this book was just unbelievable (no, like in a literal sense)

1. the introduction - it went on for pages and pages, it described and summarized everything, i feel like i'd pretty much read the entire book by the time i'd finished reading the intro.

2. the evidence - gosh the evidence was so weak. everything quoted was from a bunch of obscure books and articles, written by a bunch of obscure, semi-professional dudes, and everything was so subjective and biased and unreliable. one source was literally from the 1900s by unknown authors.

3. the structure - each point basically consists of long blocks of quotes by random priests and professors, there was barely anything written by the authors themselves. also, i feel like the link between arguments and the thesis could be stronger.

this just made the book's argument entirely not convincing, i was calling bs after chapter 1

and here i never thought i'd be dnfing a book bc its argument is too trash ✨ but i gotta admit the premise was really interesting...just sucks that it sucks 🤷‍♀️

A Lens through which We See Man’s Rebellious Response to the Plan of the LORD God

It is the greatest riddle in the Bible. It is also the key insight conveying the context of the whole message of the scripture. What am I talking about? Mystery Babylon. What is Mystery Babylon? Why does the Bible call it, Mystery Babylon? When did this “cosmic colossus” appear? Does it still exist today? Will it exist again in the future? How does it relate to the Kingdom of God? What does it tell us about where we are in the prophetic timeline of events soon coming to pass on the earth?
A new book, The Babylon Code: Solving the Bible’s Greatest End-times Mystery (Faith Words) by eschatology pundit Paul McGuire and award-winning and Pulitzer Prize nominated journalist Troy Anderson, delves into these questions with an earnestness and candor that few prominent persons teaching today about eschatology are willing to attempt. In short, The Babylon Code seeks answers to the issues raised above by zeroing in on the riddle of “Mystery, Babylon”. They more than do the questions justice in their comprehensive investigation and in depth analysis.
I had the pleasure of spending two days with Paul McGuire during the week of October 19, 2015. The occasion was to interview Paul extensively on behalf of the ministry of Prophecy in the News. Regular host Kevin Clarkson was called out of town unexpectedly and requested I substi-tute as they were “in a pinch”. It was a much-appreciated summons for me for several reasons. One of those was just to get the opportunity to spend time with Paul McGuire. I knew Paul casu-ally from previous conferences where we had shared a podium. I soon discovered however, that Paul and I are kindred spirits on so many levels. Having myself written extensively on Mystery Babylon in several of my books, we had some deep discussions during our taping four, 28-minute programs that will air during the months of November and December (they will also be viewable at the Prophecy in the News website, www.prophecyinthenews.com a bit after their respective television runs across the country).
I also communicated with Troy Anderson during Paul’s visit. I know Troy from several phone conversations we’ve had. Troy interviewed me extensively for The Babylon Code over a year ago and quoted my words from the interview numerous times in the book, along with citations from two of my books Lying Wonders of the Red Planet and The Final Babylon, I co-wrote with Douglas W. Krieger and Dene McGriff. I was one of over 100 interviews Troy carried out. One of the sty-listic features of the book has to do with Troy incorporating his investigative journalistic skills, along with scores of quotations from many different sources, those friendly to the Bible’s eschatological point of view as well as other experts who are highly regarded in their respective fields, but not necessarily favorable toward a biblical perspective. The Babylon Code, whether dealing with “friend or foe” treats all its sources fairly and from my personal example, accurately.

How The Babylon Code Affirms that Mystery Babylon’s Disclosure Is Not So Speculative

Here is a synopsis of The Babylon Code referencing Paul’s and Troy’s words from the beginning of the book:
“Prophetic enigma that begins in Genesis at the Tower of Babel and ends in Revelation with the Battle of Armageddon. The prediction involves “Mystery, Babylon”—the Bible’s great end times riddle—and reveals how an elite group of wealthy globalists and their interlocking network of translational corporations, international banks, government agencies, think tanks, foundations and secret societies are working to create a global government, cashless society and universal re-ligion as predicted in Scripture” (pp. 1-2)
The authors then go on to ask two poignant questions:
1. Is it possible that God embedded a code in the Bible that could only be cracked in the end times?
2. What if by decoding this prophetic cryptogram we could unlock the secret to both our salva-tion and our survival?
Readers will ultimately have to decide for themselves whether Paul and Troy deliver the goods on answering these questions; however, there is no debating that they attempt to do so with a “no holds barred” approach that easily takes them into the deep waters of conspira-cy theories as well as alarming assertions contained within the many citations and their “tell-ing it like it is” analysis. We will discern their direct approach even in this book review.
One aspect that struck me early on in the book is that their assessment aligns with many Americans. In some respects, despite the astounding revelations and somewhat unconven-tional contentions made in the pages of The Babylon Code, the book’s main theses resonate with what scientific polls demonstrate a major portion of conservative American citizens be-lieve to be true. Here are some of those surprising numbers:
1. 4 in 10 Americans and 77 percent of evangelical Christians believe the “world is now living in the biblical end times”.
2. 80 percent of Americans fear a second holocaust in Israel and 68 percent fear a “nuclear holo-caust” in the U.S. while 84 percent of Americans fear ISIS will soon launch terrorist attacks in-side the U.S.
3. Meanwhile, 28 percent of American voters believe a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is working to create an authoritarian world government. 40 percent of Republicans agree.
4. 19 percent of Americans believe secret societies such as Yale’s Skull and Bones produce Amer-ican and political and financial leaders to serve the wealthy elite.
5. 17 percent of voters think a group of world bankers is slowing eliminating paper currency to create a cashless society and global economic system.

Apparently, despite what the oft-vocal critics may say, conspiracy theorists constitute a large section of American society. Personally, I would speculate that embedded in these numbers is a deep-seated cynicism regarding politicians not telling us the truth and disingenuously “seeking out our best interests”. Truly, this state of affairs constitutes the greatest tragedy in the politi-cal establishment of our day – and it is made far worse by the unwillingness of congressional leadership to “call a spade a spade”, demand dramatic reform in term limits, and establish bet-ter regulations for political donations. Career politicians and how they are elected, more often than not, constitute the bane of our American system.
In like manner, the foundation of The Babylon Code nails down a number of uncomfortable facts that also underscore why we are living in unparalleled times. McGuire’s and Anderson’s litany of admitted realities (just like the polling numbers cited earlier), adds considerable weight to the book’s argument that we must grapple with the meaning of Mystery, Babylon without delay:

1. Nations drown in unparalleled debt.
2. Fears of hyperinflation and economic collapse.
3. Growing Russian/American tensions.
4. ISIS’ warnings to the West that they intend to bring about Armageddon for the non-Islamic world.
5. Iran may already have nuclear weapons and may use them against Israel or the U.S.
6. The World Economic Forum indicates that unprecedented natural disasters, e.g., global drought, mega-earthquakes, tsunamis, the Yellowstone super-volcano… are real threats.
7. Solar Storms intensifying weather systems like (F5) tornadoes and category five hurricanes.
8. Massive food and water shortages.

During our interview, I brought these points out and then asked Paul if he really believed that “times are tougher” now and that we really are perched on the precipice of the apocalypse. The response he fired back was very much on point. Paul indicated that the real difference is today’s technology, how fast decisions are made and how far-reaching those choices are, whether we are dealing with the matter of a cashless society and economic control, the vast effects of weapons of mass destruction, and the efficacy (or lack thereof) of measures to deter massive epidemics. Moreover, when one considers the recent disclosures regarding the NSA and its “invasion of privacy,” the reality of “Big Brother” watching us is no longer Orwellian fiction. We are living the nightmare today in the name of protecting society from terrorism. Other topics such as the coming of Ray Kurzweil’s “singularity” and covert advances in so-called transhumanism also threaten the sovereignty of the individual and the sanctity of the human race. In short, the “imminent great extinction event” now discussed by scientists, short of a biblical rescue via the Second Coming of Christ, comprises an outcome that the odds seem to favor. Armageddon is more than a biblical allusion to the book of Revelation and a literal valley in northern Israel. It is frequent metaphor representing our dismal near-term future employed by many intellectuals in our day.
Enumerating the Incarnations of Babylon

To understand the essence of Mystery, Babylon, one does indeed need to break the code. So much of the encryption used by John the Revelator (whom I believe was John the Apostle), employs the symbols and images used by the Prophets of God prior to the time of Jesus Christ. In fact, this is the first place where the authors quote yours truly. Last year, Troy and I discussed the meaning of the term mystery in the Bible and I pointed out it is used in many different places, often to underscore the importance of and the relation to a great truth not previously disclosed by God to his people until He deemed the time was right (e.g., mysterion is applied to the gospel of Jesus Christ, the rapture of the people of God, the coming lawless-ness of the Antichrist, and the great empire of the end times). Regarding the implications about using mysterion to distinguish the third and final form of the empire of Babylon, i.e., “Mystery” Babylon, I am quoted in The Babylon Code as follows:

“(Mysterion was connected to) gnosis, and it is secret knowledge that only the initiated can know… The Apostle John uses the term to suggest it’s not an obvious truth. It seems to be somewhat hidden and so it takes some searching—it takes some degree of initia-tion, if you will—to understand. Like most mysteries in the Book of Revelation, the mysteries are basically broken; the code is broken—as my mamma would say—‘If you know your Old Testament.’” (pp. 37-38)
But another crucial way to get up to speed on what Mystery, Babylon comprises is to grasp the essentials about the previous Babylons of the Bible.
Indeed, the book spends considerable space dealing with the pictures of two previous Baby-lon’s and what they teach us about “Mystery, Babylon.” The first was the Babylon of Nimrod, the infamous world leader who built the Tower of Babel (circa 2,000 B.C. but perhaps long before this time). The second was the Babylon of Nebuchadnezzar II, the King of Babylon featured in the Book of Daniel (circa 600 B.C). In both cases, one of the signature features of Babylonian society was its occult nature.
Anderson and McGuire state:
‘Mystery, Babylon’ was a secret system of knowledge that an ancient ruler named Nimrod tapped into when he built the Tower of babel and Ancient Babylon. Under Nimrod’s rule, ancient man be-lieved that the human race could survive and prosper by creating a worldwide government, econ-omy and religion.
Babylon was ruled by a secret society known as ‘Mystery, Babylon.’ Under this system mankind believed that it could accomplish anything and become gods. (p. 13, emphasis added)

Indeed, a crucial aspect of these Babylons was the fact that they comprised not one but three important attributes. As my co-authors and I pointed out in The Final Babylon, the Revelation of John states this plainly: “that great city is split into three parts” (Revelation 16:19).

First, its preeminent attribute is the religious system that originated much of the world’s occult or “mystery” religions, later taught in secret societies as passed down through the ages (notoriously practiced in Rosicrucianism, Illuminism, and even today at least in part in most forms of Freemasonry).

Secondly, there was the characteristic of a sophisticated economic system. The notion of money was invented, as was mathematics as a means to manipulate not just measure reali-ty. (Numerology, the decimal system – “base 10” vs. “base 12” as used by the Hebrews – and the occult meaning of various numbers in fact began in Babylon). The authors indicate, “that despite the judgment against the Tower of Babel, the dark occult teachings of Mystery, Babylon were passed on from generation to generation through secret occult societies that arose in Egypt, Rome, China, South America and even America.” (p. 13) In other words, the lasting legacy of Babylon includes the occult teachings intrinsic to Theosophy and today’s New Age movement. This religion went global at the beginnings of recorded civilization.

Thirdly, Babylon was characterized by political and military power enabling Babylon to be-come an empire of exalted stature. We know that from the sixth century to the first century BC, the great city of Babylon was the capital of many empires: Babylon itself was the first, the Medes-and-Persian empire that conquered Babylon the night when Belshazzar saw “the writing on the wall” was the second, and the empire of Alexander the Great and the Seleu-cid empire which followed (the Persian kingdom of the Macedonian dynasty that followed Alexander in the Hellenistic eastern empire) was the third consecutive empire laying claim to the city of Babylon as it capital. Remember also that the writers of the New Testament referred to Rome as Babylon in the New Testament, even after Rome swallowed up and ex-tinguished the Greek empire (but not its culture – as we call the amalgamation of Rome and Greece the Greco-Roman empire). However, Babylon itself, biblically speaking, refers to the “kingdoms of this world” that oppose the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ. Babylon is the City of Humankind while Jerusalem is the Holy City, the City of God.

The Babylon Code goes on to state where this is all headed:
Today, for the first time in history since Genesis 11 and the Tower of Babel, the potential of a global government and cashless society is within mankind’s reach. All the necessary compo-nents are in place for creating a socialistic world government—the surveillance state, political bodies such as the United Nations, electronic banking and microchip implants. (p. 15)

In interviewing Paul in person, he explained that Babylon, the last Babylon of the Bible, com-prises two distinctive realities. One is a “cosmic city” that represents the rebellion of human-kind. It exists throughout time, it has been located in many geographical locations, and it has known many different leaders. However, this cosmic city incorporates a “spirit” and that spirit may be rightly called the Spirit of the Antichrist. It stands opposed to the God of the Bible – this is its unifying theme. And while many speculate that the physical Babylon on the Euphrates River in Iraq will someday be rebuilt and restored as a literal city that will constitute at least one of several capital cities claimed by a future, physical antichrist (aka the “Little Horn” of Daniel, “The Man of Fierce Countenance” and “The Assyrian” as well as over twenty other bib-lical names), McGuire indicates he believes there will be a literal, physical Babylon during the final days before Christ returns. He is non-committal on whether that city is in Iraq, Europe, or even in America (as in New York City or Washington D.C.), but he does not deny that it will be a physical municipality (and represent a country as great cities symbolically do).

The Conspirators that Lead Mystery, Babylon

The Babylon Code contends that at the core of the socialist syndicate are wealthy elites, many of whom are consciously aware that they connect to genealogies that trace themselves back to Charlemagne (800 A.D.), the Roman Caesars (100 B.C. to 400 A.D.), the Pharaohs of Egypt (2800 B.C. to 300 B.C.), and some believe, all the way back to Nimrod himself (2000 B.C.?). McGuire and Anderson don’t shy away from applying the often-used label “illuminati” to this cabal (despite its being discounted in popular culture and denied by virtually all academics). Whether employing the moniker illuminati or not, the label speaks to a creed consciously acknowledged and secretly avowed by the families that clandestinely believe they were estab-lished in pre-history by the gods themselves as the rightful anointed kings of the earth.

Quoting the authors:
Are the illuminati still in existence? Is it—as some researchers have claimed—made up of 13 wealthy and powerful families who trace their bloodlines back to the royalty of Europe, Rome, Egypt and even ancient Babylon? ... Or is the Illuminati” simply the pop culture term for the real power structure in today’s world, the plutocracy—the elitists who exercise power over the planet’s governments by virtue of their extreme wealth?” (pp. 26-27)

They also cite the well-known Grand Poobah among all conspiracy theorists, Jim Marrs:
“The Rothschild banking dynasty, for example, they believe themselves to the descendants of Nimrod who was the ancient god-king of Sumer… So there is a strange aspect to the whole thing, and yet when you actually begin to study it there is quite compelling evidence that this ruling elite—this 1 percent, this New World Order bunch, this Illuminati, whatever you want to call them—is actually just one and the same of the bloodlines that have come down through antiquity.” (p. 27)
Who are the families? The book doesn’t spell out the 13 names of these families, but many are easily guessed. Without exception, the names that McGuire cites in person dominate the West-ern world, America as well as England, Ireland, and the rest of continental Europe. No, the names aren’t Turkish, Saudi Arabian, or Persian. Babylon and the likely Antichrist himself do not appear to be natives of the Middle East although that view constitutes a popular argument among prophecy aficionados today.

The Book’s Conclusion and My Final Assessment
The authors are careful in drawing conclusions regarding several controversial topics that occupy the minds and debates of prophecy buffs at this moment.
One: the book does not indicate that it is too late for the world to repent and therefore, we are not destined to see the world end on a particular day or even during a particular year. Date setters will be disappointed if such a one looks for an argument that spells out when the Lord returns.
Secondly: the argument for the timing of the rapture does not receive quarter in this book. In talking to Paul in person, I know he has definite views but he is de-liberate in avoiding the debate. He believes, as do I, that debating the timing of the rapture is a divisive matter that appears to do the Church of Jesus Christ more harm than good. Not that the scripture teaches self-contradictory rapture doctrine. It clearly teaches the rapture as part of the resurrection and together they comprise “the blessed hope”; but scripture can be (and certainly is) adduced to support numerous differing points of view.
Thirdly: the authors don’t wish to point to any one city or nation and say, “This is the final Babylon of the last days.” They leave open the possibility that Rome, London, or some other Euro-pean city (or an American one) will comprise the final capital of Antichrist. I would add that most scholars believe Jerusalem itself will be conquered for a time by Antichrist (see Zachariah 14:1-2) and may come to be considered his religious capital during his final moments on earth.

The Babylon Code and the Eye of Enlightenment -

Conspiracy theories are a tricky subject to discuss. On the one hand you have the incredulous eye rolling disbelief of those who think they know better and on the other hand the ranting wild eyed crazies who are hiding from black helicopters. Then in the middle there are folks like Paul McGuire and Troy Anderson who have tried to bring some reasonable scholarship to the subject.

To me one of the great failings of most conspiracy theories, (and yes I’ve read a lot of books on the subject) is they fail to complete the story arc. In other words they have no congruent idea upon which to base their theory through the ages. I mean come on, every generation has businessmen and women who “conspire” in some form or another to promote their own self-interests over others. But what legitimate mechanism would or could promote any agenda over multiple generations? That is an entirely different question altogether.

In Babylon Code I think the authors have gotten closer than most to identifying a legitimate mechanism or philosophy, if you will, which would be capable of a uniting men and women across the ages in a conspiracy. As the authors show, that conspiracy began in Eden with the first promise of secular humanistic “enlightenment”, that ancient promise of knowledge and eventual godhood represented by luciferians, the world over, with the symbol of the open eye.

Genesis 3:5 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Now there is a bit of repetition in this book, but that is the nature of the evidence. Names change and generations pass, but the underlying theme stays the same. That is why you see the same ideas and beliefs represented over and over again throughout history. This underlying theme of enlightenment is the only real global conspiracy and its origins are found in the pages of the Bible. It’s a conspiracy in which Satan is marshalling his forces of darkness against mankind in an attempt to usurp YHWH the living God of the Bible. The authors of this book call it the Babylon Code.

Ephesians 6:12 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There is a point regarding the symbolism of Babylon Code which I think could use further clarification. The authors in this book talk a lot about the open eye and the great pyramid as a one of the premier symbols of illuminists. But there is more to the symbol than meets the eye. Excuse the pun.

It is true that the open eye represents the illumined principles of those who hold a Luciferian world view. The very idea comes from Genesis 3:5 and Satan’s promise that mankind “eyes” would be opened and they would become as gods. The open eye or the point within a circle was indeed the symbol of Adam Weishaupt’s illuminati as well.

But when those who hold a Luciferian world view superimpose the open eye of enlightenment over the capstone of a pyramid they are conveying, to those who understand their symbolism, their real objectives.

Manly P. Hall, in his book The Lost Keys of Freemasonry, which the authors of this book quote several times, explains an illustration of a man standing on top of a pyramid in place of the capstone. In the illustration there is a man with a capstone on his robe, standing in front of a flaming alter upon which is inscribed a circle with a point in the center. Here is a how Hall explains this symbolism:

“In this picture is concealed the allegory of the Lost Word. The Master Mason, having completed his labors, becomes a worker on a higher plane than the one in which the ordinary builder is permitted to work. The Master Mason becomes the capstone of the Universal Temple.”

What many don’t realize about this statement and the similar symbolism of the radiant eye superimposed over the capstone, (like found on the Great Seal) is that both symbols are really a rejection of the Bible’s messianic promise. In the Bible the one symbol by which Yeshua chose to represent himself was a head corner stone. Our word “head” comes from the Hebrew ro’sh which means head, top, summit, or upper part. “Head stone of the corner” then is simply describing a capstone. Unfortunately the majority of Christendom today see the Messiah Yeshua not as the capstone of YHWH’s creation but rather as just one of many other corner stones. This erroneous view is in keeping with the illuminist philosophy that Yeshua was an equal of other great prophets or enlightened men of history.

With this in mind take another look at the Great Seal of the US. The designer of the Great Seal was Charles Thomson, Secretary of the Continental Congress. Despite the claim of many, there is no evidence to prove that Thomson was a Freemason. What we do know is that Thomson was likely the most knowledgeable Biblical scholar of early America. Thomson gave the world the first American English translation of the New Testament. Thomson also gave the world the first English translation of the Septuagint.

Thomson as a Biblical scholar would have understood the Biblical symbolism of the Chief Corner Stone and its messianic implications. Thomson as a close associate to Franklin and Jefferson would also have understood the enlightened philosophy held by his associates. Thomson by imposing a radiant open eye over a capstone was clearly making a statement which showed the struggle of the early American republic between the Biblical messianic world view and the luciferian enlightened world view.

Frankly, Thomson’s symbol was extremely clever. You see there were indeed 13 colonies but Thomson also knew that in the Bible the apostle Matthew, in his famous lineage of Yeshua, also represented Yeshua as the 13th generation and by His resurrection from the dead the 14th as well. By placing the open eye of enlightenment over a capstone which had not been set on its rightful place on the pyramid of 13 levels, Thomson perfectly represented the age old struggle between Lucifer and YHWH.

The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is YHWH’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. Psalm 118:22-23

In summary then, there is indeed a conspiracy working behind the scenes of history. The authors of this book call it the Babylon Code and it is a conspiracy not between men, but rather between Satan, the god of this world, and his minions, perpetrated against YHWH, the living God of the Bible. To be sure you’ll find plenty to disagree with when reading this book, I know I did, but I think like me you’ll also find enough evidence to show that indeed the authors have reasonable factual grounds to claim a conspiracy which they appropriately call the Babylon Code.

You just don't know how very true the statement is. When you look at the sorry state our world seems to falling into rapidly, you begin to wonder if there isn't a reason why all of this is happening. Are we headed rapidly towards a convergence of some kind? I believe we are and so do most people who are surveyed in the world. However the outcomes are too very different ones. Some believe we are heading towards the culmination of a one world government while the others believe we are simply living in the final days of Bible prophecy. Which everyone one you believe, it is apparent something is happening and it doesn't look like it's going to get any better.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the United Nations General Assembly that 'biblical prophecies are being realized. Franklin Graham says the world is in the 'last hours' before Christ return and Pope Francis believes mankind is in the beginning stages of a piecemeal, "Third World War." All of these remarks are coming on the heels at a time of plummeting morality, spiritual apathy, exploding national debts, severe economic turmoil, political uncertainty, a spate of historic natural disasters, worsening worldwide drought, record-breaking extreme weather, the growing risk of a nuclear conflagration and other daunting challenges. Have the biblical end-times finally arrived?

We have had the September11th, terrorists attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the 2008 financial meltdown, the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the increasingly unstable situation in the Middle East with the rise of ISIS and Iran's suspected development of nuclear weapons. There appears to be no end to the bad news. We have the killings of Christians by Muslims from Indonesia to Bangladesh to Pakistan, China tearing down church buildings. Christians tortured, beheaded, and crucified in Iraq, with villages burned and churches destroyed, and much the same in Syria. You can't help but wonder if we are in the last hours before Jesus returns.

Many intuitively sense that the world has entered one of the most dangerous times in all of human history. Society is caught in a maelstrom of converging forces - the growing threat of thermonuclear war, worsening drought and famine and intensifying calls for a new internal order and global authority to address the mounting array of international crises. Experts are alarmed by the continued spread of weapons of mass destruction and threats by Iran, North Korea and ISIS to bring about "Armageddon" in the West. Meanwhile, fears of a economic collapse are growing as nations continue to amass unprecedented levels of debt.

But are all these things merely coincidences or is there something larger at work. Some believe that God has removed His hand of protection and America is being to reap what it has sown by such things as legal abortions, the redefinition of traditional marriage to include same sex couples and now the persecution of Christians within our own bodies if any stand on religious freedoms. Others believe that we are all merely pawns being used by those in the Illuminati, the Freemasons, or the Rothschilds or other secret organizations that have been planning for such a time as this where a one world government, one world economy and a one world religion can be culminated like never before. Is now that time? Are these organizations really at work playing people like master puppeteers? A closer look and an indepth research is required.

In the book, The Babylon Code from Paul McGuire and Troy Anderson, they take a look back into both situations to see how close any of these theories are to becoming a reality. While I can appreciate their interpretations of the Bible from the use of Daniel, Ezekiel, Revelation and more, I see that most of this book is redundant. In fact, I believe you could scale this down to half of what is included and still gain the point behind that they intended. I lost count how many times, the reiterated the story of Nimrod and it's correlation to both the Bible and the world views. I felt like I read a book that had been written in various stages or chapters and then assembled together. I was sincerely hoping for so much more than what this book promises and for me, comes a bit short on delivering what I believe the reader is hoping to gain from reading it. It needs someone to read through it and reorganize the information in a more concise manner to make this what I believe the authors were hoping for. I received The Babylon Code by Paul McGuire and Troy Anderson compliments of Faith Words for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation aside from a free copy of this book to review for my honest opinion. For me this one had promise but failed to deliver in the way I believe they intended and thus the reason for my 3.5 out of 5 stars.

As an avid Conspiracy Theorist, and below average Christian, I am always pulled in by these types of books, and this one did not disappoint me. It could have used one more round of editing, as it was either repetitive in places or thoughts were not fully complete.

If either Conspiracy Theories or End of Times interests you, this is worth a read. It starts with the Tower of Babel and explains ideas and views from that point on.

Even though it is 400 pages, it is a quick read and I highly recommend it.

"The Babylon Code" was a fascinating read although it seemed to rehash certain subjects over again (which would be an editing issue and as such I will not base my review on that). The history is very interesting and well researched. I took my time reading the book as there was much to think about and absorb. I did find the end a bit preachy and would have preferred to stick to the main facts of the book. All in all, I found it to be well written and would recommend it to anyone who wonders about secret societies and the connection to the End-Times. The biggest thing to take away from this book (to me anyway) is not to be afraid of the Book of Revelation at all but to see it as a book of hope and not despair.

Prophecy constitutes almost one-third of the Bible. The closing words of the Bible declare that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:10). This is saying that the testimony of Jesus is the “key” to prophecy. I love Bible prophecy because I love the Bible. The Babylon Code is an amazing book and a powerful tool of evangelism to spread the great message of Jesus — a message of hope in the last days. I encourage everyone to get a copy of this book, along with copies for your loved ones and friends, to share this message. It’s especially important for your loved ones and friends because we want to see all of them in Heaven. Like the book says, it contains the “secret to both our survival and our salvation.”

Enlightening
Troy Anderson and Paul McGuire’s “The Babylon Code” is an enlightening book that is needed in this dark world. The authors take you on a journey into the past to give insight into current events. The key is understanding Babylon as a global government, economic system, false religion, and literal city founded by Nimrod. Anderson is an investigative reported, and he has definitely done his homework. The book is thoroughly researched. McGuire is the expert on Bible Prophecy, and he is no slouch either. He weaves in examples from Genesis to Revelation. The book is a must read for anyone interested in having insight into these last days. It will help you follow the prophecies, as they unfold in from of your own eyes.

WILL AMERICA BE HEAD OR A LEADER OF THE END-TIMES BABYLONIAN SYSTEM?

Authors Paul McGuire and Troy Anderson wrote in this 2015 book, “the central question is what forces could bring about the return of ‘Mystery Babylon’ and ‘Babylon the Great’---the final geopolitical, economic, and spiritual system described in Revelation 17-18… a number of prophetic scholars … claim that the Illuminati … the elite and their interlocking networks of transnational corporations, international banks, government agencies, think tanks, foundations, and secret societies---are behind the push to create a global government, economy, and New Age religious system… former M16 intelligence agent John Coleman calls its inner core ‘the Committee of 300.’” (Pg. 20-21) Later, they add, “Are the Illuminati still in existence?... Or is the ‘Illuminati’ simply the pop culture term for the real power structure in today’s world, the plutocracy----the elitists who exercise power over the planet’s governments by virtue of their extreme wealth?” (Pg. 26-27)

They observe, “While Iraq is usually assumed to be Babylon by some prophecy teachers… the ancient territory of Babylon could just as well refer to the Arabian peninsula and nations such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Yemen… In recent times, a growing number of experts have expressed alarm at the rise of ‘apocalyptic Islam’ in the Middle East with ISIS… For the first time in history, two nation-states in the Middle East are driven not by political ideology or religious theology but the ‘apocalyptic, genocidal end-times eschatology.’” (Pg. 50-51)

They explain, “Many believe it has nearly unlimited wealth, power, and reach. It’s known by many names: the ‘shadow government,’ the ‘invisible government’… Secret society experts say this mysterious group consists of wealthy families, transnational corporations, international banks, government agencies, think tanks, foundations, nonprofits, and secret societies… At a time when wealth and power are increasingly concentrated, many are asking who really runs the world, how much of the planet’s wealth the elite control, and what influence they wield over politics and the news media.” (Pg. 57-58)

They acknowledge, “While … a growing number of ministers [are] giving sermons on Bible prophecy in recent years, the vast majority of churches today still avoid the topic. In large part, this can be traced to the speculation … that the Rapture wo0uld occur in 1988. When 1988 came and went, many ministers stopped teaching prophecy, concluding it was too controversial.” (Pg. 110)

They recount that Neill G. Russell “said [Isaac] Newton had predicted a major prophetic event would occur in 2016, forty-nine years after Israel recaptured Jerusalem in 1967… Inexplicably, Newton’s prediction lines up with the end of the biblical Shemitah in September 2015 and the beginning of the ‘Super Shemitah’ on September 23, 2015---Yom Kippur…” (Pg. 137)

They suggest, “We also share the view that America is not just in decline but on the ‘road to collapse.’… Given the dire state of the nation, many prophecy experts believe something ‘catastrophic’ will occur in America, paving the way for a global leader to arise as predicted in the Bible. They believe the United States may be destroyed or severely weakened by an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) or nuclear attack.” (Pg. 139-140)

They note, “Five Ways America Has Violated God’s Law of Love: 1. … the American government, broke numerous treaties with the Native Americans… 2. American bought slaves in Africa… and then forced them to work for free… 3. … powerful international banking families artificially created the Great Depression, along with World Wars I and II… as a means of expanding the wealth of a small elite. 4. Powerful American families and dynasties began the scientific eugenics programs of the 1920s in an attempt to scientifically greed a superior race… 5. … The American people have willfully participated in the abortion of more than fifty-five million unborn babies…” (Pg. 145-146)

They add, “When we look at America today, it is important to recognize that what we’ve dubbed the Babylon Code has been carefully embedded into its framework… this encrypted biblical code is set to activate on a prophetically prescribed date that only God is privy to.” (Pg. 149) They continue, “Although Bible scholars debate the exact identity of Babylon---and we are in no way definitively suggesting that America is the Babylon of Revelation 17-18---it could be, even if America is not Babylon, that it plays a key leadership role in the Babylonian system described as the ‘fourth beast’ in Daniel 7. The Babylon Code… reveals a great mystery… America will likely play a key role at the head, or at least a significant leader, in the emerging end-times Babylonian system.” (Pg. 153)

They contend, “Regardless of whether the Illuminati still exists or it morphed into or inspired the creation of other secret societies and front organizations, the evidence uncovered in our five-year investigation strongly suggests that some form of ‘secret cabal’ is covertly orchestrating world events… most researchers agree it helped inspire or contributed to the creation of other secretive organizations such as Skull and Bones, Bohemian Grove, and the Bilderberg Group.” (Pg. 206) Later, they add, “there is strong evidence to suggest that actual Illuminati bloodline families do exist and comprise the ruling class of our world. Within the secrets of ‘Mystery Babylon’ is a satanic system of economics that has enabled Lucifer’s followers to accumulate the world’s wealth at a level no ordinary person could ever acquire.” (Pg. 247-248)

They explain, “While most prophecy experts believe that New World Order will emerge out of the European Union or America, some believe it will be headquartered in the rebuilt city of Babylon in Iraq. We believe the end-times Babylonian system will have multiple geographic centers, and modern Babylon could very well be one of them. (Pg. 235)

They suggest, “It certainly seems that the nuclear showdown between Iran and Israel is about to enter the ‘critical “end game” phase---a sign that the prophetic time clock is about to go into hyperdrive… Many prophecy scholars believe the Israel-Iran nuclear showdown will result in the fulfillment of prophecies in Ezekiel 38 and 239… They say these chapters describe an end-times attack on Israel by Russia, Iran, and a coalition of other Middle Eastern nations.” (Pg, 288)

Paul McGuire recounts a ‘Vision and Prophetic Word’ in which “I was watching a biblical, last days revival break out in California… the fires of this revival began to spread slowly from California to neighboring states… I understood that this revival had become another Great Awakening.” (Pg. 315)

I live in California, and I have yet to see a ‘revival break out’; similarly, 2016 has come and gone…

This is a great book that will help you personally to awaken from your slumbering to see what is really happening to this World.
As a follower of Jesus Christ for some 30 years, I'm glad this book is available. We, people who believe in Salvation through Jesus Christ and HIM only, now have a resource that we can put in the hands of our friends and neighbors that is particularly relevant to right now-today.
Give this book to those that are asking you "Why are these problems on us now, what can we do, can we be rescued ".
