Dreamland Junction #1

Conspiracies and Stuff

Rate this book
Murder, lies and little green men are just the beginning of a very bad day for Kat Parker.

By day, Kat works as a waitress at the town's only travel center - truck stop, by night she moonlights as an armature sleuth and paranormal investigator. Life is strange and often unpredictable, but she hasn't seen anything yet.

The once peaceful town of Dreamland Junction has been in chaos for weeks, and things are about to get a lot worse.

A handsome stranger walks into the ET Landing Café and orders a cup of coffee. Not so unusual, except that she's been seeing the stranger's face in her dreams for weeks, and they are those kinds of dreams that no one ever talks about; the kind that sends you into a cold shower in the wee hours of the morning.

To top that off, her best friend is convinced aliens are abducting him while he sleeps, not to mention a young mother is discovered dead off the side of the highway, and her five-year-old son is missing.

Warning: Dreamland Junction is not your everyday town, and Kat Parker is not your everyday girl. She has a bad attitude and a tendency to get herself into some very adult situations that some might find offensive.

Kendra loves theme parks, tropical islands, and the sea. When she isn’t busy writing her next adventure, she likes going to the drive-in movies with her kids, camping, long road trips, and watching The Walking Dead.
You might run into Kendra at Disneyland, or possibly New Orleans, especially around Halloween. She’ll probably be listening to Guns -n- Roses, and eating Gumbo. Slash is the best!

Short and strange

Alien conspiracies, abductions, pregnancies, and more populate this very short story. Just about the time I figured out who was who, the story ended. I kind of liked Kat, but most of the other characters were pretty flat. I'm also not sure whether I can get into an alien love interest ( which is the direction this seemed to be headed). The editing was good, but the story read a bit like a bunch of crazy random events strung together with very little cohesion. I was left pretty ambivalent.

I have been searching for an alien mystery and found this novella. It's creative and fun. It has Area 51, mysterious men, alien abductions, weird dreams, and peculiar pregnancies. The main character/sleuth is a likable waitress that runs a cool conspiracy website. Looking forward to reading the next installment.

Strange and Entertaining at the same time

I couldn't put the book down. I thought the storyline was strange and Funny at the same time. The main character is different but someone I can relate to. I plan to read the next book in this series.

Two stars just for the original setting that is different from most paranormal romance/paranormal cozy series. Unfortunately the unique setting couldn't save this book. The writing, the characters and the plot were all of very poor quality.
