This is a stand-alone novel inspired by the For Always series. If you've not read the FA series, but plan on it, I'd definitely read that series first, since this novel may have spoilers in it for that series. (Book one is currently free on amazon!) If you're like me and enjoy spoilers, it really doesn't matter which one you read first, or if you just read this one on its own.

A must read!!! This brings to life the next generation of Janae Mitchell's FOR ALWAYS trilogy. A story of a young man who can feel what other people are feeling. This makes him want to steer clear of people until he meets Kalista. I don't want to spoil the book for anyone, but you have to read this. It is so good that I couldn't put it down till I was finished. Love Love Love!!!

Feels like rain by Janae Mitchell

A spin off from the “For Always” series, you can read this alone, but I do recommend the series first.
A rich family have moved into town and are trying to buy all of the farmers land, including Reeds and Rainbeaus.
So far Malyn and Beau, Jets parents have managed to keep hold of their land and businesses but are fed up with the constant harassment.
So Jet is shocked when the daughter of this family comes to talk to him to offer her condolences and is surprised to find that she is genuine and that he actually likes her.
Jet is different from other people and doesn't like to be around them as he is an empath. He can feel what everyone else is feeling which causes him to distance himself from others.
But when he starts to spend more time with Kali he starts to fall in love with her and knows that she loves him just as much.
Then Jet gets framed for blowing up a factory and goes to prison and Kali has to decide whether to believe him or just to walk away and forget about their time together.
I was really excited to receive this book as I have read the ‘For Always’ series and they are fabulous books. This one didn't disappoint and there were some very emotional scenes in this story that made me both laugh and cry.
I loved the characters, as always, Janae will make you love them or hate them depending on who they are.
I didn't want the story to end and am calling for another spin off from this book!
Recommended to all who love a good coming of age story with love, lust, hurt, and happiness.

I liked this book because it was fun to catch up with the characters from the "For Always" series, although the glimpse into the future is kind of bleak for some of those folks.
To be honest, I did not love this book, or even strongly like this book. I kind of felt ambivalent about it. I felt I owed it to Malyn and Beau to see it though but I skimmed some big parts seemingly filled with filler. The whole jail thing was dumb and unnecessary IMO.
I would reccomend it if you enjoyed For Always as a means to catch up, but keep your expectations to a minimum. It is not worth getting hyped up over,

I had the lovely opportunity of reading Feels Like Rain. The cover may deceive most readers, but the book is amazing. Don't let the cover fool you! It was hard trying to put this book down. This book deserves more credit than what it gets. Jet and Kali are adorable. It's really hard to hate this book. The plot is original. The book takes places in the future, which is interesting. Jet and Kali drove me insane. I'm not lying. I can't wait to read In An Instant!
