Knox's Boy: Daddy MM Romance

Rate this book
Florian Freeman is drowning.

Nine dollars in his bank account. An eviction notice on his door. A father who only calls when he needs vodka money. And a mother who disappeared to Russia when he was fourteen.
Desperate and out of options, Florian does the one thing he swore he'd never do — he creates a profile on an app for wealthy Dominants looking for company. He's young, he's pretty, and he's willing to fake it for one night if it means keeping a roof over his head.
Then he meets Knox.

Robert Knox doesn't do feelings.

At forty-eight, he's built an empire, a fortress, and a reputation for absolute control. He hires boys for one to care for them on his terms, with no risk of attachment. It's a transaction. Clean. Simple. Safe.
But Florian isn't clean or simple. He's a trembling, foul-mouthed, impossibly beautiful disaster who falls apart on Knox's sofa before they even begin — and somehow makes Knox want to put him back together.

What starts as an arrangement becomes something neither of them expected.

Knox offers structure. Rules. Discipline. A steady hand and a place to belong. Florian offers something Knox didn't know he was missing — chaos, honesty, and the kind of reckless trust that can't be bought.
But Florian's past isn't finished with him. His father's addiction, his own crushing shame, and the voice in his head that says he'll never deserve this life threaten to destroy everything Knox is building.
And Knox will burn the world down before he lets that happen.

Knox's Boy is a standalone Daddy/boy MM romance featuring an age gap (21/48), explicit BDSM content including spanking and discipline, hurt/comfort, found family, and a guaranteed happily ever after. All characters are consenting adults.

"Age is a number for accountants, not lovers.

This was definitely outside my usual reading lane, but apparently sometimes you don't need a subtle, nuanced literary masterpiece. Sometimes you need a terrifyingly competent Daddy taking one deeply chaotic boy into his arms and deciding, “We're fixing this.”

Apparently, I needed that. 😂❤️😂❤️

Florian is 21, working and going to college while barely keeping his head above water. His mother left when he was fourteen, and his father, Finn, is an absolute piece of work — manipulative, selfish and constantly taking from Florian without ever giving anything back. When Florian is evicted and has nowhere else to turn, he ends up meeting Knox through an arrangement that starts out feeling almost transactional.

Knox is 48, wealthy, controlled and very much a Daddy who likes rules, structure and taking care of his boy. What starts as an arrangement quickly becomes something much deeper, and watching Knox give Florian the security, stability and care he's been missing his entire life was delicious.

"You are the most precious thing in my world, Florian. I would raze cities for you. Do you understand?"

And honestly, the aftercare? To die for. 🫠 I loved seeing Florian finally have someone who makes him feel safe, wanted and like he actually belongs somewhere. Knox calling him Prince absolutely melted me, too.

"Never doubt for a second that you belong here," he said. "You are not my burden. You are my reason."

I did struggle with the punishment side of their dynamic. I understand why Florian needs structure after the life he's had, but the punishments never quite worked for me. By the end, I was even more aware that they sometimes seemed to be something Knox enjoyed more than Florian. The 21/48 age gap itself didn't bother me — I've read and loved big age gaps before — but combined with the Daddy dynamic, the rules, the punishments and the amount of control Knox has, it occasionally felt a little icky.

I also think this book was way too long. 😂 It falls into the same loop of rules → Florian breaks one → punishment → aftercare, and eventually I really started feeling the repetition. There was simply no reason this needed to be 384 pages.

But despite all of that, I liked this a lot. The care, the tenderness, the security, the found family and watching Florian finally have someone who genuinely puts him first completely won me over.

“You're my home," he said, his voice rough. He lifted my hand, pressing a kiss to the center of my palm, then to my wrist, right over my pulse.
"Ten!" The crowd inside roared, the sound muffled but audible through the glass.
"Nine!"
Knox lifted my chin gently, his thumb tracing my lower lip.
"Eight!"
"I love you," I whispered.
"I love you," he answered.
“Three! Two! One!"
As the city exploded, we kissed. It wasn't a gentle kiss. It was deep and desperate, a claiming. Somewhere above us, fireworks shattered the darkness, blooms of red, gold, and green. The booms echoed in my chest, mixing with the pounding of my heart. I saw the flashes of light against my closed eyelids, felt the vibrations in the railing, but my entire world was narrowed down to the taste of him, the heat of his mouth, the strength of his arms holding me up.
"Happy New Year, my boy," he said.
"Happy New Year, Daddy.”

"You are the most precious thing in my world, Florian. I would raze cities for you. Do you understand?"
^ Page 199.

3.5✨ but for Goodreads rounded down to a 3.

I loved the first fifty percent of this book. Loved the daddy kink. Loved that spanking was a punishment. Loved the age gap.

But after a while the book falls flat. By 60% I realised the pattern for this book is >> the guys have sex, life is great - Florian goes through some bad thoughts or sees his dad and doesn't trust Knox - Knox spanks Florian - they hang out - then it starts again.

I'm not even sure how many times it's happened. But it went on from beginning to the very end and it made the book predictable.

The last 60 pages? Almost kinda felt like the author was running out of ideas. You had Knox's mother's nurse suddenly calling him to say his mother is sick and in hospital? There's no mention of his mother before that. Then it's his birthday? Then Florian's dad is back. Again predictable with that one.

Oh and another thing? Luna is annoying. I understand that she's a concerned best friend but she told Florian about a friend of a friend who used a sugar daddy to pay her bills. Then every time she sees him she belittles Florian and makes him question his relationship with Knox? Then she eventually comes over because Knox wants to "meet the arsonist" - she doesn't even say hello before she questions Knox's intentions. Then a page later? She's sharing embarrassing stories about Florian??

Overall, started great but over time I became bored and lost interest for the reasons stated above.

This book was just what I needed! I loved how K loved F. ( btw I really love F’s name and will use it for my next D&D character.) I loved watching both of their walls crumble. They both had tall walls and it was so great watching them crumble as love formed. Watch your triggers with this one. This is also a new to me author and I’m already seeing what other books there are. The writing was great, the spice was yum, and the story was great.

So, I read this in one day but only because I had a argument with my husband over bathroom renovations and I grabbed a bag of graham crackers and my Stanley and, being the mature woman I am, I went to the bedroom and haven’t left. I had good company with Knox and Florian.

I am a complete sucker for homeless boys who get rescued by his daddy and this book hit. Florian - it sounds weird but I loved his insecurities. It was authentic.

Now Knox. Hmm. The beginning was handled perfectly for me. I detest playboys. Like I have visceral reactions when I have to read about other partners so Knox “hiring” men rubbed me the wrong at first but,it wasn’t an issue. I am being a complete hypocrite here but I also wanted to know more about Knox’s acquired boys.
I make no sense. I know.

I’m a flag waving insta love girl through and through but this was not that. I also never felt a “deep” connection between Florian and Knox. Connection - yes but soul deep? No. I wished their inner monologue reflected more of their desire and love for each other.

The Daddy kink in this book was the chef’s kiss. There are so many books claiming “Daddy/Boy” but they sit on a throne of lies. One is not a Daddy simply because he is called Daddy!

There was no age play or age regression in this book but Knox was for sure a Daddy. He took control, provided boundaries and rewards. While there wasn’t a TPE the roles were strict. Knox was a caretaker if there ever was.

What else? Oh! The spice. I read everything from fade to black to embarrassing smut. I have a range. This was a low spice book (for me). I don’t like spanking but if it happens to end with a little somethin’ somethin’ I’ll push through. Gain my reward. Again, this was not that.

Okay now my pet peeve. HFN vs HEA. I will die on this hill. I hate HFN endings. I deserve an HEA god dammit. I’ve spent hours with these guys. I worried with them. I was with them when their walls were finally let down and that’s the ending got? I deserve a ride off into the sunset. Just sayin’ is all…

Final thoughts: Good book. Low spice. Medium angst. No OM/OW drama, safe and HFN

He is out of options so he does what he never thought he would do, he will offer himself up for money. Neither of his parents care about him so that first meeting is booked but he breaks down before anything could happen. They do not do emotions but things are about to change, especially when his past rises it’s ugly head. See just how it will all go

There’s no reason for this book to be so long and Knox’s comment that he’s fine with being wealthy because his financial advisors say he gives away too much money can fuck all the way off. I’m down for a rescued by a billionaire romance but please don’t pretend that billionaires are saints 🤦‍♀️

It’s starting to get repetitive/boring anyway so I’m cutting my losses here.

Knox’s Boy follows Florian Freeman, a young man struggling to keep his life together while dealing with financial hardship, an unstable family situation, and deep insecurities about his own worth. Desperate for stability, Florian enters an arrangement with Robert Knox, a wealthy, older man who is accustomed to keeping emotions out of his relationships.

Knox is initially looking for something structured and uncomplicated, but Florian quickly becomes much more than he expected. What begins as an arrangement gradually develops into a relationship built on trust, care, boundaries, and an unexpected emotional connection. As Florian’s difficult past continues to affect him, Knox becomes determined to give him the stability and sense of belonging he has never really had.

I loved their encounter the first time when they are in Knox’s home… Brilliantly described here… The only issue with it is that when they finally slept together, both of them just assumed that not using any protection was fine, that they were safe with each other, when they really didn’t know each other at all at the time.

The story combines an age-gap romance with themes of hurt and comfort, found family, personal healing, and learning to accept love. Both Florian and Knox have emotional walls to overcome, and much of the story is about watching those walls slowly come down as they learn to trust one another.

Overall, Knox’s Boy was a nice book to read, particularly for readers who enjoy age-gap MM romance, a protective and caring older partner, emotional healing, and a relationship that develops from an unconventional beginning into something more meaningful. It has its heavier moments, but ultimately delivers a warm and satisfying romantic story.

I received this free ARC, and this is my honest review.

This one was a great one! It was perfect for me at the time, and I became too attached to Florian and Knox than I bargained for really. I was most fond of seeing both of them begin to surrender their walls a little at a time. Both were having their own struggles and had a ton of reasons to stay away from others and it was my favorite part to see that trust form.

Florian was a great character to play. He was sweet, stubborn, a little crazy, and certainly not afraid to say what he had to say. Knox was usually less predictable and preferred to keep things simple and detached, so it was just so rewarding to see Florian totally rock his world. I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold and the amount of trust they grew during their journey.

The BDSM part was also dealt with very well considering that it wasn't only about the physical. The connection felt deeper than that, it felt like they communicated, trusted and were very vulnerable to each other. Yes, the spice was a plus too – these two definitely had some chemistry.

In addition, the past had a certain emotional weight that made the story even more complex; I found myself sympathising with Florian every time he began to get in the way with the insecurities he felt. I enjoyed it when Knox didn't walk away when things got tough. He explained that Florian didn't have to cope with it all himself.

I loved this book, it was my first one from the author and I'll definitely be reading more of it. I loved the writing, loved the characters, and loved the ending, it made me happy for these two. In addition, Florian is a very nice name. I'm all too willing to take it as a D&D character! 😂

Florian, a desperate college student on the verge of eviction, does something he thought he'd never do. But desperate times call for desperate measures and he decides to sign up for an app for wealthy dominants looking for company. He doesn't know what he signed up for but it surely wasn't to meet Knox, a man who has it all and prefers to meet with boys on his terms with no attachment involved. Too bad Florian isn't like his other boys. He's pretty, young, mouthy and a bit chaotic and he turns Knox's world around. But he isn't the only one. Florian seems to really have lucked out with finding Knox and becoming his boy. He found something he wasn't looking for but felt like it was written in the stars. It isn't always perfect but I loved Florian and Knox's dynamic and their BDSM aspect of their relationship and the book because I feel like with books about BDSM we get such a deeper connection with the MCs because that kind of relationship requires power, discipline and alot of trust and they both earn every one. But Florian's past rears its ugly head and Florian is more afraid of dragging Knox into his past but what he soon realizes is that Knox isn't about to let that happen. Not to his boy. I'm sad to say that this is only my first book by this author but I'm happy that it won't be the last. This book was moving and had so many nuances throughout and these men just really deserved that happy ending.

KNOX'S BOY is the first book in the Daddy Knows Best series and features Knox and Florian. You can guess from the title which one is which!

Knox originally only wanted one night, but Florian soon threw that idea out the window. Florian is vulnerable, anxious, but willing, which just happens to tick all of Knox's boxes. As for Knox himself, he's a steady, confident billionaire who knows what, or rather who, he wants. I loved the relationship between Knox and Florian, especially how Knox was always there for Florian whenever he needed him, and sometimes even before Florian realised. Florian's anxieties were completely understandable, especially concerning his d!ck of a father.

While I enjoyed their dynamic, I could also understand Luna's perspective, although I found it a little hypocritical considering she was the one who mentioned the website in the first place. And I would also have liked a bit more of Florian and Knox's mum. That just seemed thrown in at the end, and yet I loved how they were together.

All in all, this was a long book that I enjoyed and recommend. Looking forward to book 2. 4 out 5 great stars.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! 🥹💗

This is a standalone MM romance featuring daddy kink, impact play, and a deliciously vulnerable male sub who is carrying so much guilt and hurt… and watching his Dom slowly help him heal? MY HEART😭🫠

If you love a vulnerable sub who needs someone patient enough to see past his walls, give him the care he desperately needs, and help him find his way back to himself… BABY, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU💗

The emotional healing, the dynamic between them, the tenderness underneath all the deliciousness… I was SO invested.

And can we talk about the author?! Because I am officially MEGA INVESTED. 👀 Their second book is actually my favorite so far, so clearly I need to read EVERYTHING they’ve written immediately. (Saddly there’s only two books at the momento ) Consider me seated. Consider me obsessed.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review by GRR, and honestly? I AM SO HAPPY I DID. Getting to discover an author who can deliver this much emotion, chemistry, kink, and tenderness is exactly why I love ARCs. 🥹✨

HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! 💗

If you’re into MM romance, daddy kink, impact play, vulnerable male subs, healing, emotional hurt/comfort, and a Dom who knows how to take care of his man… add this one to your TBR. Like, immediately😏📚💕

There are some authors that should be ashamed of using the terms "Daddy" and BDSM. Readers end up going back to the blurb saying "Yeah they really did say it was going to be there." I didn't have that problem with Roan Solano's "
Knox's Boy: Daddy MM Romance" which is part of the Daddy Knows Best series. Everything that was offered up in the book description, was here.
A 27 year difference for 21 year old Florian and Daddy Dom, Knox. Yes. He's a stern daddy, spankings and consequences. Aftercare, which is often glossed over, 'to get to the rest of the story', is done marvelously. The spice is very, very nice. The author does attempt to create a relationship outside the playroom. It tends to be a bit draggy.
Florian has toxic family as well as his best friend. Only necessary for angst. As for Knox, the Dom in him calls for a controlled world. Relationships were transitional (I hate that word). Florian changed that bringing color and chaos into his staid existence. Knox provided the discipline and order which Florian desperately needed.
This could have gone blonde or over burnt. Author Solano rode the line of spice and erotica. Did a good job.
I received an advanced copy of this ebook from GRR and this is my review.

I really enjoyed Florian and Knox’s story. Florian’s situation immediately pulled me in, and I appreciated how vulnerable and insecure he was without ever feeling like his struggles defined him completely. Watching him slowly find stability, confidence, and a place where he felt wanted was really satisfying.

Knox took a little longer for me to warm to, especially given his previous arrangements, but I ended up really liking the way he cared for Florian. The Daddy/boy dynamic felt purposeful rather than simply being a label, with Knox providing the structure, boundaries, and reassurance Florian desperately needed.

The romance is more about trust and learning to rely on someone than an instant, all-consuming connection, and I thought that worked well for these two. There’s plenty of angst along the way, but also a lovely found-family element and some genuinely sweet moments. Overall, a good hurt/comfort read with a satisfying emotional journey.

okay

I’ve read other books by this author and I liked them, but this one… it was odd. Knox is too forceful, too much, and then, too little. He runs hot and cold, and it doesn’t make sense at all. It felt like he was trying to destroy Flo instead of building him up, have everything around him go wrong, so Flo has to depend on Knox for everything, and then, he might not even give it to him (like when he ends up elsewhere…). This didn’t feel like a romantic relationship, it felt like pure control, not given freely, but forced. It had good points, good things, but the lack of care Knox showed at times bothered me, it felt more controlling than loving, and it felt like Knox was setting Florian up to fail, so he wouldn’t have anyone else to go to. Flo’s friend (I forgot her name), says exactly how I feel toward their relationship, no matter how many times Knox fills up Florian’s cup of water. 2.5 stars. Has potential, could be great.

Oh my God I really love this book. I'm all about the daddy mm romances I don't know why it's just something that I love to read. This is a part of the daddy knows best series by Roan Solano. In this book we get Florian and Robert and let me tell you something this was amazing. Of course it's an age Gap Florian is a 21 year old man that is seriously drowning in debt and everything else you could possibly think of. He doesn't have a good pass he's not in a good situation he gets hooked up with Robert who is just looking for a boy to take care of with no emotions no feelings. Little do they know things take a while turn and Robert cannot get enough and would burn the world for his boy.
I really do love the ending of the book where Robert goes all out for Florian friend and gets her the blue dress I think that is just absolutely amazing.
Overall, it's absolutely amazing book if this is your cup of tea this is the greatest book I love it.

I’d never read this author before, so I wasn’t sure what I’d be walking into… but I’m really glad I gave this book a chance. Florian fits one of my favorite character types: a little bratty, down‑on‑his‑luck, and absolutely capable of rising from the ashes once someone finally sees him. There were moments he felt young, and I’d remind myself… he is. And then there were moments he felt older than his years, which makes perfect sense given everything life has already thrown at him. Stress can age you fast.

I loved Florian and Knox together. I adore when two people find exactly what they didn’t know they needed. Knox choosing to nurture, protect, and help Florian recognize his own strength made their connection feel so satisfying. This story surprised me in the best way, and now I’m excited to see what else this author has to offer.

This book was on the sweeter more emotional side though there was steam and kink the focus was more on the healing and caretaking. I really enjoyed how Knox and Florian met, how their first night together went, and how their relationship developed from there. The kink Daddy + Boy dynamic was fun and hot. Even with the huge age gap, I felt they really fit together so well, and the nature of their relationship never made me feel icky. They were sweet/steamy together. I ate this book up.

Roan Solano crafts a tender yet intense romance between two men who seem like opposites but fit together perfectly. Knox's quiet strength and Florian's raw honesty create a dynamic that's both swoon-worthy and deeply moving.

What makes this book stand out is how it balances the kink elements with genuine emotional intimacy. This isn't just about the power exchange. It's about two broken people finding healing in each other. Florian's journey from self-destruction to self-worth is beautifully rendered, and watching Knox fiercely protect his boy is everything.

The found family themes add even more heart. If you love hurt/comfort romance with real depth and chemistry that jumps off the page, this is your book.

Not enough stars!!! Florian is in absolute dire straights. Everything is going the way his life has been for many years now. Delinquent and or missing parents. No financial support. Knox knows what he wants from a boy. It's not permanent, it's a scratch an itch thing. That is until he meets Florian and then he knows what he has been waiting for. Even if he didn't know he was waiting. It's a beautiful, hurt/comfort/ age gap romance where the two sides of a whole come together perfectly. Of course there are troubles along the way but this gives Knox the ability to show his boy just who he is. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Knox’s Boy by Roan Solano was a surprising and enjoyable read. I have not read this author before and I was hesitant as I am very picky about what I like in Daddy/boy romances. However, this one drew me in immediately and I had trouble putting it down.

Knox and Florian enter an arrangement for a sugar baby situation (temporary), but it soon turns into something more. Florian needed someone on his side and I love that Knox could read him so well. These two really loved each other and I felt the chemistry between them. I definitely enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one.

Florian said he was waiting for the other shoe to drop, but honestly, it was ME who was anxious the whole time. I kept waiting for shit to happen to Florian. Lol.

Their kink was okay. I liked the Daddy and boy dynamic, since that's my favorite BDSM dynamic.

My problem with books is that when the story gets dragged on and on, I lose interest, and reading starts to feel like a chore. Unfortunately, that's what happened to me here. I enjoyed the book, but it eventually felt too long for me.

It was okay but it falls flat after 60% - its a standard daddy/boy BDSM dynamics with lots of rules, expectations and consequences for breaking the rules. Pretty fun but after 60% its just runs into a pattern - they live amazingly then Florian gets bad ideas about their relationship and their standings and pulls back than Knox spanks him and all is right with the world again. Kinda meh but good enough to read at least once

This was a good book by a new to me author. I love Daddy/ boy and age gap stories, so I was excited to read it. Kmox was a little too Dom-my for my personal tastes, but that's not why I took off .5 star. I felt the scenes were getting repetitive, which made the book pretty long.

It was good, though, and I'd read this author again.

Florian and Knox are a match made in heaven. This book hooked me from the start, even had me in actual tears so thanks for that lol
The dynamic between them works really well and to see it in a “real life” situation is even better, no matter what is happening though, Knox always keeps his word and shows Florian he is dependable and his rock. Their chemistry and ability to bring out the hidden sides to each other makes me giddy.
I wonder what comes next

Florian, a 21 year old college student is in dire straits and signs up on an app for a wealthy Dominant to help him. Knox wants him immediately and their pairing starts out with Florian afraid and Knox becoming his Daddy with a loving and disciplinary arrangement soon unfolding. With an age gap and lots of discipline, especially spanking, Florian's life is transformed as is Knox's. It did seem like a surfeit of punishment towards the end but they were into that.

Florian's life was a total mess, two selfish parents who were totally incapable of caring for him left him with no self-esteem and no good coping skills. Knox had coping skills enough for a dozen people, but had forgotten what it was like to care deeply for anyone. When these two come together in this age gap romance each one ends up giving the other exactly what he needs. Not without struggle and not without serious trust issues along the way, but the eventually get there.

It seemed relatively interesting and well written but when telling his BFF about Knox she brought up Krav Maga and guns which turned me off instantly. Three years into a public genocide and we’re still promoting Is*ael, fuck that.

Also, apparently this author has a hard on for billionaires and how ethical they can be. Fuck you.

This is a book I started and couldn't put down.
The book describes the story so incredibly beautifully.

It describes so beautifully how one MC is protective and caring, and how the other slowly learns to heal himself and allows someone to care for him.
My emotions were put to the test, and a few tears were certainly shed.

Watching these two come together was beautiful. They both had a lot of obstacles that they needed to overcome in order to be a better person or the other one. I thought the author did a great job with giving these to a story that they definitely deserve d they were able to get their happily ever after even after all that they had been through. I thought this book was a great read.
