Allie Parsons is a single mother, struggling to raise a teenage daughter and keep her scars and past hidden. Her old life as a stripper has no pull, but even now her headstrong ways prove difficult to control. Allie suspects that Toro, a serial killer and her attacker, is still at large and most likely stalking her.

But obsessing over that helps nothing. She’s finished medical school and is training at the morgue, and with the help of both her beautiful daughter and patient pastor, she’s rebuilt a life. It isn’t perfect, but her faith and determination are strong.

However, her first case at the morgue keeps scratching at her old wounds, and she can’t explain why. The body is supposed to be millionaire Franz Bergman, but she has a hunch it’s a cover-up. Determined to prove her theory, Allie conducts an investigation that circles her right back into danger and darkness. As she draws closer to solving this mystery, a menacing stranger threatens her new life.

Allie must stand firm in her beliefs and rely on her strength and intuition to protect herself, her daughter, and the better future she’s working to achieve.

Toro! is the first medical thriller written by the author Frank C Schwalbe, the first book of Aliie Parsons series.

The thrill starts with an incident happened with Allie Parsons 9 years before, which tends to change the course of her life forever. The author has written about each and every character meticulously, making you read this book in one go until the end.

The story moves forward in an impeccable manner, showing the writing skills and the amount of research the author has put in. The character development and the narration go hand in hand and stand up to the mark.

What is a more attractive thing of this book is the way the author has shown the relation of Allie with her daughter Chrystal, and the way things between them gets complex, sometimes, simpler and thus making this story more beautiful as you read.

In the entire book, you don't find time to get bored, but you're kept hooked until the end, and as the author has left readers guessing what would be the next, this just makes the book more likable than ever.

It's a must read for everyone because it's not just a medical thriller, but a story between a mother and her daughter, a story of a drug addict, a story of a doctor, and lastly a story of a victim, who survived through all dangers and attacks.

I don't usually read thriller or mystery types of books but I got this book because Dr. Schwalbe spoke at an event for an association that I manage. He read a chapter from the book and it sounded very interesting so I took a chance and bought it, he even signed it for me. Once I started reading it, I was not able to put it down until I finished it.

I enjoyed how the story unfolded and I could connect with the characters. I definitely plan to purchase and read Minos when it is released. I won't give anything away but Minos is a different character in the book that I want to learn more about.

This is a must read book.

I found this to be an interesting page turner. I can't wait to read the next one. I chose this book since the author is from my hometown. The character development and the story were solid. e!

If you like mysteries and enjoy trying to solve them along with the author, then this book is for you.

Allie Parsons is the only surviving victim of a serial killer (Toro). She has a young teen-age daughter (Chrystal) and the two of them are trying very hard not to become victims again. Allie is also trying to find out just who Toro really is. You will meet a variety of characters - some good and some not at all good - really very bad. There are many twists and turns which really keep you guessing. I particularly liked the way the author writes - an easy and very enjoyable read.

I won this book on Goodreads and thank them very much for the chance to read it.

Allie Parsons is a young woman from who life's choices have left lasting scares. Some quite visible, some just below the surface. I found myself cheering for her victories and wanting to pick her up when down. Her murderous attacker, "Toro", has set his sights on the wrong person.

Looking forward to the next installment of Allie's journey.
