Bride By Debt: A Dark Arranged Marriage Mafia Romance

My father offered me to a man everyone else fears
to settle debts that could ruin our family.

Luca Rossi rules his world with violence, power, and bloodstained control.
And he’s the last man I ever wanted.

Too bad my father already signed away my freedom.

I tried to run.
Instead, I ended up at the altar, saying vows that bound me to the monster himself.

I didn’t expect the way his eyes burn when they land on me.
Or how quickly my body betrays me whenever he gets too close.

My mind screams to hate him…
While every forbidden touch makes me want him even more.

Because beneath the violence and ruthless control is a dangerously obsessed man.
A king willing to burn cities to the ground for what belongs to him.

And the most dangerous part of all?
I’m starting to crave being his.

*** Bride By Debt is a dark arranged marriage mafia romance filled with obsession, forced proximity, scorching chemistry, and a dangerously possessive Mafia Don who will burn the world down for what belongs to him. Guaranteed HEA with no cliffhanger. 🖤

I’m really surprised by the current rating of 4.6. I got to only 19% and had to DNF. The inconsistency was too much for me.

Good with problems

Don't get me wrong, this book is an amazing read. The author has a great way at setting a scene and giving such description that you can see it in your mind. However, there are a lot of things that change through the book that shouldn't. For example, they start out in a big beautiful mansion near the sea, later in the book it turns into a penthouse. Or his henchman, Dante, is pouring her coffee, but then he's not even in the room and has to be called for. There's just some things that I can tell the editors didn't check or mark up as change. Chapter 14 literally starts on the same page as the chapter before. And then if you get to the end of that chapter there's chapter 14 again. I'm not sure if these things were caught or if they were ignored and that's why it's on Amazon Kindle unlimited. If you can get around those things, please give this a read! If you can't, and they bother you too much, go ahead and skip this one.

DNF 1.5 I assume those who gave this book a 4 or 5 are new to this genre and haven't read this storyline very often. This rating is based upon Mia's strong character that was in the first few chapters, not post accident when she became a doormat to another man who only wanted her family name so he could move up in society to further his Mafia. I got through about a third of the book and couldn't continue watching another female character lose all of her self-respect and identity to a man who didn't deserve it.

Mia and Luca's story is among how many arranged marriage releases in the last ten years? Too many to count. Some authors continued to write about this tired trope by successfully making their stories and characters unique and appealing while others seem to just revert to the same repetitious storyline. I like this author and have read several of their books, but Luca's character had no soul, or feelings, and Mia lost her defiance and strength after the car accident that Luca caused, which could have killed her; but no big deal. Mia's character started out strong, only to combust into a googly eye door mat that Luca's takes his anger out on. I lost so much respect for her character as she became another "cliché" in this storyline. A rich daddy sold her to save his skin from personal debts that he caused. Another stand up father in this genre who would sell his own soul in order to save himself. Mia was merely another acquisition to be bartered or sold when the time came. This is 2026 and I would hope that these authors begin moving on from what happened to characters in the 60's 70's and 80's and develop these stories to reflect real time.

This is the first book in a long time that I couldn't find one tiny bit of appeal in either character.. When you have been a reader in this genre for a long time, you definitely know how things end whether you finish a book or not, from all the other endings with the same storyline.

A Good Solid Read

A good read with all the tropes you’d expect from this genre. The FMC comes across initially as painfully naive but soon shapes up and shows that she has a spine. The MMC is cold, arrogant and detached until he gets a good look at her, he doesn’t turn into a marshmallow, not unless marshmallows carry weapons and smack down their enemies.

Some sloppy editing with part of a chapter being repeated, and a slip up on the housekeeper’s name but otherwise solid. My only comment on this trope is the hypocrisy about Human Trafficking. The MMC is against working with the Russians because in this book he states that they deal in the flesh trade. Which, hand on heart that’s an awesome stance to take buuuuut didn’t he just do exactly the same thing by forcing her into marriage?? Hmmmm. I really want an FMC to push back on this issue.

Very confusing writing, it’s started good but you can see the author failing with her grammar and the choice of words.
The big Mafia heartless guy is putty in her hands from the first moment and she melts in his arm from the first kiss, that is all okay but the grammar mistakes and repetitive writing is boring.
I have read the reviews someone stoped at 19% for the same reason and others didn’t finish.
But I’m going to finish the book and re review it again.
Oh my God the bullet in Luca’s shoulder is a funny story, I just can’t stop laughing, he tells Mia the bullet is close the bone and if it doesn’t get out her might lose functioning arm by damaging the nerve but the big Mafia guy don’t have a Doctor on retainer. So he have to preform a surgery on himself.
Finished the book and I want to rate it 1.5 it could have so much potential

Puzzled???

This is an amazing story that is absolutely cheapened by the very lousy proofreading. There are so many mistakes, of the wrong words , the wrong person's name, and worse of all chapter 14 is repeated!!!!!!! Ridiculous!!!! Things like Mia sees her father at the back of her wedding reception, holding a glass looking weak. But then in two or three sentences later he was never there. Mia dug the bullet out???? Or did her husband? You describe in detail him doing it why she watches, than he later recalls her digging in his flesh. Love the story, but you are better than this, You DESERVE better than this! Fire whoever did this to you, and get someone who has your back.!!!!!! Or your stories will always stay on the $.99 rack when they are good enough to be on the $50.00 front and center of every book store around!!!!

Editing please

The story started out interesting. However it was very distracting when so many pages were repeated, not just once but several times. These repeats broke the spell of the story so I started skimming through. I did not like that the MF gave in so easily when she hated MC and tried to run away. She didn't even last one day before she starts melting and begging. Then after they have sex she pouts and quits eating to save her Pride seriously she already gave in. There was some ridiculous situations a mafia man does not do surgery on himself. Most Mafia have on call doctors. I scrolled to the HEA and it was a little better. I won't be reading the next book it just did not hold my interest with all the mistakes and ridiculous situations.

Has potential

H: Luca Rossi
h: Mia Ashfords
After the passing of her mother and finding out her dad owes everyone where he might be killed or going to jail, her dad sold her for $10 million. I think this story had a lot of potential but there are mistakes that just take me out of the story. Having chapters added to the same chapter or where at the end of a chapter he will go to the bathroom and in the beginning of the next chapter, now he is still in the bathroom but with his cousin. This like that breaks my concentration or flow of this story. I stop at chapter 16 page 221 (45%)

This is the story of Luca and Mia. Luca is mafia and King in his own kingdom after moving away from his father and establishing his own empire. Mia is the daughter of a deeply flawed father who put himself into debt and sold his only daughter to save his life.

The plot was pretty predictable. This was my first book by this author and I read it through. It kept my interest. The writing was good, and I enjoyed the love story between the two. The lead characters were a good match for each other… Mia’s soft stubbornness to Lucas strengths and willingness to compromise for the woman he was coming to love. Pretty good book .

This book needs an editor

This is my first book by this author and I must say it was disappointing. There were just so many inconsistencies; one minute her father is at the wedding but on the next page, he didn’t bother to turn up. In the next chapter the main characters have a conversation but when he’s reflecting it seems they had a different one. On one page the FMC is terrified and the next she’s yelling at him. Super confusing and just made the book hard to read and even harder to enjoy. Sorry, wouldn’t recommend.

Luca the monster tamed by his Queen

This fantasy love story did not disappoint. Luca was a true knight from day one. Mia was an extremely strong woman for her young age. She stood by him thru it all. He had no choice but to fall madly and deeply in love with her. I highly recommend this read. The writer did a great job telling this story. My first read with them. It will not be my last.

Mafia Starter Pack

This is your typical arranged‑marriage mafia romance, and nothing in it feels fresh. If you’re particular about continuity, I’d skip it—one major character simply vanishes toward the end, which is maddening. The pacing also sags; my engagement tapered off so much that it took me days to get through. This wasn’t anything new or groundbreaking in the genre and, finally note this wasn’t a dark romance by any stretch of the imagination.

DNF at 40%. The FMC’s character was strong in the beginning, but the moment she gets dick downed for the first time ever, then suddenly she’s a freaking doormat and has feelings for her forced-marriage husband. Is there any arranged marriage Mafia or Bratva book where the FMC actually has a damn backbone?

Wonderful Book

I really enjoyed this book. He is a strong character, intense, I powerful leader. But he meets a wonderful woman who he softens and protects with his life, but still stays strong and is a true leader. This is a good love story, where the main character stays strong, and she is a beautiful woman. A truly powerful couple, great ending.

One less star

Its a good story. I overlooked a few inconsistencies and a few unrealistic situations, AND chapter 14 is printed twice entirely back to back inflating the page count.
I like rhis author's books, but they need better editing or proofreading.
That saud, I enjoyed it regardless.

Love

First Mia is "sold" to pay her fathers debts. But Luca is gorgeous and she has a hard time not seeing him for who he is. He thinks he is gaining a foothold into proper society little does be know that she will turn his life around.

good read, somebody needs to edit the material

Not bad, overall a decent read that I was entertained by. The problem I had was there was at least 2 sections that were essentially repeated words so I found my rereading the same section which threw me off.

This Story enthralled me from the beginning. These two Started out as A bargain or contract, There was brutality throughout, but It had to be part of the story To understand who Luca was. I'm in love with this story!

felt fresh for a mafia romance

Loved the MMC and FMC’s evolution and growth. Felt refreshing to have him find light in the darkness. I also liked the respect and care that the MMC had when interacting with the FMC. Dark and sweet like raspberry and dark chocolate.

Ohh!

Read this. It starts out with MMC whos extremely rough. So be prepared to hate him instantly! Slowly, very slowly he wins you over. Not because of some childhood sob story, which is usually the case, but he either changes or maybe it was underneath all the time.

I DNF at 25%. This could’ve been good but it REALLY should’ve been edited. I also felt like Mia had three different personalities even in the short amount I ended up reading. Is she running away or meek or yelling or obedient…? Like pick one please.

This book needs some heavy editing. Chapters were inconsistent, I ended up rereading a chapter that had started midway through the previous one.
