I really tried because I somewhat enjoyed the two previous books in the series but this book was TERRIBLE. I dont know if the author was drunk or high when she wrote it or if she didnt have a single friend to beta read it but this was pure SLOP. The use of AI was evident in the previous two books but after the first one or two chapters one could tell that she actually started writing herself but this one was so much worse. The AI dribble just kept coming. Comparisons that made no sense, choppy sentences....I respect the game but come on....atleast edit it to make sense to your human readers.
Then there are the continuity issues...you know the little parts that are supposed to make sense....
Somehow in the first scene the fmc is able to see through a wall into the suite where the mmc is standing...despite him standing facing away she can see his blue eyes in the dark. Then he tells her his suite is on the 13th floor but then it changes to the 12th floor a few paragraphs later. She also manages to read an entire paragraph off a scroll while blind folded. He also magically knows her friends name when they meet after she 'reads' to him. Then when they meet again despite her name being the first thing she told him, he says he had no idea what her name was despite the fact that he calls her by it several times the night in the suite.
I wasnt going to give it such a bad star rating but I got more and more annoyed every time I dove into the book trying to give the book another chance.
Im actually so pissed because this level of bad writing should not be allowed. People spend years crafting books and others phone it in completely. I hope the author reads this review and take my criticism on board and does better the next time around. Hell Id even beta read for her if she needs help.

⭐️⭐️.5

I ended up DNFing this one around 60%.

The premise initially caught my attention, and one particular plot thread kept me reading much longer than I expected. Unfortunately, once that question was answered, I realized I wasn’t invested enough in the characters or the story to continue.

The biggest issue for me was repetition. The romance relies heavily on the same alpha-mafia dynamics: possessiveness, “you’re mine” declarations, the MMC constantly seeing red whenever someone threatens or touches the FMC, and repeated references to the darkness and monster inside him. If you enjoy that type of hero, this may work much better for you than it did for me.

I also noticed several continuity problems that pulled me out of the story. Small details seemed to change from scene to scene, and there were moments where the logistics of what was happening didn’t quite make sense. Individually these might not be a big deal, but together they made it harder for me to stay immersed.

To the book’s credit, the FMC does have boundaries and pushes back at times, and there were moments where I found her more interesting than the MMC. Unfortunately, the relationship never developed enough for me to feel invested. The emotional dynamic felt repetitive rather than evolving.

I can understand why many readers enjoy this book. If you’re looking for an extremely possessive mafia hero, intense attraction, and high-drama romance, you’ll probably have a much better experience than I did.

For me, however, the story became predictable, and once my main source of curiosity disappeared, I lost interest in seeing how everything played out.

⭐️ 2.5/5 (DNF at 60%)

I didn’t really feel this one…

Another age gap Bratva story. She’s a lawyer and he’s a pakhan. There’s a psych and his sister who have caused a huge number of problems over the years. The psycho wants to take over the pakhan’s organization and ten years ago, turns out he killed the pregnant wife trying to destabilize the pakhan. Plus the sister got her feelings hurt that he pumped and dumped. There’s a lesson there for players.

Regardless this was a good read. Certainly it was above average and I did enjoy it. I think I read all in the series, and I’m done with the Bratva for now.

Kai Lesy books always keep me wanting more. 😍

After an amazing night that neither regret nor can stop remembering but both try to move on. Clara lands a new job that she's excited to start and rebuild herself after an abusive ex. Only when she walks into a meeting is met with the men she hasn't been able to stop thinking about for the last nine weeks. He sees her face and knows he will do anything to keep her. Dimitri, a Bratva boss, has lived in the darkness after living and surviving the worst event in his life. That is until Clara brings him back to the light. He will do anything to stay in the light, to keep her safe and prevent him from reliving his worst nightmare.

I was hooked from the start with Claire's and Dimitris first meeting🥵🥰🌶. Throughout reading, I found myself more and more invested. I love how Claire stayed strong throughout the book. She did not show weakness even though she was scared out of her mind. You get a little of everything one night stand, second chance, work place romance, high stakes, he falls first, possessive hero, a strong independent woman, and ex's that don't know how to take NO for an answer. Seems like a lot but all perfectly written that it doesn't pull away from the plot. A rollercoaster that you won't regret being on and twists that will keep you guessing.

This may be book 3 in the Ruthless Bratva Daddies series, however, you can read this as a standalone. Can't wait to see what Kai Lesy comes up with next. 🥰🥰.

This book started out OK, but after a while, I had issues sticking with it. The blurb was a little wrong, and it just became, for lack of a better word, boring. I wasn't really feeling much connection between them, either.

First, the blurb. I hate when these are wrong because aren't they written up by the author or whomever publishes it? Shouldn't they know if it is wrong or not? In this case, he never created a position for her. He had no idea who she was until she walked in for her first day of work.

After a while, especially after finding out about the pregnancy, I just got bored with the whole thing. Sure, there was a little action in there, but even then I was just trying to get through it to the end so I can move on to the next book.

I wasn't feeling much connection between them, either. The writing wasn't enough to convey it clearly, and why they are so in love. You can tell me a hundred times that you love someone, but if I don't get to see even a little bit of why, it doesn't mean as much.

I will probably read the last book, but I don't really think it will get much better rating.

I read her other book “The Better Brother” and this one is basically a direct duplicate.

✔️The MMC gets the FMC pregnant from the first encounter.
✔️ The MMC is part of the mob and the FMC refuses to believe it.
✔️ The FMC ex boyfriend works in street crimes and is trying to take down the MMC and his organization.

Like…no originality which SUCKS because I really liked the first book I mentioned.

While I will not say that it is the best I've read (I can get into reasons later), I will say that it's much better than a fair amount of mafia reads that I have been through lately.

The story of a girl who is in the wrong place, but at the right time, leads to one amazing night with a total stranger. Something she believes her best friend is responsible for when, in the end, she finds out it was simply a mistaken bit of reading.

Then a couple of months later, who does she find out is her new boss? Mr. one-night stand himself. And he *definitely* remembers her. It takes them no time at all to figure out that the chemistry from one night is still there and he employs all versions of seduction in order to bring her right back into his arms.

The secret twist of their story makes it all the better and I'm absolutely not giving it away!

Ok. Time to get into the things I didn't like:

1- It's choppy at times. It feels like there are details that have been left out in places that it was sort of important to deal with, but thrown into the mix in future settings in order to say "Hey, this is what happened there". While it's not huge, it still leaves you like "Hey, when did this happen?" or "Why?"

2- I'm still trying to wrap my head around just how blunt the whole "I am the pakahn" (spelling??) is for Dimitri. The last I knew (I'm basing off of a million and one mafia stories that I've read, so I guess you can call it a generalization?) they were far more secretive about things like that when out in the open ANYWHERE that wasn't their turf and protected by who knows what sorts of security. I understand that the business they were in was a legitimate one, but that means there's always a chance that someone is listening, and that would normally mean far, far more caution would be expected. I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy, and he's just that proud of what he is? In either case. This didn't make sense to me.

3- The over-the-top rage that disappears instantly at her touch. I can absolutely understand (and even encourage) the idea of a calming effect brought on by someone who you love and who loves you. But I feel it wouldn't be as instantaneous as this made it out to be? Seeing red does not feel like it can be cleared quickly when such emotions are on the line, even by the touch of a loved one. But that is just my opinion.

Potential with no Purpose…

This book offered a creative twist on the typical mob romance genre but ultimately fell short in key areas. While the premise—pairing a corporate attorney with a Bratva mob boss—was intriguing and refreshingly different from the usual “club encounter” or “witnessing a crime” setups, the execution left me wanting more.

The biggest disappointment was the lack of heat in the romance. The love scenes, only two or three in total, were vague and underwhelming, especially for a genre where detailed, “spicy” moments are a major draw.

Characterization was another issue. The female main character (FMC) was generally realistic and likable, but it was hard to believe that an experienced criminal defense attorney wouldn’t immediately recognize a career criminal like Dmitry. Her attempts to change him after willingly entering his dangerous world strained credibility further.

The male main character (MMC), portrayed as a high-ranking Bratva Pakhan, lacked the commanding, stone-cold demeanor typical of such roles. Instead, he appeared overly emotional and reactive, undermining his supposed status as an untouchable “Ice King.” Ironically, the main villain, Andrey, exuded much stronger mob-boss energy, making the MMC feel more like a side character than the feared leader he was meant to be.

The central conflict between the families felt vague, and the rivalry with Andrey lacked depth or a convincing backstory. The plot missed an opportunity to explore richer betrayals, such as involving the right-hand man, which could have added emotional weight.

Overall, while the story had creative ideas and a refreshing setup, it suffered from underdeveloped characters, weak romantic tension, and a lack of clarity in its central conflict. Readers looking for vivid, high-stakes mob romance with engaging spice may find this one flat.

Out of all the books in this series, Savage Boss was definitely my favorite. While it’s not my all-time favorite book, it was easily the strongest of the three in this series for me.

One of the main reasons I enjoyed this book so much was the FMC. She was intelligent, mentally strong, and capable of standing her ground without coming across as reckless or immature. I appreciated that she thought through situations and didn’t allow herself to be completely overshadowed by the MMC.

As for the MMC, he was exactly what you would expect from a mafia boss—powerful, possessive, and intimidating. However, what set him apart from many other mafia romance heroes was his ability to communicate. When the inevitable big argument happened, he didn’t resort to the usual “I need space” excuse or spend chapters avoiding the heroine. Instead, he faced the situation and worked through it, which was refreshing and made their relationship feel more mature.

The series overall follows a very similar formula from book to book, and the storylines are essentially built around the same foundation. That said, Savage Boss stood out because of the subtle differences in the characters and their dynamic. Those small changes made the story feel more engaging and helped it rise above the others in the series.

If you enjoy mafia romance with a strong heroine, a possessive yet communicative hero, and a relationship that avoids some of the more frustrating genre tropes, Savage Boss is worth picking up. Even though the series can feel repetitive at times, this book was the one that worked best for me and ended up being my favorite of the three. I'm glad decide to keep this one last in the series.

This guy on this book cover totally does it for me, so I said YES to this ARC. I'd read the phone book with him on the cover, a paint can ... you name it and I don't apologize for my very good taste in book cover men and this man in particular.

I selected well because this is a good story surrounding a Russian Kingpin—yes, it's done to death but this one surprised me in a good way.''

When Dimtri meets Clara it's purely by accident and they both roll with it. I initially thought this book was going to be a fluff job, but it's more. When we meet Clara again, she now works for the man she met that night. Now that he found her again, he has no intentions of letting her go. Soon, she realizes that he's a mafia kingpin and she wants nothing to do with him but her transgression nine weeks ago sends her spiraling into the unknown.

When attempts are made on her life and his empire he shows Clara who he is, unapologetically a protector. She's a strong female character though I thought her expectations on how he handled traitors was a little unrealistic and not her business. Because he wants her to stay and trust him, he goes against his nature.

When the puzzle pieces point to her, he's devastated and it takes a bullet to convince him that she's not the enemy. The last straw is their close brush with death and Dimitri decides enough is enough and that all enemies must be dealt with efficiently. Highly Recommended: Read this Book!

Savage Boss was a rollercoaster ride that I’m so glad I decided to get on. I’m not usually a huge Bratva romance reader, but I’ve enjoyed other books by Kai Lesy, so I figured I’d give this one a chance—and I’m very glad I did.

The introduction of Clara and Dmitri was such a fun, exciting start that immediately hooked me. Clara’s conflicting emotions regarding Dmitri felt authentic and relatable, and I found myself fully invested in her journey, experiencing every frustration, doubt, and attraction right alongside her. Dmitri comes across as hard and intimidating at first, but as the story unfolds, more layers of his character are revealed, making him a fascinating and compelling leading man.

What really stood out to me was how addictive this story was. I finished it in a single day because I simply couldn’t put it down. The chemistry, tension, and emotional moments kept me turning pages late into the night.

While it wasn’t quite a five-star read for me, it was still an incredibly enjoyable romance that kept me entertained from beginning to end. If you’re a fan of possessive heroes, emotional tension, and Bratva romance with depth, I would definitely recommend giving Savage Boss a try.

Clara and Dmitri's story!!!!

This one is better than the first book. It had everything I love in a dark romance, intense chemistry, powerful characters, danger, and a romance that keeps you wanting more.

Clara and Dmitri’s connection was what made this story stand out for me. From the very beginning, their chemistry was undeniable. The way they challenged each other, the tension between them, and the way their relationship developed made it impossible not to root for them. Their scenes together were filled with passion, and the spice between them was absolutely fire.

Dmitri is the kind of character that grabs your attention. He is intense, protective, and exactly the type of ruthless man you expect in a dark romance, but there is so much more beneath the surface. Clara was a great match for him because she wasn’t someone who would simply back down, she brought her own strength and attitude, making their dynamic even better.

What I loved most about this book was the balance between the darker moments and the emotional connection between Clara and Dmitri. Their story wasn’t just about attraction; it was about two people who fit together in a way neither of them expected.

Savage Boss was addictive from start to finish, and Kai Lesy definitely delivered a couple that will be hard to forget. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

This story pulls you in with its powerful mafia backdrop, blending danger, control, and emotional tension from the very start. The stakes feel high, and the tone leans dark, creating a gripping atmosphere throughout.

Clara is trying to rebuild her life after an abusive past and is excited to start fresh with a new job. But everything shifts when she walks into a meeting and comes face‑to‑face with Dimitri—the man she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about. Dimitri isn’t just any man—he’s a feared Pakhan of the Russian mob, powerful, controlled, and intimidating, which adds an immediate layer of tension to their connection.

The relationship is filled with push and pull, blending dominance, attraction, and emotional vulnerability in a way that keeps things engaging. As their connection builds, there’s a balance between intensity and deeper emotional moments that adds depth to the story.

A compelling read with strong chemistry, high stakes, and a relationship shaped by both danger and healing.

Clara’s night takes an unexpected turn when a bachelorette party game leads her to knock on the wrong penthouse door. Blindfolded and unaware, she spends an unforgettable night with a mysterious stranger. When she later starts a new job, she is shocked to discover that the man she cannot forget is actually her powerful and dangerous boss, Dimitri, a Bratva leader who has no intention of letting her go.

I really enjoyed this book and found it incredibly engaging from the start. The opening alone pulls you in, and the connection between Clara and Dimitri is intense right away. Clara is a strong and determined heroine, and I appreciated that she does not lose herself even when things become overwhelming. Dimitri is possessive and powerful, but there is also a softer side to him that makes his character more interesting. Their chemistry is undeniable and keeps the story moving at a fast pace. The plot includes a lot of drama and danger, which adds excitement, even if some elements feel familiar. Overall, this was a very entertaining read with great tension, strong chemistry, and a satisfying emotional payoff.

This was another fun mafia romance that brought two great characters together after a hot meet-cute. Clara, on a fantasy mission for her bestie's bachelorette party, ends up at the wrong door but gets the night of her life. She gets herself a new job to escape her abusive ex, a cop, only to find her one-nighter is going to be her new boss. Yikes! Bratva Boss Dmitri is thrilled to find Clara is now at his company since he's been unable to get over their night together. He definitely fell first, and fell hard! I love these two together. Clara was sure she shouldn't be intimate with her boss, shouldn't be working for the mob, and is unexpectedly pregnant, so she needs to be safe. Well, none of that quite worked out as expected... Expect to get caught up in this fun and spicy romance that has action, drama, danger, bad exes and a wonderful HEA. It's fast paced and exciting. I really enjoyed how this one unfolded and can't wait for what's next by this author. Good fun!

While I enjoyed the story, and the writing, I gave it 3-stars because it was almost exactly the same story as "The Better Brother" by the same author in the same series. I don't mind some similarities, but this was a bit much. The biggest difference is who he lost in the past. This FMC wasn't quite as stupid about her own safety as the one in the first book. Something that bothered me a little in the first book, but is even more prominent in this book... what kind of mob allows OTHER mob families to decide if you get to lead or not?
I'm gonna try book #3, but if it's take #3 on the same story, I'll have to DNF.

I loved this book from start to finish. Kai Lesy writes characters I want to read and this book is no exception. I love how the story starts with Clara on a mission straight from the bride at a bachelor party. Show up at an assigned address, put on a mask and read certain words. Only problem with this is what happens when you arrive at the wrong address and the man answering the door provides you with the best night of your life? Little did Clara know that this night would come back to her when she least expects it because the stranger is her boss and he has plans for her. It is full of danger, attempted murder, hot steamy scenes and a happy ever after ending. Trigger warning the story does include the death of a spouse in the past.

This is the story of Clara and Dimtri Smirnov. Dimtri is of course Mafia and the head of the organization and Clara is a high powered attorney.

This is my first story by this author, and I came close at the beginning to giving up and making this a DNF, but I stuck it out and I’m glad I did because it turned out to a be a pretty interesting read. It was somewhat predictable, but the writing was good and the two main characters were well thought out and the plot was decent.

Clara and Dimtri have a quick one night stand when Clara is taking part in a bachelorette event that has a scavenger hunt of sorts and she ends up blindfolded and in Dimitri’s room by accident.

Clara is later is hired by Dimitri’s firm as one of his attorneys not realizing who is and that he’s the man she slept with.

Pretty good story. I’d give it 4 stars…

This book had potential but I lost interest at the very beginning.

Supposedly she's blindfolded and then when she meets him at the interview, she's like oh we've met each other and I've even seen his naked body. How did you see the naked body you were blindfolded.

Then in chapter 6, she's walking out the door with her head down and then in the second paragraph Dimitri is saying how she's gathering herself and then putting her chin up while she walks out the door like which one is it? Cuz only if u have super vision will u be able to see her compose herself.

Then she's telling the detective (he ex) about her one nightstand with him! Why? He didn't ask u regarding it and I thought you didn't want anyone to know about it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Clara, you know who he is. You can't ask him to leave everything. He can't, you knew better.

DNF 42%. I’m pleased I read this series in chronological order otherwise I would not have read the first two books in the series - which were excellent. This book, however, was not! I read as much of the puerile nonsense as I could stomach.

Dmitry is laughable as the stone cold Bratva boss, too mawkish and sentimental. I much prefer Pavel’s character, and don’t get me started on Clara. She is supposedly a corporate lawyer, who has also previously worked in criminal law, so she is what? mid-twenties at least; however, she acts like a silly teenager throwing fries around in a bar and giggling with her girlfriend, Emily, who is also a lawyer. Her childishness just drips through the first half of the book.

I just find the story silly and implausible and don’t want to waste my time reading about two main characters I can’t warm to.

Flawed People

You won't find any perfect people between the pages of this book, but that is the secret beauty of Savage Boss. Kai Lesy does not flinch from presenting her characters with all their toadstools and warts. I prefer that.

This Bratva Pakhan has a lethal, barely controlled temper. He is all emotionally, black, oily anger derived from frightened angst. He had lost his deepest heart, until one night a blindfolded woman mistakenly opens his heart again. From then forward, he moves all his assets into securing the future that had been stolen from him and righting the wrongs of its perpetrator.

I love the ending line that says "the darkness finally learns how to protect the light."

Several unreported grammatical mistakes affected the rating, especially towards the end.

'For readers who love: Ruthless Bratva Kingpins, massive age gaps, and the billionaire boss you should never sleep with. A possessive, stalker‑vibes “touch her and die” Pakhan who builds an entire job around the curvy girl who knocked on the wrong door. A surprise pregnancy, and a morally gray man who’ll burn his empire for her..'

The characters were very complex and compelling and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy the read!.

Great book! I love mafia books and this one did not disappoint. Who doesn't love a hot, muscular, tatted, silver fox in the Bratva? I certainly do!
MC's had excellent chemistry together. I loved the FMC's character. She's an excellent lawyer and I love when she puts the police in their place.
MMC will do anything to keep FMC safe; anything. With several attempts on her life, all he wants is to keep her safe. But can FMC live with the beautiful, gilded cage he's putting her in?
Lots of action, violence, drama and some sexy scenes. I didn't want to put this book down. Another great mafia book by Kai!.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Clara Benson & Dmitri Smirnov. Clara was out one night completing a scavenger hunt for her best friend at her bachlorette party. What she didn't plan on was the stranger that she met that night and believed she would never see again. Dmitri knows who Clara is what he didn't plan on was her applying at his company. When he learns her qualifications he knows he wants her on his team and isn't willing to let a mistaken room take away his chance at a qualified lawyer. Can these two find a HEA or will that one night make a future impossible?

Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Ok so this author is hit or miss with me.
I feel like, with this book, she wrote it in four or five different sections, and then put them together, but didn’t make sure that they flowed together with very little- if any editing. There was a lot of inconsistencies, different perspectives, things that were mentioned that happened in the past that when we read the past, it actually didn’t happen that way, it just was very distracting and hard to follow. It was also strange that she had some intimate scenes that were very ‘closed door’, but then some that were very ‘open door’, it almost felt like two different people were writing the story. I stopped at 64%, I just couldn’t keep going. The book as a whole just bothered me.
