Requires editing clean-up and actual pattern breakdown diagrams.

First of all -- this is yet another basic primer of information and a scant 9 tangle patterns, all of which can be easily found elsewhere online for free. You're not going to learn anything new in this one. It is a very short book -- short enough that I finished it in less than 10 minutes -- and yet is still somehow riddled with awful editing issues: numbers in the middle of works, improper capitalizations, inconsistent list formatting, et cetera. Please, please get a proof reader before publishing.

And honestly? A Zentangle book that has no actual image breakdowns of patterns? Huge no-no. Zentangle is a visual art. Providing poorly written breakdowns and only a single, small image of a finished tangle tile is... Well, it's a very poorly thought-out decision. I'll leave it at that.

I was looking forward to reading this book as Zentangle is one of the current in and popular things to do but I have to say that I was disappointed. Whilst it gave you a description of what this is and how its come about and also an explanation of what art is, I actually expected to give examples of the most common pattern which actual images that you could follow. Its ok for what it is but could be so much better.

Nice book

Well written, good information. Lovely, clear visual examples. There are no step-by-step visual guides to explain how each type of tangle is created, but one can result locate such examples on the internet. This would be a good book to keep on hand for inspiration & helpful instructions.

Zentangling

More technical details than most books I've read. ThIs good for a beginner. While the author repeatedly said there are no rules, he also repeatedly Said no rulers or erasers. So are there rules or not?

Introduction to zentangle

The book gives a basic introduction to zentangles. The pictures for the patterns are too small to be useful, although there are also written directions.
