"All or nothing"

Yet another 'fishing' expedition. Only tell half a story in the first book, then hook the gullible reader into buying more titles to discover the ending. This one appears to have been written by two teenagers, as the writing style isn't well-developed. If you're short of pronouns, especially of the initial variety, then look no further. Although which contributor is responsible I can't tell, but there are clues to indicate the different hands. I've never really understood the process of working with a co-writer. Nobody is that 'in tune' with another person to produce a seamless offering surely? There was a lot of confusion too, over which character was speaking. As you can tell. the debits kept totting up for me as I read further through this part-story.
I won't be following up on the rest. The whole concept of these 'teasers' annoys me, as an avid reader. All I want is a good story, well told in ONE complete package, so in future I'm going to avoid these packaged items like the plague.

Plot Holes Big Enough to Drive a Semi Through

I get that this is the first in a series, but that doesn't excuse the poor story telling. The main character Gwynn is not at all sympathetic because we have no insight into what she is doing or why, she seems cold and calculating one minute and petulant and filled with teen like angst the next. Characters repeatedly talk about falling for each other or being in love after having, literally, only known each other for mere minutes. I understand that time moves quickly in a romance, but even with that it feels more like a bad high school fan fiction. I finished the first book in the hope that something would be revealed that would make me care about any of the characters, but I ended it feeling like I had watched a movie with far too many deleted scenes and I don't have any of the DVD extras. I'm going to pass on the rest of the series.

Not reccommended

Must have missed something..feel as if story line jumps around too much. Really don't think I would purchase other books in this series

!

Not a complete novel. No resolution to the plot even though there is a sequel offered for purchase. Leaves the reader frustrated!

Cliffhanger

Good book
Drama, sex, love triangle. To bad they had to leave you hanging so there is no ending. Would like to have seen what happened next

So confusing

Very quick read, I did not care for this at all. There's a disconnect in the writing. Storyline and the ending sucked. Don't waste your time.

I love romantic suspense thrillers and the cover along with description caught my interest in this book and I decided that I just had to read this one. Gwendolyn is new to town and she is on a mission to save the town's orphanage. Gwendolyn is a very sweet and caring person, who really cares about the children. She'll do anything to save the children, even if it means catching the attention of a rich man named Andrew. When Gwendolyn starts to fall for Andrew's brother, she realizes that her goals to save the orphanage could be ruined by her love affair. I really liked the story and the characters. I thought that the book was well-written and am looking forward to reading book 2 in this series!

Mixed feelings

I think the overall conveyor of this book is not bad but I don't feel that the main character is relatable. When I first started reading the book I thought and felt that Gwynn was a strong and confident woman that was able to play in a man's world but then all of a sudden she became wreak and began using her body to get the things she needed. I'm not sure if this is happening because of the romance angle. I would have preferred it better if she would just had used her brain and outsmarted Andrew. Overall, the book is an easy read and entertaining.

I am enjoying the series. Excited to read third and final.

A little too much sexual context. Need more mystery. Waiting to read more about her late father, and why they were estranged .

Good

Good read and an interesting one. The romantic elements weren't as good as the mystery parts but the ending was good.

Very poorly written.

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. The graphics were beyond silly for two consenting adults. What was the author thinking?
