A Love-Love Match
She gave up Paris for duty. He left to pursue a tennis career. Six years later, fate gives them one chance to get it right.
When tragedy derails Lily’s dream internship at a prestigious Paris fashion house, she returns home to run her parents’ small-town pharmacy, settling into a life that feels safe but far from the future she once imagined—and from Jake, the childhood best friend who left six years ago without a goodbye. A spontaneous return to Paris pulls her back into a world she had to leave behind, where Jake is now the world’s number one tennis player and Lily is once again surrounded by runway shows, photo shoots, and the glamour that once defined her dreams.
With ambition and distance constantly tugging them in opposite directions, Lily and Jake attempt to untangle their past—only to be thwarted by packed schedules that refuse to pause for emotional clarity. Every time they get close to the truth, something pulls them away but the spark between them grows harder to ignore, challenging everything they thought they knew about each other.
A Love-Love Match is a heartfelt, swoony story of second chances, self-discovery, and taking emotional risks. Whether Lily will reclaim her place in the fashion world, whether Jake can loosen his grip on a carefully controlled career, and whether love can fit into the lives they’ve built apart is anyone’s guess—leaving their future thrillingly up in the air.

Oh my gosh, this was such a cute, romantic read! I flew through this book in less than 24 hours because Renée Valentine's writing completely drew me in. Between the Paris setting, tennis, second-chance romance, and two characters I genuinely loved together, I couldn't quit smiling while I was reading.
Lily was such a relatable FMC. She's creative, independent, athletic, and trying to figure out what she actually wants for her life while carrying the weight of expectations and not wanting to disappoint the people she loves. I loved watching her wrestle with the difference between following the path she thought she was supposed to take and allowing herself to dream about something more.
And Jake was so easy to love. He’s kind, confident, thoughtful, and I loved the history between them. Their romance felt sweet and natural, with great chemistry and so many adorable little moments.
I only wish the ending had given me a little more because I wasn’t ready for Lily and Jake’s story to be over! Such a fun, feel-good romance, and Renée Valentine is officially an auto-buy author for me.

This was such a cute, fun, yet also emotional story! I absolutely loved the chemistry & banter between Lily & Jake! Childhood friends to lovers with a little second chance feel! I loved the tennis aspect & the fashion side of this one! Definitely a unique story from others I’ve read!
After a miscommunication these two spend 6 years not talking or seeing each other, watching them rekindle their friendship & connection just made for such a sweet & heartfelt journey! This one also deals with talk of grief & putting your dreams on the back burner, but the way this all played out just made my heart so happy!
Definitely a cute, fun closed door romance if you love banter, chemistry, longing, and moments that will melt your heart! I would highly recommend this book!

This book was so much fun! I haven’t read a romcom with tennis or fashion yet, so this was really unique to me. I loved the banter and relationship development between Lily and Jake, and I don’t even typically choose childhood friends to lovers books - but this one was so well done! I definitely found myself giggling 🤭
But the character that tops is all is Lily’s cousin, Lemon. She’s hilarious and I love her entire vibe. I hope she gets her own book! 🫶🏻

This book was a super cute read! It was light, sweet, quick, and easy. Just what I needed!
This was my first tennis sports romance, and I really loved the combination of tennis and fashion with the Paris setting. It was such a fun combination and gave the story something a little different than what I usually read.
I also really appreciated that this is a spice-free romance. Sometimes I just need a good wholesome romance without the spice and this one delivered. The relationship is much more focused on the emotional connection between the characters, which worked really well for this story. I especially liked that Lily and Jake had a friendship and history before reconnecting years later. Their relationship had such a sweet, nostalgic quality to it because they already knew each other so well. I loved seeing them find their way back to each another.
I liked the themes of second chances, friendship, following your dreams, and figuring out what you really want in life. There were some really sweet and heartfelt moments between Lily and Jake that I enjoyed, and their history made their relationship feel especially meaningful.
Overall, A Love-Love Match was a cute, feel-good romance with a fun Paris setting, tennis, fashion, friendship, and second chances. Definitely a fun one if you’re looking for a low-spice romance that’s an easy, quick read!
Thank you to the author Renee Valentine for the gifted audiobook. As always, this review is my honest opinion.

Is six years too long for sparks to fly between Lily and Jake again?
They have been best friends since first grade, but they lose touch in high school after Jake ghosts her and his family moves away.
This was a sweet second chance romance set in Paris, and I loved seeing Lily rediscover her spark from fashion.
This was a romantic, funny, heartwarming story about the right person/ wrong time and finding yourself along the way.
Tropes:
Second chance
Friends to lovers
Dual timeline

Perfect time to read this with Wimbledon on. I may or may not have pictured Jake as Matteo Berrettini 😂 I really enjoyed this book. It has some of my favourite tropes of second chance romance / alternating timelines/ friends to lovers (like Every Summer After and Love and Other Words). I thought it was very sweet and I read it in a day 🩷

This was so much fun!! I sped through the book because it was so engaging and easy to read. I enjoyed Lily as a character, but sometimes the miscommunication really got me. Like girl spit it out already!!! Great debut novel and very enjoyable Parisian romance

This is a fun slow burn romance that left me wanting to know more about the characters! A quick, entertaining sports/fashion closed-door romance crossover! I loved the mention of the female main character as a pharmacist, which you don’t see often! Jake was swoon-worthy and Lil’s best friend, Lemon, was just what you dream of in a best friend! An overall fun read for anyone interest in friends to lovers, slow burn, fashion, Paris, and sports romance.

Satisfying slow burn!
Lily and Jake’s story was such a sweet, emotional friends-to-lovers romance with one of the longest slow burns I’ve ever read and it was completely worth it! ☺️
These two grew up together as young kids. After Lily’s dad introduced Jake to tennis as a kid and they became inseparable. All it took was one small miscommunication to lead to huge life altering decisions for both of them. They spent six years apart without speaking. 🤐 😬
Jake chased his dream of becoming a professional tennis player while Lily’s life took a different path than she imagined. She dreamed of becoming a fashion designer in Paris. Her goal was pharmaceutical degree first then fashion degree. However she suddenly lost her parents and inherited the family pharmacy. She had to put those dreams aside. 😞
When fate brings her to Paris to help her cousin photograph for a famous designer - she unexpectedly runs into Jake again. The longing from him was pouring off the page. Watching them reconnect after all those years was equal parts emotional and frustrating because every single time they tried to finally talk about what happened… they got interrupted. I was literally yelling at my book to JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER ALREADY.
This was such a sweet friends-to-lovers romance filled with longing and unresolved communication on how they felt made their story feel even more rewarding. I absolutely adored Jake and Lily together, loved the moment #”Lilydrop” happened 😆 ❤️ and finished this book with the biggest smile hoping for their very happy ever after.

Thank you, Renee, for sending me this book. I really enjoyed it!
I can’t believe this is a debut novel! It was very well done. The writing flowed beautifully, and I can’t wait to see what the author writes next.
This sweet, small town, friends to lovers romance is told through a dual timeline, following two childhood best friends who lose touch after high school before reconnecting six years later in Paris. I enjoyed seeing how their shared history shaped their reunion and how the past and present came together throughout the story.
If you enjoy friends to lovers romances, with a touch of small-town charm mixed with the magic of Paris, this is one to add to your TBR.
Thank you again to Renee for the opportunity to read and review this book.

"A Love - Love Match" ~ Renee Valentine
⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
"A Love-Love Match" by Renee Valentine served up the perfect blend of romance, humor, and heart. Set against the charming backdrop of Paris, this tennis-themed love story had all the ingredients for an entertaining escape.
The chemistry between the Lily and Jake was effortless, filled with witty banter, slow building tension, and plenty of swoon worthy moments. I loved watching their relationship evolve as they challenged each other both on and off the court as teens. Then add the Paris setting as adults, which added an extra layer of charm, making the story feel light, dreamy, and wonderfully immersive.
The lovable characters and feel good romance was perfect for me, as a reader of Thrillers and Horror normally.. This is the kind of book that left me smiling and kept me hooked through the entire book.
If you're looking for a sweet, flirty romcom with great chemistry, charming characters, and a touch of tennis, "A Love - Love Match" is definitely worth picking up. 🎾💕 #booktok #mustread #tiktokcontest #bookreview #romance

This was sooooo cute 🎾🩷 I loved the story and pacing of this book. The romance had me hooked! I didn’t want to stop turning the pages. When I wasn’t reading, I was excited to pick it up again!
Lemon and Lily’s friendship was so special. I loved how they rooted for each other in everything, whether it was personal issues, career choices, romance, or just a night out!
I’m usually not a sports romance girl and I ate this up! Loveeeeee Jake as an MMC. The tension between him and Lily was perfect.
Honorable mention that I’m from Pittsburgh, Paris is my bucket list trip, & my grandpa owned a pharmacy so I loved those little connections. 🤭
Looking forward to meeting more by this author!

A perfect feel-good escape!
I absolutely loved A Love-Love Match! This is such a cute, no-spice romance that still delivers all the heart and butterflies you want. I was hooked from the start by the dual timeline — the flashbacks to Lily and Jake’s childhood and high school years made their reconnection feel so earned and raised the emotional stakes perfectly. It’s a beautiful second-chance story done right.
The slow burn was chef’s kiss — so much longing and tension without ever feeling dragged out. I also adored the Paris setting. It made the whole book feel dreamy and romantic without being over-the-top.
And can we talk about Lemon (Lily’s cousin)? She stole every scene she was in with her humor — I’m seriously hoping she gets her own book!
This was just a warm, joyful read with a very satisfying HEA. If you’re looking for a light, feel-good romance with great characters and zero spice, this one is perfect. I’ll definitely be recommending it and can’t wait to read more from Renee Valentine!

Sweet, cute, and an EXTREME slow burn! No spice, just all the feels, great character development, and a romance that slowly pulls at your heartstrings.
If you love Katherine Center or Sarah Adams, add this one to your TBR!
My only critique was the audiobook narration…I would’ve loved more distinction between character voices and narration. But for the narrator’s first audiobook and the author’s debut novel, I was impressed! And yes… I’m absolutely reading Book 2!

This second-chance romance completely stole my heart. From the very first chapter, I was invested in these characters and the journey they had to take to find their way back to each other. Their history felt real, their pain was palpable, and watching them work through old wounds had me experiencing every emotion right alongside them.
This story made me smile through the sweet moments, shed a few tears during the heartbreaking ones, and ultimately left me with the biggest smile on my face. The chemistry between the characters never faded, and their growth throughout the book made their reunion feel so deserved and satisfying.
The author beautifully captured the idea that sometimes love isn't about finding someone new—it's about finding your way back to the person who has always held a piece of your heart. Emotional, hopeful, and incredibly heartwarming, this is a romance that will stay with me long after turning the final page. If you love second-chance romances that make you feel everything, this one is absolutely worth reading.

This book was so freaking cute and a great palate cleanser.
I really enjoyed the story line and loved Lily and Jake. It was a quick read and I was able to finish it in one sitting.
The only thing that I wish was a little different is that there was dual POV. I would have loved to hear certain scenes and situations from Jakes point of view.
This is my first book from this author, and it won't be my last!

This was such a fun read! Lily and Jake grew up best friends. Her dad even taught him to play tennis and the 2 kids ruled the court. While she grew up and followed responsibility, Jake grew up and onward with tennis career. Life situations separate them after high school, and the days turned into weeks, and years of distance between them. But now Fate decided it was time for them to be in the same place at the same time.
This story has all the feels through family tragedy, community love, and discovery.
This author also has a way of describing things that really made me see it!
I look forward to any future books.

The descriptions of the locations, I felt like I could see it! I cannot recommend this book enough! FANTASTIC read!!

As someone who doesn't usually reach for romance books, A Love-Love Match surprised me in the best way. While romance isn't my go-to genre, this story was genuinely cute, easy to get into, and had me smiling more than I expected.
The chemistry between the main characters felt sweet, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. The Paris setting and tennis backdrop added a fun, refreshing touch that made the story even more enjoyable. It wasn't overly dramatic, which I appreciated, and it was the perfect feel-good read.
The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because romance isn't my favorite genre, so I wasn't as emotionally invested as I might be with fantasy or thriller books. Even so, I had a great time reading it and can definitely see why romance fans would love it.
If you're looking for a lighthearted, charming romance with lovable characters and plenty of cute moments, I'd absolutely recommend giving this one a try!
