Now I just want to start of by explaining to those who don't know yet, how fond I am of a strong, bad ass female lead. I love them. Girly girls annoy me and I can't read them.

Rose was my IDEAL female lead. I loved how fierce she was. I admired her strength. I loved how she fought and survived. She was perfect.

It's a very fast paced and action packed book, but in the best way. It doesn't attract from the intense and mysterious story line at all! It's kinda like a mini kick ass action movie in your head, with Scarlett Johanssen playing the lead. Hot and badass, right? ;)

Not usually the typical read for me so I can honestly say that if you're gonna take a chance on just one author in the rest of this year, let it be Destiny Hawkins!! Trust me!! Only 3 more days till caged 2 is released, thank God!!

Now hurry, and go get your copy.....

This is a 3.5*. It doesn't feel like a four, but dammit it is close. The story is a thriller with a romantic element that is minor and subtle. It's also YA/NA which I am not keen on, and there is a lot of angst and so on. This is also in need of much more editing, and not just for the typos, but for the development of the story and to weed out the wooliness in places.

HOWEVER. I think at the bottom of it all, this is a great story and Hawkins has created a great and flawed character. The story, in spite of its flaws, grabbed my attention and drew me through the story. The ending needs some work and seems a little contrived yet, I think I am going to go and get part 2.

Very different. Not bad, I actually got into the story. More so because it's like nothing I've ever read before. I'm just a bit ticked at the way it ended and believe this story will benefit GREATLY by another round of edits.
Teen angst are the first words that come to mind when I think of how to give a short sum up of what I've read. I wish the author the very best of luck and hope she releases the rest of the story soon.
I'll be keeping my eyes peeled ;)

This is a story about about a little girl stolen from her family and forced into a fighting circuit by her captor. Can you truly ever get away??

This book reeled me in from the beginning. I found it to be fast moving and engaging. Some of it was a bit difficult for me to read but it is a good story!

I picked this book in another authors promotion for an honest review. Rose was abducted as a child and forced to fight in clandestine betting games, and finds herself with PTSD and learning to cope with what occurred. Well written, well developed story line and characters. An enjoyable read.

I just have to open up with what a phenomenal character Rose is she learned at a young age how to fight to stay alive, how to be strong for others, and how to fight like there's no tomorrow! Rose is freed from the ring after it's busted and is sent off to her Aunts and she tries to turn her life around after losing her parents. When her life starts haunting her she has to learn to control it and protect her real friends but who can she trust? Anyway I loved this book I felt the pain and the fear of her story. I imagined what it would be like in her shoes and I was waiting on the edge of my seat page after page wondering where it was taking me. I definitely recommend this book if what you look for in a book is raw, detailed with an amazing strong female character that allows you to escape into a world where connect with every character. It was a huge 5 stars from me and I look forward to more from Destiny Hawkins!

You have errands to do. You unlock your car door, at the curb. Before you can get in, a van pulls up behind you. Two men jump out, grab you and force you in the van. You struggle, they cuff your hands and knock you out. You wake up in a dark room, in a large cage! Frightening and mind blowing! Now, imagine that you're eight or nine years old!! The captor is heartless and cruel treating you like a wild animal. This happens to Rose. She isn't rescued till she's a teenager. Being caged is all she's known. Rose is a fighter. Can she break free of her invisible, all too real, cage?
Riveting and ingenious look into the mind of the abducted and the abductor!
A battle to reach the light/good. The characters and story engage your mind and emotions. A brilliant first book and I look forward to reading more by
Ms. Hawkins!
(This is Part 1, and it's a thrilling cliffhanger. )

Fast paced..couldn't put it down!!!!!

Once you start this..you won't be able to put it down!!!!!

Rose was kidnapped when she was little. If that wasn't bad enough, she was kidnapped to fight in a illegal kiddie fighting ring. Completely broken, she was beat to learn the lesson, do anything to win.

When the ring was busted, Rose had lost everything, her best friend, parents, and thoughts of a normal life. The only person left was a aunt that was a little better then what she was rescued from. Life was hard in California, so they move to Ohio. This was Rose's chance at a new beginning. But when her past starts sneaking back in, she will do anything to protect her new friends. But who can she trust with her past...

An interesting story but I wouldn't spend money on it in its current form. This author has other works that I have read which are more in the fantasy genre and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to more but this book just has too many rough edges which needs to be edited.

This is a very promising author but she needs to learn to make her dialogue flow a bit easier and give her readers more information to support her story.

I would recommend this if you get a free copy on Amazon because it is quite a good story but it is still in its infancy

the book starts out with a very hard scene unfolding. in a way it was hard for me to read, but once I got past it I was able to enjoy the rest of it. I will say that if you can get past the beginning, you will get wrapped into a great story as it unfolds. Rose is a powerful character from a very early age and I sat on the edge of my seat with each new chapter. I think Destiny has done a great job and look forward to reading more of her work!

A very good start

The formatting was a little messed up and there were few spelling mistakes here and there, but I read though this book in one sitting. This author is very talented and her characters jump off the page with a gritty realism that you don't often find. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

This is a very good story. The characters are detailed and likeable. The story is well paced, pulls you in, and is hard to put down. Will keep you up late, reading, just to see what happens. Highly recommended.

Interesting Concept, But Poorly Written

This is an interesting story idea. Illegal child fighting, but the characters interconnectedness seems highly unlikely, and the writing is just sub par.

After being kidnapped at a very young age, Rose fights not only to stay alive, but to make her way back to a normal life. Little does she know, its not going to be that easy. Great book. Kept my attention and loved the suspense created, right up to the end.

A real cliff hanger of a book. I did not like the ending so I ct a star from what would otherwise have been a five star book. Maybe I will read #2 but I did not like the trailer.
