Another good read. Forewarned and Hugh continue to give the investigation their all

An easy and satisfying read. For readers of mysteries, both her series. ...this one and Gavin Downy series are worth the time to read. Clever plots and clever-er characters make for an engaging time recommended this book and all her books.

love these books

I love reading the exploits of Matthew and Hugh and the cast of familiar characters like Agatha,Berta and Jack.No matter how chaotic modern life is I can always escape back in time and for a while enjoy the daily life and work of this dedicated but somewhat curmudgeonly elderly man.

Cordwainer fading but still working well

Cordwainer fading but still up to snuff. Mentally sharp if weak of body. Hugh really coming along. Interesting and quite different story. Satisfying as always. Praying that Cordwainer is up to solving more crimes.

As always, Matthew Cordwainer stories are wonderful. I have read them all and look forward to the next one. In my humble opinion, this series would be easily adapted to television, maybe Acorn TV or Britbox. Who do I contact? ;-)

Another interesting story and a good mystery I always enjoyed historical setting and as I know York well I can picture the geography . Nothing this time on the coroners family so I missed that .even more detail on York and history of the times would be good

Enthralling

Once again Joyce Lionarons has scripted an unputdownable book. From beginning to end enthralling.

She brings the medieval age to life.

Old people are still interesting

I love Cordwainer mysteries. The determination of his crochety old personality is fun. I hope he continues on for ten more years.

I will continue buying and reading every Matthew Cordwainer book as long as the author continues writing them. Some are better than others but all are a good read — unfortunately, they’re too short! Hence, three stars instead of four.
