Neesa lives in the beautiful twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago with one husband, two daughters and three dogs. She spends endless days lazing on the crystal blue beaches drinking coconuts. Clearly from that last line you can tell she has an awesome sense of humor.
She enjoys writing funny, quirky stories almost as much as she hopes you love reading them.

Thank you to the publisher who made this available for review through SLJ's Picture Book Palooza. This in no way changed my rating.

This was SO interesting. I didn't know that traditional steel drums were made from oil or petroleum barrels and that it's regarded as the only instrument created in the 20th century. The story was clear and interesting, told from the POV of the barrel as it's "reborn" into a drum. The illustrations look like they're hand-carved stamps, but I couldn't find the information to confirm that. They're intriguing and they stand out because of the limited color palette. Highly recommend.
