The Ralph Chalmers Mysteries #12

The Magna Carta Murders

Rate this book
In Thurbin’s 12th book in the Ralph Chalmers series, Ralph and Katie find themselves involved in attempting to prevent the theft of one of Britain’s National Treasures. This fast paced, gripping, contemporary story revolves around the 800th year celebrations in England of the signing of the Magna Carta. While helping the police and MI6 unmask the criminals, Ralph unwittingly exposes Katie to danger. Suspicion of complicity in the theft falls on friends from his Cambridge days which creates a moral dilemma for our hero. The action moves between Washington DC, Runnymede on the Thames, Salisbury in Wiltshire, Maidstone in Kent, Brighton in Sussex, and Southwark in London. The reader will be challenged to discover how the thieves plan and execute the heist, and who the mastermind is behind the scenes. Ralph finds himself deep in the action, but at times his objectives are at odds with those of the police and the authorities. The story will both excite and challenge the reader, and as always, Thurbin offers an ending with an unusual twist.
