an age gap with a bratty FMC gonna do it for me every single time! taahesi don’t miss! i just love how she writes her FMCs. aurora was such a fun character to follow. she was unapologetically spoiled, sharp and witty.

i enjoyed rory and marlon’s banter so much. he really was trying to act like he could resist rory but like boy, be so for real! you too old to be playing like that.

now that twist had me looking at him kinda sideways but i followed rory’s lead and got over it because at the end of the day, he really is a good man!

i blew through this book in less than 24 hours and i already miss them.

“Tasty” is a grumpy x sunshine, forbidden romance, age gap story (older man, younger woman) with taboo elements and I don’t think it’ll be everyone’s cup of tea. With that being said, I enjoyed it ☺️

Marlon & Aurora, despite the 22 year old age difference, were very compatible. The moment they met I’m like yea this is going to be a good time lol Rory (Aurora) was so damn funny with her bratty ass. But I loved her growth as a character and her becoming this business savvy woman. Marlon was mean as hell but I loved how Rory went toe to toe with him lol

Chewy the dog and the horses were good side characters lol

Book could have went through another round of editing. Some minor grammatical errors.

I would’ve loved to see a flash back scene between Marlon and Rory’s mom Alice 👀 just for more context on their dynamic.

One of my book besties recommended this book to me, and after reading Strange Seduction I already know the writing style would be bomb so i of course had to dive into this book!

This was really really good. I really liked the background story more than the romance honestly, which was really interesting cause usually i am looking more for the romance than anything else, but honestly the vineyard plot points really had me hooked! Once we got to about 40% I finally started getting into the romance, and I was locked innnnn. I loved the dom and sub moment too- ABSOLUTELYYYYY!!!! I really liked that he was forced to grovel too at one point like Rory stood on business and yall know that is one of my fav things for a FMC to do. MAKE HIM CRUMBLEEEEEE!!!! ROC NATION YOU WILL FALL!!!!

I won't lie in the beginning it wasnt really my favorite, (had to let it cook) it read a little all over the place and some things just seemed too....coincidental for my liking. 24 and 50 was way too close to me and my parents age also so i was kinda fighting for my life with this age gap 😭. The ending also kind of...confused me? Cause Auroras dad randomly...? and then she decided to become a...? Like it just didnt really fit either one of their characters for me and left me with more questions than answers I'll be honest. Marlon was also too old to be acting how he was with the constant will i wont i thing. I understood his apprehension but like you grown and got one foot out the door sir chop chop gas it or die alone like idk 😭.

HOWEVAAAA! None of that really took away from how hooked I was into the story! I read this in legit not even a full day lol. I LIKEDDDDD!!! Very digestible book if you need a read to dive into with just enough drama to be like OOP!

Listen... I finished this in 24 hours, this book has all the things I love in a book! My jaw was on the floor the entire time while reading this because it has hilarious banter, funny and bratty fmc, messy dynamics, a mmc that does not play about the fmc, and then some! I truly could not put this book down to save my life, I was so invested with the story and with Marley and Bunny (I am obsessed with the nicknames lol) both of them truly had a tit for tat type of vibe and they also meshed so well together, even though their personalities are so so different, which made their clash of arguments that more entertaining! The banter was bantering omg! I was laughing out loud at the shenanigans that went down and also so intrigued with their spicy scenes! Marley's grumpy dominant strict personality was everything and more, I like himmm a lot! He did not play any games at all and ran a strict program, and Bunny's lively and live life on the edge bratty personality truly made the story that more interesting! I think the author did a stellar job with humanizing the characters as they are navigating a very fast paced change in each other lives, their backstories regarding familial tension was written in a way that not only provided context but created a space for the characters to grow and address things head on.
I loved that the setting is at a Winery / vineyard, the descriptive writing was perfect to describe the calming presence the winery brought to Marley and Bunny in their fast paced lives as they were navigating their relationship / feelings and the Winery changes / renovations. I love Bunny, she is funny and I loved her worth ethic and her drive to accomplish her goals on her own terms and by her own means without a man! She truly is a silent force to be reckoned with and I love her character so much. I really enjoyed this a lot and I like that the story kept me on my toes and kept my interests because I seriously did not predict any of the surprises that were revealed in the story!!

Marlon well he’s perfect (even when he was allegedly wrong…). My issue with his character was at the end. It was way too much of a drastic change for me. A mean broody touch me not kinda man turned simpy sorry lover boy. Ain’t no way lol

I appreciated the aspects of the winery/vineyard/business. It gave the story the much needed depth.
The ending was also pretty unexpected but cute

This was way spicier than I expected. There were a few moments where I was like, "Wait, hold UP now..." 😂 It really be those cute covers that get me everytime.

I loved the tension between the characters, the humor, and all the bickering. They had me rolling! Even Chewy, her little dog, had some cute moments in the story.

The age-gap part took some getting used to, but I enjoyed the author's writing so much that I still had a great time with this one.

Don’t let the cover fool you!

This is a dark, smutty age gap romance in which they do the NASTY. It’s not every chapter of the book, but when it happens, IT HAPPENS. lol Marlon becomes very possessive as the book progresses but I liked that Rory didn’t just take it to the chin. She was always going to be her inquisitive, spoiled, bratty self whether Marlon *secretly* liked it or not.

I must say, I wish authors take the time to proofread. There were a number of grammatical mistakes in this book that took me out of the story at times. Also, everybody felt very surface level…I didn’t find the characters to have much depth. So this book is a good for if you’re looking to read something smutty with forbidden romance elements.

I hesitate to review this book too low because there were parts I enjoyed and there were parts I know I would’ve loved if I found this book a few years ago but alas, that was then and this is now. What really didn’t work for me was how superficial everything felt. It completely lacked immersion. I was getting a brat/brat tamer dynamic and all that through the dialogue but I wasn’t getting much tension and chemistry in the story itself. Everyone felt like words on paper rather than real characters. None of the plot points or character dynamics felt lived in, many choices (like Marlon and Aurora waiting out the storm in the shed together instead of the other guy) felt downright nonsensical. I was also supremely disappointed by the sex scenes. No real depiction of how good either of them felt, what the sex was like, their breathing, smells, sensations, anything. Just absolutely nothing. He spanked her. Her eyes rolled back. She came a bunch or whatever. She passed out. If it weren’t for the moaning I would’ve never known anything was actually happening because it’s all played so mechanically. It was just 400 pages of being told things, rather than shown them. The book had promise and I could’ve really loved it but it was just…meh.

I have biases towards the tropes in this book that affect my review. I don’t mind age gaps, especially a 20-year difference, but I find it uncomfortable that the FMC is only 24. Her frontal lobes are underdeveloped, which makes it unsettling for me. So, she’s understandably immature. While I don’t mind unusual sexual relationships, having sex with a mother and daughter (not at the same time and decades apart) is a bit too extreme for me. Regarding this, I felt like the FMC forgave the MMC too quickly or decided to continue the relationship without proper guidance (ie therapist, priest, somebody, anybody). And what other reasonable response would a father have???
Let’s be honest, while I liked the MMC, his choices are questionable for a grown man, and therefore, are you really a good partner, Marlon? Additionally, I enjoy reading about BDSM, but there was one scene (the slapping) that I found excessive. I questioned whether it was truly consent. And, “Tasty”??? What’s tasty about this?

It’s not a bad read, but there are certain aspects that I find problematic. Would I recommend it…maybe. 🫣🫠

I swear every chapter Rory was trying to send Marlon into an early grave 🤣 the first time he called Chewy (her dog) a rat, I lost it.
Funny how in the end he was buying Chewy a bed and giving him scratches 👀

I loved Rory down bad. That girl knew what she wanted and didn’t give a damn. Marlon said no and immediately her thoughts went to “How can I turn that into a yes?”

I also really loved the fact that she proved to everyone that she in fact has a brilliant mind and knew how to use it. Like she said, “ɪ’ᴍ ɴᴏᴛ sᴛᴜᴘɪᴅ, ᴍᴀʀʟᴏɴ. ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴇxᴘᴇɴsɪᴠᴇ.”

Sidenote: Rory girl needs therapy - these men may have done more damage to her than she realizes 😞

This wasn’t just a billionaire romance it was tension, chemistry, family drama, and two stubborn people who kept pushing each other’s buttons. Every interaction felt like a ticking time bomb with these two and I was eating it up. The banter was too tier, and the slow burn wasn’t really that slow.

Marlon is the definition of “quiet but dangerous,” and Aurora is the chaos he never saw coming. Together, they’re explosive. I really enjoyed seeing Aurora boss up on him

I saw this book posted on threads and decided to read it. As soon as I realized who the author of this book, I knew it will be on demon time to an extent. If you read the Strange series by Taashesi B. Williams you already know what to expected.

An one night stand leads to the chaotic relationship of Marlon & Aurora. Unbeknownst to them, not only will they end up working together, but they’re tied to one another in more ways than one. There’s a decent amount of BDSM in this book so you have been warned.

Tasty really was a great kinky forbidden love romance and I ate it up! There were laughs, tear jerkers, and lot of times where i’m squeezing my legs together.

Aurora was thee perfect brat…spoiled brat! She tested Mr. S so bad he couldn’t help but to give her his collar. But was it that right decision??

Don’t hold off, it’s the perfect season to read Tasty. Definitely grab you a bottle of wine, kick your feet up and give this a read. You’ll absolutely love this one!!!

Tasty exceeded my expectations as a contemporary romance novel. From the very first page, I was captivated and couldn’t put it down. The book’s humor, memorable characters, complex dynamics, and unexpected twists kept me thoroughly entertained throughout.

Marlon Sinclair, a vintner and self-proclaimed social recluse, is tasked with mentoring Aurora Rodriguez, his business partner’s daughter, in preparing her to take over the family winery. What should have been a straightforward mentorship quickly becomes complicated by their shared history and undeniable chemistry. Marley and Bunny instantly became one of my favorite pairings. Their nicknames alone brought smiles to my face, but it was their dynamic that truly stole the show. They embodied a perfect tit-for-tat relationship, constantly challenging each other while effortlessly fitting together despite their vastly different personalities.

The banter in the book was exceptional. Every exchange was sharp, witty, and authentic, often leaving me laughing out loud. Aurora’s lively, impulsive, and delightfully bratty personality provided the perfect contrast to Marley’s grumpy, dominant, and highly disciplined nature. Their clashes were endlessly entertaining, and the chemistry between them was undeniable.

One of the strongest aspects of the novel is Williams’s ability to humanize her characters. I also loved the winery setting. Aurora was an especially memorable heroine. While she is undeniably funny and full of personality, what impressed me most was her work ethic and determination to succeed on her own terms. She refuses to rely on anyone else to define her success, making her a strong and inspiring character whose growth was rewarding to watch.

Perhaps my favorite part of Tasty was its ability to constantly surprise me. Just when I thought I knew where the story was headed, another revelation or unexpected twist kept me guessing. The pacing remained engaging throughout, and I stayed fully invested in both the romance and the characters' individual journeys.

Listennnnnnnn, I know the girlies are particular about age gap (it doesn't bother me in the ficitional world when written right) so this will not be everyone's cup of tea. With that being said, I had a time.

The story line is quite unrealistic given that Rory is 24 and she's being shipped off to your dad's best friend to get set straight. THIS piece, I truly said, okay Taahesi you're laying it on thick. Not to mention, that's your dads best friend but they've never met?! There's context on the why but it doesn't fully support it in my opinion. There's no photos of him in your family home? There's no social media posts with them together? This is probably the only piece of the plot line that seemed borderline delusional, but it is a fictional world sooooooo. For that, I did dock it.25.

This book is MESSY! What do you mean he slept with her mother and now her?! What do you mean her father shot him?!

But now, let's get to the smut and romance. The smut from the very beginning had me locked in. Who knew i'd love a pleasure dom and brat so much. i will say the book does a slight disservice to bdsm world because things don't feel as defined as they should be. It's not detrimental to my personal reading but i can see how someone might be thrown off from their initial interaction together. That scene with them in the cellar with the panties?!!!!!!!!!!!! I was GAGGED. and then for her to be with wyatt shortly after?! and he smells the sex?! diabolical work haha.

I truly did have a time. there's pieces of this that makes it hard to rank. Plot i would give 3.5. Smut/Romance i would give a 4.5.

Listen… this was my first book by this author and baby, what an introduction. Ms. Ma’am came out the gate swinging. Hog-tied spice, Dom/Sub vibes, age-gap romance, drama, secrets at the vineyard, plot twists… and even a lil pow pow situation 🤣😅

I was pulled in from the very beginning and stayed invested the entire ride.

Aurora and Marlon were a good time. Marlon was equal parts controlling, protective, and completely set in his ways, while Aurora refused to let him get comfortable. He had his rules and Aurora challenge every last one of them. Babygirl refused to fall in line and I loved that about her. Their dynamic kept me entertained because underneath all the power struggles and tension, you could see both of them slowly being pushed outside of their comfort zones.

And let me tell y’all something… every time I see that meme that says “they just be fawking in these books,” I laugh because we really do be learning too … cause why Taahesi had me stop reading and Google spreader bar so I could get a better visual of a scene? 🤭😭 I was not prepared, but I learned something! 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Tasty is worth adding to your TBR. Be sure to pair it with a nice glass of wine 🍷 so you can immerse yourself in Sucré Estates with these two!

This was okay

The story is well written. The premise is a bit of a stretch but they are for a lot of romance novels. The characters are well developed and nuanced. The spice was spicy but not gratuitous. And yet I only just liked this read and had to push myself to finish it.

My like-ing of the book is more so tied to my dislike of both MCs. The author wrote them in a way that I found genuinely disagreeable; I think that was on purpose. These were both very flawed individuals. Beyond my dislike of their personalities, this book showed me that I tend to dislike age-gap romances. In many age-gap romances there is a power imbalance that goes in hand with the gap. That power imbalance coupled with the MCs Dom & Sub relationship and the FMCs childish nature just didn’t sit well with me. And the FMC didn’t embrace any real agency in her relationship until you are deep in the book (like at the 75-80% mark). I didn’t like that but I embrace that this is me issue not a writing issue.

If you are into age-gap romances and BDSM, this book might suit you well. It’s not for me and that’s fine.

Here I go again, going into a book completely blind and somehow ending up LOVING it! 😂

Imagine being in town for business and making plans to meet up with your brother for a drink, only for him to stand you up. Instead of heading back to your hotel room, you decide to stay and have a drink alone.

Then, in walks a young, attractive woman holding a dog. She sits beside you, strikes up a conversation, and before you know it, the flirting begins. One thing leads to another, and y’all end up back in your hotel room. 😏 Let’s just say…some things happen that leave a lasting impression. 👀

She leaves, and you assume it’s just another one-night stand to add to the list. That is, until you meet up with your business partner and friend of 30 years the next day for a meeting. Your friend casually mentions that his daughter will be stopping by to pick something up.

And then she walks in.

Your one-night stand. 🫣

THAT is how we meet our MMC, Mr. Sinclair, and our FMC, Rory.

WHEW! And trust me, it only gets messier from here. 😂

They both play it cool, even though internally they’re probably screaming, “WTF?!” 😳 At the big business dinner, Rory tries to talk to Mr. Sinclair, but he brushes her off and tells her they can’t see each other again.

Well…Rory, being the spoiled brat that she is, does NOT like that response. So naturally, she decides to get her revenge. Only problem? That little get-back ends up coming back to bite her in the ass. 🤭

Rory and Mr. Sinclair are eventually forced to work together at the request of Rory’s father—and neither of them is exactly thrilled about it.

What follows is a deliciously messy trail of jealousy, lies, crossed boundaries, and undeniable chemistry. But somewhere in the middle of all that drama, something unexpectedly beautiful begins to grow.

it was good until it wasn't LOL. the age gap was already pushing it, but the added context of marlon being best friends with aurora's dad since they were kids + then it's revealed marlon slept with her mom before she passed away?!?!?! fucking on a mother and a daughter is insane?! aurora excused so much of what he revealed to her and despite her being 24, i felt like she acted like a 16 year old. the maturity and charisma that was present in the first 3 chapters eventually went out the window. the sex [bdsm themes] between them didn't even give passionate or immersive, it was giving wattpad smut and kinda weird but i digress. i was initially captivated by the cover of the book, thinking it was gonna be romantic; i didn't expect it to be so messy! aesthetically the book had a great foundation, but there was no depth or true merit to either of these characters or their romance. it was a good young ho read i guess.

This grumpy sunshine age gap romance had me in a CHOKEHOLD! Aurora is a brat in the best way…she pushes buttons, talks back, and still manages to make you root for her. And Marlon? That man is controlled, guarded, and acting like he didn’t fall first AND fall hardest.

Now Aurora’s daddy… whew. I wanted to reach through the pages. He forced her into the business just to watch her thrive...then tried to destroy everything the second she started doing it better than he expected. Bitter, closed-minded, and holding onto old hurt!

But Aurora? She did her BIG one. She stepped in, learned the business, and proved she could run circles around expectations. I loved watching her grow into herself even when everybody around her was trying to shrink her.And Marlon being all controlled and distant until he wasn’t? Yeah… I ate that up!

I thoroughly enjoyed Tasty from beginning to end. Aurora was a breath of fresh air. Slick tongued, witty, spoiled, bratty, and WHOLLY lovable. The comedic relief she brought to the story paired well with Marlon’s sharp edges & ruthless command. If there’s anything I love in a rom com, it’s the ACTUAL com. It was such a funny, refreshing read that I found myself giggling and kicking my feet at so many moments. At times the lack of consistency with verb tense became a little distracting, but the dialogue was so damn good, I found I couldn’t swipe to the next page quick enough.

Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend.

Forbidden Love Turned into Found Family

This romance absolutely nailed the progression. The quick build up between Aurora and Marlon felt natural, and their heated back-and-forth made every interaction worth the wait. Their forbidden relationship eventually blossomed into a beautiful found family story that was both emotionally heavy and incredibly soft.

The spice? Let’s just say Marlon was intense—an Olympic gold medalist in the bedroom, if you will. 🔥 Every intimate moment matched the emotional connection they built. And the escalation with Aurora’s father, Dillon, had me completely hooked. The drama, the tension, and the payoff made this an unforgettable romance with the perfect balance of heart, heat, and high stakes……with drinks in the mix of course.
