After failing to find a mate during the Moonlight Festival, Kimber uses the wolf clan’s distraction to escape Fangor and set out on her own to hide from her guilt and shame. Living alone in the wild seems a better option than facing her parents’ disappointment, especially since she finds an abandoned cave perfect for weathering the long winter nights.
Escaping his bothersome family for the winter, Braeden journeys to his retreat only to discover his safe haven invaded by the last thing he wanted or expected to find—a she-wolf on the brink of mating heat.
Rating: Light-hearted fantasy paranormal romance. Bear Shifter. Wolf Shifter. Highly sensual depictions.
Jaide Fox has always had a passion for fantasy and the paranormal, having discovered both at a young age and devouring every book she could get her hands on, watching every movie that even hinted at her interests. It wasn't until she was in high school that her mother introduced her to romance--and she was hopelessly hooked.
Eroticism has never really been a part of fantasy, nor romance, and Jaide craved to see the two combined. Not able to find anything on the current market, she decided she'd write her own books to satisfy herself.
Jaide hopes readers will enjoy her first offering from NCP. She has many more novels planned and is currently breathing life into other adventures.
She lives in the middle of nowhere in a swamp, surrounded by all sorts of wild creatures (including snakes and spiders--which she gets rid of on sight!) and one mottled black cat who ambushes her from time to time.
Some called it a 'cute' story; I say, 'bear-es que-sweet & cuddly. 3.75 stars. I enjoyed the drama free light hearted story of how Braeden and Kimber become mates, Braeden is a bear shifter and Kimber is a wolf shifter and should have been natural enemies despite a truce. The two meet in Braeden's cave after he takes a hiatus from his family and after she runs away from the Moonlight Festial unmated. In time, she and Braeden mate and Kimber gets an accepting yet disquieting introduction to his family. You'll smile throughout this read.
Oooh...my...goodness! I loved this book. I laughed through it and didn't want to put it down. The only problem for me was that it felt rushed towards the end. I would have liked to get a little bit more than just a push along. Kimber and Bradeon made a great couple. I also loved the 1st book. Next time please don't rush the ending.
What an adorable follow up to "Mating Rights". Not only do we find out what happens to Kimber (whom we were left wondering about at the end of Mating Rights) but we also are introduced to more members of the bear or ursine clan with the introduction of the delightful Braeden.
I liked, but it seemed rushed. I don't like endings that feel like the author ran out of time and decided to just leave things where they were. Just acouple more minutes and/or pages could have provided a more satisfying End to this short story.
I liked it. Swift read. An ornery bear and an out of place wolf seek the same refuge to winter in. Bickering becomes yearning and roommates get closer.
