I spent six years fighting the Omega Matching Agency so I'd never end up belonging to anyone.
Then I caught the scent of six strangers, and my designation made a liar out of me. Worse? The pack my Omega is screaming for was supposed to be my best friend's match.
Now I'm standing on a ranch in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by cowboys who are equal parts infuriating and irresistible. A pack leader who treats my arrival like a threat. A Beta with secrets. Twins who vie for my attention like it's a sport. A gentle giant who says more with silence than words. And a scarred cowboy who won't even look me in the eye.
I wasn't supposed to want this. I wasn't supposed to fall for any of them—let alone all of them.
But this pack has shadows. The kind that live in the spaces between what they say and what they don't, and the deeper I fall, the closer I get to a truth they've been burying long before I arrived.
But I'm a Cristenello, and I'm not afraid to get a little dirty. I've never been known to back down from a fight—or people worth fighting for.
I can't walk away. Not even when falling for this pack could cost me everything.
Even when they were never supposed to be mine.
Even If They're Mine is the first book in a reverse harem (MFMMMMM) Omegaverse duet. This book ends on a cliffhanger. It features six swoon-worthy cowboys, small-town ranch life, a fierce FMC who takes no prisoners, forced proximity, he falls first (x6), nesting, knotting, and enough steam to fog up every window in the Omega suite. No choosing, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA at the end of the duology!
Harper Wylde is a bestselling paranormal romance and urban fantasy author who lives in the countryside of Pennsylvania. As a wife and mother of three young children, she spends her days chasing after little ones and making notes all around her house about magical worlds, strong heroines, and the men who would do anything to protect them. When she’s not writing, she can often be found curled up with a good book, binge watching reruns of The Vampire Diaries, or gaming with her boys.
We are told that Julia (24) is an omega who fights against the omega registry agency, but it's not clear how, since she is registered and has gone through the matching service and all the meet and greets, etc. She's never met her match, however.
She goes with her BFF Addy as emotional support while Addy sniffs some scent cards, and it's Julia who ends up being their full scent match. She agrees to go out to their ranch to meet them, with the caveat that she may call her family to help her leave, because she's skeptical it will work out.
Addy was also a compatible match, but not a true mate. Addy's upset and is not talking to Julia anymore.
The 5 guys are: Gideon the Beta; Stetson the pack leader: August Boone, a giant of a man who loves to cook; Ransom and River are twins; and Colt is the quiet one.
Gideon meets her at the airport, and it turns out that he sent the scent cards to the agency without the others knowing. When she gets to the ranch, the others are shocked but happy. Except Colt, who has some kind of dead wife or something nobody mentions.
But then 2 kids come home from their grandma's house the next morning, and Julia isn't bothered at all at the prospect of being a stepmother to the kids she didn't know about, so that made no sense at all. And this kid has the fucking nerve to ask "Are you gonna leave like my mom?" Come on, someone needs to take this kid to therapy. She met them literally yesterday, kid, chill out. 🙄
So it turns out that Wyatt (7) is the product of a relationship Stetson had before the pack formed, and the mother left after Wyatt was born. The other kid Sunny (3) is the product of a ONS with the twins, apparently they had a threesome, then the woman just dropped a baby off 9 months later.
So they start courting Julia and taking her out on dates and stuff, except for Colt who avoids her like the plague because of the dead wife (or whatever) they still haven't told her about, so she has no idea why he rejects her.
Then she finally gets a text from Addy, which again has them all worried that she'll leave them, because she starts acting"off."
I'm sorry, this is just boring. Nothing's really happening in this story. It's very skimable. DNF
Look. The pack is very sweet and I absolutely love why choose with no MM and large harem. But why does a pack with two kids from two different baby mamas get an inexperienced 24 year old essentially virgin (FMC has only used toys, never been with another person) rare omega? Like what in the purity culture is this?
This book pulled me in immediately. I loved all the different aspects of this book. The small town romance, the scent matched pack, with a great mix of alphas and a well-meaning beta.
Julia feels horrible when she discovers that her best friend's potential pack is actually her scent match. She feels guilty for stealing away her friend's dream. But when she finds out that they didn't even know about her or that she was coming.
I loved all the little surprises that filled this story and I love getting a book that gives all-the-feelings vibe. The pace was well done and I liked seeing each relationship develope in it own time.
Now I just need the second book! That cliffhanger had me scrambling to see if the second part had been released. And... now the wait is on.
DNF 31%. Bad writing. It’s a bit much. Over dramatic reactions and then responses of just as much drama. Chill!
We get informed of every minute shift in their scents. It’s the first time I realized how much the day-to-day of an Omegaverse would be a nightmare. She’s bitter cherries! Now, she’s fig pie!
Compounded with having to know what the hell vetiver is??
It’s the second omegaverse in a row I’ve read with an FMC who smells like that.
I couldn’t even begin to guess what vetiver is, and at this point, I’m too afraid to ask. Sure, I’ve checked the internet, but it’s just words; I need a whiff.
These guys should be perfume makers. Seriously. They pick up neroli on the wind? Get outta here.
Anyway. It’s just a lot. Very soap opera-y reactions and descriptions of things.
Everyone’s expression is followed by an explanation of the unspoken intention behind it.
The content lacks maturity, realism, and sense. But, if you distance yourself from things like ‘standards,’ it’s good for what it is.
It’s just like: “‘Eat up,’ he grunted, his deep voice rumbling through the quiet room.” *then* “Stetson rumbled, the authority in his gravelly voice pressing down on all of us.”
Nobody just talks! It’s all rumbles and gravel. It’s like a damn rockslide in there, plus tedious pebbles of paragraphs between each overdone dialogue.
I had to skim some or I’d die of secondhand embarrassment or cringe. I couldn’t decide which.
I also couldn’t reconcile a single choice this author made. Writing style, plot, character additions. None.
The guys leave her alone for a whole week. ?? We don’t have time for this.
The men wear their hats inside like cowboy cartoon characters. Actually, even doodles would know that’s impolite.
I didn’t like that the FMC labeled the women in the men’s past to be ‘shitty’ for their decisions. They did the best they could in the circumstances they were literally thrust into, and wouldn’t have been in that position if the men were more careful with their… expenditures.
The women obviously weren’t prepared for that fate, and that’s fine. Men do it all the time. Anyway.
The premise had promise but I couldn’t take it anymore. I’m on vacation and knew I was done when I frowned at a laughing gull who seemed to be mocking my misery.
So reading the previous books if you were like me you wouldnt believe we where getting us some hot azz Alpha cowboys. I liked every bit. It was a slow burn tho. But Julia did pmo at the end like why the hell you keep using this scent blocking lotion if it doesn’t last long and at a damn stadium at that? Come onnnnn!!!! I can’t wait to see what happens next hopefully the author releases the next book soon.
This was cute. Definitely better than the others in the series. I did enjoy the characters, though we only got quick glimpses beneath the surface of each. The plot is just them getting to know each other and working past their struggles, which for the most part, worked alright for this one. Definitely kept me wanting to read. But of a doozy cliffhanger.
I love sweet romance books and was looking for one with all parties willing. There’s some push back from one character but ultimately they were all working towards being together. A lot of different emotions were explored in this book which gave it a lot of depth and It does end on a cliff hanger, so I will be keeping a lookout for part 2!
A well written story with an emotionally driven storyline that had me engaged in rooting for their happy ending from the moment she met them. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Big fan! I liked the flow of the story, easy to follow. Julia is a badass who doesn’t apologize. Her 6 mates are perfect. I do wish there was some like end goal to the plot but it was captivating and was an enjoyable read. I need part 2.
Ok this book ending on a cliff hanger is the most disturbing thing I have ever had to tldeal with. I love Jules as an omega and all the guys in the pack.
I loved this story and can't wait for the next book!!
She has been at the omega center for a number of years - not intending to really find a pack when she accidentally scents this group of guys. They have some brokenness but I loved watching them open up and grow. And the kids!! So sweet!!
That cliffhanger though!!! And what will happen with her friend??
Nicely written. I was fully engaged in the story. I did read the other series before this which I do suggest to get a better understanding of the world Julia comes from and of her and her life before this book, it really does help explain her character and a lot more of the backstreet or you are just going to be left hanging. The characters are well developed. But I hate not know that the next book is not out and that there is no time frame for it. Enjoy the writing but start with the first series is my suggestion.
Julia just wanted to support her best friend. She didn't expect to scent match to the pack she was trying out. Now, she's in Wyoming with her new Beta finding out that the rest of them don't know she's coming... what's next? First of all, this is an incomplete duet aas of this post. I didn’t know this as I was crying at the cliffhanger! Anyways. She may not have wanted a pack, but she is the best thing for all of them! This had me laughing, crying, blushing and kicking my feet. I was also cheering her on as she put some nosy Nellie's and gross Alphas in their place. I look forward to seeing where this story goes!
Wow, just...Wow! I'm an voracious reader who enjoys reading many genres and authors. I rarely take the time to write reviews. However this book and storyline moved me so much, I had to make an exception. I love how strong & sassy the FMC is and how she interacts with the children and her men. But how this author wrote the male characters moved me to tears several times. I especially loved the parts about Easton and how that was foreshadowed. I CAN'T wait for book two to arrive. Highly recommend!
This was another amazing book in this series and the ending has left me dying to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for the next book to release. I loved the story and the characters. I found that I struggled to put the book down. I would highly recommend giving it a read.
