The King #1-3

The King Trilogy: Boxed Set

Rate this book
KING’S (Book 1):

“I am the man who can find anything or anyone. For a price. And my price is you.”

When Mia Turner’s brother goes missing in Mexico, while on an archaeological dig, she believes that life couldn’t get much worse. But when she’s blocked at every turn from finding answers, by both local and U.S. authorities, she must turn to a man she swears is the devil.

Others might be fooled by his private jet, fine tailored suits, and disarming smile, but Mia knows something dark, sinister, and unnatural lurks behind those penetrating, pale-gray eyes. And the more she learns, the more she realizes she may never be free again.

KING FOR A DAY (Book 2):

King isn’t who she thought. She wasn’t even close.

When Mia Turner’s life becomes tethered to a mysterious billionaire, who she swears is the devil himself, she knows she must break free. It doesn’t matter if everything about him—those sinful lips, those pale gray eyes, that perfect male body—keeps her awake at night. He’s evil. She has to get away.

But when this man, known simply as King, suddenly disappears, Mia will discover she’s not home free. Because without King, she’s no longer safe from his ruthless, depraved, power-hungry social circle.

To survive, Mia will have to conceal King’s absence and walk a mile in the evil man’s twisted, cruel shoes. What she discovers will leave her more terrified and her heart more conflicted than she ever imagined.

King is not who she thought. She wasn’t even close.

KING OF ME (Book 3):

“You’re asking me to…love you?” asked Mia.
He slowly scratched his thick black stubble. “I suppose I am.”

What if you were asked to love a dangerous man who betrayed you at every turn, who terrified you even in your sleep? Could you do it to save the people you hold dear?

Mia Turner is ready to give it all—her body, her heart, her soul—to the mysterious, ruthless billionaire who holds the cards to saving her family. But when this sinfully sexy man, simply known as King, demands something more, something horrifying, Mia will be forced to face the impossible truth about their lives.

Sometimes the truth brings salvation. And sometimes the truth breaks you.

The King Trilogy: Boxed Set is a set of books one through three of this series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. I loved this series and have also reviewed these books individually in more depth. Here I will try to give you a quicker description of each book.

Kings – Book one
In a desperate search for her missing brother, Mia Turner makes a deal with the devil, King. He is handsome beyond belief, but sinister, dark, mysterious, cruel and manipulative. He makes a deal with Mia. He will find her brother, and she must belong to him, for whatever he needs her for. She is forced to wonder, though, just what is King? Is he a human? Or is he a monster? We are also introduced to King’s friend, Mack, who plays an important part throughout this series!

king's mimi jean pamfiloff:

This book is a roller coaster full of twists and turns. I loved Mia and her toughness. No matter how scared she is, she stands up to King. She will do whatever it takes to save her brother. King is one of those characters that you want to dislike, but that you see that glimmer of something there, something redeemable.

King for a Day – Book two
King is missing. Mia has no idea where he is or even if he is still alive. One at a time, Mia finds clues that bring her closer to understanding King. And little by little, she puts the pieces together. Nothing is as she thought. Nothing at all! Mia has less than twenty four hours to try to complete all of King’s deals. Basically she is playing King for a day.

He doesn't wear a suit very often, but if he did, this is what he'd look like;):

The more Mia learns about King, the more her feelings change for him. Underneath that cold exterior, there is pain, lots of pain. Even with everything she has learned, though, she still has doubts as to whether she could ever really trust him.

This is a non-stop nail biter. We learn so many truths in this book. Everything finally starts to make sense. So buckle your seat belts for this one because it’s one wild ride.

King of Me – Book 3
This is one of those books that is so full of shocking surprises! King wants Mia. We’ve known that from the start. But why? Does he truly care for her or is she just the means to an end of his suffering? As they spend time together, Mia does see bits of that man deep inside that draws her to him, that man that cares, that loves. But she also sees the evil King, the cruel King.

woman on the balcony:

You’re not going to know who to believe, who to trust. The Mia we end up with is maybe a little bit tougher. Through all of it, she remains dedicated to the people she loves, her parents, her brother, and King.

All three of these books are nail biters, will keep you guessing at every turn. But you will also fall in love with these characters. As with all Mimi Jean books, you never know just where she is going to take you. But when you get there, always rest assured, you’re going to have a great time!!!

REVIEW FOR BOOK #1
King’s is everything it promised to be and more. It’s dark, mysterious and gritty with a touch of sensual and a dash of snarky humor that will prompt more questions than give answers and will leave you wanting more.
“Who or what was King besides a dangerous enigma?”

I really can’t answer that question, but I can tell you that the logical part of me wanted to hate that arrogant, sadistic, cold-hearted, controlling man with more barbaric shortcomings than I can mention just like Mia did. But just like her, there’s a part of me deep down in the recesses of my mind where not only do I like this dark man, I also feel there is something worthwhile in him.

And while my judgment in leading men maybe questionable regarding King, there isn’t any doubt that Mia is a heroine worth loving. Her love for Justin, her brother, and her parents is laudable. I admired her grit and tenacity, especially faced with the odds she was dealt. I liked her snark and the fact that she didn’t throw herself any pity parties.
“The fact was, it was my fault. I’d been allowing all this to go on. I’d been letting him get inside my head and control me.”

Overall, Mimi’s writing style is fluid and flawless, it’s engaging in a way that will make your heart race and will glue you to your seat until the very “To be continued…”

P.S. I really liked Mack, I LOVED that he’s “green”. I hope there’s a chance we’ll get to know him more.

I enjoyed this series it has the perfect blend of suspense, sexual tension, loved how Mia did this all for the love of family her little quirky things she did, and King was the perfect blend of Alpha grumpy and mysterious sexy man.
I could never figure out how the story would go....
Worth reading if you like PNR suspense,

This is not my usual type of book and although it was sometimes confusing I found I couldn't put it down. A good read in a quiet room.

A slow start but improved with time.

I am not one to leave a book unfinished, no matter how bad I think the book may be. Yet, with Mimi Jean Pamfiloff's "King's Trilogy" THE boxset, I came close to sending into archives numerous times. But I persevered, and in the end I was glad I persisted refusing to give up on this First-year writer.

In the beginning I found the plot confusing. I realized eventually that it was not a plot problem at all. My problem was I just couldn't figure out the main character, King. Was he a hero, a villain, or maybe a bit of both? And perhaps an even bigger problem was my profound dislike for King. As I persisted in my reading, I realized Mimi Jean Pamfiloff intended for readers to be discomfited and frustrated with King. Questioning King's motives was one of the reasons I overcame my initial reaction and refused to send "The King Trilogy" to my Kindle dungeon! I had to know what motivated him to be so arrogant and awful! It was a very effective set-up.

In short, King is one of those characters you will love to hate! He is both villainous and heroic, often within the same scene! He redeems himself many times and then without warning does something so heinous, I found myself exiting my Kindle before I was tempted to smash it against a hard surface! I railed against King, while like the heroine Mia Turner, I was also more than a little turned on by his dominant all male aura! The sparks that flew between King and Mia set these three books on fire. Their guilty pleasure, fueled the passion, action and steamy romance, that burned through the pages of all three books.

I am still not sure how to classify the King Trilogy. Is it an epic fantasy adventure like Tolkien's Lord of The Rings or Game of Thrones by George Martin? Or maybe, The King Trilogy fits the Paranormal romance genre better. The three novels have plenty of action, kidnappings, car chases, and battles against good and evil. There are numerous plot twists and "all is lost " moments designed to stop the heart of any reader! Yet, the King Trilogy has plenty of steamy, panty-melting love scenes to qualify it as a romance. And I can't deny that Mimi Jean Pamfiloff included a lot of magic and paranormal concepts in her storytelling. It was enough to keep me reading until the very last page, determined to satisfy my curiosity and answer all my lingering questions. In the end, isn't that what good fiction is all about? To me a good novel, captures my imagination, magically transporting me to another reality, allowing me to temporarily put aside my problems and anxieties, and relax. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff's The King Trilogy accomplished that and earned it's place on my bookshelf!

MUST READ. KING IS EVERYTHING 👑😍😍😍

King's #1
Even after all these years, reading this series again is such a delight and has made me fall in love all over again with Mia and King's story. There's is a completely unpredictable, totally adventurous ride that'll keep you guessing and on your toes.
Definitely a ride that'll have you hanging onto your seat. I devoured just as fast as the last time and totally didn't realise until I was upon the famous maddening cliffy. But this series is MY FAVORITE PLACE to be and I just love how mimi spins this fantástico magical stories taking you to places that are simply delight and filled with amazement. Loved loved loved King. That man.. Just.. Sigh!!!!!👑💗😘😘😍😍. Onto book 2. Yay!!! 💋💋💋

King for a Day #2
This is so much fun even reading this series all over again. Book 2 is more intense and I totally get the title now. Mia has to face a most difficult challenge when she's never even being a part of that world of king's. Also king is again king , all mysterious and yet charming and alluring at the same time. But in this book we finally get to know king a lot more about his past, his secrets, why he is the way he is. I love how the author has woven this story with suspense and secrets and that cliffy. dayuummmm!! Yay, onto book 3.💓💓💓💓

King of Me #3
WHAT A ROLLER-COASTER RIDE!!!!!! I'm so feeling a great high even after this being a reread of this series for me, I have once again gone and fallen in love all over again. Oh my.. Book 3 is just such a phenomenal climax slash finale sort of book in the series. So much happens, if the secrets and the surprises weren't enough then the completely unimaginable happens and oh my I was so scared and nervous about how this all would end. That ending though, oh my, I FREAKING LOVE THE WAY MIMI WRTIES, HER STORIES ARE JUST SO CRAZY AMAZING. I have once again all over again fallen for king and Mia. What I'm absolutely excited about is the two more books in this series. Also mimi recently has said that there'll be another King book. Yay!!! I'm all for more where king is concerned. Loved loved freaking loved this series. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

4.5 stars
Combining my reviews onto the boxset. I own the first book and the boxset as well as Mack and the 10 Club.

Kings
4.4 stars

I have no idea about what the hell is going on but I liked it. What is King? Is he the Devil, warlock, vampire, or what? He says he isn't but he is something. I'm amazed that there was no sex in this but good lord the close calls and the anticipation is killing me between him and Mia.

I'm hooked.
King for a Day
What type of sorcery is this?

This is a legitimate question. I have no idea what is truly going on and I still cannot quit turning the pages fast enough. I finally have the answer as to what King is but there is still so much to the story. How is this world even possible? Even with as much as I discovered in this book, it was just a little bit of the overall picture.

I am not even sure what this book sub-genre is. Is it paranormal? Kind of dark romance? Contemporary romance with supernatural elements? Whatever it is, I am 100% here for it. I cannot say that about many books that have had zero sex in it yet.

I read this as part of the trilogy boxset.
King of Me
4 stars
Hmmmph. I have been a huge fan of this trilogy but I have to be honest and say that this book was not my favorite. I struggled to keep track of the various timelines and often was lost on what was happening. However, there were some great moments that did keep the book at a four. The epilogue is the main reason.

Even though this was not my favorite, it did answer quite a few questions and, overall, ended the trilogy of King and Mia. Now it is Mack (that was a nice twist in this book) and his story.

The storyline and plot twists are what can we reading these books. They are not well written but they're also not poorly written. I just feel like the stories and characters could be developed more. Especially in the first book. I am generally not a huge fan of alpha male being overly domineering against women books. And originally the main character comes across as a rich abusive male. When he starts revealing powers I became more intrigued. Just like Mia I was convinced he was a demon. But he wasn't and that's when the author got me hooked enough to continue reading all three books. I wanted to see the story resolved and the characters come together. In the earlier books Mia's seer powers are revealed to be like visions of past or future. The time travel in the third book came out of nowhere and was a convenient plot twist to make the story happen. While I really liked the story she created with Mia in the past, some foreshadow of that ability would have been appreciated and not made it feel so contrived.

I’m not sure that I can say I enjoyed this read. It was very long and did not hold my attention but I was determined to complete it. I have to say the final 10% of this series was the most exciting, up until that point I was not too bothered about reading it. As characters King is an enigma, Mia bugged me but once you get toward the end all the bits and bobs come together. This story was too long and most of the writing was pointless and could have been achieved without boring me but the story had so much potential. This read has some very barbaric moments, a huge amount of angst, loss, heartache and raises serious issues of sexual assault. The last few chapters is where we see the romance and love, but it’s too little to cover the rest of the series. I’m glad I finished reading it but I’m not sure I’d recommend it so I’ll leave that to you to decide.

Slow at first but gets better

I felt like it too forever to get through book 1. But as I'm thinking about what to write for this review, it occurs to me that in book 1, Mia is in the dark, no idea what is happening or why. That's how I felt reading book 1. Books 2 & 3, the story moved more quickly. I'm glad I didn't give up before starting book 2. Just stick with it. So many twists, back tracking to reread a specific paragraph because I thought I over looked something.
This is my first series by this author and it's totally different from anything I've ever read. The reason for 4.5 stars is because of book 1. I probably won't read anything beyond book 3. I feel kinda drained emotionally after reading book 3 but I'm glad I actually read the trilogy instead of each book separately.

What a emotional story from the get go. There was never a dull moment and it had me guessing what would happen next and I couldn't put it down leading to the third instalment of king and mia and the struggles they face along the way and At one point I didn't know if things would get better. Mimi has a way of drawing you in to the story and having you fall in love with the character's along the way. I loved ever minute of Mia and kings story with the instant chemistry they shared between them and you couldn't help but want to love king and the struggle he went tho and I was rooting for him to get a happy ever after.

Good Spicy Read

The King Trilogy boxed set written by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff consists of the first three books in the King Series. These are the first books I have read by this Author, but they won't be the last. From the character building to the descriptive international world building, these stories held my attention from start to finish. The storyline is interesting and fast paced and include danger, adventures, mysteries, paranormal/occult elements, friendships, families and love as well as some very spicy scenes. I am looking forward to reading the fourth book of this series in the near future.

Wow, This Book Bundle was Great!!

I have had this book on my carousel for a while wasn't sure what to expect. I would read the reviews but they didn't help. So with the summer break I dove in and what a nice surprise. This book was awesome. The characters were well developed and the chemistry was strong. Books 1and 2 were heavy in the angst. I wasn't sure where the relationship was going and that kept me reading but book 3 delivered. I will buy tha next two books in this storyline even though you don't have to. But I liked it!!!!

Wow, that was one insane and glorious ride! It is a definite departure from the humorous books of hers I have read. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to be immersed and entertained by an entirely unpredictable thrill ride. I would love to say more without giving away the plot but honestly I don’t even know where to start. This is just something you need to experience for yourself and as Mimi would say, then feel like you need to smoke a cigarette. Give it a chance, trust me you’ll like it!

This series is crazy intense with an edge-of-your-seat, can't-put-it-down plot worthy of an adult Harry Potter type movie series! So much mystery and magic, lies and deceipt woven into one series. It had me mesmerized from the beginning of book #1 to the last page of book #5 - where I chose to stop due to the way I felt it sort of wrapped up. It seems this series could be never ending even though the plot felt more than accomplished at the end of book 5.

After reading the KING trilogy look for Mack (book #4), and then 10 CLUB (book #5). Be prepared that this series continues past #5.

Book 1: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

It's a little complicated with King being so mysterious and not really telling Mia anything but I was drawn into this one very easily. King has some strange abilities that intirgued me and despite him being a bit domineering I did like the thing he had going on with Mia.

Off to start book 2

Book 2: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very twisty again, this one. King is finally allowing Mia to see more of his history and Mia is finding herself more drawn to him than ever. But yet again, we have another twist that throws everything out of balance.

Off to start book 3.

Book 3: 🌟🌟🌟

Strangely, the backwards and forwards scenes in this one really out me off. I'm glad they finally got a HEA but it took a lot of messing around to get there.

Overall rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I recently read new books from Mimi Jean P. I remembered giving this trilogy a less-than-average score and I couldn’t remember why, so I re-read the first three instalments (i clearly recall that the last book was awful so I cut it off).
So...now that I’ve refreshed my mind, I can say that the first book was ok, the second was tolerable and the third was a mess. The idea was good but the characters are poorly written, the time-travelling confusing and the villains are ridiculous.

King

Oh my! This is one of the best trilogies I’ve ever read! I spent most of the time on the edge of my seat. One emotional rollercoaster after another. I wish I could forget the story and go back to reread it! I didn’t want it to end. As I got closer to the end, I found myself carefully reading each work so as not to miss a single thing!
I’d give this 100 stars if I could. I’m excited that there’s more to the series!

Can she find a way to save the good King?

Mia will do what she must to save King from the torment of his curse but it’s like she’s dealing with two different people. Which will she choose to save and at what price? Can a love last thousands of years waiting for salvation? What sacrifices must she make to reach him? A love story full of conflicts and surprises. A real page turner.

At first I wasn't so sure about these books when I started. I mean, who was this guy King anyway? He was acting suspicious and making Mia do things that I wanted to reach through the pages and grab her back! But, by the last book, I was behind King just as much as Mia was! Can't wait to read the next installment!

Omg! You kept me at the edge of my seat with this story! I walked around with book in hand. Jumped when the phone rang. This is a great series and a needed escape. I have loved your style since the "accidental" series. The characters and storyline are 3 dimensional. I can't wait to pick up your next series you go Mimi!

Different

Wow this set of books had me confused from beginning to almost the end. King was an odd character. Mia you just had to love her. I had the hardest time trying to figure out what was really going on. When I was in the third book it finally started making some sense. Wow this had to have been a hard series to write because it was confusing to read.

WOW! That was AWESOME! What a ride.... started out as your standard hot billionaire with a dark side story, but things quickly change from "hello, didn't see that coming", to "what the WHAT?!?".

It was great to read each instalment of this Trilogy back to back to get the full story of King and Mia.

This set contains descriptive love scenes.
