New Adult Romance author. Reading was my earliest passion, often seeking the sanctuary of my room or the library to read everything I could get my hands on. I penned romantic poetry in high school and was winning school awards for my short stories at 16. In college I would hibernate in the library for days at a time, consuming every short story and novel I could find.

I probably drink too much coffee and eat too much junk food, but to compensate do like running and rollerblading outdoors when the weather is nice. I'm a hopeful romantic who prefers stories with a happy ending. You can often find me in a library or coffee shop working on my next story, or with my nose in a book.

Designing Emma is a wonderfully written contemporary romance in the world of fashion. Emma, a bright, independent, and driven woman who goes after her dream of becoming a fashion designer. With her two best friends, Daniel and, Damion, they start a business, the Delacourt Designs. Despite her professional life being on the right course, her personal, not so much. Clarissa Carlyle tackles a delicate subject of addiction with style and its impact on our heroine's life. To help save her father, Emma will have to make some difficult choices, even make sacrifices. Then comes along Nick, a playboy and a mobsters son, yet he is so much more. Then there is Daniel, one of Emma's best friends and a potential love interest.

The storyline is super engaging with ups and downs, family bonds, heartbreak, romance, few twists, and plenty of drama. Clarissa Carlyle weaved a brilliant story, with appealing characters, capturing my attention from the start to the very end. Emma was such a fantastic character, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her journey.

Another excellent performance by Laurie West, she continues to a fantastic job with Clarissa Carlyle's characters, breathing life into them. Designing Emma was a highly enjoyable listen, one I'll strongly recommend.

I loved reading this series, Clarissa has such a way with words but the fact that you can get all six books as a collection is just even better. I found myself loving each and every minute, for those of you that have no clue what I'm on about then I suggest that you pick up either the books on their own or the whole boxset.

Emma has been waiting to achieve her dream for a long while, so when it becomes clear that after all the hard work that her and her two best friends Daniel and Damion have put into setting up her fashion company. However when it becomes clear that her father has been beaten up she knows that something is wrong and that her cause for celebration isn't meant to last for long. Her dreams are left shattered when she learns that her father has turned round and sold her so that he can be free of his debts, the fact that she has to marry this guys son she is left feeling horrified. However as we go through each of the books we discover a lot more and friendships seem to form. When reading this you will be drawn in from the beginning, I seriously recommend that you give this series a try. Each book that I have read of Clarissa's have always been amazing.

I absolutely loved this box set. The storyline was riveting and I loved the characters. I found myself constantly yelling at Emma and Daniel! So frustrating. I was also very suspicious of Nick. Overall, it was a very good romantic read. Highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Designing Emma: The Complete Series Box Set
By: Clarissa Carlyle
Narrated by: Laurie West
Series: Designing Emma, Book 1-6

Clarissa Carlyle writes books that keep you wanting more, so this box set is just what I was looking for! I could start to listen and keep going! Emma's story is fantastic. A woman chasing after her dream of being a fashion designer, she and her two best friends, Daniel and Damien are ready to start Delacourt Designs. But right away, there are hitches! Daniel and Emma are more than just friends and now her father has promised her to another. What happens next, you would never imagine! These characters take us through a journey of learning, friendship, self discovery and love. Emma is a character I could easily understand and relate to. She is ambitious, but leads with her heart. Damien is that friend who is by your side no matter what. With his bleeding heart, Emma knew she could always count on him. Daniel was my love-hate relationship. He is so frustrating! And the addition of Nick, with all of his sage advice is just genius. It's a fun, flirty, low angst, fantastic listen you surely do not want to miss.

Laurie West is a phenomenal narrator and she shines in this performance. Each character's voice fits perfectly to the personality and she uses her voice to give us the emotional tugs at our heart. She is amazing and I loved her interpretation of this box set.

This was a good read with a plot full of drunkenness and whoring. Emma's father reached rock bottom after spending his inheritance and remortgaging the family mansion and going into debt with a Mafia family and after being beaten up, agreed to marry Emma to the boss' son, Nick. Daniel, in love with Emma, gets mad and goes off to work in England, pulling out of the three-way company, Delacourt Designs, with Emma and their best friend Damien. Emma meets with Nick and gives him half of their new company in exchange for her father's life and debt. This turns out to be a good trade as Nick has taste and connections. He even buys the run-down mansion to redo as Delacourt Headquarters. Just as the Fall line is launched, Damien gets a call from Daniel saying his company wishes to launch the line in Europe. As the European representative, he takes Damien's place with Emma on a trip to Paris to get ideas for the spring line. They renew their relationship on the down-low. Nick helps Emma get a new apartment and they launch Delacourt Decor, a shabby chic line. As Daniel and Emma split yet again, Nick and Damien are always supporting and loving Emma as best friends. The story does have a HEA which I didn't expect, and everybody grows up and is redeemed from their sinful ways.

This is the story Of Emma Delacort going from riches to rags, and back to riches. It's about how 3 friends from prep school, stayed friends to start a clothing design company, but not without trials and difficulty.
Due to her father's drinking and gambling debts , he made an arrangement with unsavory character for payment in full.
Emma lost the love of her life after making an agreement with unlikely character to save her father's life. But also finds a very connected partner that helps Designs by Delecort to prosper.
There's love , anger, jealousy, lost love. learning to trust again. Making a new friend no matter who the family connection is. Clarissa Carlyle goes in depth with the emotions of each charater, their thoughts, emotions, their wants, and love.
Laurie West is a phenomenal narrator. Showing Emma at her strongest, weakest and most vulnerable moments. Her voices and personalities for each character made this story come alive! Her ability to transition from one character to the other is flawless. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

I'm one of those people who like to read a series from start to finish so this box set is perfect for me! Emma has dreamt of designing clothes her whole life. She and her best friends, Daniel and Damion have planned to reach that dream together...until things go horribly wrong. Emma's dad has been drowning his sorrows over the death of his wife for a decade - drinking and gambling away his days and nights... and Emma's future. There is plenty of drama to this story. At times I didn't care for Emma as a character for how she treated Damion, and for how she kept putting herself in the position to be hurt by Daniel, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Nick was a great character to add to the story - definitely more to that bad boy than meets the eye. In the end, the story played out well and I enjoyed it. There were just moments along the way that left me shaking my head. If you happen to get the individual titles, be prepared - each ends with a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed reading this series. I was given them for a review. This is the story of three friends from high school days after they have started their adult lives. Emma, Daniel and Damion dream of starting a company of their own, Delacourt Designs. But just as they begin relationships change and it looks as if all will fall apart. But the business moves forward as the relationships. The are ups and downs but all comes to a happy ending.
