She was on her way to celebrate. She never made it.
Irena Rossi should have died on that stretch of road. Instead, she wakes up to blood, pain, and a man who looks at her like she belongs to him.
Chance Boucher wasn’t looking for his mate. But the second he pulls Rena from the wreckage, he knows. The bond hits hard, fast, and absolute. She’s his. Fate doesn’t make mistakes. Now all he has to do is convince the stubborn, sharp-eyed woman who clearly didn’t get the memo.
Rena knows what mates are. She’s heard the stories, seen how deep those bonds run. She’s also spent years choosing the wrong men, and she’s not about to let fate decide her future, no matter how strong the pull.
Too bad walking away isn’t that simple.
Because something is hunting vampires…and the women bound to them. And whether Rena accepts the bond or not, she’s already on the list.
When destiny refuses to let go, can she trust the one man she never saw coming—or will denying him cost her everything?
Nicole Jacquelyn started writing before she started elementary school, however she didn’t start publishing her stories until her senior year in college. Today, she’s the author of the best selling Aces Series, Hawthornes Series, Fostering Love Series and Bouchers Series. She loves to read, drinks too much coffee, and lives in Oregon with the coolest children in the entire world and an English Bulldog named Blue.
Ok first of all. How dare you Nicole Jacquelyn to leave me hanging like this?!!!!! My anxiety cannot handle that cliffhanger ok? The amount of emotions I went through this book, a bit more action and maybe insight into what happened to the people in the labs would be amazing but the whole love story building of this couple which is the main plot was chef's kiss, more than great. Note to myself: NEVER READ A BOOK OF THIS AUTHOR WITHOUT TISSUES CLOSE BY. I cried and cried and cried some more in some scenes. And now I hope that we get another series announcement? Pretty Please?!!!
Pulse & Promise was a phenomenal finale to The Bouchers series and an easy 5-star read for me. Nicole Jacquelyn delivered a story that was raw, gritty, and packed with intensity from beginning to end. The action kept me hooked, but it was the emotional depth that truly stood out. Every challenge, setback, and hard-fought victory felt real, making it impossible not to become completely invested in the characters and their journey.
As the final book in the series, it wrapped things up in a satisfying way while staying true to the heart of the Bouchers. I absolutely loved every minute of it and couldn't have asked for a better ending to a series that has kept me captivated from the very beginning. I really hope there's another series set in this universe because there were so many characters introduced and featured toward the end that caught my attention. I'd love the chance to spend more time with them and see where their stories lead next.
Information overload and mind numbingly dull. This is what happens when an author takes herself a bit too seriously - the result is over-dramatisation of the most basic things to the point where it’s farcical. There are full page scenes dedicated to her retrieving her purse, unzipping said purse to see if her cards are inside, commenting about zips being a good creation, then about what clothes she needs to pack, if her sofa cushions are lumpy or not and if the decor fits his view of what he thought her decor may be, blah, blah, blah. Detail after mind numbing detail of the most mundane and unnecessary things - the moist extreme case of an author telling not showing!! Kmn, this author needs better beta readers and critique partners, a better editor and more importantly a better story. She peaked with Unbreak my heart and since then it’s been obvious she’s churning the books out just because it’s a day job for her. Instead, if she honed her writing skills and plotted a good book that she actually took the time to write and edit well, I think it would be a far better experience overall for her and her reader base. Also, if her annoying heroine says “jesus wept” one more time I’m going to lose it - you can make it a drinking game at this point, it’s that repetitive and annoying! 2 generous stars
