I'll be honest, I find anthologies extraordinarily hard to review. Part of it is that I read them over a period of time, generally a story or two in between novels to cleanse the reading palate. Part is that the quality of any given story is going to be variable, even in the best anthology. Theoretically the way to do it would be to review each story as you finish and have an over-arching review at the end. As a practical matter, I do not have time for that. Sometimes I can't keep up with reviews of novels.

So what do I have to say about this one? It's a good crime noir short story anthology. The stories are short and punchy and do the job that I want them to do...give me a little break between bigger reads. To the best of my recollection there weren't any stories here that I actively disliked. That's unusual. So good job to the editor and the various authors.
