Enjoyable read
An enjoyable read I
quite enjoyed the book towards the end with all the action scenes but I thought the beginning was really boring and slow. Age gap tropes are not really my thing. I just don’t understand what a grown man in his 30s will have in common with an 18 year-old who is just still literally a child. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that they are supposed to be a mafia family, all experts in their field. Did it not occur to anyone that Isabella managed to escape and probably told her husband what’s going on. And , so her father and brother would change their plan and be ready for them. Still I am glad the couple got there happy ever after.

The rating doesn’t reflect the fact that I practically read this in one sitting and stayed up to 3am to finish. The writing was good and cohesive, mostly descriptive and clear. Decently edited.
So why no more than 3 ⭐️? The angst in this one was waaaaaaaayyyyy overdone. I’m sorry but when it takes to 90% in for the H to even consider his true feelings for the h, I’m exhausted. Also, Alessandro (Al) was just so awful to Isabella. Never physically cruel but his hot/cold was so intense and cruel it gave me whiplash and I honestly just wanted the FMC to move on for her own mental health.
The push pull in this story never lets up. Al is so consumed with mistrust for Isabella and hatred for her family he can’t see past it. He’s drawn to her at the initial meeting and forgets his plans to keep it just business. They flirt and banter, and their chemistry was pretty explosive. But then he scares himself and decides to pull back. This continues until their first intimate encounter, where he takes her v card, but instead of tenderness and closeness afterwards he freaks out about his potential feelings and completely ices her out. It was a little tough to read given she’s 18 and that’s her only experience with intimacy. But Isabella is really mature and level headed for her age, and while she’s extremely hurt and confused by his actions, she accepts he wants nothing more than a business arrangement from her and gives him coolness right back.
But then our H is hurt by her aloofness 🤔 . And instead of wanting to make things right with her and explaining his fears of love and vulnerability, he decides to manipulate her into being loyal to him over her family (which she already is but as I said… he’s blind and stupid), by seducing her. He takes her on a honeymoon and becomes performative husband. She sees through it but is also getting whiplash, and after some sweetness and then passion, she begins to quietly wonder if maybe they could have more. But an attack on his business that points to her family as the culprits has his mistrust spiking to new levels and he becomes cold again.
What follows is an exhausting and borderline emotionally abusive back and forth where sweet Isabella tries so hard to show Al she’s not his enemy, that she’s loyal to him, that she’s beginning to care for him. And Al takes everything she gives, gives very little in return while still distrusting her.
When everything comes to a head he’s convinced she’s in on the betrayal from her family, he sends her back to them while silently planning to annihilate them all. She’s just found out she’s pregnant, doesn’t tell him as he’s banishing her/accusing her. She’s locked up and starved, hit, because she won’t cooperate with her father/brother against Al. It’s unclear how much time passes, but a week or more. She learns their plans to attack Al, manages to escape injured, and gets to him to tell him. (I probably would have just run for my life honey. Not sure he deserved the heads up 🥴).
Al is disconcerted about the state she’s in, but still wary 🙄, but when he discovers she’s pregnant and she wants to be free of him, something FINALLY clicks for this emotionally constipated a-hole and he realizes his true feelings. But we’re like 90% in and I’m just so exhausted and sad for Isabella at this point I can’t even be that happy for them.
The grovel was hardly there. He says some sweet things and agrees to help her be free, but our once strong h is so beaten down emotionally from his whiplash that she immediately is like well if you want me to stay because you love me then I want to stay. 😒 we’re talking like 1 page of grovel, one blanket apology. Honestly it was no where near enough for the emotional warfare he waged on her. The whole book I’m thinking we’ll get like 25-30% book of grovel. It’s what was owed, that’s for sure. Disappointing.
The end conflict was too quick for the all build up. H and h were all of sudden so good and a power couple etc. The epilogue was sweet and a nice ending.
I’m disappointed the author sacrificed true emotional depth and growth, and appropriate grovel for spice and angst. The balance felt way off here, and honestly the more time went on the more I got the ick from Alessandro. All of his manipulation and scheming and distrust of Isabella, whose only transgression was the family she was born into, made him unlikable and untrustworthy to me.
It didn’t feel authentic that Isabella would trust him, maybe ever, given everything he’s said to her was calculated and self-serving. In reality she’d be constantly on edge, waiting for him to pull the rug out from under her once again. I don’t know, so much time and energy went into Al’s fears of vulnerability and his father’s lessons about getting close to someone (it was his whole personality), but Isabella is just expected to forgive and trust his feelings are genuine despite weeks and weeks of emotional whiplash and turmoil. Where’s her years of mistrust and coldness? I didn’t like how the author had her just cave and trust he was being authentic after everything. I won’t continue the series and I may be done with this author if this is how she does “romance”.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Isabella never respected never to be used as leverage yet she found herself in a position after being raised to be obedient, to as you are told, be quiet pretend you are in love, and she may be a truce offered between two families but they never realized it didn’t make her powerless in fact it might just make her the most dangerous person in the room. Isabella learns that fear can be used as just that fear or as strength, she uses it to sharpen her instincts, to stop standing by watching her life pass by and becoming the controller of her own life not leaving it to a man again. Alessandro sexy as all get out mafia don with a reputation of being powerful king agreed to marry for peace between to families isn’t a man you want to betray or a man you want on your radar, he is dangerous, ruthless, on a good day, deadly every day, and expected an obedient bride but what he got was a women who kept him on his toes, challenged him at every turn making sure he stayed ready but craved her like nobody’s business. This is the final story in The Dante Dynasty Series brings us one intense arranged marriage where Alessandro is offered a young bride, Isabella the daughter of the very family who previously plotted against him to with the chance to end their rivalry. Alessandro doesn’t trust many people so when he marries Isabella he only sees his enemy but at the same time she challenges him. Isabella has hope she can show Alessandro that she is more than her family’s bad decisions and enjoys the small wins when Alessandro gives her real moments she never saw coming. I had been waiting for Alessandro's story, and this did not disappoint. As the family's Don, he was closed off, unforgiving, and refused to show any weakness. He had been having trouble with the Bratva as well as other enemies, so Don Vitale, who had previously worked with the Bratva to take down Alessandro and failed, offered his daughter Isabella. The arranged marriage was supposed to form an alliance and peace between the two families, but Don Vitale had an ulterior motive. He wanted Isabella to spy on Alessandro so that he could defeat him and take over his business.
The situation did no go as planned for Don Vitale and Alessandro unfortunately didn't trust Isabella. However, Isabella was not a weak woman and stood up to Alessandro, forcing him to see her as a partner and not a pawn.

Have always love Ms. Williams story's and it's hard to pick a favorite, because each one gets better and better! I enjoyed this story, and in spite of the Wattpad style of paragraph spacing I thought the writing was good. However, I was really disappointed when at 92% the FMC (who had been manipulated, treated like absolute crap, rejected, accused of betrayal and kicked to the curb for her sadistic family to torture) just rolls over like a b*#€= in heat from a single conversation where the MMC FINALLY believes she isn’t a traitor. You’re telling me after countless heartaches at his hands, followed by starvation because he threw her away she doesn’t have any residual hesitancy towards the MMC? If we could have had a few scenes where she SLOWLY let him back in and made him prove his loyalty to her this book would have been fantastic.

This was such a gripping read and I loved the set up for Isabella to be seen as a pawn, when she ends up being such a force to be reconned with...and the heart of Alessandro. She really wanted to be seen as an equal within her arranged marriage to Alessandro, but when things went sideways, he chose to fall into old thinking habits and rejects her. Ha! This girl has no intention of not fighting for the life and future she wants. Expect to get caught up in the action, drama, danger, emotions, survival, strength, trust and hot romance when you dive into this one. It's a page turner and I can't wait for what's next by this author :D

Isabella is a young intelligent and feisty FMC and she finds out she is being married off to firm a so called alliance. She has no intention on being a mafia bride who becomes a shell of a woman like her mom. Alessandro is ruthless and doesn't want to be married and believes love is a weakness. Isabella's father and brother used her especially her brother. Their actions cause Alessandro to question Isabella loyalty and whether he could trust her. I loved his brothers and they were there when he needed him but also called him out on his behavior. Had some betrayal, spice, action, and loved the ending.

This is another great addition to Williams' Dante Dynasty series. Can easily be read as a standalone, this mafia romance is sure to captivate and please with is dark themes, steamy chemistry and so much more. Twists, turns and danger along with suspense and romance, our main characters Alessandro and Isabella are sure to captivate from start to finish in this will written addition to the series. I loved it and can't wait to see what's next from Williams!

I really enjoyed the writing style, and the female lead’s sass made her such a fun character to follow. The chemistry between the main characters was hot, hot, hot and definitely one of the highlights of the book.
My biggest issue was the pacing. The beginning felt a little too slow, while the ending wrapped up so quickly that it felt rushed.
Overall, it was a good read with engaging characters and great chemistry, even if the pacing didn’t quite work for me.

The author has given us a great story. And the storyline was so well done that you get completely sucked into the lives of Isabella and Alessandro. There is an attraction and chemistry between them, there is suspense, drama, action, danger, and plenty of excitement, and you read it so easily—that is how engrossed you are in their story.

I’ve enjoyed this series. However, I have not enjoyed the 300+ pages of “BookTok Pros” the series is written in. It’s exhausting and excruciating on the eyes to sustain this type of narrative at any length. I understand some natural “breaks” in traditional narratives and formats to bring attention to something or to build tension. But chapter upon chapter of this? Not sure what the author is trying to accomplish.

Alessandro is intense and as the family Don has the weight of the world on his shoulders, so when he is forced to marry the enemy it is in name only. Isabella has known what her role in the family is and has been trained to be the perfect mafia wife, but when Alessandro comes into her life she isn't ready for the intensity of her attraction. The pain of being enemies weigh heavily on them, it takes Alessandro pushing her away to see she is truly what he wants and needs.
