones and they immediately had me cheering them on. Throw in Jaime, Cody and Luca, who are all amazeballs. The intricate interacting between all the characters definitely makes this story. But that’s not all. They are all working in an investigation that kept this story moving quickly. Now, what would a shifter story be without some heat? There are several scenes between Zak and Abilene that are steamy hot and wildly explosive. Of course, there was also a few that had me giggling… ICE! Hee-hee!!
Starting in the middle of a series sometimes can be a hot mess, especially if you needed backstories to understand. This is not the case here. Eye of the Tiger works great as a stand-alone and am throwing it in my recommended pile. Although, given how much I enjoyed Cody and Jaime, I backtracked to see what the first books in the series were about. And what do you know, there are my two favorite shifters starting in their own books. I am definitely, going to be checking them out.
I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
I am very excited that Eye of the Tiger is now available. I am really enjoying playing with this series and seeing what our shifters are getting up to!
You can read Eye of the Tiger as a stand alone novel but I do suggest you read the first two books in the series Birds of Prey and Bear Claw first. Only because Zak is in those books too. This is his story though.
Zak is unlike his fellow shifters. He's hiding a painful past and he doesn't embrace his tiger side. In Fact he is scared of it.
Abilene is a ATF agent who is out to get the man who shot her partner. She just never expected Zak to be such a complication.
Book Four Coyote's Kiss is releasing at the end of July and is the story about Abilene's partner Luca. To really enjoy the next book I would read this first.
I really hope you enjoy the shifters. When I set up this spin off series I wanted to keep things between the Were Chronicles and these books separate. You don't have to read both series to enjoy the worlds I've created although I hope you will give them a chance.
